"Tucked away in a quaint bar in County Wicklow lies a room filled with special editions of many of the most famous works by Irish authors. Some say that Ireland’s greatest contribution to arts and culture is its literature, and this exceptional collection certainly showcases the rich body of work created by Irish writers. First editions of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and James Joyce’s Ulysses (still in its original wrapping) are some of the crown jewels in a broad collection celebrating Irish authors, as well as poets and playwrights such as W. B. Yeats and Samuel Beckett. There’s even an original program from the world premiere of Oscar’s Wilde’s play The Importance of Being Earnest. The room can be booked for parties of up to 80, but it is usually set up as a typical restaurant dining room. A small bar featuring a large variety of Irish whiskeys is nestled in one of its corners." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

"For more than 40 years, this family-run pub has been nourishing appetites and warming hearts in lovely county Wicklow. Grab a table in the main dining room, whose walls are adorned with eclectic artwork and book-lined shelves, and join breakfasting locals for a few hearty dishes that'll give you a jump on your late-morning National Park explorations: Think full Irish breakfasts, helpings of eggs and bacon, freshly baked scones, and if you're feeling seriously ambitious, a slice of apple pie. The drink game is strong here, too—check out the Irish Writers Room, typically used for private events, for a peek at the Irish Whiskey Bar. The restaurant's neatly curated collection includes fine (and even a few rare) whiskeys, from labels both legendary (Bushmills, and Midleton Distillery in Cork, to name a few), and independent." - Sandra Ramani

Google
I have been to the Heather restaurant at least 10 times. The location is great, the restaurant and bar are beautiful, very cosy and warm. The staff is very helpful and nice. They have a gorgeous outdoor space where you can eat and drink so I would recommend this place. Food wise it depends on what you eat. I had the salad bowl as a main, very bland. I had the burger years ago, it's ok, nothing crazy. My child had chicken goujons recently and they were lovely and fresh. The carvery sandwich is nice and filling but could do with a bit of green on the side (salad leaves), it is a bit bare. Overall, lovely place to come to enjoy a nice pint of Guinness and some food after visiting Glendalough and its beautiful region.

Google
Nice cozy spot and great after a walk around Glendalough park, the staff was really nice but the food did not leave a mark. It was just ok. Nothing particularly bad but nothing memorable either. The flavors were basic, and the presentation was standard. It’s an okay spot if you’re hungry, but not a place I’d go out of my way to visit again.

Google
I've passed this place many times over the years. It's always caught my eye as it's on the main road into Glendalough so has all the advantage of passing tourist traffic. As a result it's always been busy when we passed. Tried to get a table one time, no chance. This time it was just before midday and it was not busy yet. We got a table! The staff were genuinely very friendly and helpful. Clearly they enjoy the job. The food was delicious and fresh. The ambience in the place was also wonderful. It was like eating at Hogwarts with its old world charm. Will certainly go again. Guaranteed. 5 stars. The staff were great with the kids too.

Google
Great food! We ate here while staying in Glendalough and it was great! The food was very fresh and had great taste. Very nice atmosphere and awesome customer service! I really enjoyed both my entree and the salad (especially the dressing). This is a must-try if you are in the area!

Google
Absolutely incredible experience! Such a gorgeous day on our quick trip to Ireland. Stopped by after our walk at Glendalough and enjoyed a nice meal here. Avinash, our server, was attentive and kind. Would absolutely recommend this place and I would love to visit again.

