Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island

Had an absolute ripper of a stay at Whitsunday Apartments! The whole place is brilliant, really well set up and super comfortable. The location can’t be beaten either – waking up to those views is something special.|But honestly, what made this trip memorable was the team. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Special shout-out to Zuri, who was genuinely fantastic. Always had a smile, sorted out anything we asked for without any fuss, and just made us feel really welcome. Felt like staying with friends rather than at a rental, you know?|The apartment itself is great – clean, modern, and everything you could want. Only thing I’d mention is the windows could use better sound insulation. There’s a bit of noise coming through from outside, especially in the morning when things start to pick up. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper. A bit of earplugs and you’re sorted though.|Would definitely book here again. Cheers to the team for making it such a good experience!

Booked for two nights, didn’t manage to check in on the first night due to weather and transport cancellation. First thing in the morning (of our second night) we arrived and checked in knowing our room was ready for the night before that we had paid for. Was told room wasn’t ready yet as the check in time was 2pm. We explained have booked for the night previous as well but just didn’t make it on time so we should have the keys available for us right now. No apology but told we could get a refund (after we asked) for the first night. Email to follow was subject ‘cyclone cancellation’ instead of ‘sorry we gave your room away to someone else because you didn’t check in at exactly 2pm on the first night’ - what if we booked that room and wanted to arrive at 7am and have a room right away?? Mistakes and a double booking has occurred but just apologise for it. Also to add, young woman with long brown hair and glasses has absolutely shocking customer service. Considering she is probably choosing to live on Hamilton island and working in a customer face role instead of cleaning rooms, she needs to rethink her attitude. Occurred with us on the first day at check in and gave her benefit of the doubt it had just been a bad, busy day but then watched her with another handful of customers whilst we were checking out the next morning and turns out she’s just naturally fluent in rude. No eye contact, very dismissive (and not just for the complaining customers) and doesn’t have the time of day for her job. Extra star given to =2 considering the room is nicer than the reef hotel ones that we also stayed at.

Wonderful stay at Whitsunday Apartments We had a fantastic stay at Whitsunday Apartments. The location is perfect, the apartments are comfortable, and the views are absolutely stunning. What truly stood out was the staff, warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A very special thank you to the cleaning staff. The apartment was spotless, beautifully maintained, and clearly cared for with pride. Their hard work made a real difference to our stay. We understand that Hamilton Island has recently been sold to American owners. We sincerely hope that the island’s management continues to protect and preserve the relaxed, friendly Australian values that make this place so special. Hamilton Island has always been a destination Australians feel welcome at, and we hope it remains accessible and inclusive, rather than becoming an exclusive playground only for celebrities in the future. Thank you to the entire Whitsunday Apartments team for a memorable stay. We look forward to returning.

We have just had an amazing stay here. The views over the bay were amazing. It was very quiet around the pool unlike other hotels in the resort. |The staff are all polite and the place is really clean. |Loved how we could just eat in if we wanted to and have a leisurely breakfast on the balcony instead of being on a timetable|Tips |I would recommend booking a buggy in advance to get around the island. The bus is good but you’re then restricted to bus times if you don’t.|One tree hill is a good vantage point for sunset but gets super busy so get there early. |Glass bottom boat tour was a bit lacklustre.|Supermarket shuts really early and it’s the only place to get groceries so I would make it a property

By far the biggest asset is the million dollar view from the apartments. It took our breath away when we entered our upper floor apartment for the first time. I imagine that the view from the lower floors, while different, would be very good, as well. Our apartment was very spacious and clean, although somewhat dated. The furnishings were practical but not luxurious. The sofas in the lounge area were a weird construction that, I’m guessing, were made so that they could also serve as additional bedding for family groups. As a result, they weren’t comfortable to actually sit on. ||The kitchen has basic equipment and, with a small supermarket near-by, self catering would be possible. We enjoyed several self-catered breakfasts on our balcony enjoying the incredible view. ||Note that only minimal housekeeping services are provided. I’m not sure that any actual cleaning is done. We received clean linens after 3 days of use and the bins are emptied daily.||The property is well-located with easy access to restaurants, the beach, resort facilities, walking tracks and the marina area for day trips to the reef and Whitehaven Beach.

We loved staying at the Whitsunday Apartments on Hamilton Island. We're so grateful my daughter recommended it to us. The apartment we stayed in was on the 11th floor, it was very clean and spacious, the views were absolutely spectacular. Great position on the Island, better than staying on the Marina side. We just walked out to the beach each day and the snorkeling was amazing with so many different kinds of fish, we even saw a big turtle. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. There's a free bus right outside the hotel which arrives every 20 minutes and takes you to the marina side of the Island if you need to go to IGA or the Cafe's and restaurants on that side of the Island. We also hired a buggy for a day to explore the Island. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on Hamilton Island, we would definitely stay at the Whitsunday Apartments again on our next holiday to the Island. Thank you for a truely wonderful experience.

Room had a beautiful view overlooking the beach and bay. Nice outdoor patio. Room was large and comfortable. One downside is we couldn't keep patio doors open because then birds would fly in. Easy to get to from airport with shuttle bus and to get around island with a buggy rental. Provided towels, which was very nice as well.||Restaurants were a close walking distance by the wallabies.

