Nice store. Wish they had more vegan baked goods in their bakery, but the place was clean and well organized. Would recommend.

Came from Dallas to Flagstaff for a lunch meeting and went to Whole Foods to buy wine as a gift for the family I was visiting (I’m over 21). A young staff member gave me unusual attitude when I went to check out and said “we don’t take vertical IDs” and took the Pinot away with a snarky look. I followed up with walking next door and buying the exact bottle of Pinot at the local wine shop. I’ve bought wine from WF with my TX ID many times both in TX & CA locations - hope this location can improve on customer service.

AWESOME ! When I got Stranded by weather after a 29 train ride where my connector couldn’t get me the remaining 37 miles home this was the sanctuary of food and beverage for me. staff was excellent in handling my questions and they have the deli, coffee bar, smoothies and salad bar too! most excellent! will definitely be stopping in for food & more during my travels with this connector town ☺️

Google
Nice store with plenty of products. Petticoat is a little high. When we couldn't find what we were looking for, the person stocking wasn't much help. But relativity friendly. It seemed pretty busy.

As a liberal and a furry, I’ve always appreciated businesses that promote inclusivity and community—so I expected better from Whole Foods in Flagstaff. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but welcoming. The store itself is fine, but the customer service was awful. The manager, Heidi, was unkind and dismissive when I asked for help, making me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. It’s disappointing to be treated this way in a place that claims to support diversity and acceptance. I won’t be returning to this location, and I can’t recommend it to others.

Google
great WF’s- super clean. But the yellow 50% off stickers can’t scan at the check out - and the associate must manually do it. Often if I’m distracted getting prime qr code to scan and payment arrangements fumbling with wallet, I forget to let them know about the sticker; and usually the cashier NEVER sees the yellow sticker. It’s a truly archaic form of discount. If you are yellow sticking it; discount it over the old price with the now 50% off price On TOP of the upc or place the Yellow 50% off on the top of the item, duh lol … not on the items smaller side. Cashiers here pleasant and smiling, and patient, which I’m assuming is often difficult with those more concerned about peoples prounouns. I appreciate customer service reps in a super liberal store who actually smile and care and aren’t hell bent on some sort of agenda.

Tried ordering pizza at 720pm, they state they close at 8pm. When trying to order both employees lied straight to my face about missing ingredients, and then after saying there are only a few pizzas cooking. I told them that they just want to close and go home, they smiled with disrespect. I walked away, came back to look at dessert and three people standing around chatting, joking around. Extremely disappointed in Whole Foods on this one. I would have fired all three if they were my employees!

I ate a slice of pizza from here about a year ago and woke up at night sick with severe stomach cramps. I made sure to never eat pizza here again after that experience. But I usually do purchase their sushi and have been for a year or so. Last night after eating the sushi, I got the worst food poisoning for 2 days. Never again will I buy any prepared meals from this location. It is very unsafe to eat here. Plus they are understaffed and the vibe here is so depressing. The staff is mostly on break at the juice/coffee bar, and good luck returning items for amazon. The kiosk is done or the return amazon counter is always on break. So many redflags at this location. You can tell this place is poorly managed. I Will never eat here again after twice getting sick from the pizza and now the sushi. The health department needs to visit this place for all the food code violations.

Yelp
We've been fortunate to spend time in Flagstaff as a family each summer for as far back as I can recall, and every trip here, I find so much joy doing my shopping at this Whole Foods Market. Yes, it's smaller than many WFMs, but remember, we're in a small town! Staff is friendly, food is fresh, check-out is fast and efficient, there is a decent variety of brands and products, a sit-down area to eat if you're wanting to dine on premises, convenient parking, etc... Note: the coffee / juice bar and deli area hours are not the same as the store, but you can always find what you need. Enjoy your time and fresh food in Flag!

Seashore L.