Google
I went here last Sunday with my wife, son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren for dinner. A lovely women greeted us on our arrival and brought us to our table and have us menus. The place was busy but not full. After a couple of attempts to get a waiter by my son, we got one to take our drink order. She was very confused and was not certain about our order but left. A few minutes later another waiter came over to confirm our order, which was 1 point, a bottle of beer, a jug of water and 3 juices for the kids. Ten minutes later we tried to order food, making sure to not to get the waiter we ordered the drink from. She took the order and as requested we got the kids meals first. 50 minutes later we were still waiting on our 4 meals. After going to speak to the lovely lady who seated us earlier, we were told that it was on the pass and would be with us shortly. 5 minutes later we got our food. My wife's meal was not right and my meal was barley warm. As it was now nearly an hour since we ordered the food, we just eat it, nobody asked if everything was OK. WE asked for the bill which was over €140 and left. The reason we went here in the first place, is we had previously been here a couple of years ago and it was FAB. Standards in service and food has dropped badly. Will not be back.

Google
Very cosy, super friendly staff and amazing food. I'd recommend to save some space for dessert, the apple crumble is delicious! We'll definitely come back!

Google
I used to go here regularly for decades then it changed for the worse and I hadn't stepped foot inside in 10 years because I wasn't impressed with anything about it, but today I decided to go in, And I have to say everything was perfect just like the old days, the food was 10/10 I had the full Irish and the wife had a half one, the full came with a big pot of coffee which is absolutely brilliant and there was 2 little pots of jam there without having to ask and all for €15 for the full , now that is great value for money, I am putting this place back on my favorite spots to eat, I was there on a Monday morning very quiet, you'll have trouble trying to get in on a weekend because it's usually jammed out the doors, plenty of parking very clean and there's plenty of yokes hanging around the walls and ceiling to keep you busy while you're waiting on your food, Very very impressed 👍

Yelp
This place was hopping even on a Tuesday night. They served us really quickly and were friendly and professional. The waiter didn't laugh at my friend when she ordered mashed potatoes with a side of french fries.

Yelp
Completed a 5 mile hike on Kippure and was time to reenergize. This highly rated restaurant was a little out of the way but close enough to give it a try. This was a sizable restaurant with an large outdoor seating area. Inside was nicely decorated and busy. I ordered the Seafood chowder that was thick, hot and with nice spice. After two mouthfuls the Corned Beef Rueben came out which made for a difficult decision to eat what first. The corned beef Rueben was ok, not as good as The Temple bar, too dry and a far 10th to my own juicy corned beef. While waiting for the check, I headed to the head to wash up and upon arrival back, my remaining beer was gone and table cleared as they thought I left. I Paid the bill and on my way. Place seems like a great place To hang outside during warmer weather although it seemed the staff was short handed.

Andre K.

Yelp
Very nice and helpful staff. Good food. Very cozy place. It's the place to be when your that far deep in Ireland. We had Lamb and the Chicken Parmesan.

Ivy B.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in the quaint village of Laragh! We didn't know we needed a reservation, but they were happy to accommodate us anyway. We ordered some goat cheese appetizers which were creamy and delicious. For my entree, I had a pasta with bacon, chicken and a cream sauce - very wonderful! Dessert, we opted to share a Baileys cheesecake. It was very decadent and hit the spot. Service slowed down a little after a large group came but they offered us a complimentary shot of Irish cream!

Yelp
During our two week trip to Ireland, the meal we had a Wicklow Heathers was one of the top ones. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Definitely a great way to end the day after hiking Glendalough and exploring the loop up to Sally Gap. We enjoyed a tour of the Irish Writers Room as well as a sneak peek into the private dining area. Flavorful and enjoyable, the food was delicious!

Michelle O.

Yelp
We were staying in the Heather B&B and really didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. The Innkeeper graciously offered to make a reservation at their restaurant. I wasn't expecting much. What a surprise! This place was jammed! A fun lively atmosphere with a large indoor dining area and a large outdoor seating area. Service was great and so was star food. My husband had the lamb and said it was the meat lamb roast he's ever had. I had the roast turkey and ham. We were served mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables with dinner. The Banofee pie is a must!

Sam S.

