Wide Awake Specialty Coffee

On a holiday to TAS and have been very lucky with a great coffee. Soy latte tastes smooth and nice with hint of red bean, dates and dried longan. Batch brew is clean and easy to drink.

While exploring Hobart, I came across this local coffee spot (one of the many great ones in this beautiful city!). Service was so lovely and had a meaningful conversation with the barista. I loved their coffee so much! When you go in, it opens up to a beautiful seating area that's perfect for reading or good conversations over coffee ❤️

Nifty little hole in the wall. The service was great and employees supper friendly, the atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. Definitely the best Ice chocolate in town.

On holidays in Tassie and needed an early morning coffee, this was the closest place that was already open at 6.30am so walked a few blocks over to it, and so glad I did! Amazing coffee and wonderful atmosphere, the baristas were so incredibly friendly and made each and every person coming up to the counter feel special. Super cool vibes. What a wonderful place 🥰

I was mocked while buying coffee here, and I’m deeply disappointed and angry about the experience. I have been a regular customer because this was one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever tried. However, today’s experience was so upsetting that I will not be coming back. When I ordered my coffee, I clearly asked for an iced latte. The staff member even repeated “iced latte,” so I was confident my order was understood. However, I was given a hot latte instead. Mistakes like this happen, and I understand that. I politely explained that I had asked for an iced latte. But the staff member who took my order responded by saying, “You only said latte, not iced,” with a sarcastic tone and mocking laughter. This made me feel insulted and discriminated against. I can’t understand why a loyal customer, who genuinely liked this café, would be treated this way. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to stop coming here. This experience has ruined what I once thought was a wonderful place.

Wide Awake consistently makes the best coffee around Hobart and North Hobart. I go here almost every day and every day it’s 10/10. The place has a such a good vibe, and the owners and staff are always so positive and welcoming, remembered my order on my second visit and my name after 2 or 3 more. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone ☺️

After 3 hellish sleepless nights and the absolute need for a coffee infusion...I can guarantee you ALL that a stop here was the best thing you can do!! Creamy, cappuccino made with love and attention for a sleep deprived mumma who had a 5 hr drive home at 6am. Do yourselves a favour and swing on by this adorable place...you WON'T regret it 10/10 x
