Despite Orders Not to Panic, Noe Valley Whole Foods Descends Into a Spot of Controlled Chaos - Eater SF

"On Monday at noon, Mayor London Breed tweeted out the announcement that San Francisco residents would be ordered to stay home and shelter in place. And while the mayor repeatedly told residents not to rush out and panic buy groceries — grocery stores will be allowed to remain open throughout the order, which expires April 7 — the scene at Whole Foods in Noe Valley, normally cheerful and sunny during a weekday, rapidly devolved into admirably controlled chaos." - Becky Duffett

Alkaline water, self-serve food bar, no over the counter prepared food bar if that makes sense. The staff and customers seems more chill than the other WF in the mall.

Could be better, could be worse. Kind employees, but, I routinely leave this Whole Foods filled with stress, anxiety and anger, no matter how happy and positive I am going in, every time, without fail. I just need to use the Amazon kiosk, what witchcraft do you guys have going on in there?? In all seriousness though, every single time I leave with a significantly worse mentality than when I got there, Every. Single. Time. But shoutout to the cool employees there, they’re awesome and the reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. An employee tonight helped me when he didn’t have to and was super chill, in fact 2 other employees I encountered were super awesome. Idk what’s going on there, but y’all need to figure out why I can never retain my happy, positive and hopeful mentality at this Whole Foods.

There is a very friendly Whole Foods on 24th Street in San Francisco. As we walked in, we were greeted by one of the staff, welcoming us! That’s a nice change from seeing asecurity guards, warning potential shoplifters from potential arrest. Of course we understand that shopping for groceries and other related items has become more complicated, which is why so many folks order everything ( they can) onthe internet. If we lived in San Francisco, I’d always shop at this Whole Foods store!

Rae Alexandra

Google
The Amazon returns desk folks are always super nice here, but for the last month, every time I shop here, the checkout people are snooty, passive aggressive or just outright rude. (It's usually on a Wednesday evening. Maybe it's just bad on Wednesday evenings? Maybe that's the night staff from nearby royal embassies are brought in and forced to interact with the general public? Either way, the people taking your money seem super pissed to be there...) What happened?! It didn't used to be like this!

Google
I had a terrible experience at Whole Foods due to the awful customer service. While I was trying to speak with an employee, she was too busy laughing and chatting with her friends to pay attention to me. It felt like I was being ignored, and when she finally acknowledged me, she was dismissive and unhelpful. This is not the level of service I expect from a company that prides itself on quality. Very disappointing!

Google
Too crowded, parking is a mess, lines are too long, lots of missing items on shelves and the variety of products and brands is not that great. For groceries shopping in Noe Valley, both Safeway and Mollie Stones are much better options. You can’t have 1 person working express lane at 7pm. 10 minutes wait.

Google
Aneya was out to my car with my grocery drop off in a FLASH!! So amazing and highly recommend during early weekday hours. I picked up all my groceries in about 10 minutes door-to-door! While it isn’t the biggest location it’s in an intimate neighborhood environment and the service and options are always good.

Google
The food is great and organic the stands are great but the staff was rude when they were out of pizza we told them and they acted snotty and said I’ll look so they opened the. Oven and their was none and then she told us NOTHING SEE and walked away

Yelp
I love how Whole Foods in the Bay Area know that they have to have Brilllat Savarin in stock. Love this location because it's down the street from brunch places (I went to Pancake Boy), it's on a nice strip of restaurants and small businesses, and it has a surprising amount of parking for being in the crowded city. The one thing they didn't have was Stella's Maui Monk braided pretzels. They had other flavors, but it's Maui Monk that Southwest Airlines has gotten me addicted to. They had every other flavor of their pretzels, so why not that?

Yelp
Terrible selection. 50% of the store is wine, hygiene, or flavored water. The other 50% is vegan soy trash that soccer moms force their kids to eat. Good luck finding a normal looking tortilla or fresh pepper. The fruit you just bought has already gone bad.

