We visited for the hot spring/vapor cave and had an amazing, relaxing 2hr stay. The top hot pool has a beautiful view of the mountains with the clouds swirling all about and the vapor hot cave made for a super unique experience. Be mindful of your limits, it is really hot! There were showers to cool off and wash off the heat before and after, dressing room, lockers, cold water to drink, everything you could need. Front desk was kind and explained everything well. Highly recommend if you're staying in Ouray!

I had a wonderful time while at the Wiesbaden. I stayed in the House Across the Way. It’s a small 3 room house that has a great front porch that is on the National Historic Register. My family were also here to attend my Nephews wedding and I heard no complaints from anyone. The staff is wonderful and the location was great. When you stand in frontThe house you can see the falls on the side of the mountain on the same side of road as the Weisbaden and hear it from the front porch. The house has no air conditioning but believe me it is not needed. It was cool enough at night and in the mornings you couldn’t sit on the porch without a jacket and this was the middle of June. I didn’t use the pool which was available but just the house and the calm atmosphere was enough for me to enjoy the experience.

Stayed here last year and the cave hot springs were amazing. There was a guy on his phone and they were not hesitant to go down and tell him to be quiet, which was really nice (don’t call people when you’re in a cave hot springs, or any hot springs in general). Thank you. Rooms were quaint and so cute. Property was lovely. Right off the downtown strip. Thank you for the amazing stay!

This was the perfect serene oasis! The staff was attentive and pleasant. There was a problem with the TV in our room that the owner herself worked diligently to correct. When there wasn't an easy fix, she offered something to compensate for the hassle. Access to the private pool was way better than access to TV. The regular hot springs pool was very nice and the vapor caves were as well. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We came for a day pass and arrived to a full hot spring, Anne at the front desk greeted us with the kindest welcome and said we could hang out for a bit and wait for people to leave. She then suggested the private hot spring the Lorelei!! I excitedly loved her suggestion and we got right in after a long day climbing the Gold Mine Via Ferrata! Anne is our much needed hot spring fairy godmother!

Great morning adventure. The grotto was a unique experience, dark and so hot! Once we cooled down sitting in the vapor cave, we ventured outside. The outdoor pool was hot enough, at 103°F. Birds were singing and the mountain views were grand. Well worth the entry fee.

This establishment is absolutely nothing more than a complete disappointment. ||If you are looking for good customer service, respectful owners/employees and a peaceful environment DO NOT book reservations at this establishment. If you are looking for an opportunity to get away from the crazy of this world and just have a vacation DO NOT book this place!|| If you choose this place just know you are not escaping the crooks and dishonest people of this world. This establishment is not looking to give a pleasant customer service experience at all. The bottom line for this business is money so watch out! They will drain whatever credit card you put on file with them and will not communicate with you about it. So keep an eye out everyday in your bank accounts!||Our experience with the owner was like nothing I have ever experienced. If you are looking to be harassed, over charged, charged randomly without communication from the owner then this is the place for you!||And the employees are absolutely terrible! No understanding of customer service or respect to others. Regardless of how you perceive guests, it’s the establishments responsibility to provide an amazing experience especially when you collect over $1000.00 from your guests!!||I have never had such a terrible experience while staying in Ouray Colorado. ||I’m a native to Colorado and it’s so disappointing to see people from my state so incredibly disrespectful, unkind and so confrontational!

My family and I stayed here for spring break and had a wonderful time. Rooms are nice, cleaned, and organized. Very comfortable. We called Bruce for our reservation and he was very informative and knowledgeable. Nice pool and vapor caves. We had an amazing stay and would come back again. Thank you Bruce and all of the Wiesbaden staff!

