Google
great resort we were here on Saturday and I was worried about the long lines for the ski lift, but no, the workers all worked quickly and we never stood in line for more than 5 minutes for the ski lift. there is a cafe where you can have a snack and many areas just for relaxing inside the building, very budget equipment rental for an adult is only $50 and $40 for a child. the ski pass is also not expensive we paid $59 for an adult and $39 for a child from 12-9 pm

The runs are nice and wide but we ran into too many flats on the green runs. Had to take my board off and walk a couple of times. The lounge is nice and spacious. Food was decent. Pricey, as expected. Luckily there was great snow that day, so we still enjoyed ourselves.

Google
We went to there 1/7-1/9, 2025, and the snow was a little sticky, but not too bad. It's very nice, no wait line for chairlifts, food line or bathroom line. We would love to go there again before the season ends.

Google
White Pass is so rad-it’s litterally our favorite place to ski. Those slopes & the White Pass team have a culture and the vibe is happy. It creates such awesome energy even throughout the strangers you meet throughout the day. Wouldn’t have it any other way-Thanks guys for a memorable New Year’s Eve Ski-God Bless you all-Psalm 138.8

Google
It's one of my favorite ski resorts. It's a heart mountain, privately owened.... not like one of the big corporate resorts. It would be nice if the food was a little cheaper, but I go for the skiing and not for the food.

Google
Got a powder day, lucked out with parking both days and our kiddos loved the magic carpets. Great mountain!

Google
One of my favorite placing to ski in Washington. Everyone is always very friendly and welcoming and which makes for an amazing experience.

Yelp
Love the rides here! The only problem I have it the long drive to get there. From Puyallup, it is about two hours. The staff is amazing! My son lost a screw for his bindings and I thought the day was over. The Pro Shop pulled it out and fixed the bindings for no charge! The ticket staff explained their new system and the reason for the $5 lift card charge. I hate the drive, but the runs and staff are worth it!

Denise A.

Yelp
All i did was drive over the pass and it was in the summer so no issues with snow or ice over roadway everything went well

Brandon S.

Yelp
called Friday night to ask if my hood fusion pass is good today 1/11. get comforting, drive all the way from Portland and get here and ticket booth gaslights me abs tells me every Saturday is blacked out with a fusion and refused to help or sell and ticket because lift tickets were "sold out for the day"

Yelp
I bring my family here every year for over 8 years. This one holds a special place in my heart. I love the layout here. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and nice. What's also nice is that you see the familiar faces year after year. It must be that they treat the employees fairly. The price is very reasonable. Variety of lessons are offered, both within groups and private ones. The 3 day pass is also a good deal if you end up staying in the area. It doesn't get as crowded some other resorts. Honestly this is one of my most favorite places to be.

Laura G.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with White Pass. We spent several days during the week and took advantage of the lack of crowd seen at other resorts, and snowboarded all day. Super friendly and relaxed staff and long, fun rides, plus a small bar half way up the backside to enjoy beverages outside while taking in the beauty of the mountain. My 5 year old had a snowboard lesson with one of the instructor, Brandon, and he is an excellent mentor. I think he's stoked a love of boarding in her. Side note: my daughter has asked me to give Brandon a 10 star review on Yelp, so here it is. Brandon is a 10 out of 10! The only downsides: the lodge is a little outdated, and the food is more like cafeteria food, but you can't beat the relaxed vibe and fun rides.

Matt U.

