Whitworth Locke, Civic Quarter

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and even gave some great food recommendations, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The room itself was spotless and very spacious, with everything you could need for a longer stay—stove, full fridge, washing machine, and even a dishwasher. We were only there for one night, but it would be perfect for a longer visit. The bed was really comfortable, and the dining area in the room was a great addition. The only minor downside was that the room wasn’t very soundproof, so outside noise was noticeable. However, this wasn’t a huge issue—earplugs would easily solve it. The bar was reasonably priced, and Foundation Coffee was a standout, with excellent coffee, pastries, and friendly service. Overall, a fantastic place to stay in a brilliant location. I’ll definitely be returning!

A massive shout out to Erin, Hannah, and the rest of the team. Me and my partner started using this hotel every time we stayed in Manchester a few years ago and will continue to always stay here. The rooms are lovely, the beds are so comfy, reasonably priced and the staff are amazing. I informed them that it was my partners birthday and they left a lovely note in the room and a neon sign. They really go above and beyond. Thank you so much for everything, we can't wait to come back ❤️

Highly recommended place to stay in the very centre of Manchester. It's a few minutes walk from the Gay Village and all the shops. The staff are lovely and friendly. Very professional and always smiling. Our accommodation was first class. Very clean and very well fitted out. It's not possible to fault this place. We had such a lovely stay for New Year's Eve. We'll definitely come back!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. It is an old building so the rooms are not really soundproof - we could hear the people above walking around constantly. Even though the room is stunning, it was incredibly dark - there are a lot of small lights but no big light in the main room or kitchen making it hard to see. However, the room is decorated well and there are all the things you could want in a mini-apartment - pots, pans, cutlery, plates, glasses, kettle, a stove top, toaster and an electric oven. The hotel really has gone above and beyond to make the room feel like a home away from home.

we stayed two night at this hotel and what an experience!! the hotel was amazing! we were really impressed by the interior design of it. the rooms were really specious and looked cool, the only thing we didn't like was the lighting as it was really dimmed at night even with the lampshade. the staff were really welcoming and nice, they helped us by answering our many questions and they gave us tokens for free drinks from the cafe because we were celebrating our graduation! overall it was a nice stay and i'm definitely coming back!

The best place to stay in Manchester - without a doubt! The building is absolutely stunning, the decor/vibe is very chic and all parts of the stay were fabulous. Comfortable bed/sofa, kitchen with all the appliances, stylish decor, friendly staff, very convenient/central location and much better value than similarly priced hotels. Obviously you're staying right in the city centre so if you're a light sleeper like me you may need ear plugs, but other than that it was a perfect stay. I can't wait to return!

Stayed for the first time this week and loved it! Facilities and rooms are great. Staff were exceptional and provided an amazing service. The microwave in my room was broken and Kieran went above and beyond to help. I would recommend Whitworth Locke to anyone staying in Manchester.