Yelp
A great big restaurant / bar with tons of outdoor and indoor seating. It was packed when we arrived and there were people just pouring in as not much in the area was open. The menu is much smaller than the photos you see on google and we were informed that since they reopened they had to do this. Standard Irish pub fare with stews, meats and fish etc. Food here is ok and the kitchen is quick. Flavors are nothing special and the staff are good. Overall it's an ok place. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I finally found the Traditional Irish Food we were craving after several days of touring Dublin. The Corn-beef and Cabbage was delicious, generous and went along with the cozy ambiance. The customer service was amazing and went the extra mile with a fun history lesson curated by our waiter Avinash. He spent extra time with us explaining the rich history of the adjacent "Writing Room" which displayed original novels. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, head out to the mountains to find out!

Amanda C.

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast!! The Irish breakfast was very tasty! Everything was fresh. This restaurant is at the entrance to Glendalough, and is a great place to stop before checking out the site. The coffee was good Irish coffee, the eggs, sausage, white pudding (Americans - this is not "pudding" - rather a meat party), and potatoes were on point! I would definitely eat here again and recommend this place to any tourist or local! The restaurant itself is very cute with antiques as decorations. Really look at the decorations as they are all very old and unique.

Mama T.

Yelp
If it's the best ,Trisha and Garth just sang it's praises for eternity. There is a guy named Tony, Garth said he would love to take back to the USA . I'm going to be coming to Ireland in the spring/summer of 2023. This restaurant will be my first bucket list box ticked. The Good Lord willing. Ireland please order the best weather and the get the craic cranked up! Cannot wait to be back in the best country in the world!

Rich S.

Yelp
Excellent lamb stew, fish and chips and corned beef. Portions were very large. Great service. Loved our experience.

Yelp
After a long day of hiking in the Wicklow mountains, this was just what we needed. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the location was perfect! It was pretty much right outside of Glendalough. My chicken sandwich was good and my friends also enjoyed their meals. I will return if I'm over that way again!

Yelp
I, so badly wanted this place to be great, and I am sure if we actually ate an entre, we would have had a different thought. We arrived here at an early seating, there was only about 15% of the restaurant filled. I have a large family, so there was 8 of us. We placed our orders and waited. It took approx 30 minutes to get our appetizer. By this time the restaurant started filling up, and got quite busy. Well, we waited for over 30 minutes AFTER our appetizer was done (Approx 75 min from when we arrived) for our food to arrive and nothing came. Every time the servers brought food out, we assumed it had to be ours, and then they would deliver to the tables around us instead. So, we nicely told the server, then another server, and another 15 min went by. Eventually, We had no choice but to tell the waiter to bring our check and we would have to leave. (We had plans to be somewhere and were on the verge of being late and had not even gotten our meal yet). The server snuffed with a bit of an attitude that we should have told him we were in a hurry.... which we didn't tell him, because we were NOT in a hurry when we arrived and did not know it would take 90+ minutes to get a meal. They gave us the bill and we left. Unfortunately, if not for the waiter's attitude, we would likely have tried the restaurant when we were back, or the next night, but after that, we simply could not support this establishment. We really were looking forward to trying the entres.

Jim B.

Yelp
The restaurant itself was very nice inside and it was full of diners due to multiple events going on nearby. It is usually never that busy according to our innkeepers. We had reservations so we bypassed the line and went right in. We ordered a bottle of the house French Languedoc wine and it was quite nice. This is not a style that many Americans like in a red wine. I had the duck confit with black pudding and a soft boiled duck egg on top of the pudding. You will want to Google Irish black pudding before ordering it. It was the best duck I have ever tasted. I had the beef daube as the main course. The local Irish beef was so tender I could cut it with a fork and the taste was wonderful. The beef was braised in Guinness and the sauce was very flavorful. I finished the meal with a slice of lemon meringue pie that was quite nice. This was a meal to remember.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Great stopping point for a bite to eat before or after hiking Glendalough National Park! Super friendly staff and delicious food. Coleslaw was like none other; so yummy! Generous portion of haddock fish cooked to perfection. Mint infused table water is a nice touch and will definitely be stealing that to drink at home.