Yelp
Best Fried Cod in town in their deli section. Ample seating. They have daily meal specials. Their burgers and fries are good. The young woman that worked there offered to deep fry the tortillas for the tacos

Yelp
Small for a whole foods and awkwardly laid out. We stopped in because this whole foods was on our route to our camping spot. It was a bit of a frustrating stop and we almost left to go to another store. Food selection: There was no bulk section in this store. That was pretty disappointing for us. It was made up for by the larger than expected cheese section ! Parts of the produce needed to be refilled. We stopped in on a Saturday at 5pm and noticed that produce we wanted were running quite low. For those that weren't, they're was a noticeable amount that was over-rip (especially in the tomato area). There was a pre-made food and sushi section. A lot of that was in need of refill as well. Size/layout: The store was smaller than we expected and probably the smallest whole foods I have been to. This is not necessarily an issue except that it limited selection. It also wasn't laid out well - there were choke points all over the store which created lots of traffic in those areas. Prices: While we do expect to pay a certain higher amount at whole foods, the prices here compared to Texas were incredibly inflated. I'm sure they're comparable with other stores in the area but definitely something to be aware of. Parking: There's quite a large parking lot for rhe size of the store, so plenty parking ! Misc; There is a bar/restaurant plus inside and patio seating for it. The shopping carts are quite far from the entrance door. We actually didn't see them at first because of this and took a hand basket. They do have an Amazon return and pickup

Monica R.

Yelp
Grocery pickup & self service hot ready made Pizza ambiance just right today. Been craving pizza but didn't wanna waste a whole pizza so this was perfect.

Mary P.

Yelp
This is a great stop when passing through! Not only are the bathrooms clean, but they have healthy food options and amazing sandwiches. I ordered one of my new favorites, the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich on a ciabatta roll. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I would return.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Good selection of foods, supplements and grab n' go items. Customer service is hit or miss. A few employees who have been there a while like Alred are super helpful, some of the others are less helpful/friendly. New college hires have been really friendly! Overall easy to shop, helpful when you need an item you can't find. The bakery does a great job accommodating and offering options, and the butchers are the best we have dealt with. Always helpful always share cooking tips and ideas and have never steered me wrong!

Angela C.

Yelp
My review is only for the bakery department. I ordered a 6" Berry Chantilly cake for my son's birthday from here a week before pick up. I was on hold for a long time and they had to transfer me again since no one picked up. Once I got on the phone with someone, they were able to take my order quickly and asked me about customizing options. I ordered the cake with no almonds on the side and Happy Birthday writing on the cake. The day of pick up, I arrived to the Whole Foods, but couldn't figure out how to get someone to help me. There didn't seem to be a person assigned to the bakery department, people were just walking behind the counter doing other things, no one asked me if I needed help. I eventually saw an older gentleman walk up to the bakery counter and he was able to get assistance. So once he left, I asked the man working for my cake order. He was helpful and brought out my cake and mentioned that I should leave the top a little bit open so I don't squish the cake down and ruin it. Service here is good, once you can get someone to help you. The cake itself was delicious - it's not super sweet like other supermarket cakes! It was my first time eating this, but came highly recommended from a friend. I now know why it's a cult favorite!

Beth C.

Yelp
I was here for the cheese and they didn't disappoint. The variety was great, and I had some new finds! Check out was fast and friendly. The store location had a decent parking lot, too, and it wasn't hard to get in and out.

Isabella J.

Yelp
During a recent trip to Flagstaff, this Whole Foods was the closest to our airbnb. It's smaller than other Wholefoods stores we frequent, but it met all of our needs. It always nice to be able to find all your regular grocery items when you're on the road. We found everyone to be very nice and the store is well appointed.

Karen W.

Yelp
This seems like probably the smallest Whole Foods I've shopped at. They pack in as much as they can in this space which makes it feel a bit cramped as a result. I was looking for some items that the Whole Foods I regularly shop at has but was sadly disappointed that they didn't offer it.

Marina M.