Yelp
Another hot Autumn day stroll in San Francisco and the best way to cool out is going to the grocery store and enjoy that extra air conditioning posting by the freezer .Whole Foods Market ( not on Market street) is the place in Noe Valley to shop for groceries and other loose items while taking a break from the San Francisco October heatwave outside. There is a bar inside which consists of salad and hot foods like chicken, mac and cheese, and mash potatoes. There is also an interesting wine selection which carries lots of red and white wines along sparkling wines from different regions of the country and world. There are cold beer and ciders available . Fresh organic produce section has anything from apples to pumpkins. Lots of fresh seafood and lots of beef available. The freezer isle has plenty of ice cream and cold juices in stock. There is also a bakery and deli inside. This Whole Foods Market is similar to most Whole Foods Markets in San Francisco which makes it consistent. Enjoy the October autumn sun at your leisure To avoid the heatwave the best procedure is to go into a Supermarket and hang out by the liquor freezer

Yelp
Really tiny Whole Foods, everything is so cramped. From the produce section, to the aisles, to the checkout area, to the parking lot. Everything is cramped, cramped, cramped. For being such a small supermarket, there is a lot crammed in here though, and I give them credit for that. Their coffee selection is quite large, I ended up buying some Equator coffee here, which I thought was a fun find (haven't seen those at other Whole Foods at Stonestown, Stanyan!). I also do kind of like this Whole Foods because it still feels like a traditional Whole foods before the Amazon takeover, if you know what I mean. Just feels like how the old Whole Foods were! Long lines for checkout, whether you do the standard, or the self-check out. Parking lot is a huge mess, it's just so small, you really have to wait for everyone to pull out/in. Better to park in the street and walk in, in my opinion. I will definitely avoid this Whole Foods, but if in the area or if it's on my way home, I guess I can pick up a few things here!

Yelp
The worst Whole Foods in the city. At 8pm they already remove all of the meet and fish even though they close at 10pm. Shelfs are half empty with minimum selection and they are always out of basic greens like arugula, dill, yogurt etc no matter what time of the day I come.
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Waited forever at the deli counter, but the staff was kind and apologetic. Their fresh-pressed juices are life! Can never go wrong with the green juice combo.

Yelp
This WF smells bad which says something about the people who shop here. It is so cramped that it looks junky. Despite the fact that it looks HORRIBLE to work at, every single staff member I interacted with was courteous and helpful: 2 cashiers, a bagger, the cheesemonger, and a woman who was stocking the deli section. The CUSTOMERS were borderline awful- snarky and panicked. Because, in part, it was too crowded in the produce section, an old guy pushed his cart into me and then waited around to see if I would fight him. I didn't. Could use a steam cleaning and either a streamlined inventory or an innovation that would allow for less hindered movement. This WF looks like its customer base is large enough for Bezos to be able to afford to invest in some improvements.
google avatar

Yelp
Small-ish Whole Foods as compared to the others, and is often out of most things, but has the best takeaway ice cream mochi ever! It's from a brand called 'bubbies'. Pictured below are the mango mochi and strawberry mochi. Soft, sweet, and chewy. They also have pretty decent ready to eat sushi that is priced right too. They always have great music and helpful staff as well.
google avatar

Evan D.

Yelp
Really appreciate the helpful guys at the meat counter, Rob the butcher in particular. Came in for something specific for a dinner recipe, and Rob went out of his way to check the inventory in the back and find exactly what I was looking for--he's a cut above the rest.
google avatar

Ching W.

Yelp
This WF feels so cozy compared to the Stonestown one! I really enjoy shopping here for how homey it feels. What makes it more awesome is the cheese samples they put out. Special shoutout to DARIO for refilling the delicious brie and jam when they ran out one busy Sunday afternoon!

Yelp
I had a poor customer service experience at the Noe Valley store tonight. I wanted to get a sandwich at their deli. Two people stood behind the counter, a young lady and a young gentleman. But instead of paying attention to me, they were chatting. When they finally did pay attention to me, they declined to make me a sandwich because "that is not our job and the sandwich person is on a break." I said, well, what about you two? You seem idle enough. Again they declined. The gentleman did so saying, I have to do things for work on this phone. I said, are you telling me whatever is on your phone is more important than a customer that stands right in front of you in flesh and blood? He just shrugged. No sandwich for me, instead a bitter aftertaste about this store's bad customer service.

