One of the best cafes in the CBD, White Mojo served great coffee and delicious brunch meals. I’d been here a few times over the years and none of the dishes ever disappointed. The soft shell crab croissant was always a favourite and their sweet meals were always spectacular-looking (and tasting). Service was average, the venue was nicely modern. Overall it was a great brunch experience.

Google
Great breakfast and the staff were very attentive. We ordered their award winning dish, chilli cheese scrambled eggs and it didn't disappoint. It is really a must they dish if you come here. We also ordered their waffle and they decorated it nicely. I agree with some of the reviews that you need to come early because about 15 minutes after we arrived around 10am on Saturday, the place was packed. It was a good place with a nice atmosphere.

Google
The signature croissant burger is omfg amazing. You get a whole soft shell crab that is fried to a crispy perfection, the croissant is crispy, butter and flakey, the smoked eel and pickles adds the bite and the fried egg adds that runny egg goodness. It's bloody delicious! The coffees was good too, the cold drip was smooth and complex. Taking off one star because they didn't have baby chairs available making it not children friendly. Overall a great place with great staff and good

Google
The food was quite expensively priced although the plating and unique experience that the dishes provided were enough to make it enjoyable. We had the signature croissant and the salmon, with the charcoal croissant for dessert. Also the black latte, which has been quite popular over Instagram. The sesame taste in the latte makes it quite unique although still enjoyable. The interior was as you'd expect of most other brunch places, although nothing too special. The atmosphere is still enjoyable though and the service was good.

Google
Nice atmosphere and if you come here at 8am on a week day you can get your pick of seats. I actually picked a spot with a power outlet so I could do some work. I ordered their recommended double cheese chilli acramed eggs and it is super filling and you must love cheese to eat this. The serving was generous and the cheese super full on. It was a touch too much for me but it was very good. The salmon Benedict and the French toast though is awesome. Coffee and chai latter is very good too.

Google
Found this place as one of the recommended places and we were not disappointed! Ordered the double cheese chilli scrambled eggs, signature croissant burger and matcha latte. Taste was pretty great(soft shell crab batter was a little over cooked but did impact the taste inside) and did not disappointing at all us presentation wise, it was amazing as well. Despite being full with customers and a little understaffed, they were doing the best they could and with a smile too! Lovely simple decor on the inside.

I visited at 11am on a Sunday morning with two friends. It wasn't very full and we got a nice table. It soon filled up though. We ordered coffees, the passionfruit pancakes, and the chilli scrambled egg burger. The food came quickly and it was delicious and exactly as described on the menu. The atmosphere was nice and the place was really cute. I highly recommend!

Google
Very good memory for the signature dishes of double cheese burger with scramble eggs and croissant burger with soft crabs, so come to revisit while passing Mel. But not as good as recap, in particular, the scrambled eggs are over cooked.

Yelp
This place is located in the small alley. There are multiple well-known restaurants near by as well. My first impression when I stepped into the restaurant was very hip and modern. I loved their interior design and the color and how bright the inside was. Their food also looks very hip (definitely instagram worthy)! So by its look, this place deserves five-stars. However in terms of taste, I wasn't really amazed at this location. Their salmon was a bit too salty and chilli egg was aight. (Not a fan of mushy texture- didn't have much flavor). I liked their seasame latte though. Price is average considered in Melbourne and their service was good.

Yelp
Personally, if I had to pick between this place or the other popular brunch spot next door, Hash, I'd go with this one. They have a lot more menu options and their portions are bigger. I'd mark this as one of the best brunch spots in CBD. The quality is average but the things they put together are unheard of and I like that new experience. My food unfortunately took nearly 90 mins to come out but they gave me another free crafted drink to make up for it. Their matcha latte and cappuccino are satisfying.

Yelp
There was a short wait, and completely worth it. We had the chili eggs with a charcoal bun and the soft shell crab croissant. Both were packed with flavor and we devoured our food!! Not only does it look good, it tastes even better!

