Wide Mouth Frog Hotel

We were on a G-Adventures tour that was able to book us here instead of the hotel they were planning. This was great! We heard other G-Adventures Travellers complaining their Quepos accomodations were terrible. We were glad we got to stay here with very comfortable beds (very soft but supportive... I think memory foam mattress?) and a nice pools area and nice upper sun deck. Thanks so much also to the kind owner! We enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here in my time in Manuel Antonio, i loved the place because it was newly renovated and the common areas were great, so pretty. The breakfast was good, plenty of options and it was delicious. The staff were great and so friendly. The rooms were big and there was a lot of space. I would recommend them to have clothes hangers and something to place my baggage on, but nothing more than that.

Great option at the price. Lots of renovations going on so uncertain if the intent is to push rates higher. As it was, nice sized room, clean and comfortable. Beautiful little courtyard with garden, pool and hot tub for reading or relaxing. Very quiet (except when the elementary school band across the street are practicing). A good option if you want to stay in Quepos for a more of a local feel. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Very professional.

The accommodation is clean and affordable, with lots of potential. However, be aware that the presentation is better than the reality. Breakfast was the worst we had in Costa Rica – for USD 10 it is very small and not tasty at all. The staff is okay; it really depends on who you talk to. We strongly recommend booking a room with a balcony; otherwise, you may end up with a room that only has a window, which needs to be covered all the time to maintain privacy. Overall, it’s acceptable, but it feels more like dormitory-style accommodation than a true hotel experience.

This was a nice hotel with friendly staff. The room was very clean and it was quiet. They have a great swimming pool and outdoor area. The hot tub was colder than the pool but overall a good place to stay. Onsite parking is limited but usually you can park on the street. The location is good and feels safe with many restaurants and shops close by. I recommend Soda Sanchez which is steps away with great food and a wide variety. The hotel is ideal if you are visiting Manuel Antonio and for the price it’s a good place to consider.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Avoid at All Costs We made a confirmed booking and traveled over 5 hours to reach this hotel, only to be told on arrival that our room had been sold to walk-in guests. No call. No warning. No alternative arrangement. We were left stranded late at night, our New Year completely ruined, along with the entire trip we had been excited about. The staff showed zero accountability—no apology, no effort to help, just a cold demand to “find somewhere else and leave.” This level of mismanagement is unacceptable. If a hotel cannot honor confirmed bookings, it has no right to operate. They clearly prioritize quick cash over basic ethics and guest safety. Save yourself the stress and humiliation. Do not trust this hotel with your booking.

Very clean and modern hotel/hostel. Rooms arranged around a peaceful garden/courtyard with a pool. Staff very helpful. Cooking facilities, and we were offered free breakfast in exchange for a Google review. Very comfy beds. Location wise, it's close to centre of Quepos, and a 20 minute bus ride from Manuel Antonio park, and the public beach. Quepos is a bit sketchy, some of our fellow travellers got harassed, but the hotel is safe, and a good restaurant opposite. A good budget option for visiting Manuel Antonio, which is a gem!

Wide Mouth Frog is a modern hotel, very clean. The rooms are set around a nice courtyard with a pool and gardens, and nice area for eating. People friendly and helpful. Great location in centre of town close to restaurants, bus station and ATM. Rooms are comfy but quite small, had a fridge and TV but no safe. Has air con.
