We booked a skiing trip online, an EZ package for my 8 year old and myself as it was our first time skiing. Then we also paid for lift ticket and rental for my husband. The website was super informative with lots of tips to have a successful trip. Unfortunately, it took us significantly longer to get there due to the long line of people waiting to park do but thats not anyone's fault really.
When we arrived the signage made it kind of clear where to go. The line to check in for rentals and get our RFID was quite long but the staff members were super patient.
Getting our rentals was a little confusing but once staff shouted directions we were on our way. We were lucky because my husband grew up skiing so he was able to give me pointers on what a fit should be for the boots, if he was new to skiing thats the only part we would have needed help on and the boot people didnt give much instruction.
We got to our lessons 15 minutes late but we dont feel like we missed anything. Ryann (female) was our primary instructor with Larry overseeing several new trainers including ours.
They both were amazingly helpful with both my son and I, we had though we would be separated and we weren't (maybe because we were late?)
On the carpet area lifts, Matt (i think it was Matt, he has a 16 yo daughter who also works there and a 4 yo) made me feel better after falling when getting on the lift. Several times as I waited for my son to get up staff asked if we needed help or gave pointers after the lessons were over.
My in laws came along and spent a bunch of time in the lodge (grandma, ordered coffee and food several times) and (grandpa watched the lessons.) They both were impressed with the helpfulness of the staff.
I spent 15 years in the hospitality industry and enjoy watching and evaluating the staff and atmosphere at various businesses and organizations, with as busy as it was there overall the staff was friendly, helpful, hard working and seemed to enjoy being there.
Thank you very much for an amazing first ski trip for my son and I. My husband hadn't skied in 25 years (WA skiing is apparently much more extreme than Pennsylvania) and he is eager to get on the slopes again!