Yelp
A great spot for snow enthusiasts to go hang out for as long as your little heart desires! White Pass has been a favorite spot for as long as I've been around and continues to get better with time. They used to have the face and the backside - both of which ended in the same spot. They've now opened a second lift on the back, back side with great additional runs and some breathtaking views of Mount Adams. While they're not giving it always, $65 for a full day, any day if the week is less than you'll pay for a weekday at many of the other spots in the area AND they have a ton of snowpack so your not worrying about actually being able to ski. The lodge has some good eating options but is smallish for the size of the place and is often absolutely packed! The parking situation is also tough at times. Lots of parking along the sides of the road for a half mile or so in either direction, but it means you're walking a ways most times! Unless you get there early, in which case you'll probably get a close spot and you can just ski to your car. There's a gas station across the way from the ski hill and a couple spots to stop on the way back to Yakima. All have essentials (read: Snacks for the kids) and while it's a bit more expensive, your time is worth the extra $3 for chips and pop vs waiting an extra 30 minutes up top. Great bunny hill with a carpeted bunny hill lift! These kids don't know what hard is until they have to endure a true rope tow! Great spot, 45 minutes out of Yakima and 20 minutes out of Packwood - worth your time, every time!

Kim L.

Yelp
Such a great local, chill spot to have some fun in the snow. Spent three amazing days here and was pretty impressed with their ski lift and lodge. Everyone is really friendly and there were hardly, if ever, any lines for the chair lifts. Food was pretty decent. They offer cafeteria style at the bottom level and have great views from the second floor of the bar. After going to big ski resorts like Breckinridge, this was a nice change of scene. Not to mention, tickets are only $65. I hope this place continues to stay local.

A L.

Yelp
Great ski spot for families. My kids have had a great time learning in group lessons and the staff are wonderful. Took a "group" adult lesson with Rick, and it ended up being a private lesson on a less busy Friday. He was an excellent teacher and I would recommend him highly! The lodge is open and reasonably priced. Can't go wrong!

Whitney H.

Yelp
Great small ski resort. I completely failed at snowboarding but that was no fault of the wonderful instructor Avalon. My kids absolutely loved their first go at snowboarding and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The upper level where the bar is was fantastic! The food is overpriced for sure, especially when you compare it with the very reasonable rental/ski pass rates but it was good food!! We'll absolutely be back!

Pat F.

Yelp
I took my two young boys to White Pass today for their first time snowboarding. I've been snowboarding for over 20 years and I have never been turned away because the mountain is "sold out" of lift tickets. I've honestly never even heard of such a thing. Safe to say my family and I will never be coming back to White Pass.

Andre R.

Yelp
I came here in January 2021 and I really enjoyed it. This was my first time Skiing in the US other than crystal mountain and I really enjoyed it. The place is great. The online booking reservations for passes were seamless. Nice cafe and good food and drinks (not super expensive). Even though the lodge was closed because of the Corona virus the staff were very helpful, food and drink services were still offered outside. The myriad of skiing/snowboarding options was really nice and there were multiple options for beginners to the most expert people. The staff was chill and the ski rental shop had good options and was pretty cheap in my opinion. The passes were also really well priced. BEST OF ALL I BARELY WAITED 5-10 MINUTES MAX IN THE LIFT LINE DURING THE DAY ON THE WEEKEND! I had been to crystal mountain already and if I were to choose to go back to white pass or crystal mountain I would much rather go to white pass. I really enjoyed coming here!

Yelp
The lodge restaurant: The restaurant and bar at the bottom of the slope is set up cafeteria style. The items are basic cafeteria food, burgers, pretzels, fries, chilli. The upstairs bar upstairs is set up more like a pop up restaurant booth. The food at both is good and there are plenty of inclusive options. I had a a pretzel stick with nacho cheese from downstairs and a vege pizza from upstairs. Both were good. The service upstairs was much faster than downstairs. The pizza is more like a flatbread. It wasn't anything spectacular but satisfied the hunger cravings. My hunny had a vegetarian burger without a bun, he said it was great. The slope: I enjoyed the slope. Thursday there weren't many people around and we had a blast. The magic carpet was great fun and an easy spot to get our bearings. The lessons: we took snowboarding lessons and they were great fun. The instructor was nice and very patient. The lesson was half kids and half adults, which was challenging because we didn't want to accidentally run over a kid, but they liked to sit right in front of you and not move. I think we only got 1/2 of the actual lesson and about an hour of trying to motivate little kids to "go ahead and try it" or move out of the way. The instructor was so patient and didn't seem phased by this at all. The rentals: We rented all of our gear. The process was easy and efficient. The gear was in good condition and the customer service was great.

