It was the best sunset we had seen on Lake superior. The water temperature was pleasant, and the rocks along the shore were magnificent. We took beautiful pictures and it is the memorial location for the Edmond Fitzgerald. A phenomenal place to sit and enjoy the gentle breeze and sunset. We didn't make it to the museum but have heard wonderful things about it.

Beautiful in the winter. Didn’t have to contend with crowds. The parking area was plowed as well as some of the of the walking access points.

I had a fascinating, beautiful and a Zen experience. The museum is a must-see and a comfortable amount of information as not to feel overwhelmed. It is $15 to see everything, which seems a lot, but it is contributing to the continued sharing of history with everyone. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, too.

Beautiful area to hang with family or relax. Restrooms weren't available. Perfect for family photos. Clean beach, please take your trash with you when you leave.

What a beautiful yet poignant reminder of The Edmund Fitzgerald. Beautiful sands, gift shop. We plan to return to spend more time there.

The museum was closed , Lake Superior was absolutely beautiful. If you haven’t gotten to the white fish lighthouse museum you should. Bring the kiddos along they will love it

We love coming up here in the winter when everything is closed. The beach is so peaceful and we enjoy how nicely the light house was taken care of!

The lighthouse and the surrounding buildings are just part of the Whitefish Point / Shipwreck Museum experience. The Observation deck Lake superior views are also nice. Plan on spending a couple of hours.

Yelp
Beautiful spot on Lake Superior. The beach itself is fantastic with lots of interesting rocks and water worn trees to explore. The lighthouse, and the surrounding buildings (museum, gift shop, etc), are a lovely monument to all of the lives lost in shipwrecks in Superior. The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in particular is really fascinating and worth a visit. There are also lots of great trails to hike and wander through around the complex, and some really wonderful bird watching spots to boot. It's worth a stop no matter what amount of time you're working with. If you have a half hour, wander up and down the beach for a bit. Got more time? You can spend a few hours digging into the history and the artifacts in the buildings and the lighthouse. They also offer overnight accommodations in the crew's quarters (but you'll have to call ahead and book in advance for that). History and nature buffs will love this spot, for sure.

Yelp
The most beautiful beach I've been to on Lake Superior. Beautiful location, beautiful sand and water. Not a single piece of trash in site. The lighthouse was absolutely beautiful, and the museum you definitely need to check out to get some awesome facts about Lake Superior, this lighthouse and its importance. Didn't find much of any beach glass but a perfect place to find your smooth stones!

Yelp
Easy to get to. There were bathrooms, lighthouse, shipwreck museum and beach with sand and rocks. We were not interested in the museum or going up in the lighthouse. We walked about for a few minutes and used their bathroom. Wish had spent some time on the beach ... looking for rocks. It's a lovely spot.

Yelp
The first lighthouse in Michigan built in 1847. The most important light on Lake Superior. No longer in service but, in the restoration process by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society. They have a very nice museum with many artifacts and a lot of history about some of the 200 shipwrecks lying at the bottom of Lake Superior. Admission to the museum includes a video, a tour of the Keepers quarters, and a 1923 Lifeboat Station Surfboat House. They also have information on the Edmund Fitzgerald along with the ships bell. You scan even stay there overnight in the 1923 restored Coast Guard Lifesaving Crew's Quarters. Well worth spending a half day there.
