We found out that Whitehall Lane Winery accepts walk-ins, so we decided to try our luck and see if they had a tasting spot available for two, and luckily, they did! Our host, Aubrey, welcomed us and briefed us on Whitehall's history. He's really knowledgeable and friendly. He started our tasting journey with some bubbles. He even gave us a tour of the winery property, walking us through everything from harvesting to wine production. It made the whole experience more immersive and interesting. We really like their 2023 Swan Clone Pinot Noir and brought a bottle home to enjoy. It was an amazing wine tasting.

Amazing winery! This property was huge and it blew my mind - It had the perfect indoor and outdoor spaces for large groups with a picturesque view of the vineyard, how did I miss it all these years. We took the wine tasting experience (through Marriott) and it was just perfect. Audrey - Our guide was so entertaining and knowledgeable. He was graciously pouring all the wines to us and sharing details about each wine They served cheese and crackers at the end of the tour too. Most importantly it is KID-FRIENDLY!! We took our 3-year old son and he enjoyed the tour as well (he enjoyed the treats more )

Google
We had a wonderful time with Aubrey. The tasting was great and the tour of the winery was the perfect cherry on top. Learned so much about Whitehall Lane and Napa!!

Google
Amazing Winery! Great History! Barbara was amazing and very knowledgeable. Beautiful Vineyard. Nice intimate space. The Chardonnay was delicious! The Cabernet Sauvignon was my FAVE! The Owner Mr Tom Sr was super friendly and still gets excited about talking about wine! They have post cards you can fill out that they will send off for you! Easy parking. Stop by after we did the Wine Train! Great experience! 10/10 Recommend.

Google
We visited with the St. Helena pass and had a wonderful experience. The wines were delicious and the setting was gorgeous, especially the patio.

Google
Our whole group had an incredible tasting experience at Whitehall Lane! Aubrey let our tasting and a tour around the property. The property is gorgeous and they are building a pickleball court! He also provided great insight and detail and all the different varietals we tasted. Our favorite turned out to be the Marchino cab although you can’t go wrong with any of their wines. I highly recommend visiting here for a tasting while you’re in the area.

Google
We had an elevated Cabernet tastIng and it was great! Laura explained everything from the soil to the weather the region experienced during the vintage we were tasting. Don't forget to let them know if you're taking your fur child ahead of time so they can make the necessary arrangements.

Yelp
Such a beautiful vineyard and a wonderful stop! When we arrived, one of the owners was working behind the bar and greeted us. We got a couple tastes before we started the tour, including one of their incredibly tasty blanc de noir. For the tour, we got tastings as we walked throughout the property. It's a beautiful space filled and you can tell there is so much care for the wine they produce. We look forward to drinking for Whitehall Lane at home and will definitely return when we're back in Napa!

Yelp
We visited Whitehall Lane last weekend. As the last winery of the trip, we had high hopes, and even then Whitehall rose above that. The wines itself were quite good, but what really made our visit special was our guide Aubrey. He really went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs, and is very knowledgeable about all of the wines. Highly recommend adding Whitehall as a stop in your next Napa trip!

Yelp
This weekend I stumbled upon a gem in St. Helena-Whitehall Lane Winery! The main tasting room features a bar tasting experience, and they have a private members only tasting room upstairs, as well a bocce court and gazebo behind the property. They offer several different tasting experiences, ranging from $30 - $90 per person depending on the experience. Everything I tasted was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to return! Be sure to stop in for a tasting at Whitehall Lane. Cheers

Yelp
Came here with 4 girl friends for our first stop of the trip. We did a tour and tasting with Aubrey and he awesome and so much fun. Loved the 2014 millennium cab, would definitely come back!

Yelp
We booked a complimentary tasting through our hotel and had the best time here. Aubrey was our host and he was incredible - so warm, welcoming, and genuinely treated us like family. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, even with our toddler in tow, which we really appreciated. The winery itself is beautiful - modern indoor tasting area with big windows and gorgeous views, plus a charming outdoor space with swings and cozy seating. It's the kind of place where you want to linger. They also offered a lovely selection of local cheese and crackers that paired perfectly with the wines. This was easily one of the highlights of our Napa trip. We're definitely coming back-and recommending it to all our friends!