Yelp
Decided to visit this hot springs out of all the other hot spring options in Ouray because it has a cool unique vapor cave ugly springs, as well as an outdoor one. It was quite busy at full capacity during a weekend, as they only have about 10 or so lockers but we were able to wait about 10 mins at the lobby until our turn. We were given directions on where the lockers and hot springs were, and were reminded to shower first. They provide water downstairs so drink some after each dip! The vapor cave is apparently under the mountains, and there were notes to whisper and stay quiet. It was hot like a sauna there but it was great sweating a bit in there! Outside flowing hot springs was beautiful and refreshing. Everything is chemical-free and natural. They gave us 2hrs to stay at the facility but we didn't stay for that long since we had to make it to dinner before the small town closes everything. We felt so refreshed outside, great place to visit if you're in the area !

Yelp
It's hard to put into words, the way I feel about this place, but I'll try. We specifically booked this place because of the history. And the cabin in particular that is built upon Chief Ouray's hunting adobe. We absolutely loved the cabin. It was private and primative, but had everything we needed. And to learn that it was built in 1902 was even better. It does have a comfy bedroom, it is not a studio. And a kitchenette with a fridge and a stove, a microwave and mostly fully stocked. A decent shower and lots of heaters with a wood burning stove. We would stay here again in a second. It was neat waking up to the wild turkeys and driving up and down the hill in the ice. The jeep made it really easy. We also booked the sunroom and while I do love staying in the lodge, because of its convenience, we much prefer the cabin. The sun room is almost all windows, and it is literally built on top of the vapor cave with the rock coming through one wall. It's very cozy too, and has a king bed. That part is great! There is no kitchenette in here though, but the front desk clerk was kind enough to help us with some items we needed to make some sandwiches. I'll tell you the most difficult part is this: The entitlement of folks who have no concept of respect. Whether it be berating the staff or talking loudly and obnoxiously while soaking. If someone doesn't know hot springs etiquette, they should learn. It's a place of retreat, rest and relaxation. It's also a sacred native site. It deserves respect. Don't come here if you're looking to be loud and obnoxious. You don't know how many times I watched people walk away from soaking, because of idle drunk gossipy talk... The times where we have been mostly alone, are just epic and I'm truly grateful for that. It has been one of the best weeks just becoming one with nature and the earth, honoring the sacred. There really are no more words except this... For all the negative reviews around social media or online, that's great keep it up. The rest of us would like this little gem kept a secret. Thanks

Yelp
I came here about an hour before they closed and the girl was super sweet and accommodating still. I would love to stay here at a longer stay because it was so quiet, pretty, relaxing and unique to most the hot spring spas throughout colorado. Plus the night photography right outside the door was soooo cool!!

Steven J.

Yelp
We were greeted by Jen who was very friendly and helpful. We came later in the day and had the whole place to ourselves and it was magical!!!. The cave was just what we needed after a long day of driving. After soaking in 108 degrees of soothing water we headed up to the hot springs pool. Surrounded by mou tains was exceptional! They had floats that we used and just listened to the sounds of nature. I could not have imagined a better experience. We left on cloud nine and talked about how we would definitely come back the next time we are in Ouray. In the morning we left for the next leg of our trip which was DeRango.  When I went to put on my bracelet I realized I didn't have it.  I searched everywhere and my heart sunk as I figured I lost it at the hot springs... But I took a chance that someone found it and turned it in..and they did!!! I honestly can't believe it ..Curtis was so helpful.  I explained we were on our way driving back home and were in DeRango.  He said he could mail it to me so I gave cc information and I already received confirmation that it was being shipped.  I am so grateful to your whole staff!!  Will absolutely be back and would highly recommend!! Yelp
Whoa, I'm happy our concierge recommended the place, what a relaxing spot to stop at it while in Ouray! We walked in and got a pass for the day, prices are very fair but you also have the option to rent out the Loreli, we will have to hit that up next time. The vapor caves were amazing, even though you get stabby stabby vibes when you walk in (don't worry, you will not hear Keith Morrison's voice). I sweated every damn thing out of me there and felt amazing afterwards. The outdoor pool is small but mighty, they have some lounge chairs and tables with ample shade.