Anita L.

Yelp
This store felt a little small but we were able to grab the few items that we needed. Everything was very clean and nicely displayed and easy to find. I liked that they have self check out registers here and the person attending to this area will pre-set up double bags for you to load your groceries into as you ring them up, which was a nice touch. The parking lot here is pretty cramped, so plan on possibly needing to park on the street or another lot.

Liza S.

Yelp
Aneya was out to my car with my grocery drop off in a FLASH!! So amazing and highly recommend during early weekday hours. I picked up all my groceries in about 10 minutes door-to-door! Obviously fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Vignesh R.

Yelp
Staff has always been helpful here -- especially for cheese recommendations. This is a small city neighborhood location in Noe Valley, so the overall product selection around the store is a bit limited (the Stonestown location is much bigger with more selection). Parking is very limited. Lines in this store can be very long during rush hours, because it's quite popular. Some of the products feel overly pricey even for Whole Foods, but I guess it's SF pricing (even Safeway is overpriced in SF). But overall a convenient WF in the city.
google avatar

Jolens V.

Yelp
Nice small store, clean , and they have excellent quality products. The food to go part is small but has a lot of choices. The Sandwiches are delicious and nicely made. The vegetables and fruits are very fresh. The staff are very friendly.
google avatar

Ronney K.

Yelp
Love the selection they have to choose from. THe people work here are very nice. The prices are a bit high, but its a more upscale grocery store. Worth checking out. I don't buy my meat here though, for whatever reason I feel it's not as good. I like everything else though

Yelp
I have no idea how this store is allowed to continue to treat customers the way they do. Today, this particular gem of an employee named CHAR verbally abused me, throwing a verbal tantrum, YELLING at me and ordered me out of the store, by sticking her finger 10 inches in front of my face, because I asked her to please be careful not to bruise my apples. She had opened up the bag of apples and plopped them down very hard without caring. I immediately requested a manger when she verbally abused me and got in my space, but she refused and had to be told by the bagger to step away, and she stated she would not. I pulled out my phone to start filming her horrendous loud tantrum, and continued to ask for a manager. He was a fill in, and had no absolutely NO interest in seeing the video of her behavior or hearing what happened in any way. He was defensive and didn't want to be bothered. I'm flabbergasted this Whole Foods feels that it can treat customers this way and continues to hire such aggressive people who hate their job that much. I called corporate and will be filing a police report as well.
google avatar

Noe V.

Yelp
The last two times that I have been in the store physically, I could not have been treated more poorly by the employees. For example, while doing a return, the gal that was charged in helping me basically told me to do it myself. The second example is they make you stand in one line for four cash registers, while there is another sign telling you to stand in another line. The minute that you question the logic of not taking down the incorrect sign, You get verbally abused by their staff. That place is rundown and those employees hate their lives and hate their jobs... What a bummer as I remember this location was a gem in Noe valley.

Yelp
This is sad to write as this Whole Foods is the closest to me but I would rather drive to Stonestown for their Whole Foods location. I know inflation has happened and prices have gone up but I find it odd how prices are more expensive at this location for certain things than they are at other locations. It makes no sense to me but maybe rent increased or something. The selection at this store has gone down hill and the stuff that tends to be "on sale" or "last chance" are technically never in stock or the "last chance" seems to be exactly what the retail price should be. The last time I was here, the prices were less but the selection was there. I feel like this store isn't what it use to be and it's going downhill fast. Some of the most recent reviews talks about the customer service but I didn't notice any of that. I only noticed how unstaffed they are and how the aisles might appear empty but the checkout lines are long. I got lucky in my lane but if I would have stayed in the freezer aisle, I would have been waiting for a long time with such a small amount of items. The parking at the time I went wasn't as full and it was semi-full when I left. The bakery section where you can get donuts and what not just seemed so meh. There wasn't much of a selection like how there was pre-pandemic. As much as I would love to support a store locally to me, I would rather go to Stonestown and select what I want with more options. I rarely ever go to this WF and I probably won't be back anytime soon. It's sad to see such a store that use to have good reviews, good selection, and friendly staff go down the drain. I still can't get over the fact that the bread I have been eating and love is $8+ at this location but it's only roughly $6-$7 at other locations with the same store name. Also, this store use to have more stuff on sale but for the size of the store, it's very limited.

