While the staff was very nice, my stay here as a solo female traveller was okay. I didn't feel quite safe in the area. Also, the hotel wifi was down and a few other amenities weren't working. It was comfortable enough, but expect to be a bit uncomfortable for the low price of accommodation.

Hi I went down around 9:40 PM because I had a concern regarding our room. However, when I got to the reception area, no one was there — not even a room attendant. The only person present was the security guard, so I asked him where the front desk staff were. He said they went out to eat. I was surprised because the area should never be left unattended, especially since there are still guests who might need assistance or in case of an emergency. I’m sorry to say this, but if your staff can easily leave their post without anyone left in charge, that’s a serious issue. It shows a lack of training and discipline, and it might be best to review your policies or provide proper guidance to your team.

Honestly, this was a very disappointing experience, even for just a 2-night stay. I booked through Agoda, but nowhere online did it state that guests are required to pay a ₱2000 deposit. Finding that out only at check-in felt deceiving, especially since the staff brushed it off as a “hotel policy.” Yes, other hotels do require deposits, but they are upfront about it before you book. On top of that, there’s absolutely no Wi-Fi connection, and the in-room phone doesn’t work — which is alarming in case of an emergency or even if you simply need something from the front desk. To make things worse, cellular reception inside the room is very poor, so you’re left completely cut off. The aircon is so old it barely cools the room, and even basic amenities like a kettle aren’t provided unless you specifically request them. The only good points here are the polite staff and the location — yes, it’s right in the heart of Intramuros, Manila, which is very convenient. But even with that advantage, the hotel itself is simply not good. Outdated facilities, lack of transparency, and poor amenities make it not worth the hassle.

What a disaster of a hotel. First they wanted us to pay a deposit of 2000P having not put that in their conditions of booking. (We didn't pay it). There was no wifi even though it was heavily promoted. When shown to the room there was no water for making coffee though they provided nescafe and a kettle. One of the cups still had lipstick on from a previous user. The place was generally dirty. Only one toothbrush kit was provided for two people. The shower had one setting. On or off. You couldn't change the temperature (though it was warm enough). The bathroom floor had wall tiles which were very slippery when wet. Really dangerous. The breakfast was OK though they served nescafe and the service was very slow. And the hotel is in desperate need of renovation. (it was last renovated in 2012). Upkeep has obviously been minimal since then. One piece of good news to end with: We are told the front desk is open 24/7 before it adds if you intend to arrive outside those hours you should let the hotel know in advance. Make of that what you will! Will I stay there again? Definitely not. Ever!

The booking process through the website was great, but upon arrival, our stay was a disaster. We booked through their website, a Queen Double Room which without consent or notification got changed into a Deluxe Room with higher price, while the room looks the same, causing a 500 peso ripoff. Next, the wifi wasnt working for a month, and we work online at night until 2am; and they only informed upon arrival/checkin. Also, there was absolutely no mobile data reception in the room. Around the area, everything closes at 8pm, forcing us to relocate for work, so we asked for an early checkout after 2 nights and a partial refund. However, since we already checked in, no change or refund was possible. No flexibility at all to make up for lack of wifi, all we got was a defensive "we told you upon checkin (2 hours ago), you should have cancelled then". Then what? Would they refund our travel expenses to get here and our rebooking cost? After a long hassle, we eventually received a Smart 5G data wifi hotspot in the room that worked properly. Thank you for that. The beds were rock hard; its like a metal fence turned flat, with a very thin mattress (1cm) over it. We cannot sleep on this. I can still feel the metal wires in my hip bones. The first night, after checkin, there was also a water interruption, but it seemed to be resolved quickly. Behind the bed was a lot of mold, wet and smelly. The amenities stated free daily bottled water, but upon arrival we didnt see any. When we asked for water, we got an open pitcher, which is obviously purified, not bottled. When asking for 2L of actually bottled water, we had to pay 242 peso (235+SC). So much for "daily *free bottled* water". The third scam in a row of this hotel. The floor tiles were broken and loose. Weak shower, though hot. Bathroom was clean and functional. We should have checked recent reviews; as others before us have shared similar stories. Lesson learned. This is far from a Deluxe room. We will be checking out early as it is not bearable to stay here much longer; mostly due to the bed. The area (Intramuros) is great, close to Chinatown, Divisoria, Rizal Park, Ermita and ofcourse Intramuros itself. The Pasig river nightmarket is recommended in the evening.

Just arrived 2 hours ago. 8june2025 @ 7pm its now 820pm. Booked on Agoda with an email confirmation, but was asked for payment at the front desk, had to provide confirmation email. Saw a rat during check-in run into the security office from the restaurant area (will not be eating here for sure). No water at the hotel, wifi is between 1 bar and 2 bars in the room. Intermittent connection. No soap in the soap dispenser in the comfort room/bathroom. There is no phone to contact the front desk, up and down the stairs you go for everything. There is no elevator. Pesos 2k deposit for what? You get coffee. Aircon is loud, but working. Shower faucet does not close 100% so dripping water all night (after the water returned around 915pm I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Short stay so i will deal with it since its already paid for. Workers were quick to give water in buckets which was helpful

Location is the best thing about this. Right in the heart of Intramuros and theres a backdoor going to Barbaras to San Agustin church and other cafes you want to visit when here. Its an old looking place which has its charm but can feel like the hotel from the Shining at times. Air conditioning was falling apart still did its job after awhile. Very budget friendly aswell, great place to be at if you plan to explore Intramuros

Though the rooms need renovations and better cleaning, this is a budget hotel, after all. So, you will get what you paid for. The best part of this hotel is the location within Intramuros. Despite the hot and humid weather, I was able to walk to key sites withing Intramuros. The reception seemed to lack in its tour arranging ability, but I was able to charter a TukTuk at a nearby museum, to go all the way to Malacañan Palace area.

Yelp
It can be a challenge finding a nice hotel at a budget price, and at a good location, too. White Knight fits the bill, though, with standard rooms below P2,000, and with soft, comfortable beds and old-world furnishings. We even got a room with a bathtub for less than P3,000. We definitely felt that the hotel is consistent with the spirit of Intramuros. It's a great place to have a staycation and to just go out to dine in one of Intramuros' cultural restaurants. It's also a great base to explore the walled city at a leisurely pace, even moreso since it is at the Plaza San Luis Complex, close to other historical buildings and also cultural restaurants like Barbara's. San Agustin Church is also just across the plaza. You will feel right in the heart of the Intramuros, as we did, when we stayed at this hotel. The hotel has a restaurant of its own, too, with the option of al fresco dining among ancient walls and a wishing well. This is where we had dinner and it was perfect.