Yelp
We skied White Pass on the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2021, despite the fact that all lifts were not running there was plenty of variety for any level of skied. Head over to the paradise section of the resort and you won't be disappointed with views or snow conditiouns. Unfortunately, 2020 is the year of the pandemic the lodges aren't open for business and there's no lockers or storage for those of you who rent equipment, like me, to use. Inspite of the inconveniences caused by the pandemic, the staff operated effectively and efficiently despite the minor chaos that occured while returning my equipment. Expect to wear a mask while in line or indoors in any of the resorts buildings. As noted earlier the lodges aren't open so remember to bring a tailgate lunch and adult beverages. Beware, there's limited parking available and parking in the street maybe a challenge if it's snowing as snow plows may pack you in!

Thea W.

Yelp
We love White Pass! There is a lot of beautiful, open terrain and the staff is super laid back, accommodating and cool. The reviewers who had bad things to say about them must have come with their undies in a bundle, because we have been to this resort many times and have only had the experience of staff going out of their way to be kind and helpful. Seriously great customer service. Everyone who works there seems happy about it. This resort is awesome for skiers of any level. For a small resort, there are lots of different runs with a tons of open territory to explore. My boyfriend and I bring our own food and camp so we haven't eaten in the lodge, but I grab coffee there every morning (which is good) and the one time I had a beer at the bar, I left with a ton of new friends. The RV lot is spacious, well-maintained and has an immediate sense of community. We love White Pass and ski there as much as we can through the end of the season. Can't wait for it to open back up.

Becky W.

Yelp
The most unpretentious ski resort I've ever been to. How refreshing! Not a single posing blond in a fur-lined jacket and D&G sunglasses holding a chihuahua! Awesome. We snowshoed on a couple of surrounding trails near the resort (one groomed, one off-site) and enjoyed drinks and snacks in the main lodge bar. Looks like a great place to come for no-hassle runs and good times. The people in the yurt were super friendly - a great place to take your boots off, grab some cocoa and compare stories with fellow adventurers. One of their groomed trails actually feels more rugged than you'd expect - but there are FREE hiking trails nearby so take your pick. Note - the upstairs restaurant at the lodge closes early so it's all cafeteria style at night and the bar only has beer/wine, no hot toddies to warm you up. But there is a fireplace...

Richard F.

Yelp
First the good: The recent expansion of the resort added 2 new lifts and lots of new runs. Lift lines are short and snow is pretty good for being so close to the west side of Washington. The new High Camp Lodge is fun, has great food, and a great staff. The not so good: -The main lodge is a mess. Folks are allowed to come in the mornings, push tables together, and leave their bags. When people come in for lunch all the tables are empty but occupied with coolers and ski bags. The resort really needs to put a stop to this and start moving those items to a bag storage opening up the tables to people who are PURCHASING lunch and are looking for a place to sit. -The main lodge menu needs a revamp. The food tastes similar to a high school cafeteria. If they want to keep up with other northwest resorts a better, healthier menu is mandatory. - The two high speed quad chairs need more staff. On Saturdays and holidays the lines are poorly managed. People cutting and charging through lines making for a very unpleasant experience. Most northwest resorts have some one managing the lines were they merge to give skiers/boarders a better experience. Even little Bluewood does a better job at lift line management.

Gavin L.

Yelp
We had a great time on the snow. But... When it came to anything customer service related, you could have gotten better service from a purple elephant. Everything from the tickets, lifts, food, beverage, adult beverages, and all other areas of accommodations were not just poor, but unacceptable. After asking for comment cards, we were directed to a woman who said she was the close with the owner and would be happy to take our comments. Even after telling her of our experience over two days, she shrugged her shoulders and gave me the "sucks to be you" look.