Yelp
Came in a bit early for our 4pm tasting reservation and was guided by Jake. We were told they were preparing the winery for an event so there were tables set up throughout the barrel room. I was a bit disappointed because we were not taken to walk thru the room and missed out on some potentially awesome photos. Jake was knowledgeable and informed us of the fermentation process that only 7 bottles were left undergoing, quite interesting. We were then guided upstairs to their beautiful tasting room where we remained the rest of the tasting. The seats in the tasting room are private front facing booths that overlook the vineyard. We were seated in the back booths, furthest from the windows so our view was obstructed. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary cheese and nuts. They also provided some prepackaged sour dough corn bread crackers which we ended up devouring later on in our trip. Jake even offered us a to go container for left overs which was incredibly thoughtful. The wines were great and reasonably priced. I wish we got a bit of alone time to talk amongst ourselves and to take more photos. Overall, great winery, we ended up purchasing a bottle. Would return!

Yelp
So our last stop the wine tasting day with my good friend, @Robert J no I guess that doesn't work!! So anyway we arrived at the last place of Whitehall Lane Winery which stands prominently on Route 29 just before you get to St. Helena business area. We got in and spoke to Jake and unfortunately it was Jake's first week there and he didn't know much but he did walk us way out back to their outside patio! Where we finished the bubbles that we were poured earlier!! And then Jake brought us a mini cheese plate which was really nice!! Then we tried their Sauvignon Blanc and it was delicious I gave it a 4.1 and said this: Quite delicious SB and it had flavors of citrus, pear skin, Meyer lemon, grapefruit pith, green apple, and minerality and some jalapeño which is great!! Then we tried the Chardonnay from Petaluma Gap which has 30% new oak, the rest Stainless steel! I like it- it's a great wine! It's a nice balance between Chablis and Napa Chardonnay with medium minus acidity and easy drinking well with flavors of toast and buerre and citrus!! And then we had Jake's version of Pinot Noir which is a simple fruity style not the best wine. And after that we had the Cabernet named Mancino Lanciatore Casual elegance and from a rougher styled wine, as described by Jake from the winery!! It is more casual than the other cabs I've experienced today!! It has softer flavors of Blackberry juice and oak, vanilla, blueberry, cherry, cedar, light tobacco, baking spice, it's an easy drinker!! And finally we tried the big Daddy of their Cabs named from the Leonardini Vineyard Exquisite 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and it's from a prime vineyard in St. Helena at $125.00 the higher end for this winery!! I get intricate flavors of oak cherry blackberry jam, plum, chewing tobacco, old leather pants, bittersweet chocolate, toast, cedar box, and white pepper!! Excellent wine. Afterwards we went back up to the tasting room and tried their Malbec Quality Malbec with great body. It's full bodied and has tannins. 99% Malbec and 1% Merlot with flavors of blueberry, old leather, oak, fresh rolling tobacco, cherry, smoke, forest floor, earthiness, with great body and medium plus tannins and medium acidity! And lastly we had their dessert wine, named Belimuscato made from Orange Muscat and it has flavors of honey peach apricot dried apricot!! And I rated it 4.4/5.0. Then we were done and both of us purchased the SB and I also got the Chardonnay and the Malbec at a 30% industry discount!!

Yelp
Aubry was a wonderful host, we loved the tasting out in the back vineyard. We mostly loved the Pinot, the 22 cab and the cheese plates!

Kenneth D.

Yelp
Nice people, interesting tour great cheese and excellent 2015 Cab This is my very high praise

Sheila K.