Yelp
I have always really liked Whole Foods cakes because they aren't overly sweet or artificial tasting like other grocery store bakeries. For my daughters 9th birthday, we couldn't find a baker in town with availability. So, I turned to Whole Foods, and they DID NOT disappoint! My daughter LOVES cheetahs and wanted a cheetah themed cake. The decorator absolutely exceeded expectations! My daughter described to her what she wanted, and the decorator was extremely accommodating and executed it flawlessly! She did an amazing job on the decorations! I'm really impressed!

Megan S.

Yelp
Thank you so much Rachel in the Bakery department! My wedding cake was beautiful! Everyone loved the design and taste of the cake and kept asking where the cake was from! You are amazing! Thank you for making this happen for me!

Laura C.

Yelp
This is the nicest Whole Foods I w ever been in. And I've been to many all over the country! Staff is wonderful and the produce and meats are fresh! Love!

Susan N.

Yelp
This Whole Foods is underwhelming. I get that it's a smaller location but it was very limited. I was craving coconut milk yogurt but this location doesn't carry it. The cereal section was empty. The wine area was quite hefty though! I can see where they display more focus for business demands.

Anne R.

Yelp
Since there isn't a Whole Foods in my area, I need to drive an hour to get to the closest one to me. I've always been a Whole Foods and quite honestly I think I will always be. This is particular location is the only one that is located in Flagstaff. It is located right across an apartment complex and other shops nearby. This store is on the smaller side of the ones I normally go to but still has a great variety. Staff here are friendly and parking is awesome. They also offer grocery pick up which is great for on the go.

Sarah R.

Yelp
Normally everyone is sweet and helpful but I had an awful experience. They forgot to put my lunch from the hot bar in my bag so I got home hungry and noticed it wasn't in the bag :(. I called they didn't apologize for any inconvenience made it seem like it was my fault and told me they couldn't find my lunch but to come back later for a refund. I had to come back later because I had work and the woman was rude telling us that they had the food sitting there all day waiting for us to come get it. She didn't believe us when we told her the woman in the phone said she did not find it. They gave us a refund but the were no apologies from the inconvenience they caused by making a mistake. Extremely rude / horrible customer service. I come to the store at least 4-5 times a week and spend a ton of money so I can't believe I got treated with such disrespect.

DR W.

Yelp
This is the WORST managed WHOLE FOODS in the country. Fish is terrible -- meet is not fresh, salad bar is never refilled in a timely manner. I live here but continue to drive to Sprouts... Will the corporate office please get there act together and take note .. I just spent 2 weeks in SD area and ( Del Mar , PB, ) visited Scottsdale WHOLE FOODS and these managers or districts are on the point ... Why is Flagstaff so terrible with product and freshness-- must be a new management training store-- loosing business abs money .. BTW I'm a stock owner in AMAZON !

Bruce K.

Yelp
Nice Whole Foods that is exactly like others that I have visited, except perhaps the bakery section (our target on this evening supply mission for dessert) was a little small. That said, I had a tasty banana bread slice and my mom had a muffin that she pronounced as excellent. Service was good from a super friendly check-out gal. I now have a reusable Whole Foods Flagstaff bag that says "Route 66" on it. #winning!

T C.

Yelp
It's everything that you'd expect from a Whole Foods. Produce isn't the greatest but definitely isn't cheap and you get to experience people who look as soft as pudding give you the attitude you'd expect from the host at a super exclusive French restaurant. Pizza is pretty good though.

John S.

Yelp
Best gelato ever!!! Wish you carried some of the top flavors? Where did they go? Ohh know.

Casey S.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I'm a big Whole Foods fan. It's by far the easiest place to find genuine real food that isn't loaded with sugar or other garbage. I've gone to this WF a few times to grab a salad or something from their hot bar without any complaints. It's not like some of the larger WF but it's got enough to get by. Biggest complaint is the breakfast bar that I visited for the first time today. The breakfast potatoes were awful...undercooked and oddly seasoned. I always thought it was impossible to screw up potatoes but they did. Luckily bacon was edible and mostly saved the day.