Yelp
I was in the area. I remember the building from when I lived there in the 80s and it was a Bell Market. Because it's smaller than most Whole Foods, the selection - particularly of prepared foods - sucked. But not as bad as the attitude of the two cashiers I dealt with. Both surly and not competent.
google avatar

Alix J.

Yelp
This Whole Foods is compact and easy to navigate. The prepared food section is big and the flowers are near the front entrance. The wine section is organized and decent size. I was there yesterday to get kumbucha and a prepared meal for my dinner. I got chicken Alfredo with broccoli it was good and good size. Then I got a seaweed flavor I haven't seen anywhere else. The line was long to check out and when I got up to the checkout the woman was nice and I told her that I am a prime member, I told her my phone number when she asked. She couldn't find me which is interesting, I tried to find my Whole Foods app which is connected to my Amazon account. The woman said I'll just give you the discount because the line is long and I don't want to line to be held up. It was nice but I was kinda put off by that.
google avatar

Tina D.

Yelp
I shop here 3 sometimes 4 days a week and lines are consistently way too long. No matter what time of day I'm shopping, morning, noon, or night i am waiting at least 10 minutes in line if not more. Do not even bother stopping in here after 3pm... you will be waiting in a line that's wrapping around to the back of the store. They have the staff for more checkouts, they are just not using them. This Whole Foods is charming and easy because of its small size and neighborhood market feel, but their painfully slow checkout process makes it almost unbearable to consistently shop here. They NEED to install some self checkout stations, or streamline the process somehow. Hoping if enough people leave a review they will change things... PLEASE!
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
This is a very small Whole Foods and I feel like you'd only go here because it's close and it gets the job done. The main reason for the low stars is the rude workers there. It was my first time in the store and I didn't see any cakes out so I asked an employee if they had any cakes that I maybe missed. His reply was, "did you even look at the bakery section?" I was really caught off guard...they don't necessarily have a bakery section for cakes like some of the other Whole Foods have. There was a sandwich making counter but after walking over there and seeing no cakes or no other employees to help...I just left. Never coming back here again...I would rather drive further to another Whole Foods or just go to another grocery store.
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
I am annoyed and offended by this whole foods location. I have been inside this store several times with this very mask on. They said I cannot shop with this mask on...oh all of the sudden then you want me too wait outside while you go get your supervisor. When that supervisor comes and cannot make a decision they go get another one supposedly and never come back. I should have acted like the 90 year old man who flipped them off and said fuck you...instead the old gentlemen made me laugh And Guess what your not gonna ruin my day. I will go spend my money at Mollie Stones instead. I don't have time for this
google avatar

Tough C.

Yelp
Where do I begin? This is a small scale version of the usual WF Market, and that's the most charming aspect of this store. The folks that work here are, for the most part, apathetic, lazy, belligerent and arrogant af. One standout? The wyt girl behind the customer service counter. Might be Isabel? Not certain. Doesn't really matter. She's absolutely blows at customer service. The manager's off the floor; nobody knows where to find them, or when they'll be available. Got it. Go to Mollie Stones; go to another WF. Go anywhere but this sad af excuse for a grocery store. Take your $$ elsewhere, you won't regret it.

Yelp
We have a lot of birthdays at work from Aug through Nov. What does that mean? We get a lot of bday treats! This time, we got a cake from Whole Foods. We celebrated on Wednesday, October 31st around 4:15pm. We had the STRAWBERRY CHIFFON: Layers of vanilla cake, filled and topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. This is one of my favorite cakes, so I was happy. The cake was moist and light. I adore whipped cream and berries which is why I really like this cake. Who knew whole foods would make one of my favorite cakes? I didn't ask for cake this year, so I'm glad I still got to eat the strawberry chiffon cake. (I had pizza instead as my bday treat.) Such a delicious cake!