Yelp
Just had an amazing experience here with Jake. He took great care of my husband and I, told us all about the grapes, property and must-dos in Napa and areas. Was incredibly friendly and easy to talk with, made the experience even more enjoyable. Ryan was also incredibly welcoming when we entered. All the wine is incredibly delicious. Thank you Jake we'll see you again. - David and Sheila

Yelp
I really like this spot and I really am appreciative of RJ. I wanted to try an off the menu wine and he obliged. Love this guy, he is so professional and knowledgeable. I shared with RJ that it my birthday weekend and I had weird service at the usual winery across the street and he totally hooked me up, changed my day and gave me a wonderful tasting. We are ordering some wines and definitely recommending to friends. Thank you RJ for completing my birthday in a beautiful fashion.

Yelp
Excellent, down to earth service and beautiful grounds. The wine is not bad either . Known for their excellent pinot and merlots, this family run operation delivers on the intimate feels and great quality wines. Love going to here
google avatar

Erik H.

Yelp
The Leonardini family has run this vineyard since 1993 or so and I find this a great place to take visitors and tourists to a place that is not far up 29. RJ is the tasting room manager and runs a great shop. They have a nice little retail store as well. Visiting here is very easy right off 29 and definitely in my rotation when I am playing non-drinking tour guide for my out of town friends. Grgich Hills and Whitehall Lane make a great 1-2 punch if you are traveling from SF and don't have time to drive far north in the valley.
google avatar

Ann L.

Yelp
Really enjoy our time here!!! Very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their vineyard & wine. Love the back sitting area with very modern furniture, esp the swing chairs. The wine was still young in our opinion but still overall great experience. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this wine tasting experience with Aubrey. He's very kind, knowledgeable, and has great customer care. He goes above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our wines. I was with my sister and 2 Swiss/Italian gentleman that drink wine on the daily. He's so nice and made sure we got the tour and explained each wine and where it's from. This is my 2nd experience here and RJ also treated us really well the last time we were here. Thank you!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Aubrey is fantastic!!! I'm a member and love the club. Great wines at all price points. Club is flexible. I highly recommend Whitehall Lane!!
google avatar

Court C.

Yelp
We are wine club members at Whitehall Lane and have now done our third private tasting there as club members and once again it was a spectacular experience. The wine was wonderful and they couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating to us. The new upstairs private tasting room has been remodeled and is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful views of 270° in Napa Valley.

Yelp
We visited Whitehall Lane Winery with the Winery Passport, which included a complimentary tasting for my husband and me. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our host, Aubrey, who made our experience exceptional. He gave us a fantastic tour of the property, sharing great conversation, fascinating history, and detailed insights about the wines and winery. Aubrey was incredibly knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and relatable, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We loved the tasting and ended up leaving with two bottles to take home. Highly recommend this winery--great wines and an even better experience!
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
Lovely smaller family owned winery. Fantastic tasting experience with knowledgable staff to enhance the experience. They know their stuff AND never made us feel bad about being wine newbies. RJ was terrific at teaching us about how wine works, and nomenclature. We loved our visit to Whithall/Leonardini!
google avatar

Sheri M.

Yelp
Amazing setting for tasting (we tasted in the member room that overlooks the vineyard and mountains), great wines, and friendly staff.

Laura T.

Yelp
Amazing! Our favorite winery in the valley. A must visit. The staff were phenomenal, especially Barbara and Caitlin. Love all the wines, so light and delicate. 10/10.
google avatar

Marcel W.

Yelp
Went to Whitehall Lane on recommendation and had a great time here. You can decide between sitting in a bar area or in the middle of stainless steel tanks (very chilly for heat days like 107°)! You get some cheese and almonds for your tasting to combine and pair it with the wines, that's a funny part. We felt pretty good hosted by Aubrey ! He took great care of us and gave us a great experience and service lots of information and the winery's history!
google avatar

Cheryl W.

Yelp
This the most amazing winery tour and tasting that I have ever been on. Jeremy was absolutely awesome. He was personable and incredibly knowledgeable about the production process. He responded to all of our groups questions with enthusiasm. He is very engaging and intelligent. Hopefully, he will get a YouTube channel talking about wine. His coworker Aubrey was very kind as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience with Laura who really took the time share her knowledge Cabernet and merlots! Delicious wines !