Steve A.

Yelp
Don't bother going in !!! Horrible service and staff is useless. Only one in line for coffee for 8 minutes (after I looked at time) then I get oh I'll be right with you. To many small market places to go to !!! Spend your money there please.

Luna A.

Yelp
I love this Whole Foods. They have a great selection of a variety of foods, and their prepared food is phenomenal. Super nice and helpful staff, and I come here all the time. Btw their sandwiches are DELICIOUS!!!

Kristian D.

Yelp
Flagstaff finally has a Whole Foods Market. When I lived there almost 20 years ago, the options for natural and organic foods were limited, but now NAU students and locals have an additional place to eat healthy, or at least eat less unhealthy. Their smaller sized market is along Butler between downtown and Sam's Club. The layout is a little different than a traditional Whole Foods, but this one does have nice produce and prepared foods sections. There is a good selection of local foods too including that wonderful Flagstaff honey. Beer and wine are available too. Still, this location seems a bit out of place for the area. I did not get a similar feel here compared to other Whole Foods, but I would probably shop here all the time if I lived in Flagstaff. The location is a bit inconvenient for travelers, but may be perfect for students.

Nicholle S.

Yelp
Very nice clean and new Whole Foods! The employees are very nice and friendly. It's a smaller store than I'm used to but bigger isn't always better. All the aisle were clean. The fruits and veggie department looked nice and fresh. The only thing I would say is the meat section smelled a little meaty lol. Weird I know but the meat departments normally don't smell to me. And they just got a shipment so there were boxes still out.

C. T.

Yelp
Clean, small, and filled with so many vegetarian and vegan goodies. I really enjoy this Whole Foods. Not sure why so many low reviews whining about cost. Newsflash...there are a multitude of grocery stores in Flag! No one is forcing you to shop here. Moving on, the juice/smoothie bar is my favorite section. Always tastes fresh and healthy, great for a pick me up. Their veg frozen section is amazing too. So many good options. Never knew frozen vegan mini corn dogs existed, but they're sold here! And bless Whole Foods for carrying them. For a smaller store, the natural personal health section is pretty extensive. Love the macaron bin near the baked goods. Truly a struggle to not buy an entire box. All in all, a good store offering a nice selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Wish it were a little closer to me, but worth the trip and all the veg goodies.

Alison D.

Yelp
Great prices for an acai bowl or smoothie but the workers at the smoothie bar aren't very nice :(

Madelyn C.

Yelp
Whole foods FLAG shines compared to WF Sedona. Particularly the hot food bar. In Sedona it is consistently tastless, "laying out too long", and never feels amazing or gratifying. In Flag I have actually had some good hot fish... unlike Sedona where I have never found ONE thing that makes me want to go back. But the best prepared food offerings is WF IN Venice, CA. I wonder why they can't delivery consistency among the stores?

Katey B.

Yelp
The vegan pizza we ordered from the deli had ham in it and no eggplant. 2 Stars because, despite the ham, they DO at least offer a vegan pizza.

Russell D.

Yelp
I visited Flagstaff over the holidays and stopped by Whole Foods to get some groceries. Caleb was friendly and greeted us when we walked in. He did a great job making sure everything was sanitized and clean. It was our first time in this Whole Foods and we loved it.

Owna T.

Yelp
The deli is not as glamorous as you would think. And they forgot the condiments to my 8$ sandwich. So yeah not going there again.. Sorry not sorry you need better sandwich makers who know how to read the check boxes. Don't go here make your own.

Morgan M.

Yelp
Still no amazon prime discount. They've improved their cold and hit bars, however... Please learn how to cook chicken. Its not that hard. I understand you have recipes and procedures to flow that standardize your food somewhat. But dear God. Clean your chicken better. Actually sear it. Had the BBQ chicken. 5/2/18 at noon. It was fatty and covered in semi cooked skin. No searing. The sauce was borderline flavorless. I added bbq sauce which was equally horrible. Get someone in that kitchen that knows how to cook meat.

