Oh. My. Lord. If I died today, I would die happy, knowing I have experienced the most amazing meal I will probably have in my life. First, we were met in the reception, offered a drink and made to feel welcome. Then we were shown to our table in the quietest kitchen I have ever been in. I sat there with my mouth agape most of the time, watching the team of incredible professionals do their thing. Even when some plates fell to the ground, there was no fuss. Just a quiet clean up and in with business. The attention to detail was simply amazing and the different flavours in the food were simply stunning. Pickled silvan berries, popcorn, pumpkin that tasted like chocolate, the duck that was SO delicious. There is some sort of sorcery in this kitchen and I want to know what it is! The young pastry chef who did bread and dessert is to be commended for his passion and skill. The gentleman who brought us our ‘vegetables’ at the end of the evening was charming. And Robin, your professionalism, calmness, attention to detail and the manner in which you communicate with your team is not only good to watch, it is amazing just to know that you are treating your team well. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and left with VERY full bellies, and the memory of a meal that will not be forgotten for a very long time. Thank you to the whole team, from the lovely ladies washing the dishes, who worked so hard all night, to the team in the kitchen and the wait staff, all of whom were professional and knowledgeable. We will return.
