Beautiful flat trail following a creek for the first few miles. Lots of magnolia trees, baby ferns, pinecone, moss, and even some wildflowers. Enjoy these pictures of the trail in the evening on June 1st, 2023 around 7-8pm featuring my dog Bubba :)

A great easy hike for our family! We only did 5 miles but would love to take our bikes next time.

Great trail! Cleared up after storms, there are areas that look like they received lots of damage, but there are minimal trees down on the trail across the whole 25ish miles. A little difficult to hike point to point due to having to arrange two cars, but it's close enough to the city that a friend could help you out without being a huge inconvenience in their day, just a quick drive away!

Been here a hand full of times both in summer and winter and it's just a lovely place to hike or backpack. The trails are well marked and it's one of the longer trails in Louisiana. There are so many sights to see and though I've never seen them my self I've heard stories of "wild" horses and even a story about a feral emu.

I love this trail so much, I've been coming out here at least once a month since I found out about it last summer. I'll bring the dog and we camp out either near the castor scenic area or around miles 7.5 near the stream, not far from Kincaid loop and its trail.

Wonderful hiking/ biking trail You'll need a mountain bike, and you'll have to walk in areas. Walking the trail is great. Several places to leave the trail if you don't want to go the full 28(?) miles.

We went in the fall. I can’t wait to see it in the spring. It’s an easy trail to hike and very simple to follow. We will try a different trail on azalea our next visit. Just remember to look high and low, it’s filled with beauty and treasures of nature.