Jay H.

Yelp
I always come here and feel like it's over priced. The one thing I would recommend about this place is its' alcohol selection, but even then you can find better local options at McGaughs. They have the Beyond Brat which is cool, and the restaurant in Whole Foods is expensive.

Jae R.

Yelp
Found stuff here I haven't seen in WFs in Los Angeles. Check the beer section, they have some good local brews.

Schuyler P.

Yelp
Counted 5 people walking around inside the store without masks or COVID PPE ... so I turned around and left. I won't be coming back until after this pandemic clears up... it's just not worth the risk, especially when there are other organic / all natural grocery options in town. For example, I've seen Sprouts employees not only ask people to put on masks, but also to wear them correctly (cover their nose/not wear it like a chin strap).

Tammy F.

Yelp
What a disaster. I came in for shopping and could find nothing other than food out of date, prepared foods I would struggle to feed my doggies. They were out of mist things and being used to Whole Foods in the valley this was disappointing. At least the elk enjoyed the apples as they went off within 2 days.

Shelby K.

Yelp
Just checked out and had the absolute best service from Cashier Jessica (short reddish hair) and bagger Christine (long hair, pony tail). Just a basic shopping strip but given the crazy COVID situation and what is usually a stressful outing these days was made so pleasant by these ladies positive attitude, patience and help. These gals deserve a raise. Thank you for being rockstars and keepin such a badass attitude

Siriwan W.

Yelp
I love Whole Foods but the service at this one needs a little help. Young workers standing around talking instead of helping customers.

Tom P.

Yelp
The absolute worst service in town! All the other grocers usually have people bagging your purchases. There's no way I'll bag my own stuff at the highest priced place around. It's incredibly difficult to get anyone to help you when you need it. Employees are usually standing around chatting and joking instead of working. On top of all that, it's got to be the smallest Whole Foods on the planet. Stinks! Horrible Management! Get somebody in here from the corporate office and fix it. Geez!

Marina M.

Yelp
I have seen the bad reviews and I absolutely don't understand? I always shop at Whole Foods Market and now that I moved to Flagstaff I'm shopping at this Whole Foods Market. From the first moment I found everybody super friendly. There is a special wine that I love and I used to buy that in Sedona but this store didn't have it so I spoke to the wine sales person and they actually instantly ordered it and now I have my wine in this store as well but this is that the only incident I found everybody is super helpful.

Paula D.

Yelp
We came to eat lunch here at the Eat Real Food bar. Omg. You don't put an older woman behind the bar who has no idea what she is doing. I waited forever trying to explain that Pinot Grigio is a white wine. She offered a Pinot Noir. I said I wanted a white wine. Then she took forever ringing up my order. Smh. By the time I got to my food it was cold. Ugh.

AJ P.

Yelp
Friendly folks Good food A nice fun clean ambiance Clean eating area with fresh water available Very nice selection of groceries and cooked food ! We had a very nice visit and enjoyed the food

Emmi P.

Yelp
Naturally, it's a bit pricey depending on what you're purchasing. But I definitely recommend their hot bar!!! Very useful to pick something up when I don't feel like cooking that particular night. Also, if you're willing to splurge then their mochi is divine! Varies from $2 per piece, $10 for a six pack or $20 for a dozen. The staff are friendly, which is especially important since I typically opt for self-checkout lines (*cough* crippling social anxiety).

Sidney B.

Yelp
My roommates and I headed over to whole foods to find an amazing deal on some plants for $4.99. We were incorrectly charged 20.00 and when we addressed the two managers and the woman working at the register(Christine), we were treated very poorly. Christine talked down to us and was very resentful towards us when we wanted the price the item was marked at. I get that it was an hour before the end of her night but that behavior was so unprofessional and inappropriate.

E M.