Karen N.

Yelp
I was only on the Nordic side to cross-country ski, so that's all I can comment about. We went through the yurt, where everyone knew B and they were expecting us :) It was $40 for a day pass, ski rental, and a one hour lesson (which was just two of us, so it was really great). Trails were nice, we had a great time, and we're going back at some point (though running out of time this year). After a solid 5 hours of skiing, we went up to the lodge for a frosty beverage and watched all of the alpiners coming down. It was all quite nice.

Nic J.

Yelp
Umm did you go to ski?? If you read the reviews that have 1-2 stars they say, "good snow, no lines, lots of runs" then they say "but the food was crappy"..... Pack a sandwich! White Pass is a great place to SKI! I mean it, and it the mountain just doubled in size. It does take a minute to get back to the new side but it's awesome (740 acres!) . There are so many great runs, great trees, and if you look you can almost always make some fresh turns. No, there is no shopping mall at the basin (sorry, if you are from Colorado) but I think its low key feel makes this place great.

Phily B.

Yelp
Friendly for n00bz and advanced skiers/snowboarders * Nansay and I are an average skier and snowboarder respectively. This basically means we can handle most mid level runs without falling, but aren't exactly doing any crazy jumps. PROs: * We enjoyed the different runs in this area. On the paths I used I did get stuck in any flat areas. I was basically all downhill... which is awesome! * There is a changing room with lockers as well as a play place for toddlers. * Overall the staff was helpful and kind when we required help with finding different chairlifts or renting equipment. * The other skiers were kind and patient as well! Other ski resorts tend to have large amount of stuck up people... not that that bothers me, I live in Bellevue after all :p * Nansay's family came along. They are advanced skiers and mentioned they had a fun time on the black diamond. CONs: * Food and drink is expensive. This is obvious at any ski lodge though. Just bring your own food if this is a problem for you. * Someone mentioned this before... and I agree... the lodge is LOUD with plenty of bodies and voices bouncing off the walls OTHER COMMENTS: * I noticed some of the runs bleed into each other. Example: A easier run is near the base. A mid level run starts further up the mountain... halfway through the mid level run, you merge into the easier run. * This isn't so much a bad thing. It's actually a smart way to increase a run. FINAL THOUGHTS: It's rare that we are this far south... so we won't be visiting White Pass anytime soon. This quite frankly is a shame, because we had a really good time here!

Matthew R.

Yelp
Love it. Great family place. Ok so I have to add more for Yelp to say it's a review instead of a tip. We really love White Pass. Great family ski mountain. Tons of great snow this year. Reasonably priced season tickets when you get them in the sale. Friendly staff. Lots of indoor seating but on holidays it doesn't seem to be enough. Good thing though is that you get close to others and get a chance to visit. Kinda like a game where you are forced to meet people. Wish they had wifi for all the non skiers that hang out waiting for their families.

James C.

Yelp
I learned to ski here many years ago and want to echo the comments of Nic J. This is a great ski hill and people are downright friendly, including the staff if you show them a little appreciation. The past 2 weekends, I've brought friends here for their virgin White Pass experience and both times, they were hooked and can't wait to come back. Davey's Yurt has been a huge hit with my friends. It has a surprisingly wide beer selection including a new fave, Irish Death. Ski up, pop off your skis, grab a tasty beverage and pull up a picnic table with some strangers. You might make a new friend or two. Short lines, a good assortment of runs, and decent food all make this a good value for skiers. If you want the fancy Colorado scene, this is not your place. Stay home. That's just more mountain for the rest of us.

Ernest R.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at the White Pass Village Inn. It was fantastic and the manager Mark bunch went way out of this way when we left something in the room. You want clear to town and mailed it to us C.O.D. And then when the post office screwed it up he spent a lot of its own time trying to straighten things out. Thank you Mark it was a fantastic stay at the White Pass Village Inn

NicenCherry ..