Brenda L.

Yelp
We visited the Wiesbaden for our 40th wedding anniversary last week and it was amazing! The mineral pool and vapor caves were relaxing and healing. The manager Delinda was very accommodating and friendly! The staff was friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to visit again.

Yelp
I just LOVED our stay at Wiesbaden! My wife, three year old, and I planned a summer getaway in Ouray, and I switched our reservation from a fancier venue last minute on a hunch, and boy, am I glad we did! So a few things to keep in mind... This is not the Waldorf. It's not perfect, but that's just fine. We needed two rooms so that our little fella could be put to bed ahead of us undisturbed. That mostly happened, except for the night when a bear just outside our room made a ruckus rifling through the neighbors construction bin. The hot spring and vapor caves are amazing, and included with your stay, so don't miss those. The pool is like hot tub hot, so not appropriate for smaller kids. They will be disappointed, because it is super inviting looking. The courtyard in the middle makes a tranquil and relaxing spot after a long dat of hiking or exploring. Generally, we just loved everything about this place!

Mollie B.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Room was quaint and quiet. Anne was an exceptional hostess. Very polite and energetic.

K W.

Yelp
This is one of truly nature! Its small space, but its good for up to 10 minute's staying because the water is truly hot like Texas/arizona in summer heat. If ure from those states, u ll enjoy it.

Maithili S.

Yelp
The private soak is what I would recommend. 75 bucks for two ppl- includes the soak, general pool and the vapor cave. So relaxing and totally worth it. The vapor cave is so unique. Bring your own towel, or they can lend you for 2 bucks extra.

Mary N David L.

Yelp
A very awesome experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have been on a quest to experience hot springs and this one hit a high mark for us. The outdoor pool was very comfortable. We rented time in the private pool and enjoyed some private time there. That water spring was very very hot and we had to dip in and out. It's in a very comfortable setting. Went to try the vapor cave, but out of our league. One step in and we could hardly breath. Surely others would benefit. Room had a coffee maker and fridge, but no microwave which would have helped. All else and the staff were great.

Loren L.

Yelp
What a unique little place! Reserve a spot at the Lorelei and then check out the vapor caves. The first little cave room you enter into has a wall that looks like melting chocolate! And then it's own hot spring inside. Totally recommend. A must do in Ouray!

Inoh C.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Great price for hot pool and the vapor cave. Great value for relaxing experience.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Beautiful! Clean! Lovely! The staff was wonderful! We will be going back. The cave was awesome!

Eric H.

Yelp
Overall, a great hot springs that I am happy we went to. Private hot springs: the Lorelei .. first impression when we saw this private tub was great, beautifully set up and the water looked very inviting. However, as we entered the water we noticed quite a few dead bugs at the top of the water and quite a few other bugs around the perimeter of the tub trying to do the same. Also, it appeared that there were a lot of bees in the forested area of the private area. And then the snake appeared.. and completely broke up the calming vibe. The rest of our time in the tub was consumed watching to see if the snake would go into the hot tub.. and as you can see from the photo, it did get close. Not sure I would return for the private hot springs for these reasons, though I realize these things are probably outside of management's control. The rest of the hot springs was great. Sure, the property does seem a bit dated.. but the vapor caves were amazing! And unlike anything else I've experienced. This is really what stood out for this hot springs. The soaking pool was a bit small at first glance but ended up being just fine with a very comfortable temperature. Friendly staff and overall a great experience. Will look to return, just maybe not the private area next time.

Claudia C.

Yelp
Captivating! We had no idea this place was there until someone suggested it. I would recommend a day pass which is $50 a person.

Tien L.

Yelp
Amazing winter lodging getaway. We plan to come back next year. The vapor caves did not disappoint.

Blake M.

Yelp
Lovely facilities! Always recommend anytime I'm in Ouray, staff was friendly and helpful! Keep up the good work.

Rachel F.