Yelp
One star for the bakery. We bought a baguette yesterday for dinner and it was stale, basically crouton quality, tried to return it today and basically the response was indifference and no offer of a refund. So if you like stale bread or need croutons buy your bread here, otherwise go somewhere else for bread, i.e. Right down the parking lot.

Dana G.

Yelp
We have had two disgusting events happen at this whole food store. My husband and I like to stop by occasionally for pastry in the morning and twice, count them, TWICE we've looked into the pastry bin, which is covered, and found gnats and other bugs flying around and landing on the pastries. Unbelievable!! And when we told one of the employees he said in a too calm voice, I'll let someone know. What??!!! I do not trust any of their food especially prepared food from there. Either whole Foods standards have dropped or this particular Whole Foods just doesn't care. Whatever the reason, never again will we eat there! Also, BTW the last time my husband had a breakfast sandwich there, he became terribly ill. And that was all he ate that day, because he couldn't hold anything down after that! Terrible.

Karen R.

Yelp
Well, I can't say if they are a little more accommodating in store, but I called them to ask if they carried a certain product. The gentleman on the phone didn't even understand what I was saying, when he finally got it, he didn't know what it was. He asked 'me' what department it might be in and I offered "Maybe supplements?". When he put me on hold to transfer me to that department after 5 minutes they disconnected me. I didn't bother to call back since no one knew what the product even was. Customer service would have been better if they just said they didn't carry it. :(

Angela C.

Yelp
Here's a weird one: You know how they're supposed to be lowering prices for Amazon Prime members? And how they've already posted a bunch of signage and in-store ads to that effect? We asked about it in checkout and the cashier said, "We don't really know what's going on with that; they're still figuring it out." Wat?

Megan H.

Yelp
This WF is a bummer. Some the new checkout clerks are great - well kempt, focused, and friendly. Others seem oblivious to the fact that they are supposed to be providing customer service. They take up entire halves of aisles to refill shelves and are unclear on what certain items are - I even had the butcher tell me how organic chicken is the same as unorganic, which seems off-brand, to say the least. The hot bar..is a hot mess. The WF breakfast oatmeal bar has been a morning staple and ritual for me in many places I have lived. Unfortunately, at the WF the oatmeal bar is horrendous. It's barely up and running by 8:45, but don't get too excited, all you'll find is dry, brittle oatmeal, and toppings that double for the salad bar (no fresh berries, chia seeds, or dried fruits). Forget any of the other items - the salads look sad and the toppings are inconsistent, and the other random items always look like leftovers and never quite go together. The prepared foods are also strange. No burrito bar. Not sure if there's a deli. The sushi never has enough chopsticks and soy sauce. The "bakery" always seems stale beyond repair - and often with flies in the cases (half of one plexi glass case door has been missing for months). The pizza always seems like someone just left half of their pizza there. I confusingly asked the guy if I could order a pizza and he was like "oh we don't really do pizza but I could make you one (as I gaze even more confused at the slices of pizza on the counter wondering where they came from)"...I asked for a menu and he told me they didn't have one and I could just ask him for the toppings I wanted ...leading to me just listing things that sound like they go on pizza and after him replying they didn't have 80% of the items, leaving. The thing is, I love WF. I used to work there. In the past, I have regularly opted to eat there instead of at a restaurant or at home. I own a house near this one, and enjoy the thought that my home value will probably increase just because of my proximity to WF. However, this WF needs a major reality check. It's basically an Albertson's with mood lighting. Please fix your hot bar and have it open when you open. Please train your employees (When I worked at WF, my training was more intense than my driver's license and lifeguard certification classes combined). Please offer delicious foods I can't find anywhere else. I know you can do it. I believe. I hope we can make things right between us, and know it's not too late. But your are going to need to look inside yourself (literally look inside the store and see how the credit card banners and severely limited free range, fermented, and local options are hurting US) and do the hard work to get yourself back to where you were a few years ago. I hope there's an us again, but right now, I just don't know.