Stephen W.

Yelp
Decided to take a chance at this restaurant as we were driving to Glendalough. Absolutely happy we did. After a poor experience With "tourist" pub in Blarney; our group found a place that is superior in service and attention to food. Everything was fresh, the staff was personable and friendly. The soup was hot and out of this world good. The fish and chips was better than any I have had so far; everywhere but the pub in Blarney was good. The fish is fresh here and fresh battered; fries are good. The rest of the party raves for their food too. If you are close to Wicklow, make this a place to eat and catch a drink. I doubt you could be disappointed without a serious case of Murphy's Law...

Vanessa H.

Yelp
After traveling for two weeks in Ireland my husband and I were fortunate enough to stumble upon this absolute treasure of a restaurant. The staff was warm, friendly, fun and inviting - several of them stopped at our table during our stay to ensure we were enjoying ourselves (including the manager twice). The meal we had was probably the best we've enjoyed during our entire stay and it's quite obvious there is a focus on getting the details right here. I can not recommend The Wicklow Heather highly enough!!

Benn T.

Yelp
The perfect conclusion to a magical walk through nearby Glendalough. Pretty and perfectly preserved without the least bit of touristy-ness or kitsch. The haddock and chips were excellent as was the pappardelle and the vegetable soup. Betty, the owner, took us for a wonderful tour of the Writers Room, with first editions by many of the greatest Irish writers- and there were many. Swift, Shaw, Yeats, Beckett, Synge, Heaney, Wilde and many more. Finished up with the crumble and a rich and deep Irish coffee. We are definitely coming back. Thank you to Paul at the Shelbourne for recommending this place. It is one of a kind. Only regret is not doing the Irish whisky tasting, so may have to come back and spend the night nearby.

Emily C.

Yelp
Gorgeously cosy little spot a few minutes drive from the breathtaking Glendalough. After a three hour hike up around the hills of Glendalough, you're always gonna be a lot exhilarated, but also a little cold, a little tired, a lot in need of a hot drink and some food on your belly. The Wicklow Heathers is a bustling little spot - there was a wait of about 20 minutes when we got there yesterday afternoon (a Sunday), but trust me it's so worth it. It's very much a country restaurant - lots of wood and knick knacks and warm lighting. A diverse menu but out of six of us at the table, not one of us got something that wasn't of high standard. Haddock and chips seemed to come out the winner all up though - two huge pieces on a plate with homemade tartare sauce and fresh garden peas, with a fine helping of chunky chips on the side. The staff are so friendly here, it's a real sink-into-your-seat-and-sigh type spot. I'll be back no doubt, having earned my meal up those hills once again.

T P.

Yelp
Amazing pub. One if the coolest I've been to in Ireland yet. The prices for the drinks weren't bad either. I'm not sure how the food is as we only got drinks here. The Guinness is great. The Irish coffee is amazing. The lemonade is very good. The staff are insanely friendly. The atmosphere and decorations are very cool. The Writer's Room is very cool too. I'd like to come back for sure.

Debra R.

Yelp
We stayed at Riveradale BnB close by. They offered free transport. I thought the proprietors drove but it is arranged through Wicklow Heathers. They pick up from several local Bnb's for free. What a great idea! We were here on a rainy/snowy evening. The owner, Betty, actually picked us up. We thought she was a hostess. For the 5 minute ride she made wonderful conversation. The restaurant was warm for a chilly night with all kinds of goodies on the wall: pictures, old tools, old advertising mirrors and Irish sayings. The outside, if warmer had heaters, shawls on the chairs and looked extremely inviting. The small bar inside is a gem. There is a mix of locals and visitors. We were tired and ordered from the smaller menu. The fish and chips were good and my salad (vegetables with avocado) with Hake was excellent. The fish was broiled and at first it was just OK. When I mixed it with the vegetables it was great. Both dishes were about $16 each. Our waiter was very friendly. The internet was spotty but finally clicked on. I don't have international service so looked to check in using their WiFi. They had a great looking dessert menu. Betty took us home and again had wonderful conversation (I asked if she was the owner). I would definitely eat here again if in the area. It's lovely to go out and not feel rushed, feel like we made friends and have great food.