Yelp
The vapor cave was AMAZING! However, the level of hospitality/service was abysmal. When I could not remember the code to my locker, I was told that the lockers were second hand so there was no master key, and it would be up to me to remember the code. I even offered to pay a locksmith on my own, to come back the next day for my belongings, and I googled how to override the code with my friends phone. But the manager proceeded to talk down to me, not offering any solutions other than that I just needed to remember the code. I should also note that the employee who showed us around did not tell us that the lockers should not be locked, and was also unaware of this guidance. My friend and I both work in the hospitality industry and if an employee of our company treated a guest like this, upper management would be appalled. The employees were, honestly, lucky that this happened to me (a very laid back human) rather than my mother, because lord help them if that had been the case. We had also originally booked to have time in the private outdoor hot spring, along with the vapor cave. Unfortunately, our reservation was not recorded correctly so we were told we would not be able to use the private hot spring as it had booked up. We were excited about our original reservation but we said we understood completely as things happen. I'll end by saying that the actual hot spring was amazing and having the privacy was much preferred over some of the public options. We just hoped we would have been treated with more kindness and grace by the manager.

Barbara C.

Yelp
My stay here was AMAZING thanks to Wendy!! Not only was she the friendliest person who worked the desk but she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time!! To all the people that complain about the rooms what do you expect? This place is historic so if you are expecting a Marriott or Hilton just stay at home the hot springs are worth every penny!! Thank you Wendy for the great stay!!! Will definitely recommend to all my friends

Kimbra J.

Yelp
I arrived early around 11 am for the caves and pool and was able to enjoy them all to myself before more people came in. I think this place is quirky and definitely worth going to. The main reason I'm giving a 5-star is because I had the best 90 minute massage I've ever had! And I've had a lot. Jackie is amazing and I highly recommend requesting her, you will not be disappointed. My friend got a massage too, I don't know with who, but she also said it was top notch. I'll be back!!

Cate S.

Yelp
We booked a day pass for the hot springs and were told upon arrival that it was only for 30 minutes, which is confusing since it is titled a "day pass". This was unclear on the website and neither mentioned in an email nor on the phone. We did arrive 10-15 minutes late but thought we had the entire day to spend (we tried to call but no one answered the phone), we were told we would have 10 minutes left in the hot springs cave. The front desk was super rude and made us feel uncomfortable the entire time we communicated with them. It was very disappointing because we were excited about this experience.

Andrea D.

Yelp
First of all Crystal and Marissa are amazing hosts, very attentive and nice. We rented the Lorelei, so beautiful! We enjoyed our experience so much we booked another visit a day later. I really recommend this sweet little place!!! Very private!

Germaine S.

Yelp
The vapor caves were closed so I didn't get to see those, but they allowed us to use the private pool for free to make up for it. That worked for me! Beautiful area. Deer greeted us every morning.

laura r.

Yelp
There are really no words to describe the magic of this place. The vapor cave is an underground sauna built into a, yea, cave. It's like you're going back in time...to the shire. You then get to soak in a hot springs pool with insane Mountain Views. The facilities are dated, but if they were updated to fancy modern spa amenities it would take away from the history and authenticity of the place. I also had one of the best massages of my life here. The massage room was also in a cave which I never knew I wanted, but now I would like all of my massages in caves.

Rachel H.

Yelp
Such a cute hotel with a hot springs pool and vapor caves!! We LOVE staying here when we come to Ouray!

Jen K.

Yelp
The caves were unique and peaceful, and the soaking tub very relaxing as I had the fortunate timing of enjoying them by myself except for the herd of deer that wandered by while I was soaking! The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The facilities were pretty dated, however.