Yelp
I used to board bachelor, Mt Hood and Skii Bowl. But I recently moved up to chehalis with my sis and her husband and I'm only 1 hr and 20 min from White Pass!! Awesome! So I took my nephew up there sat March 5th 2016. For night skiing It was POURING down rain the whole time, never letting up at all! We got in a couple runs but got SO drenched we had to quit so we sat in car eating are lunch and watched a Very Awesome fireworks display!! Looked so cool with snowy background! Anyway overall was a very fun night but hope to go back very soon without the rain.

Michael G.

Yelp
I moved to WA last April with the intention of trekking up to Stevens Pass and over to Crystal.... I'd never even head of White Pass. Well, I haven't missed a weekend since x-mas and the 20ft base up and glade skiing on the Couloir has treated me well. Skiers left off 6 and keep going. Being from NY I must say finding this little gem has made my winter.... that one is for free, if you want more you gotta pay up. Just got my 2011-2012 pass on sale today and I'm looking forward to getting my moneys worth before this season wraps up. More 12'+ POW days God... please? Yep, huge fan...... Awesome!!

Dl K.

Yelp
Nice ski area. No lift lines. High camp lodge pretty cool. Decent food. Friendly staff. Now, about the main lodge bar, the gal behind the bar serving, what a rude, condescending server. If you don't enjoy your job, QUIT. Hope I never have you take my order ever again. Really wanted to use the b word to describe her.

Sabrina M.

Yelp
From beginner to advanced, they have something for everyone. If you are a beginner like me they have a lower area lift pass, which is $27 instead of the regular $60 ticket. That was nice because most beginners will only use the lower level lift anyway. The reason I took away two stars is because: 1 - the food prices are ridiculous. We paid $28 for the prime rib and the roll was practically frozen. The meat was alright I guess, nothing special. 2 - the lodge is looooong overdue for a renovation. It's crowded and I constantly felt like I was fighting through crowds just to get to the restroom. Other than that it's a great place! Friendly staff, excellent skiing/boarding.

Adi H.

Yelp
I didn't get a chance to ski out here but we came out for a snowshoeing hike that you can use the cross country trails right across the street from the resort. The trails were not properly signed at all which made it really complicated to figure out if we wanted to stay on the trail longer, take a different one or head back. After finding the map when we were done we couldn't find any of the mapped trails but it was very enjoyable so I would come back and try to snowshoe there again. I did use the resort/lodge to grab some lunch and coffee which was just as you'd expect for a ski resort. They had sandwiches, burgers, fries, hot drinks, a bar upstairs and a lot of window seats to watch skiers and snowboarders on the slopes! The mountain seemed great to come back if you enjoy blue trails with some blacks and some greens.

Corey G.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the Nordic Trails of White Pass (i.e. the groomed crosscountry ski trails)----I thought I was going to be the first to yelp the nordic trails, but Becky L, and Kathleen M. beat me to it! :) I've been on these trails several times over the last 8 years. There are all types of trails (flats, steep climbs, and fun descents---as long as you don't eat it on the way down!). For Thurs-Sun one has to pay $11 for a pass, but that's such a deal, and heck if you can play hookie during the week, you can have the place to yourself and for free! The Nordic Center yurt is cozy and a nice place to take a break (also a place to change out of stinky clothes after a nordic workout!). A friend (justin g.) and I were able to tackle just about all the trails in about 90-120min. During our trip we didn't see anyone. I went on a solo 60min run and ran into about 5 fellow skiers. All in all, a great way to spend a day. I'm already itching to get back up on those trails. **oh, and if you spot a stray water bottle up there, it belongs to my friend!**

Jody F.

Yelp
Psssst!!!! White Pass has finally announced that their expansion should be ready to go for the 2010-2011 season. They are doubling the downhill area, adding lifts and another lodge. We had a great time skiing this weekend. The facility is well cared for, and the staff were great.