Yelp
Aubrey gave us a wonderful tour and tasting! He is knowledgeable and personable. Come to Whitehall for a tasting!! One of my faves is the rose sparkling wine .

Yelp
Such a wonderful trip. Our host was very knowledgeable, wines were quality and fair price. The outside patio was great- wish they didn't play music out there.

Yelp
We had a great experience arranged through the Alila hotel in St Helena. Theresa our concierge was helpful in coordinating a tasting at Whitehall for my birthday. We arrived and greeted by Jake. Jake welcomed us with a glass of wine and took us out back to their covered patio with expansive views of the vineyard and property for the full tasting experience. Originally from England, we were very impressed by Jake's knowledge of Napa wines and the region as a whole. He spent more time than allotted to give us recommendations in the area as well. We would recommend the tasting experience for anyone looking for an introduction to Napa

Caitlin W.

Yelp
We had an amazing time visiting the Winery. This was our first time visiting Whitehall Lane on a whim having frankly had a not great experience prior that day. Jake was delightful. From hearing about his journey to get to California, to his storytelling and great service. In the decade or so of us visiting Napa, this was by far the most memorable and enjoyable experience we've had. Highly recommend and highly recommend requesting Jake as your host. You will not be disappointed. The Wines were amazing, the service and views are spectacular.

Roger D.

Yelp
Very disappointed by the service & treatment experienced here. Coming from East Bay, there was more traffic than anticipated so we called ahead to see if they could give us more time to make our reservation. The tasting room manager RJ Ballou pushed our reservation by 2 hours because it was apparently very busy there. Fair enough we thought, but upon our arrival there was only one other table with a couple sitting in the outside patio full of tables. We had 2 couples, a newborn baby & a puppy in our party so after a long car ride, we asked if there were any food pairings as well. Our server scoffed at us & proceeded to pour our first tasting. Thought this was strange but tried to make the best of it, asking about their memberships offered. I left the pup's water bowl in the car so went back to grab it & when I came back, the other members of our party were alternating using the restroom so that the baby & dog were never left unattended. This time, RJ came back to pour us our second tasting but rudely said this was the last we would receive since our "whole party is too intoxicated." Confused, we asked how so & he said we had slurred speech, red eyes & walked wobbly. I actually wore sunglasses the whole time since it was sunny out. We looked around & realized we were the only Asian people there. This is supposed to be a family-friendly establishment, yet we were cut off as if we were being loud & obnoxious at a bar. The baby never even cried nor did the dog bark, yet RJ apologized to the other party for our alleged nuisance. It was a classic act of discrimination, so we didn't bother drinking our second/last pity pour & just packed up to leave. It's 2023 #StopAsianHate

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience with Aubrey, he was very informative about all the wines. Highly educational in a beautiful setting and the wines are superb. The pairings of cheese and almonds matched the wines beautifully. The service was impeccable.

Gerald M.

Yelp
Great wines, great atmosphere but the customer service really stood out. RJ was very knowledgeable and friendly and really made our time special. The snacks/cheese he picked out really paired well with the tasting. You will definitely be seeing us again. Thank you RJ.

Jim G.

Yelp
Good wine great service. We stopped in by chance looking for a last glass of wine. We did a tasting and we are glad we did. Jake was creative and was able to change some things to better fit what we like. Great service. We will come again next time we come through.

Yelp
My husband and I recently visited Whitehall lane on a trip to Napa. We were so pleasantly surprised! We loved every wine, our host was fantastic, and the cheese, nut, and cracker plate was a nice addition to our tasting. We became members and can't wait to go back.

Priyanka S.

Yelp
Aubrey was a wonderful host! highly recommend having him as your host! love the place as well. super friendly and really good wine!

Yelp
We came here for my birthday in February and this was our first tasting of the trip. Jeremy and Aubrey set the bar so high for the rest of the wineries. They were so educated, funny and personable! The wine tasting consisted of 6 different wines, cheese and almonds. The wines were great but that cheese was also so memorable. After the tasting, Jeremy had a little time to show us around the vineyard. If you are in the area and looking for a great experience, I would check this place out!