Oliver G.

Yelp
nice from in- and outside, friendly, fast and attentive staff. the menu is not too long and not too fancy, which I like. I ordered the warm beef strips sandwich, which came with salad and thick fries, it was delicious. My partner had a chowder soup and she was very satisfied with it. It is worth a stop during a trip to the Wicklow mountains.

Laura R.

Yelp
Unbelievable meal! We just stumbled upon this restaurant and it was one of the best meals of our trip so far! Amazing pasta dish.

James P.

Yelp
Came here on a busy Easter Sunday. Inside was cozy and eclectic- I really liked all of the interesting things everywhere! All the food was classic Irish dishes and looked great. We started with a Warm Smoked Chicken Salad with Bacon (Yummy!). I went with the Bangers and Mash (Great!), the wife did the Traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage (Great). We had to try the homemade desserts, I got the Banoffee Pie (Amazing!! Big Win!!) and she got the Apple and Warm Berry Crumble (Great). Worth the stop!

Akiko O.

Yelp
Driver collected us from hotel near the restaurant and it's free. Dinner and desert we're gorgeous and atmosphere was great. I would love to go back again!

Michael R.

Yelp
Very nice little restaurant near the Wicklow Mountain National Park. We came here for a late breakfast after leaving Dublin. The staff is very friendly and they have a very nice breakfast menu. The full Irish breakfast is very nice and filling. They also make a very good cappuccino here. I would like to come back to this restaurant again in the future!

Floris V.

Yelp
Wonderful Laragh restaurant just a few kms from Glendalough. Great food that you can enjoy either on the cosy outside terrace or within the beautiful interior. The cottage pie day special was delicious.

Joelle F.

Yelp
I'm a total fan. Rocked in here on a hot sunny day (I know few and far between!!) after a long hike in Glendalough. The staff and service was excellent, they seated us outside right away, and our timing couldn't have been better, as we were only sitting down for 15-20 mins and along came a huge queue, which shows the place is popular. We opted to sit outside, great seating area, lots of space, and no rushing to get you out of your seat once you are finished. The food was good, considering we were starving, we just wanted all the food. We both opted for the lasagne and chips, which didn't disappoint and left us full, needless to say, we didn't have room for dessert! It's a great spot, lots of parking, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit

Susan V.

Yelp
Just wonderful! I had a really nice romantic dinner. I had salmon, which was so smooth and tender, nice sides and sauce. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming as the staff are not only polite and friendly, but personal! Don't come by without a visit!!!

Brian N.

Yelp
Sat outside with wife and 4 kids on a sunny afternoon after a visit to glendalough. Food was wonderful. Offered us some Irish liquor on the house but had to drive so I passed. A bit pricey is the only reason not 5 stars.

Seán C.

Yelp
Excellent food and the staff are superb. Shoutout to the manager for going the extra mile when our order got mixed up and there was an issue with seating. A good restaurant is defined by its service and rectifying problems. I would 100% recommend this spot if you've been down hiking in Glendalough and need a relaxing meal to enjoy the sun going down over the Wicklow Mountains. 5/5!

Scott G.

Yelp
Lovely food and excellent service from extremely friendly staff.. But the atmosphere was ruined and I left with a headache because of children screaming and running around. This got gradually worse as the family finished their meal and the children grew more restless and loud. I really felt the staff could have told the family to control their children as they were making little effort to do so themselves and the kids were beginning to run between tables and squeeze between peoples chairs. This unfortunately, ruined an otherwise lovely meal! I would urge people to make a late reservation to avoid this. Perhaps the management would adopt a policy of not seating parties with children in the same area as childless families.