Yelp
I got bullied in canned foods aisle by a family of 5 on Saturday Sep 30th, who were all non-shoppers only wandering inside the store each with an ice cream cup in their hands which they have bought and brought from an ice cream shop in Noe Valley (Which shouldn't be allowed), and although I could hardly understand what was going on with their bad words and still chasing me after I managed to run away from them in absolute shock to an entirely different section in the store, but as I was still being chased with foul language by this metaphorical family of howler monkeys, I decided to approach a crew member in all frustration to talk about the details of the incident that just happened, and by the time I reported the incident to the crew member, the manager of the store whom I were to meet a little later in person was not inside the store (That is what I was also told by the staff) so he had no clue what went on or was still going on; other than perhaps having talked to the bully family of non-shoppers in the parking lot and soullessly decided to contribute to their bullying. So while I'm complaining about the bully family and how generously they used the "F" word with me multiple times to a crew member and he is attentively listening to me with visible care in his eyes (Which I appreciated), the family decide to suddenly leave the store in quick steps, yet still spooning their ice cream cups in their hands like monkeys or something, and since they left literally immediately, I said "Whatever" to myself and resumed my shopping, simply deciding to not let what the bullies did, get to me. Two minutes after I resumed my shopping, the manager named Rob who is absolutely clueless of what I have been through in the last 10 minutes approaches me and says "Sir, you gotta leave your cart and leave the store right now in this second!" And of course, I am petrified as soon as I hear that. I am (was) a regular of the Noe Valley store since 2017, until the "Not-so human for-my eyes and Not-that HUMAN to-my SOUL either" Manager Rob stepped into the picture to ruin my shopping experience even further for me; which is now resulting as in the form of this Yelp comment! The heartbreaking part of all that is, by the time those things happened I was famished, it was the night of a busy day where I did not have the opportunity to have a decent meal all day long; and what's even worse than that is I had nothing left in the fridge and it was around 8:30PM when this all happened. Although I was starving, I did not create any complication nor did I insist to stay. I just went home with my empty stomach and two empty shopping bags to quickly let their customer services know in an email what went on in their lovely Noe Valley store less than half an hour ago. I particularly kindly requested from them to review the security camera footage of the store at that given time in order for them to be able to have a thorough understanding of what actually happened on top of what I could express in an email to them in all frustration & stress, caused by a family of human-kinda looking obvious animals. Their customer services did not take a course of action about it; although I have made sure to include their CEO Jason Buechel as a carbon copied recipient of my email. I'm sure he is quite busy with his business and I am still willing to remain as their customer as I love how they present their concept in every single store with a good quality standard; yet no kind of apology after this point would support my willingness to remain as your customer. Your non-shoppers left the store as they realized that they were in trouble having seen me complain about them to a crew member; and although I did not say "Well, Eric, let's forget about this! And leave the bullyland now." I was asked to leave in such an inhumane way, by their gay club security guard kinda-looking store manager; who obviously knows nothing about SERVICE but he highly likely knows things or people enabling him to still keep that job after what he did! Let's talk about SERVICE, shall we? I'm not coming back. You lost me.

Evelyn D.

Yelp
I won't say the place went ENTIRELY downhill, it has been a treasured neighborhood grocery despite all the rude reviews here but......!it seems quite drastically in the past month or so to have gone VERY corporate. Robotic. I don't believe it is the employees at fault. I know as a corporate head that they are always meddling! We both noticed quite a few of their best employees have left...?vacation perhaps. We very much hope that blue-haired girl returns, she worked so hard all the time. Absolutely brought next-level game;speedy, excellent food and life(!) recommendations. Kind and intimate service. Deserves a promotion! Well the flower ladies are fantastically gifted, cheese and wine selections curated and knowledgeable stafffed. The hot bar workers are very sweet and accommodating Good little homey neighborhood nook Cheers

Yelp
Always understaffed and slow despite the upgrade of new check out system. Terrible produce and selection.
google avatar

Joey S.

