Hiked about halfway on Christmas day. The trail wasn't super easy to follow, we had to backtrack a bit. And it started getting deep with just hiking boots. But it was beautiful and we saw a grouse. I'll probably bring snowshoes next time.

This is an excellent, moderate hike that gives way to some incredible views! The trail was bug-infested… so make sure to bring bug spray! There were no super-steep portions, and workers have done an excellent job of improving the swampy area of the trail with board walks, so we stayed mostly mud-free. There are several different vantage points toward the summit. All offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This one was a treat!

One of the best spots near Fairbanks for Aurora views. Forget Murphy Dome or Cleary Summit, this is far more isolated and elevated for clear-sky views!

A fantastic hike near Fairbanks. It's a moderately difficult out and back hike to Wickersham Dome. A good introduction to hiking or backpacking in the White Mountains. Plenty of trailhead parking.