Bianca G.

Yelp
No matter what you do, go to this restaurant if you are in the area. It has the nice traditional Irish atmosphere. It is cozy and the artwork and chairs and lighting all contribute to its charming feel. The menu has a variety of choices from traditional cottage pie to lasagna and sandwiches. The cottage pie and the lamb stew are both delicious and tasted fresh and came out soon after we ordered them. Also, the portions are large and neither of us could finish all of our food. There were absolutely no problems with this restaurant.

Mary N.

Yelp
After almost two weeks In Europe, we just had breakfast here. Absolutely the best breakfast and GREAT coffee! Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service !

Kait C.

Yelp
An absolutely phenomenal recommendation from our air bnb host Margaret. This adorable (reminds me of a grandmother) restaurant is tucked away in Glendalough across from a petrol station. Although the restaurant was packed on a Wednesday evening (mostly locals) we didn't have to wait for a table for two. We ordered the French onion soup with goat cheese crostini to warm our belly's (and that it did). My husband ordered the tortellini which he actually didn't like as the pasta was quite thick. However, simply do not order the pasta here. Instead try the salmon with hollandaise sauce and dill potato cake. When asked which side you prefer, treat your taste buds to the garlic potatoes (similar to scallops potatoes or potatoes au gratin...aka AMAZING). Did I forget to mention the house-made brown bread they served with our appetizer? A gorgeously soft and nutty bread that we just couldn't resist asking for more. To top it all of they served us complimentary Irish liquor. Yum yum. Go here and you will not be disappointed.

Ruairi O.

Yelp
Wow, just wow! Took the 2.2 of us out for lunch and we happened across this little gem about a mile from glendalough. We arrived without reservation and no problem, we were told we could have a table reserved for a booking an hour and half later! Decor is rustic, dark and homely and staff are attentive and diligent! The food was amazing, I presume there is a Sunday lunch menu separate to the everyday and it was good! All traditional Irish fare with a few hearty favourites thrown in! I went for corned beef, served with parsley sauce and the usual veg! Now as you lot know corned beef is not a fussy piece but it's very easy to cook it wrong! This was perfect, beautifully moist and a nice spice so very well seasoned! I doff my cap chef! She went for haddock and was served three pieces of freshly battered fish with chunky chips and fresh garden peas which is a nicer touch then the obligatory mushy's We got a apple and forest fruit crumble for desert served with vanilla ice cream, a side of cream and a layer of custard just under the crust! Fab! Can't recommend this place highly enough

Yelp
This was easily our favorite dining experience in Ireland! What a wonderful restaurant! It's located in the small town of Laragh very near the monastic city of Glendalough. Beware your GPS coming from Dublin though. We were sent through the Wicklow mountains on a rather rocky road getting there (yes, I appreciate irony). We enjoyed the Wicklow Heathers so much that we actually returned there a second night. The interior is beautifully decorated if not a bit on the kitschy side. Several cozy rooms are adorned with quintessentially Irish decorations from shillelaghs to copies of Ulysses on wooden shelves and everything in between. The first room on the left when you walk in the front door is my personal favorite. I think it would feel warm even on the coldest winter night. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. They took good care of us while we were there. The menu is robust with numerous Irish classics as well as plenty of other delights. It was hard to choose and the portions were quite massive. On our first visit, I had duck breast with pickled cabbage which was superbly succulent. The garlic scalloped potatoes were a nice addition and the vegetables were cooked to softness. We shared a banoffee pie for desert and they have a darn good one - not too rich, but a good filling to crust ratio. On our second visit, I had the daube of beef which was as tender as possible and full of briny flavor. It came with puréed parsnips and more potatoes and vegetables. I started with an appetizer of venison sausage that was fantastic too. It became increasingly apparent that there isn't a bad dish on the menu. I would go back every time I visit the Emerald Isle. It's hard to get much closer to a perfect dining experience.

