My recent stay at White Sands Negril was a mixed experience, with both positives and several areas that could use improvement.||First off, something important that wasn’t clearly explained on the booking site: this resort has two separate sides—the beach side and the garden side. If you're staying in a garden suite, be aware that the beach isn’t on that side. You’ll need to cross the road to access the beach and the restaurant, which was a surprise upon arrival.||Check-in was smooth, and they welcomed us with water, which was appreciated. You’re given a wristband for security purposes, but honestly, the gate security felt a bit too relaxed. The barrier stays open during the day and although it closes at night, the gateman never asked who we were, which was concerning from a safety standpoint.||Rooms:
The room itself was very spacious, and a clothing rack was provided to dry your beach or pool wear, which was convenient. However, the walls are extremely thin. Unfortunately, we had to deal with hearing a couple having sex every night, which was quite disturbing and made sleeping very difficult. Whether they were loud or not, you can hear everything through the walls.||There were also some functional issues in the bathroom. The shower head is fixed in one position, and the water temperature fluctuates badly—it’s either scalding hot or ice cold, with no in-between.||Housekeeping is done every other day, and although there are no "Do Not Disturb" signs, the staff seemed respectful and didn’t move personal belongings. They did provide fresh towels and a bath mat, and emptied the trash, which was appreciated.||Beach towels are not complimentary—they cost $10, which was a bit disappointing for a beach resort.||Amenities:||* The pool is clean and a nice space to relax.||* There’s also a gaming area with a pool table and table tennis, which was a fun bonus.||* Wi-Fi is unreliable—it disconnects every time your phone locks, making it frustrating to stay connected.||||Final Thoughts:
White Sands Negril has potential, with spacious rooms, a good location, and some nice features. But the lack of clear information, poor sound insulation, inconsistent facilities, and weak security definitely affected the overall experience. I’d recommend it only if you're aware of what to expect, especially in terms of privacy and amenities.
