Wilbur's General Store

This place is a hidden gem ! It is deceiving how big this general store is! Something for everyone. Drinks snacks etc. Even have gluten free pasta

Great store has everything but the kitchen sink ..But they do have some stuff to fix it .lol . Food,drinks snacks, trinkets ,candles , Deli section , birthday an greetings cards .. hot meal get their Thursday by 1130 to get Pot Roast sandwich among other things .. cigs also no lottery that I saw cash or debit ....

For what it is, it’s great. If you come to this remote town and forgot something, they’ll probably have it at Wilbur’s. Nothing artisanal or fancy and that’s ok

This place is amazing. You start with a little convenience store and then move into a grocery store, then move to a hardware store then move into a gift shop. I think the only thing they don't have is elective surgery. Yet.

You can't not love Wilbur's. Its a historic gem, conveniently located for those living in and passing through Little Compton. They carry mostly everything you'd need, have a great deli, and everyone loves the store cheese.

Never been to this kind of store, A-Z everything you could want or need. It's nice there! My experience there was far from good. My son works @ this store. I showed respect towards everyone there i including staff and customers! Looked around, and I purchased a scripto candle lighter and a drink, bunch of people looking to buy lunch were in line I grabbed my drink and moved aside so the people could get thier food and head back to work. Forgetting my candle lighter behind accidently. My son came outside and gave me my item in a brown bag said thanks, and I would be giving him a ride home. While waiting , they serve nice hot ready to eat food grabbed 2 chili dogs. Sat on one of 2 benches outside and ate my lunch. There was a few people in the store, and asked woman that made every sloppy hotdogs, but delicious "Do I pay for these here?" No you pay at the register in the front of the store. Making my way to the front distracted by movement in the store almost left without paying caught myself turned and payed the 8 bucks for 2 hotdogs waiting for my son to get outta work, haven't seen much of him being disabled and hospitalized for the last 30 days I sat in my 2020 Impala waiting patiently for him to get out. Needed a drink for medication so went back in and got myself a Calypso drink get approached by the owner asking me"wow this is the 3rd time you have been in here today said yes to make a long story short accused me of trying to steal 2 different things very rude and disrespectful towards a paying customer. 1 pack of menthol 15.00 candle lighter 5.00 2 hotdogs 8 bucks 2 drinks for 6 bucks for both. Linda, Lori or whom ever you are treating people like this is not acceptable. You told me my son is a good kid and is very polite. He's my son that's how he was raised with honesty and respect. Take some notes!

This is the most general general store that I have ever seen - it has *everything*, ranging from fresh ingredients, meals to take out and food products, to hardware to clothing and foot wear, in a building that is much larger than it appears from the front. I especially liked the great range of kitchen wares and gadgets. Wonderful place to browse.

Little Compton is a beautiful and charming coastal Rhode Island town. There is much to commend Little Compton although it is mostly for it's natural beauty that you will find yourself coming here particularly in the summer when the beaches beckon. There are really no stores or restaurants to speak of here. It is curiously and interestingly a town devoid of much commercialism which is part of its charm. This is where Wilbur's General Store however is a god-send. It's the local market where chances are you will find whatever it is you need. The outside of the store is deceiving as it appears much smaller than it actually is inside. Once you're in there and start wandering around you find yourself traveling further and further back into the store. It keeps on going. Then there are twists and turns into side rooms filled with more merchandise. There is no supermarket in Little Compton and so if you find yourself short food or some other grocery item, this is likely the place you'll come before traveling a town or two over. In addition to groceries and deli counter you will also find gifts, some clothes, blankets, books, hardware items, and more. I'm sure I still haven't seen everything they have to sell here. The prices are on the higher side but for I get it for the convenience of this one stop shopping right in town. If you go to Little Compton in the winter when things are really, really, really quiet, one is super glad for the signs of life to be found in the Wilbur General Store.

You can find just about everything that you could possibly need when visiting a small New England town on the Farm Coast. Great Little Compton apparel, Even found a rubber ch. As expected it is a little expensive, but better than a 30min drive to the next closest store.

Best general store I've ever been to! Has everything you'd need and more. Awesome local items as well as everyday groceries. Love this little place - a true rare gem. Staff is super helpful and kind. What an awesome small town find.

Everything under the sun under one roof. If you live or visit Little Compton, (which really is little) this expansive store has just about everything you need whether you live in a house, a cabin, a tent, or in an underground burrow. My favorites are the natural sodas- Birch Beer, Root Beer, and other local brews. Nice little restaurant adjacent to the store. Didn't eat there, but the food looked pretty darn good.

If you ever find yourself in Little Compton, RI do yourself a favor and come here. I mean really, I'm not joking. In fact, make the extra trip to come here anyways. You will find yourself in a true old timey magical wonderland. Every room in this awesome place is completely different. At first you think it's like a regular general store, postcards keychains and the like. But then you turn a corner and you find home decorating items. Another corner you find a deli for sandwiches and the like. Another corner is the grocery items. Another room holds a small hardware section! It was awesome! I feel like I could have spent an hour walking around this store! A true New England gem!

Most everything you need to survive you can find at Wilbur's General Store. There are a few specialty things I've gone looking for and not found, but mostly a great selection of foodstuffs, personal items, and hardware. They've recently expanded their deli area. Can be pricey, but when you need something it's worth it.

Great, old-fashioned general store! You need something, you're more than like to find be it here! I spend my summers here in Little Compton and find myself here often. Four stars due to a bit pricey but can't beat the convenience and selection of everything: groceries, hardware, clothing, gifts, and a whole lot more!

Ordinarily, my experience at Wilbur's General Store has been great. The store carries a wide range of necessities as well as thoughtful extras. Generally, the staff is very pleasant. However, today's experience was less than satisfactory. Earlier today, my boyfriend purchased Sudafed, but when he got home, he realized it contained more than just the decongestant that he was seeking. When he tried to return the unopened medication two hours later, the store refused to let him return it. They said that medications could not be returned even though there is no posted sign indicating this store policy. In the future, the store might consider alerting its patrons that medications are not returnable.

Stopped by here on our last day in Little Compton vacation. If you are looking for souvenirs that say LC then this is your place. Fine gift section also with a general store too.

What can stated that other reviews have not said. I take first time visitors to Wilbur General Store if we are in the area. Truly this is a country store which offers Woolrich clothing, woolen blankets, toys, gifts, books, food, and hardware. They have a trivia board with questions for shopper to guess answers near the cash out. The store's exterior looks small but the shop's interior is quite expansive. Parking is in front and a side lot may be available at times.

I love these family runned store. The owers are great and friendly make you feel like your family. I high respect this store and there owners. They get great clothes and gifts high qulity.

VERY rude staff. Overpriced goods with small aisles. We visited Little Compton for a week, and tried our best to avoid after our horrible experience. Not the customer service we would expect from a small town grocery store.
