It took us - well me - a minute to find Saugatuck because it had been awhile and I, being a man, was sure about where it was. I was wrong. Anyway, it was nice to finally find it, because yes, it's a small place, but it's so cool.
We found Wicks pretty much at the end of the part where all the shops are, and i'll say this - for location and ambiance, the place is a find. It's got a nice bar with your standard wood and just a bit dark, but also open to the patio and really not all that dark. It was fairly quiet inside but the patio grew busy as we sat.
I don't remember what I drank, I think an All Day IPA and then a kentucky mule and both were proper. I mean that well, the beer was cold and the mule mixed right. I think it'll stand up as a good bar for drinking based on that.
The menu for me was a little bit of a let down. Not a lot of options and not things I'd generally go to. It was also a little on the pricier side. They did have a crab roll so we ordered that. It came with fries which where really good - hot, thin, crispy. The roll itself was pretty good, with plenty of crab, and the roll was awesome, just like what you find at good seafood places, buttery and crispy. The crab, though, was just good...not the best crab I've had, not the worst either.
I'd be willing to try it again for sure, but like others have side, with all the options...