Yelp
Express Iine currently to the back of the store wrapping around. 20 minutes waiting in line to buy overpriced groceries.
google avatar

sibylle s.

Yelp
I just wanted to grab something quick for dinner and o boy was that a mistake. I don't know where to begin: getting into the parking lot, forget it. Lines for check-out snaked around several isles, the hot selection was truly pitiful, and the meat counter had a stench to it that made me gag, and rapidly flee the store. Wholly crapo
google avatar

Yelp
The associates at this location or absolutely horrible. Multiple negative interactions and one specifically a lady by the name of Remy had a horrible attitude. Not to mention she literally looked like she rolled out of bed and went to work she had smeared make up all over her face and her hair looked like it hadn't been combed in months. This is not the quality that we pay for at Whole Foods. If I wanted to shop at the 99 Cents store that's where I would go. The Redwood City location is awesome the associates there are great. Also the Fremont location is great. The Walnut Creek/Danville location is awesome I've always had great interactions with associates there. I did speak to the general manager Graig of this location, he stated would Look into the issue.
google avatar

Alvaro C.

Yelp
Over crowded and under staffed. The lines stretch longer than the length of the store. Not worth waiting in line for ever. Hire some staff!!
google avatar

Efua A.

Yelp
I can say the same thing for all Whole Foods locations- proudly fulfills the bare minimal standards of pricey cuisine and snobbish patrons. Well, I don't go here always. I only come here for unique goods. However, they have a good space for their wine selection. As well as a larger range of bulk bin things, so it's best to bring your own bag when you visit. The rest of the store's layout is perplexing to me; the aisles are quite narrow, making it difficult for me to locate even basic things.

John D.

Yelp
I have shopped here since they opened. Whole Foods has gone down hill to the point of no return. Produce quality is now just awful, Safeway is actually a better option at this point. The last straw for me was being recorded on video at the self checkout stand as I pay through the nose for garbage product, under the ever-watching eye of Amazon. No thanks.
google avatar

Christopher A.

Yelp
Worst Whole Foods I've ever been in. Stopped in for some juice and sparkling wine for a party at a friends house on Sunday morning and there were 20 people in two lines each to check out!! They had workers standing around chatting while check out lines remained closed. Locals told me it was always this way! Wow!
google avatar

Odie O.

Yelp
This is the saddest whole foods ever as the shelves are literally bare three rows of empty shelves on both sides completely barren like wartime the fridges were also completely empty in the back they simply cannot get any stock on the shelves even though its super busy there is just no excuse for shelves with absolutely nothing on them lines are huge but service is fast no parking just car lineups

Yelp
I have never read the reviews for this place before (who reads reviews for grocery stores?) but was surprised to find the rudeness of the staff is consistent across the board. I've had similarly rude interactions inside the store, but this particular review has to do with issues with Whole Foods pickup orders that I've experienced twice in the last month (basically half my grocery trips since I go once a week). Both times, I have had to wait upwards of 30 minutes to complete a pickup. The first time, I had even paid an extra $5 for a pickup within 30 minutes. How ironic that I had to wait 45 minutes to pick up an order that should have been *ready* within 30 minutes. Luckily, in that instance the customer service helping me was very apologetic and even gave me a gift card to compensate for my time. Today, I had a pickup order between 9 AM and 10 AM. I checked in and left my house at 9:28 AM. I live 2 minutes away so I was there around 9:30 AM. For 20 minutes there were crickets. Luckily someone else came to pick up an order so the person who brought their delivery asked me if I had checked in. I showed her my app which clearly indicated I was checked in. She said, "it doesn't show you are checked in" and showed me her screen. Okay... so what am I supposed to do about it? She completed the delivery and then came back and told me again that I had to check-in. I told her again that I had checked in nearly half an hour ago. She again told me her screen didn't show it was checked in. I again showed her my phone. She told me she would check me in. No apologies for a problem clearly on Whole Foods / Amazon side. I waited another 5 minutes until the delivery person came to my car. I commented how the system was broken and that I had been waiting for 30 minutes. She told me I had checked in 6 minutes ago. I again reiterated that I had checked in before even leaving my house. She told me once again I should have checked in. Such a frustrating interaction! Finally she ended with "oh it's an Amazon problem then". It's clear that Amazon/WFM pickup system is buggy. However of the 3 employees I interacted with over two separate pickup experiences, 2 of them were rude and unapologetic. All it would have taken was a "sorry" instead of accusing me of not checking in over and over again to diffuse the situation.

