While making my way to Tower Bridge, I decided to take a little detour after spotting some boats docked nearby. As I wandered around, I figured I’d look for a place to grab a coffee, and that’s how I ended up here.
Walking in, I noticed how small the café was, but so are the other businesses next to it. The size wasn’t a problem at all, though. In fact, I liked it. It felt snug and personally quite comfy.
When I went to order, the staff were having a bit of friendly banter while working, clearly trying to keep the mood light and have a laugh together. It added a nice vibe, especially with the sunny, hot weather and customers enjoying themselves outside. I ordered two caramel lattes, and one of the staff (I think!) asked if I wanted cake or maybe something with custard. I wasn’t really craving anything sweet, so I passed, but seeing other people tucking into their slices, it did look pretty tasty. Can’t rate it since I didn’t try it, though.
As I got my lattes and went to put the lids on myself (they seemed to leave them off to show off the latte art, mine had a heart and a flower), one of the baristas noticed me taking pictures. He asked if I wanted to take a shot of the next one he was making since he had a fancier design planned. I appreciated it, but I didn’t want to hang around too long or get in the way, so I moved on. Nothing against him, he was super friendly and just excited to show off his work 🙌
With both lattes in hand, I continued my walk. The combo of a hot sunny day and a good coffee (not sure if those go hand-in-hand tbh 😂) really set the mood. I felt relaxed by the docks.
Now for the important part, the taste. The latte had a really nice balance. The caramel wasn’t overpowering (though personally, I wouldn’t have minded it a bit sweeter), and the smell hit me even before I brought it up to my face, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it tasted great. The only downside? Price. I’ve had lattes from other cafés nearby that were just as good but a bit cheaper. This one was around £4+, while others were in the £3-£4 range. That said, considering the location, right by Tower Bridge, it actually makes sense, and honestly, I’m surprised it wasn’t priced higher. So, no real complaints there.
All in all, it’s a great little spot to sit down or stroll around with a drink in hand, especially on a nice day. The inside is cosy and inviting, though it might feel cramped if it gets too busy. The staff are lovely, and the coffee’s solid. If you’re in the area and craving a good cup, definitely give it a try.