Yelp
There seem to be a couple of these places around, or at least I have encountered a couple of them. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are bad, particularly if they serve your typical Melbourne barista coffee, which is what they certainly do. I actually went to the one of Hardware Lane, namely because it was near where I worked, and also a good excuse to go somewhere I hadn't been before. Well, I can comment on the coffee (since the first time I was here I was still drinking coffee) and it was actually quite well done. Smooth, and not too bitter. I also liked the relaxing aesthetic atmosphere, to you can be assure that this place does get a little crowded.

Yelp
Had a brunch here for the first time today and it was pretty satisfying. I chose a safe option and went with the big breakfast and it was pretty good. The classic white decor and design of the cafe was calming and the staff were friendly. Definitely worth trying for casual brunches but mind the queue of people after 11am as it can get pretty busy.

Yelp
Too expensive. Popular items from Melbourne cafes. Presentation is similar to out of the city cafes. Quality and portion from low to average. I honestly won't come back because the portion is too small compare to the price, the quality of the food is average. Over priced! You'll get the same experience maybe with better quality and huge portions, lower prices, from outside the city cafes. I might recommend it for someone who don't want to travel too far but I'll warn them about what I mentioned above. As for me, I won't come back. It's a marketing project really, the ingredients are economically smart (maybe even not fresh), portions are small, extra decoration and fancy presentation for marketing, filled with millennial which is their target market. If you value your money and appreciate soul food with an artistic twist this place considered "fake" to you.

Yelp
Great food and extensive menu to please anyone! The staff are friendly and very helpful- the first time we went for brunch it was cool and the sky was a bit cloudy, and there was a line to get a table inside. A waiter asked if we would like to sit outside and we said we would be happy to. When our food came we began eating just as it started to rain! The staff were so kind and held an umbrella over us as they went to find us a table inside despite it being booked out and very busy. Within a few minutes they picked up our half-eaten dishes and took our plates inside out of the rain. We were so impressed with the service we came again the next time we were in Melbourne. This time there was no wait as it was a weekday, but again the staff were so friendly and kind. I even talked to a waitress in French about Paris as we had just traveled there! I highly recommend this cafe if you're in the area!! I have had the Matcha French toast, matcha latte, crushed green and a latte. All amazing!

Yelp
Heard a lot about this place from Facebook so I had to try it. I was drawn by the tessellated tiles and crisp white cafe. The indoor seating was quiet spacious, pretty, but noisy. The menu is creative, tasty and the dishes are a work of art. It's obvious they want to be the next big thing on Instagram, even telling you to take a pic when the food came out. I had the matcha orange pancakes with fairyfloss, honeycomb and berries. The flavours were nice. Tasted like an orange poppy seed cake rather than a pancake. My friend had the cauliflower pannacotta with a 63 degree egg and scallops. It was a bit of a smaller dish but she thought is was delicious. Is try this place again

Yelp
After a few brunch disappointments, I was taken aback by how amazing White Mojo is. Located on Hardware St, I saw a queue outside around 9.30 on a Sunday and was nervous that there would be a wait. I was surprised that there wasn't and walked into a bright beautiful modern cafe with an abundance of seating. The queue was for the cramped Hardware societe and I was relieved. Service was quick with my extra hot creamy skim cappucino arriving quickly. The menu appeared quite pricey with an all-day brunch but man was it worth it. The chilli scrambled eggs on brioche bun were actually spicy and went well with the sweetness of the brioche. The bun was covered in shavings of mozarella cheese that only added to the flavour. And I don't ever eat bacon finding it fatty and too fried for something in the morning, but this double smoked bacon - well I couldn't stop eating it! It was not chewy but crispy and easy to cut through and was very tasty. The soft-shelled crab encased in tempura batter on a buttery salty croissant with pickled cucumber and fried egg was equally fantastic - White Mojo wasn't stingy with its seafood and it was fresh (not that frozen kind you get in Asian shops). The croissant was of excellent quality and the sweet chipotle mayo helped with digesting the oiliness of the soft-shelled crab and croissant. This place is AMAZING! Service is excellent and the food was satisfying! Definitely a Sunday treat as it is quite pricey for 56 dollars for two people.

