Google
Love it! The flavors change almost daily, so I didn't get to try the Raspberry Vanilla or the Mexican Chocolate. Instead, I came back for a second round of Cosmic C3... Chocolate, Caramel, and Coconut! The best! Highly recommend this place before beer and after dinner. Can't go wrong.

Google
Best ice cream I ever had! I had “I am a nut “ and “Maine wild blueberry”. It was the consistency I like and the perfect sweetness! Just perfect! We will be back tonight!!

Max

Google
Affordable ice cream that isn't bought from a supplier. Good flavors and pretty quick service. You are able to taste test.

After supper, we wanted some dessert, so we headed to the Wild Cow Creamery. I loved that they had the mini scoops because we could try a lot of different flavors without being too full. The classic vanilla was good. The banana and peanut butter & jam was different yet yummy. The butter peacan was delicious, and the chocolate walnut brownie was just divine!

Google
Awesome ice cream. Great flavor selection. Great taste. This ice cream has the high quality of really good ingredients made with care. It would be nice to decorate the inside of the shop more as it came across as bare. But let’s be clear, the ice cream is excellent.

My husband and I were recently in Camden, and all the ice cream shops were closed for the day/season. We had passed through Belfast the previous day, so we decided to return and take time to explore. While walking along the harbor, I was ecstatic to see someone sitting outside a shop eating an ice cream cone! We enjoyed talking with the owner at Wild Cow Creamery and learning that he and his wife make the ice cream. It was delicious...so much better and less expensive than the ice cream we had several days later at a well-known ice cream shop in Bar Harbor.

Google
Tasty ice cream, not overly sweet. Some great flavors that are hard to find other places like lime and also ginger. Scoops a little smaller than we're used to. The line moved quickly. Friendly service. Not too many seats, but grab your ice cream and continue down the walking path. Drinks are available for purchase.

Stopped at the Bangor waterfront location and had lemon ice cream with Maine wild blueberries...absolutely delicious! So fresh and bright on a warm summer evening by the river.

Yelp
Cow Down One of two (the other is in Bangor) locally-owned ice cream shops that does things the right way--1.5gallons at a time. The Good: *All their ice cream bases and most add-ins are made from scratch in-house. *Great location along the Belfast Ha'bor Walk. *Small but mighty selection of ice cream and some sorbets. *Housemade waffle cones are the right call. And for $1.50 you can't go wrong. *Blueberry ice cream was fantasticly smooth and filled with fresh Maine Blueberry flavor. *Friendly service *Reasonable prices for a ice cream shop in a touristy area. The Meh: *Seasonal The Ugly: *Street Parking only in Belfast, so be prepared to drive around aimlessly on busier days. Conclusion: Delicious i creams made the right way and at a reasonable price.

Yelp
What's a vacation w/o some ice cream ? After having an awesome lunch at the nearby Nautilus Seafood & Grill, we happened upon the Wild Cow Creamery along the Belfast Harbor Walk. We needed some of that creamy goodness at that point, and Wild Cow didn't disappoint. My wife ordered a 2 scoop waffle cone of Maine Blueberry and some type of peanut butter variety. I went with a 2 scoop of Apple Crisp and Almond Toffee. All the flavors were fresh and flavorful, this was quality-made ice cream. No lines to speak of that day, but it was early October for our visit, I'm sure the Wild Cow does a brisk business during the Summer peak. A strong 4 Star rating.

Yelp
Cute little ice cream shop on Harborwalk in Belfast ME. However it was a surprise to be blown away by the flavors. Both dairy-free sorbet flavors (Berry Blast and Dark Chocolate) had a rich and creamy texture uncommon for Sorbets. For the ice creams, Apple Crisp and Triple Berry made eyes light up. Also Ryan was super nice and helpful. For comparison, we found this ice cream and sorbet even better than the deservedly famous Toscanini's in Cambridge MA, which is saying something.