Donna W.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay but I think people should be aware of a few things before booking. The rooms are tiny and fixtures appear to be original. Furniture is just about as old. There's hot water but you need to run it for about 5 minutes to get hot. No microwave but I think there's one in lobby. The vapor cave is VERY hot and anyone with health issues should steer clear. The gardens were absolutely gorgeous. It's off the Main Street area so that's nice. If you go to ouray be aware that a number of restaurants are closed and others changed hours during COVID. All in all if your looking for a basic place to sleep for $180 it's fine. If you're looking for a nicer place there's plenty of other great places with a lot more to offer

Derek S.

Yelp
Great place, comfortable. It was slow so it was easy navigate around. Has basic cubbies for lockers, has showers for clean up after. Has indoor hot springs with outdoor heated pool. Bring drinking water, they do have refill station with ice. There is also rooms available to stay.

Kevin P.

Yelp
The vapor cave, hot spring pool, and views from this spa are amazing!!! This place is a must visit while in ouray! There's no a/c in the rooms, but you don't need it. Also beware - nobody who has consumed any tobacco or nicotine within 3 months will be allowed in the water.

Anna M.

Yelp
We were turned away because they claim they were full but their parking lot wasn't even close to being "full". We only wanted to use their pool! Even then they refused us... My whole party felt disgusted. We felt looked down upon. What was their real reasoning? Was it our skin color? So, sad that people still think and act like that to this day, our world is in chaos with hurricanes, earthquakes, fires and hatred. I know there are more good people than bad, but we shall over came... Karma is everything!

John G.

Yelp
I've visited hot springs throughout the Western US and Weisbaden is one of the best! Everything about this place is worth it. Weisbaden is a national treasure situated in the beautiful town of Ouray, don't miss this epic destination! Pro-tip: Go into the room next to the cave to drip dry after soaking, don't towel dry...instead let the amazing waters of this place naturally evaporate from your skin. Keyword: Balneotherapy....

Will B.

Yelp
Lovely place for respite. They keep entry to their guests and just a few visitors so it is not crowded. The outdoor pool was about 106 so we were in and out, and I stayed by the hose with the cool water coming in. The caves down stairs were amazing- you walk through a few doors and the air gets hotter and hotter. The third room was too warm for me. The rooms have kitchenettes, so if you stay that is a nice for a break from eating out.

Harold P.

Yelp
Review for spa Rustic and maybe could be a bit fancier for a 5* but this is an old historic town and spa fit the bill. Got a nice massage w coconut oil that went the entire 60 min instead of usual 50 minutes in most fancy spas. 99$ for an hr got you into pools. Othervise $15 just for pools. Water runs right through, no chlorine and lived the vapor cave!!!! Like sitting in a mine

Lisa D.

Yelp
Highly recommended! Rooms are very clean and comfortable; old time, historic Colorado at its best. Hot springs are exceptional, clear hot water. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is excellent: quiet neighborhood, spectacular views of surrounding peaks and just a short walk to Main Street for breakfast or dinner.

Just A G.

Yelp
Do not waste your time or money. Used to be a gem-not one thing has been updated in 20 years. Not relaxing, over-crowded. You can get a massage in Telluride cheaper.

Allison C.

Yelp
Great service! We planned on going to other hot springs, but although we got there by their specified time, a rude employee said it was too late and wouldn't let us in. So, we called this place and the owner said not only would she let us come, but she'd let us stay in the hot spring pool past their normal closing time! When we arrived, she gave us loaner bathing suits, and didn't charge the normal entry fee.

Erin w.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Went with a couple friends and had an amazing experience. Loved the entire experience from the amazing vapor cave, pools, to to the homey room and welcoming staff. I cant wait to visit again and swim in the large outdoor hot spring fed pool during a snowy winter's night.

Dan T.

Yelp
The vapor cave is one of a kind. A must visit when in the south western slope.

Mike I.

Yelp
When in Ouray, you owe it to yourself to experience the Vapor Caves. Non-hotel guests pay $15/person to access both the underground caves as well as the spring-fed swimming pool. Vapor Caves were at 108 degrees, while the pool was 104 degrees. Impossible to retain any tension or stress after spending time in either of these.