Yelp
With so many cafes in the CBD, White Mojo surely stood out as one of the best. Earlier this week, I had a chance to try some of their new menus and as usual I was blown away! Some of the recommended option will be the 'Smoke' Salmon, Matcha Orange Pancake and S'More Waffle! The 'Smoke' salmon is served with a glass cover and smoke (what White Mojo is well-known for). Indeed the situation got a little smoky until the interesting layers was revealed. Gin and tonic cured Atlantic salmon, roast beetroot labneh, whipped avocado and tahini, pomegranate and chive vinaigrette, puffed quinoa and poached egg. The 'Smoke' salmon was gone almost immediately. The S'more Waffle is as tasty as its look. The crunchy waffles are topped with toasted meringue, Nutella frosting, house made semifreddo and macerated raspberries. Delicious and beautiful dessert brunch to share or to have it for yourself! Matcha Orange Pancake is my favourite! The soft and zesty orange pancake is topped with fresh seasonal fruit, chocolate crumble, fairy floss, popping candy and a side of white chocolate matcha cream. For drinks, White Mojo done it again with another hyped drink, the Black Latte! Fragrance and mildly sweet black sesame in a drink. Comforting and yet so aesthetic!

Yelp
I only had coffee on this visit. the menu looks interesting, but the demographic is quite interesting in this place. Coffee is also quite average!

Yelp
Yes break my wallet won't you but it is quite a show here. Are you sick of waiting in line for Hardware Societe? Well, White Mojo tastes great, price is about the same and looks good too for the photo addicts. I went on a Sunday just before noon and we snagged an outside spot after a 5 minute wait. We had: Mojo burger - the soft shell crab was cripsy and the chipotle sauce gave it a bang. Cauliflower panna cotta with scallops, potato popcorn, black pudding dust AND this one was really magical. It was served in a smoke-filled glass kalosh (crowd goes ooooOOooo). We ordered a side of chorizo (bit on the small side and all cut up) and the house cured/smoked salmon which is a MUST try. I enjoyed the food and to me the theatrics, taste, serving size and location suited the price. Can't comment much on the drinks but we had a regular coffee and green tea latte which were good but nothing fancy.

Yelp
This morning I had an avocado toast (called a "smash green") and coffee for breakfast at White Mojo. Because I prefer to go vegan, I requested that they forgo the boiled egg and cheese and requested more veggies and avocado as a substitute. It was without exception the best avocado toast I have ever eaten. My coffee, a long black, was also excellent, and the service and ambiance superb. My son ordered a pumpkin toast for breakfast and he too raved about his dish. I will make it a point to visit White Mojo whenever I return to Melbourne. It will always be my favorite breakfast stop in Melbourne.

Yelp
I d say 2.5 stars for the food but FIVE for the sesame latte! I d go here any day for that latte and honestly find the food overhyped

Yelp
Very unique specialty coffee and roaster Cafe in Melbourne, popular for their Black Latte with Bonsoy (Vegan). Unlike the typical latte, this drink contains charcoal, peanuts, almond, and sesame. Beautiful to behold with the milk pattern and delicious! Excellent for a cold day in the city. The food options here look amazing as well. Would love to try their Signature Croissant Burger next time, since it has soft shell crab, smoked reel, fried eggs, chorizo crumb, and pickled cucumbers on a butterfly croissant. Sounds amazing! Drop by for brunch or for some awesome coffee drinks!

Rohan W.

Yelp
Staff and service here were awesome and so friendly. The food is extravagant and amazing! And beautiful coffee - we had both espresso and cold drip, both were so good For lunch we had the Pulled Pork Benny and the Big Breakfast! Tasted delicious!!

Yelp
Normally I like to go to a place a few times before I review it.. Im not planning on coming here again so here we go. For some reason there is always a massive wait but having a Monday off I thought I might give it a go. Maybe it's the hipster on his mac taking up a table, maybe it's the ladies who came in wearing hats and sunnies on a wet and overcast day and were still wearing them after they took a round of selfies and ordered. It's just another mediocre place to be seen and instagram about. I ordered the zucchini fritters and a 'house made' hot chocolate. There wasn't much zucchini in the fritters and tasted mostly like egg whites. They were pre-made and then heated up and fried, that's fine since you can't make to order in that situation but it was only fried on one side. There were two very thin 1" squares of halloumi and one torn up leaf of kale. The only positive thing was 1 staff member who was really friendly and polite, but English isn't her first language and was having a lot of trouble with people ordering. Now I need to go find something else to eat since I'm still rather hungry.