Yelp
Fabulous great ingredients homemade ice cream!! Great service!! The best we've had in the area!! No crappy artificial, chemical laden garbage like so many other places proclaiming to be home style or homemade. Read the ingredients! As someone who cares about what I eat, this place is a breath of fresh air. Worth the trip!

Christine C.

Yelp
Ice cream was great! So lots of natural stuff going on, even natural sprinkles! Hard to find! This location was small and cute and I loved how friendly the woman working was. I got a peanut pretzel chocolate flavor that was so good. Its by the water, so you may have to look for it to find it. But worth it.

Garrett S.

Yelp
5 stars. Very good ices cream, friendly staff, generous servings, and the prices were reasonable.

Vinnie S.

Yelp
Wild Cow Creamery is a small ice cream shop in the quaint town of Belfast. The line was long so I had high hopes. I Waited in line for 20 minutes for chocolate chip ice cream, about half way through they ran out and they also didn't have any chocolate sprinkles, disappointing. They had two teenage girls working and they needed two more and another register. I got the butter wafer cookie ice cream (name might be off). It was very sweet and creamy and I enjoyed it. I give the ice cream a 4 (I would have preferred chocolate chip) and the service a 2 at no fault of the workers (management/owner's responsibility). Average the two together and you get 3 stars.

Raul O.

Yelp
Stopped in just as the place was about to close. Staff was welcome and very cheerful. We loved the ice cream and the prices were very reasonable.

Gina F.

Yelp
Friendly, efficient Service with a smile and the ice cream was so creamy and tasty. Mexican chocolate had just the right amount of spice without being too over the top. Wild Maine blueberry ice cream was a must try flavor!

Michael D.

Yelp
Just had one of the best and most interesting ice creams of my life: Coconut Cardamom. It was sweet and savory with a little bit of spice. It is such a fascinating flavor combination. I was obsessed. The lemon with blueberries was also delicious. Hubble got the vegan sorbets: tropical (pineapple, mango, peach & strawberry) which was super sweet and mildly tangy. He preferred the dark chocolate and said he couldn't tell it was vegan.

Jake A.

Yelp
Ice cream is 5 stars. He got s'mores. She got some pb ice cream with vanilla Oreo cookies. I got chocolate sorbet. They both liked theirs. Mine was great. Most sorbet is blah and icy. This was smooth and yummy. The two girls though took forever to get through the line. There isn't 800 options, how does it take you so long to get a scoop of ice cream in a dish? The out door swings back open so you have to work to actually shut the door. No where inside to sit. People suck and don't actually shut the door. Good sorbet!

Cait B.

Yelp
I've been both to this location and the Wild Cow location in Bangor! You used to be able to pick up the ice cream at a window, but at some point this year this changed so you can now order inside. The good thing is that it's air conditioned, but the bad thing is that you have to stand in a VERY packed line indoors. The ice cream is brilliant and pretty creative. There's Mexican hot chocolate flavor, mango sticky rice, you name it. I do feel like a lot of their ice cream and their handmade waffle cones could use a tiny amount of salt in the recipe, and its absence is noticeable, especially in the chocolate ice cream. The service is the same at both locations: Polite but not friendly, with "Christian private school" vibes. I guess that might be for some people, but it isn't really for us.

Heliomaster E.

Yelp
Perfect way to end the day with a delicious perfect sized scoop of yummy flavorful ice cream. We had both ice cream ( bananaNut, wild blueberry made with local blueberries, chocolate, blueberry sorbet, and chocolate sorbet) all were fantastic. The sorbets are packed with flavor and the ice cream is yummy, creamy, just perfect. The place is small and hidden in the back. Park in the dirt lot by the ships and brewery. Totally worth it!

Harley S.

