We enjoyed an interesting and comfortable stay at the Wiener Gäste Zimmer in Vienna. The space was originally a brewery, and is now a home, a guesthouse, and an artisanal vinegar factory. Our host was absolutely delightful and helpful with information and many other ways. For breakfast, we enjoyed homemade bread, alpine cheese, fresh eggs, and the best possible farm-to-table products. However, most impressive were the rooms. They were spacious with tall windows and exposed brick walls. The infrastructure was constructed in Siberian larch and outfitted in the most creative ways to interact with the room. It was an adventure and a puzzle to discover new ways to operate the lights and plumbing by means of levers and pull-chains. There were also luxuries, including a comfortable, custom-made bed and heated, Japanese toilet! It felt like staying in an art installation.

A unique experience. The hosts are exceptional and could not be more friendly and accommodating. The food is fantastic and as others have said much of it is made on the premises. The oils and vinegars are delicious. A tour of the manufacturing facilities is fascinating and a must see. The passion that the hosts put into everything is remarkable. The straw rooms are great fun as are the Japanese style toilets! If you go for the straw rooms do note that straw walls mean you hear the neighbouring rooms, which might not be to everyone’s liking. The rooftop spa is a lovely touch too. Well worth a visit.

Parking is 24euro per day, and really hard to pass the gateway. You need to leave keys in the car so they can move your car. Staff are extremely rude and arrogant, from the owners to the breakfast girl. Worst hospitality Hard bed, impossible to have a normal sleep. Swimming pool is stylish and comfortable, water is a bit cold and only open from 8am to 8pm. Very limited choice for breakfast, bread is a bit too hard. Miss night lights, spot lights on top of your face above bed. There is no hotel entrance, you enter either though the shop or through their service courtyard. No reception, you need to check in yourself and help yourself most of the time. You can use the kitchen.

Really lovely stay in unique hotel in a quiet neighbourhood close to the subway. We enjoyed the extraordinarly designed room, the swimming pool and the terras with huge hammocks to lounge after a full day exploring the city. Amazing breakfast with lots of fresh locally and home made items. And lots of advice on what to do and where to go.

We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon & it was a highlight of the trip! |My husband and I aren't people that particularly like hotels, and look for places that are more like guest houses. It is like staying with family, and everyone who works at Wiener Gaste Zimmer is friendly and has insightful knowledge and is willing to take time out to speak with you. |The room is beautiful, and whilst it looks industrial everything in it is quite luxurious. The bed was divine! |We had an impromptu tour into the underbelly of the brewery & encourage everyone to ask for a tour if they arrive in the day time. The next morning we had a really lovely breakfast served by Danielle. The jams and honey were delicious and homemade. We also had a perfectly cooked egg & a lovely coffee, with homemade apple juice & some nice hard cheese. Danielle offered us some homemade granola too but we were quite full! |You're free to try as many of their vinegars as you can during your stay and it really opens your eyes to what you can do with vinegar! |My husband and I hope to go back soon, we love their ethos and we're sure it would be fantastic at Christmas. Can't wait to go back!

The place is not for people who like to have a comfort bed, a nice shower, or a taste breakfast. The bed is a 8cm hard mattress on solid wood, it would not change any shape with your body, but your body needs to adjust to it, it’s like sleep on concrete. When you shower, you will stand on a piece of construction metal frame, it hurts your feet so badly. The shower has no shower head, which means the water will fall hard on you, and you are surrounded by shower curtain. It is not over, when you finished the shower, the whole entrance/toilet/shower area is totally wet and really slippery due to the polished floor, so you can fall down, and by any bad luck you fall on the 1.4X2.4meter mirror, which is not fixed on the wall, you will end up in hospital. And you probably still need to pay for repairing that mirror. The breakfast is the poorest you can image, see the photo, 2 slice of bread, 2 type of cheese, 1 type of jam. That’s it! Oh I forgot you can add an egg. The staff is so horrible, one morning the bread is burned, we asked the staff to change it. She said it was only a bit burned and it was included in the room fee. Oh I forgot, it is not possible to sleep one night in this place without banging on your leg or your head, the bed is surrounded by wooden beam, after banging your leg about 2-3 times you will remember to climb on the bed with both your hand and feet. If you haven’t banged your leg on the bed frame, don’t worry, there are wooden frame sticking out everywhere in the room, you will trap on one of them. Your head will probably get hurt either by the metal chain hanging in the space, or by the water pipe of shower when you are standing in front of the mirror. You will not find anything you can sit on in the whole room, I mean sitting comfortably, of course you can sit anywhere on those wooden beams. This style is not for hotel, for shop/exhibition all works, but for hotel, it is a joke.

An incredible experience with the very best hospitality! We chose Wiener Gäste Zimmer because of the unusually designed rooms, and it’s location ‘out of town’. Daniela and her small team were so helpful and welcoming with recommendations for restaurants etc. . Breakfast is delicious with special attention to providing the best ingredients. We could write so much more - but less is sometimes more!