Yelp
A great selection of food and a really cool venue! Pretty well priced too. Highly recommend this place for breakky in melbourne, right in the city too - perfect spot

Yelp
We came on New Years Day and obviously expected to wait for a table, but our party of six was actually seated in about 20 minutes. Cafes are a dime a dozen in Melbourne, particularly in the CBD but I gotta say this one is pretty damn good. I had the soft shell crab/croissant burger cause it sounded a bit different. It was different, but it was utterly delightful! The guy sitting next to me got the chilli cheese scramble which I helped him finish off and I'd order that again in a heartbeat! Also, the servers were all very attractive.

Yelp
Stopped by white mojo cafe to Check it out before work on a weekday to get a takeaway coffee. They are running a special for June -$1 sm take away coffee or $2 for large on weekdays before 10am. The coffee was pretty good and fast service for a weekday morning. Cute takeaway cups with coloured lids on them to brighten up the morning!

Rose R.

Yelp
The customer service here is awful... I got racially discriminated because I wasn't Asian... I asked for a table for two, and then a group of Asians came in after me and she said, actually they were here first so I can help them first... And I said, "no, sorry I was here" and the lady ended up making it a bigger deal than it needed to be and still persisted to serve them and then told me I could take the table in the corner... Literally in the corner on a shared table... While the other people got a big table to themselves in a great spot... Then, I went and ordered a matcha latte and the waitress spilled it on the sides as she was putting it down and said, "hold on, I'll go clean that up" and it came back the same way... This place is super busy but honestly I think it's just because of the décor...

Yelp
White Mojo is a brand new cafe, just a couple months old but it has created a substantial noise on Instagram. Mojo means influence, magical power or some kind of spell. Correlates more to positive magic rather than black magic. there's lots of things needed to be improved but the eton mess is so pretty

Sarah J.

Yelp
The best meal I have ever eaten. The staff were so lovely and the food was so incredibly presented. Honestly the happiest I have ever walked out of a restaurant. I ordered the sweet and sour waffle and the smashed avo meal (to share with my sister) and the combination of the two was just perfect we also tried the banana muffin with raspberry sauce. Delicious. We will return again and again!

O W.

Yelp
The next offering from the crew who made a roaring success of #. Bright airy feel, a focus on decadent sweet breakfasts and complicated savoury dishes. The daily doughnuts will be a massive hit for sure! $4 Takeaway coffees are about 20% smaller than the standard.

Lyndon M.

Yelp
They arent accommodating to vegetarians. They wouldnt let me add any extras to the big breakfast without any extra charge even though I was already planning to order the big breakfast without the most expensive element....the bacon. Its not the money its the basic concept of fairness. Why should vegetarians, whose eating choices happen to be a lot cheaper, continue to subzidize the eating choices of others. I'm not looking for special treatment just basic fairness. They also have no dishes that are exclusively vegetarian or vegan. BTW I am a melbourne resident not san francisco. I dont know how to adjust the settings to reflect this.

Yelp
I wish we had 'brekkie' places like this in the US!!! Food was outstanding, service was excellent. Coffee was perfect. Zero complaints!

Joe D.

Yelp
Even something as simple as hash browns had amazing flavouring. Awesome food, service, and better priced compared to other places on hardware lane. Highly recommended.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Food was pretty good the first time I visited but has progressively deteriorated. Coffee is average at best. Overrated :/

Hong N.

Yelp
Definitely tested my patience! My friend and I went there after reading and hearing good reviews of the place and the pretty Insta posts but definitely a catfish place!! We waited 40 minutes for our food to come and all we ordered DEFINITELY didn't needed to taking that long.. I ordered a soy hot chocolate and it was nice so I'd say try their drinks but the food was something else! It was nicely presented but it lacked flavour and was overall bad. As we were waiting, we saw a couple sitting nearby and noticed they didn't finished their food and I understood why LOL Although the food was bad, the staff were really nice about it and handled our hangriness very well haha