Yelp
This is THE spot for world class homemade ice creams and sorbets. Love the non-dairy options, including rich dark chocolate sorbet that will blow your mind (you won't believe it's not dairy), and some fresh fruit flavors that are as intense and bright as any I've had in France or Italy. The vanilla ice cream is as rich and intense as a great gelato, and the fruit toppings (if you're into that) are homemade and wonderful. Lots of places up and down the Maine coast claim to have great ice cream and draw big lines, but most are just tourist traps. Wild Cow Creamery is the REAL DEAL.

Kylee W.

Yelp
Probably the best ice cream we have ever had--and we live in an area known for its amazing creameries! I had the Grandpas Rhubarb and my son and husband had the blueberry. Both were fantastic!! (I stole some of my husband's ). Highly recommended--this is a must stop if you're in Belfast!!!

Kari S.

Yelp
Not for people with service animals! My husband was acosted by the owner when he walked in with his service animal. His dog is small, service not ESA, but doesnt look like a "typical" service animal. Husband showed an ID card we received and yet was treated with snide remarks about what a working/trained service animal should be. He was not denied service but the treatment was abhorrent! Unless you have a lab with a handled harness, don't bother going to this place.

Doc P.

Yelp
This place is sooooo good!! Definitely can taste the care and attention that goes into making these flavors! I sampled so many and it was hard to pick a flavor, all so good!

Evelyn M.

Yelp
This is amazing big ... double scoop with fresh ingredients! Get there early if you want a waffle cone as the sell out! Also plan to stand in line and respect their request to wear a mask when ordering.

Grace D.

Yelp
Somewhat fast service, amazing ice cream and tucked away in a corner of the town. Perfect for a chocolate lover. Would recommend for the family.

Emma M.

Yelp
I just got back from a 3-month trip to Maine, and I love Wild Cow Creamery. I have tried their Chocolate and fruity sorbets and they were so delicious. I'm typically not someone who loves sorbet but the way that this creamery makes their sorbet is phenomenal. It's creamy and flavorful, almost in the same way that ice cream is. If I hadn't seen that it was sorbet, I never would have guessed. The employees are also really nice. I would definitely come here again and would recommend it to anyone in town.

Mark R.

Yelp
Go for it , all flavors are amazing, my favorites are orange chip, blueberry crumble and chocolate brownie, great prices too, get the fresh made waffle cone it only a buck

Pam H.

Yelp
Disappointing hot fudge sundae made with chocolate syrup rather than hot fudge. Hoping it was an honest mistake by the person scooping rather than what is standard.

Lacy D.

Yelp
Had to have ice cream on National Ice Cream day! They had about 12 different flavors and most were quite unique (mango sticky rice, lemon blueberry), but we opted for plain chocolate and pecan turtle. The pecan turtle wasn't overly sweet, it was more savory and the caramel bits were perfectly gooey. A single scoop was $4, double was $6. So yum!

Beth P.

Yelp
This is worth a trip. This is wonderful worth-a-detour ice cream. You line up and get it from a window and then walk around the Belfast waterfront. Nothing more to add.

Patricia C.

Yelp
DELICIOUS, creamy ice cream. Excellent customer service. Interesting flavor selections. Can't wait to return

Ashley K.

Yelp
Just tried Wild Cow Creamery yesterday for the first time and it was one of the best ice creams I've ever had! There are many unique flavors available- I tried a scoop of the strawberry rhubarb and a scoop of the mexican hot chocolate and they were both so delicious! There were vegan and allergy-friendly options as well. Would highly recommend this place to any ice cream lover!

Vince O.

Yelp
Ordered chocolate milkshake it was 80% milk very runny with little chocolate flavor. I asked if they could add another scoop of ice cream to make it thicker and they said only if I paid extra. Very poor milkshake very poor service

Steve A.

Yelp
Wild Cow Creamery is THE place to get your artisan ice cream fix while visiting Camden. It's kind of out-of-the-way underneath the back of a business close to the water... I think that they're trying to hide the place! Joy had the coffee & orange chip ice cream in a cup. She let me try it... WOW! The orange chip was delicious! I went for a sugar cone of chocolate & coffee. Great stuff. Highly recommended.