Yelp
Bryan is a huge asset to this winery. He is knowledgeable about the wines and knows stellar hospitality. Luckily, due to Covid, we were treated like VIP's and received an exclusive tour through their wine making process and upstairs overlooking the remarkable vineyards. We enjoyed our tasting experience immensely. Bryan gave us a backstory of the winery and the Leonardini Family. Property near and along Whitehall Lane is gold. The grapes thrive along this stretch of St. Helena. This winery knows how to make bold tasty reds, can't go wrong with the Cab, Zin, and Pinot Noir. Can't wait to come back, impressive! 'Til next time ~ cheers & see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

Lisa W.

Yelp
First time in Napa and @WhitehallLane was the last winery of the day! Aubrey delivered the most unforgettable experience of the day. We walked away w/ some incredible wines & an amazing and informative wine tasting session. We will definitely be back! Thank you Aubrey!

Trish L.

Yelp
We selected Whitehall Lane as one of the complementary tastings through Harvest Inn. We had read great reviews about Whitehall Lane. Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed. When I made the reservation, the woman on the phone told us that because we were visiting in February (off season) that we would be given a tour of the winery. Not only did we not have a tour, but we were just given a place to stand at the bar for the duration of the tasting. We did ask about seeing other areas of the winery and were not given any other options or views. I wish we would have known this before as it is very difficult to choose what wineries to visit during a visit to Napa. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Kera L.

Yelp
Hands down the best tasting room, staff, wine and wine club! The Leonardini family knows what they're doing. I've been a loyal and proud wine club member for over 6 years and I feel like family as soon as we step in to the winery. Highly recommend stopping here for a tasting. Be prepared to be wowed! We love you Whitehall Lane!

George C.

Yelp
Thank you Aubrey for making our tasting experience truly memorable. You have a warm and welcoming presence. We felt right at home and learned more about wines and what makes the Napa Valley so special.
google avatar

Tanvir B.

Yelp
Jake provided excellent service. He was witty and kept pace with our group, but also very knowledgeable on the wines served. I highly recommend visiting.
google avatar

Jasmit D.

Yelp
Went here on a wine tasting through the wine trolley we had booked. This was one of the first wineries we visited. It is a beautiful property/winery. Very modern and crip in comparison to other wineries. We were allowed to go inside, where you can see tons of wine barrels aging and we had our tasting in that room as well. I believe Scott was the one who was giving us the tour. He was extremely informative. Really knew what he was talking about. We got to keep our little wine tasting cups and I even won the raffle were I didn't have to pay for my wine tasting! We unfortunately weren't able to do a full tour because Scott said the grounds were wet due to the rain that happened the day before. That was a huge bummer. The tour was really only secluded to a certain small area. But you do have opportunities for some great photos. If you are looking for a "cozy" old style, European or some other style winery. This isn't it. This is definitely more modern winery and not much lounging or seating areas either. But it is a great winery. And I do recommend it should be checked out if you are in the area.