We stayed at the Whitsunday Apartments for four nights during our trip through Queensland. There was a free transfer from the airport, and the apartments were spacious and clean. We had a Coral Sea View apartment on the 13th floor, which gave spectacular views over Catseye Bay, including unbelievable sunrises. We even spotted humpback whales breaching from our balcony, which was an unforgettable highlight. Sitting outside for breakfast and lunch was amazing, and we were often joined by cockatoos hoping to steal something.||The location was excellent, with the green shuttle arriving every 15 minutes, although it was only about a 10-minute walk over the hill to the marina. As long as you are on the central strip of Hamilton Island—either on the marina side or the Catseye Beach side—there really isn’t a bad place to stay, as everything is within walking distance.||We were travelling with our three children, so we didn’t use a golf buggy as none could seat more than four people. The reception staff were all very friendly. Although the apartment pool was too cold to use during our July stay, there was another pool just in front of our apartments that was lovely and warm. The sea was also warm, shallow, and very safe for children. We were able to walk far out into Catseye Bay and saw stingrays and fish.||While some of the other accommodation on the island may have a more luxurious or boutique feel, I don’t think you can go far wrong with these apartments. I would highly recommend them.

Great Accommodations! Great price for beautiful apartment with breath taking views all day long! The location is within short walking distance to restaurants, the small zoo (with one on one koala bears) and shops. What I loved the most was watching the kangaroos grazing on the front lawn everyday! BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

This is a great and affordable place to stay. The rooms are incredibly spacious with a large bedroom, living area, and dining area. The views are outrageous as they look out over Catseye Bay. The downsides include the staff, Internet, and cleanliness. The staff at the front desk are seriously lacking in the friendliness department, the internet is only available in the lobby, and we had cockroaches in our room. Despite all of that, we had a lovely stay. The pools and surrounding grounds are absolutely gorgeous and Hamilton Island is top notch.

Whitsunday Apartments is considered one of the cheapest accommodation on Hamilton Island. For over $200+ (low season in august) per night , I was expecting something slightly better but knowing how expensive everything is, it's not too bad. NOTE: The hotel is undergoing remodeling to their ocean view rooms but to my disappointment, they were not ready when I checked in.....so my review below is based on the older rooms. The ocean-view room is HUGE ! It can definitely fit 3-4 adults or a family comfortably. The decors were 80s style (see pictures), so everything look really old ! However, it is clean. The hotel only changes your towels every FOURTH day, does not clean your room but clears out your rubbish bin daily. TIPS: It's definitely worth the money to upgrade to a ocean-view room. You wont regret !

Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building the rooms actually really good and spacious. Make sure you get a room with ocean views! It's absolutely beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a sea view room on the 5th floor (definitely worth paying for the sea view) and enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff have been very friendly and helpful during our time here. The pool is excellent and only being short walk to the main beach (Catseye) was also a big plus. Family friendly accommodation all round. Also, the WiFi strength is pretty good; it allowed me to post this review promptly!

The Whitsunday Apartments are an inexpensive option on a very expensive island. Pros: Amazing View from the upper ocean front apartments. The apartments are over 900 square feet so pretty big. Cons: graffiti in the elevators, lobby is ghetto and wifi service is virtually non existent in the lobby and there is no access in your room. The Reef View is the next step up but that seemed almost as bad just more expensive. Stay at the "Bungalows". I would not return to the Whitsunday Apts.

Well after being a little put off by the motel exterior I was not looking forward to witness the interior, but boy was I impressed! Level 9 the views are Phenomenal the room is modern and well equipped I wish I was staying for a month! Very impressed

The reviews I read of this hotel left me a little unsure of what I would get, but I was blown away when I got there. We had a renovated room and I paid extra for a sea view, but after seeing the hotel in person, it looks like every room has a sea view. Perhaps the sea view rooms are just higher so you can see over the trees? Anyway, the hotel way absolutely stunning. Lovely LVT that looks like wood, stainless steel appliances, large white backspash tiles in the kitchen, large glass shower with a rain shower head and a handheld sprayer (which works pretty well to have two people in the shower at the same time). There is a couch and sink in the bedroom, and two couches out in the living area. The entire wall that faces the ocean is made of glass so you get a stunning view of the ocean. The cockatoos will often come visit you on your porch too, but make sure not to leave food out there or you'll get some bird droppings. I only had two minor complaints while staying here and neither are about the hotel. 1) The food on the island is pricey, but having a kitchen helped with that. We bought some pasta and sauce for $10 at the local general store. There's probably no other way to feed two people for $10 on this island. 2) There are smokers everywhere! Sitting on the balcony was often ruined by the persistent cloud of smoke from neighboring balconies. I really can't recommend this hotel enough though. The staff were very friendly and our room was kept tidy and clean by the staff. The location is amazing, and the ocean feels like a spa. I rarely go swimming because I am always cold, but I stayed in the water for hours. I would love to go back here. Oh, one other complaint. They charge you $60 if you don't clean your dishes, which apparently tells guests to quickly wipe down their dirty dishes and shove them in the cupboard to avoid a fee. I have pretty high standards when it comes to washing dishes which were clearly not shared by the guests before me. I would feel a lot better knowing the dishes were cleaned properly by trained staff rather than just wiped to appear clean by guests in a hurry. But as long as you're willing to wash your dishes before and after you use them, then it's a non-issue.

Beautiful spacious very clean apartments with an absolutely amazing view. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any and all questions and convenient to have buses there running every 15 minutes. The only thing I wish they had was on site dining and a bar.

Older style accommodation. My husband and I were very happy with everything provided, however we are not very fussy. Towels changed every other day, toiletries replenished and rubbish removed daily. Accommodation clean and view excellent. Only downside was the uncomfortable bed, neither my husband or I slept very well. Staff friendly and helpful.
