Ever since the Michelin Guide entered Bangkok’s food scene, the city’s fine dining restaurants have competitively strived to push the level of service and creativity of menu offerings to higher and higher standards. Until now, it had seemed to be the case for only Thai and French cuisine in Bangkok. Enter White Lies.
White Lies is a modern Italian fine dining restaurant, which offers what is possibly the country’s first tasting menu in its cuisine or in Japan they called Omakase.
The namesake may be kind of a mystery to a first time visitor of White Lies. However, once one has dined there, one can easily see where it gets its name. The menu is full of cleverly plated dishes that at first glance have you expecting certain flavors and textures, only to have your senses completely surprised! For instance, pieces of chocolate appear on your plate but once you take a bite you find yourself tasting some exquisite foie gras. Or maybe you are presented with what looks like an oyster shell but find that it is a delicate paper thin pastry with a savory stuffing. The entire meal has you deceived, in the most pleasant and tasty way. White Lies promises not only a great meal, but a fun, exciting, and unique experience.