Yelp
We arrived for Sunday lunch and it was very busy we had booked but were late Impressive organisation no one seemed to be waiting around once seated and given a menu. Menu was alacarte starters around 7 Euro mains average around 15 and dessert 6. Good size portions. We both enjoyed our meal. Although feeling full we shared a dessert banoffee pie and had coffees hubby had a pint and came to 47 euros. Only very small critic is that my meal came with an accompaniment which I declined and asked for something else instead and I was charged. Though no biggie think it should have just been swapped. Though we were given a bottle of water without asking which was a very nice touch.

Yelp
The food was excellent, and the service even better! We tried the vegetable soup, the haddock (my favorite), the duck, the salmon (everyone elses favorite). For kids we ordered burger and lasagna, both good. Irish coffee is a must.

Yelp
The Wicklow Heather Pub/Restaurant is located in the picturesque village of Laragh deep in the Wicklow Mountains, only minutes from the world renowned scenic and historic Glendalough, Dublin City is less than an hour away. A family run business, open for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a guesthouse where you can stay the night should you decide to take advantage of the walking trails the area has to offer. The place is furnished with lots of bric-a-brac and antiques. The bar has a nice selection of Irish and Scottish malt whiskeys. The staff provides friendly service. The menu was typical pub fair with good food and a decent wine selection.

Yelp
If you're in the area and famished, The Wicklow Heather is the right place to enjoy a lunch or dinner. We happened to catch a sunny day and had a wonderful lunch outside. My wife loved the salad with chili glazed chicken and my fish and chips was generously portioned and tasty - even the peas! As a finer touch, the kind people offered my wife a blanket when they noticed she'd become chilly...their kindness certainly wasn't lost on us. Thanks for a great lunch!

Yelp
After a lovely morning drive south from Dublin, we stopped here for what a hobbit might call "second breakfast." Previously dining on merely store-bought randomness like energy bars and yogurt that day, it was our first home-cooked breakfast in Ireland and by far the best the entire two weeks we spent there. As far as the variety of food, it was your typical Irish fare, but the quality was superb. The staff are friendly and the ambiance was warm and homey. When we return to this wonderful country, I know for certain we will go out of our way to visit again.

Yelp
YES, YES, YES to this place! We sat outside on the patio, it was lovely. The food was some of the best on our entire trip and it was reasonably priced as well. Service was a bit slow but we encountered that nearly everywhere we went in Ireland. Besides, why does it matter when you have the chance to take in such gorgeous surrounding views. Every dish we ordered here was exceptional, but I would say the plate to get is the corned beef. Do yourself a favor and stop by Wicklow Heathers for an exceptional meal.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous, cosy, warm and welcoming pub/restaurant in the lovely village of Laragh. But - best of all - it serves truly amazing food. Recently a group of walking friends - 18 of us in total - had the pleasure of lunch in the Wicklow Heather following a nice morning's walk in the forest area of the nearby Vale of Clara. While we did book in advance, and all of us had a whole variety of different lunches, from scones and tea, to sandwiches, soup, chowder, lasagne, salads etc - the service and standard of food was second to none. Personally, I can truly say that the seafood chowder which I had was the very best chowder I have ever been served. Judging by the packed car park and huge number of people having lunch, this place is obviously renowned - and this was a damp and dreary Monday - what more can I say!

Yelp
The place was really cute and had great outdoor seating. We had a party of 11 and got in fast. The food was pretty good but I did not love it. The service kinda sucked, no one offered to refill our drinks. When we asked for condiments the girl waitress acted like we were murdering her. The male waiters were nice The prices charged were not the same as the Menu but I'm not arguing over a euro. The bartender where we paid was super sweet and really nice. It made me wish we would have sat at the bar. He is the only reason I gave it a 3. The lasting impression was good. I would probably never go here again unless it was to visit the bar