Yelp
Incredible return visit after 7 years. We were lucky to get paired up with Jake who expertly guided us through our tasting. So impressed we returned 2 days later for the reserve tasting, requested Jake again - who guided us through a journey of their best wines. He regaled us with their family story, winemaking process, etc. He was a total pro. They have a lot of updates to their outdoor space as well, country vineyard feel right by the vines, shaded and private. Best of all they take care of you, and you never feel "rushed" - I cannot recommend this winery enough.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here with friends and family for a tasting and experienced a very interesting interaction. We showed up after rescheduling the appt due to traffic. After being served our second drink we were told they're no longer serving us and this 2nd drink is the last due to the fact that we're intoxicated. This caught us by surprised and didn't know how to act. We're the only Asian group at the venue and got this treatment. We didn't even bother with the second cup because if you deemed us as intoxicated and not worthy of service, WHY DID YOU SEVERED US THE LAST GLASS?!! Claiming that due to California laws, they will not serve Intoxicated guest.... Then why not just cut us off but served us a second cup and claim that we're too drunk to finish our tasting ..... We actually called back to verify why our group was denied service and was told to that we "looked intoxicated". We asked can you give us specifics to why you think we're intoxicated and was told we "all looked and acted drunk". We were told due to our eyes and speech they deemed us intoxicated. So being the only Asian at the establishment means we're intoxicated.... Cool!! First off, we were not all sitting at the table when service happened. They felt and expressed that under their perception we were not serviceable, 2 Asian couples with a puppy and a baby. We also heard them expressing condolences to our white neighbors for us sitting there. We have a designated driver since my new born child is in the car, but somehow the staffed deemed our whole party as intoxicated... although we weren't all there at the same time. Discrimination comes in a lot of form and it's crazy to think we were told, "your eyes and speech indicated you're intoxicated" & "maybe you guys should come earlier in the day". Never again will we come to this establishment. I do not need to be judge by how I look. Sorry we do not have big buggy eyes or speak the way you want to hear. For you to call us intoxicated with no proof is shameful and discriminatory.

Yelp
Walked in yesterday and we were greeted by RJ who kindly offered to do the wine tasting with us. We tried a wide range of their wines, from sparkling brut to cabs and others. RJ was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We would certainly visit again. Thank you RJ for a lovely experience!

Yelp
WOW! One of the best wine tasting experiences that I've had in Napa Valley! Not only was the wine tasty, but the service that we received from Bryan was superb. Give that guy a raise right NOW, damnit! He clearly knows his wines and really enjoys what he does. And quite frankly, we enjoyed it too. Came here about a month ago for a tasting with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Whitehall Lane is conveniently located along the beautiful Saint Helena Highway. They've got such a darling estate! I'll admit that it looks small from the outside. However, if you get a chance to taste on their back balcony, you will seriously be in for a treat! Bryan gave us a short tour of their grounds and every stop was pleasurable. We stopped in their barrel room where we were able to see their huge stainless steel fermenting barrels as well as their many French and American Oak barrels. It was crazy to feel the difference in temperature between the stainless steel barrel room and the oak barrel room. He explained which wines were aging in which barrel and their wine making process. We passed by one of their member only tasing rooms and it was so adorable! Bryan took us upstairs to their back balcony tasting area (not sure if this was a member's only area?!) and it was stunning!!! I would have never guessed that the view would have been so beautiful. It was absolutely perfect. He poured us wines from their current tasting menu plus a few other wines based on our palate. Geezus! The wine here is so SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Definitely Napa Valley all the way through. During the tasting, he pointed out which vines were used to the make the wine and where they were grown (most were right behind their property!). I honestly loved just about every wine that I tasted here which is so rare (especially when I'm tasting in Napa Valley. Ironic isn't it?!). But wow, their wines truly blew me away. I enjoyed their cabernet and Pinot Noir and fell in love with both their Syrah Rosé and their Zinfandel. Ended up buying a bottle of their Zinfandel and Rosé. Now that I think about it, I should have just grabbed a bottle of their amazing Cab too. Next time for sure! Speaking of Cab, Bryan poured us a taste of a sensational 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon that literally made my eyes roll to the back of my head. This bottle was at least a few hundred dollars (at LEAST)! The fact that he poured this for us was insane, but Lord knows that I appreciated every second of it. He used a Coravin wine bottle opener which pokes a needle through the cork and releases the wine while allowing argon gas to enter the bottle. The argon gas allows the remaining wine to remain fresh and preserved. My first time ever seeing or hearing about this device, but what a magnificent invention. If I had tons of high priced bottles laying around, I would invest in a Coravin too! But anyways, I'm just thoroughly impressed with every element of Whitehall Lane! Bryan was AMAZING and we loved, loved, LOVED the wines. I don't taste in Napa Valley too often these days, but I will definitely be making a trip back just to come back to Whitehall Lane! Loved it here!