Yelp
I ordered on-line and had my order delivered. The meals I ordered tasted great. I had the meatloaf, Cesar salad some sushi and the Salmon With asparagus spears. 4 days of meals for a great price 10 dollars per meal average. The delivery was friendly and on time.

Yelp
I've been living in the neighborhood for 10+ years and I've been going here that long and this store just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes on. I think this is literally the first bad review I've ever left on Yelp but it's getting or is ridiculous at this point. There's only a few people that work there that are nice and pleasant but most are rude And disrespectful management. Oh and lets not mention the lines that are almost out the door on a daily now. I truly don't know how self check out is going to make things any faster. I truly do not think anyone cares because it goes from the top down and the management, if they cared, would do something about the situation. I've even called headquarters regarding the store and their customer service.

Yelp
Worst staff attitude of any business in the area. Consistently get eye rolls, ignoring customers, and general bad attitudes at checkout. This has been years (it's not just a pandemic thing). I've come so close to speaking with a manager but these days I'm afraid of being labeled a "Kevin" (male Karen). Since it's 100% across the board there, I can only assume it's bad management. Clean up the management, man. This place is misery to visit...

Yelp
What has Amazon done to the Whole Foods employees? The employees are obviously miserable working for Whole Foods once Amazon took over. Whole Foods use to be a grocery store where you could feel the employees enjoyed working for the company. Now there is zero acknowledgment from the checkers; they're impatient, irritated, aggravated, and this goes for every employee (minus the butchers). Amazon do better with your billions. If your employees are this miserable, ask more of yourself as an employer. It's painfully obvious your despondent employees are a reflection of top leadership/management decisions. What does the community/entire human race need to do to get your attention to reinvest in your employees/the planet - engrave it on the side of a spaceship?

Yelp
Parking here is terrible. Store shelves can be sparse. I do like the self check out

Yelp
Strong contender for the worst WFM in SF. Frequently out of stock of basic items and quality of the produce is generally poor. Only redeeming features are convenience and some of the people who work there are sweet.

Yelp
This location is the worst. The shelves aren't stocked. The Amazon returns desk is rarely manned, and the staff are checked out and rude. Rainbow may be more expensive, but the experience is worth it. Is WF going to give their generic reply that "they'll look into it and have a nice day?"

Yelp
2:30 pm on Friday, December 16th, The Deli counter person, "Sy," was terrific... smiles and perfect service! Contrast that against rude cashiers, in particular, cash register one for the way I was very rudely "directed" away... and cash register three for being very obstinate, saying "not really" when making a statement that their system was confusing. I won't be going back. Too many good places and other "Whole Foods."

Yelp
Whole Foods by itself is great. But I am reviewing the Cashier who helped me check out. I worked in retail for so long that this person should be trained on how to assist customers properly. I asked her if I should show her my QR code and where to find it in my Amazon app and she snapped back with an attitude, even when I asked for cashback of a 100 and ask is I want bigger bills, I replied 20s please and she gave me 10s and 5s. This woman has no pleasantness on her maybe this is just a paycheck to her.

Yelp
I am regular shopper at Whole Foods and we usually shop at our neighborhood store which is awesome! This store (noe valley on 24th street) is awful 1. Not clean 2. Not well stocked 3. Poor service especially by the cashier, extremely rude and unfriendly very unlikely of Whole Foods staff. I would not go here again and please help Whole Foods keep their brand and let store like this bring it down

Yelp
The quality/price ratio has never been good in this store, for years they got a way with a somewhat reasonably fast checkout experience. This slowly degraded over the last few years but now that they added self checkout: this is obviously a nightmare. What i wonder now that the upper hand in food quality has been gone in years is this: what justifies the robbery level rates this store practices ??