Bill T.

Yelp
This place has some decent terrain. The staff however is the rudest bunch of people. They do not care about their customers at all.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Gorgeous cross country and snowshoeing trails nestled within the mountains. Took a loop around the lake and expanded our route by jumping on one of the trails. Perfect mixture of hills, flat land, and choppy terrain. Staff in the yurt was helpful and friendly. Paid $11.00 for an all day trail pass, spent a few hours snowshoeing on a crisp sunny day...definitely worth it.

Nick D.

Yelp
White Pass is a little out of the way for me considering it's about 100 miles from the Tacoma area one way but it does offer something that many other local areas no longer do: crowd-free skiing. I've been here tons of times over the years and not once have I ever experienced a substantial lift line. The area itself it relatively small but they get some great dumps since they are relatively high in elevation and near Mt. Rainier. It' got 1500 vertical feet and the summit rests at 6000'. Tons of Nordic ski trails as well. Tickets are relatively cheap at $41 a day for adults. Season passes are killer at $600 per adult. White Pass still retains a bit of the old charm of decades past and has a great old lodge and restaurant at the base. You might want to make a weekend out of it so you're not driving 200 miles for a day of skiing.

Chuck N.

Yelp
White Pass had a promotion where I could use my Crystal pass, so I decided to make the trip over with my 17 year old daughter. We had our best day of the season...lots of different terrain and no long lift lines! I would have loved a little more steep, but will definitely be back.

Glenn C.

Yelp
I've been skiing at White Pass for over 35 years. I like the local feel to the ski resort and the skiing, however, I believe the management of the resort has become complacent towards the customer. During the weekday, they don't operate chair lift #4 that services what they call the "bird" runs, a popular area of the mountain to ski, but they charge a full lift ticket price. You can ski the area on the weekdays however the return to the Great White chair lift that you have to go to requires a long run out on a cat trail where the last part you have to "pole" across a flat area and its not fun. I understand they are trying to save money on their operation, but yet still charge a full lift ticket price for not a fully operational ski experience. The mid-mountain lodge lacks a quality selection of food items and the main lodge doesn't operate their "bar" food service during the weekday. What makes this all so frustrating is the ski area has no forum to provide customer comment about their services. The White Pass Ski area on the weekdays does not provide access to a quality operation or value. I now have the resources and time to ski at other areas than White Pass. It is disappointing the White Pass ski resort has lost the sense of customer service.

Mel P.

Yelp
Normally, ski resorts make you pay one daily price to ski the whole mountain. But what if you only use half the mountain? Can you pay a lower price? What if you are a beginner or you have young kids with you and don't plan to use the black diamond trails..... Here at White Pass, you CAN pay a lower price. How awesome is that? Our family of 4 paid $60 total to use the ski lifts, which was perfect for us. Plus, the snow was well groomed and fun to ski on. It's definitely the most family friendly ski resort we've been to so far and we are definitely coming back.

Vincent H.

Yelp
While White Pass is surely not a resort, it's definitely big enough that you won't be bored by the end of the day. It offers a variety of terrain and some great bump runs, especially of chair 4. However, while the ski area appears to be more on the intermediate to advance side, several of the intermediate trails in the new expansion area should be marked as greens. One of the things I liked about White Pass was that its food was not your typical low quality fast food. However, my experience with employees was quite limited, but I would recommend checking out this area out if you happen to be in the area or want explore a low key area. Lift lines were non existent and the grooming was great. In addition, you may just run into one of the Mahre brothers while skiing there. I did.

Ash b.

Yelp
Great area lots of stashes and friendly DO NOT LITTER HERE! You will get called out on it! It is a super fun, clean beautiful area. But be warned i had the worst HAMBURGER EVER here! Which makes no sense the have fresh beef like 15 miles away. Why do hillbillies eat such crappy food?