Nick B.

Yelp
Ice cream was good but customer service can be worked on. Ordered an ice cream cone for my 5 year old. It started to melt but they refused to give me an empty cup for some reason to put the cone in. This wasn't a problem in the past so not sure what changed. Guess I need to bring my own cup next time. Ridiculous.

Violet C.

Yelp
I've been to Belfast 4 times and I've never gone to this wonderful creamery, why? Glad I stopped in this time! They were the only ones who were open later in the day and they have THE best ice cream! I had sorbet, which was fantastic and I tasted my husband's ice cream which was also GREAT! Service is wonderful and friendly and I like that you can sit outside in warmer weather. Can't wait to go back and pay them another visit!

Standard O.

Yelp
This is ice cream worth a detour. It's fresh, flavorful, and the view of the harbor is excellent. Enjoy!

Sara U.

Yelp
As someone who can't eat dairy, ice cream parlors usually make me sad. I walked in with my brother to find they had not one but two delicious-sounding sorbets - a dark chocolate and a berry. I got one scoop of each (two scoops costing about $5) and ate them together, and I was blown away by the amount of flavor and richness they were able to have! Would definitely go back here. My favorite dessert of my entire Maine trip, made even better by being able to walk the Belfast Harbor Walk path and eat it as I looked over the water at all the boats.

Ron P.

Yelp
One of the best ice creams we've had! My wife had the chocolate walnut brownie in a sugar cone, which had fresh ingredients which all were high quality and a well balanced delicious treat. I had the blueberry crumble in a sugar cone which was all organic and bursting with flavor with the oatmeal based crumble that had a great texture and taste! The only way to improve this was to have fresh made waffle cones. The owner who served us was super friendly and gave us some nice tips on things to do in the area.

Nick W.

Yelp
Key lime flavored ice cream was yummy. You could tell it was made with real ingredients. The kid cup is very small. Perfect size if you just want a small serving!

Barb S.

Yelp
Second time in Belfast and knew we didn't want to miss this amazing ice cream. It didn't disappoint!

Aneta W.

Yelp
I am a little surprised with the raving reviews. The flavors are interesting and indeed VERY good, pronounced and taste like the real ingredients. Also not too sweet which is very important for me (this is often the case in the US). Service is very nice as well. However, the biggest disappointment was the texture. Very watery and almost a little grainy (especially the salted caramel), completely lacking creaminess that you expect in good and quality ice cream. If that was improved; they could be 5-star ice cream.

Tom W.

Yelp
Great flavor combinations! We were staying in Belfast and came across this ice cream store and loved it immediately. I got the chocolate brownie but my son ate most of it before I could indulge.

Tilaye Z.

Yelp
Omg! We're visiting from PA, leaving tomorrow morning and by far the best Maine spot we found thus far. I am blown away how worth it the long line was. The waffle cone was amazing, the walnut crunch even better. Their berry sorbet was 5 stars also. A must visit, we'll certainly be back every trip to Maine. Also I'll add, AMAZING SERVICE. They were super busy and still maintained a smile and a conversation. Thanks Wild Cow, we'll be back and telling everyone we know about it!

Lila A.

Yelp
great vegan options, the dark chocolate sorbet was absolutely delicious and the mango carrot sorbet was almost just as good. My favorite spot for ice cream in this area by far!!

Rob L.

Yelp
I'm sorry, I cannot agree with these reviews. Ice cream was not very "creamy". Expensive compared to other great spots in Central Maine.

Veggie M.

Yelp
Three words: All natural ingredients! Also awesome: organic soda for ice cream floats, homemade real whipped cream for topping(!!), and gluten free cones available. The owner was super friendly, too. Picnic tables nearby or enjoy your cone while you walk the waterfront. This place is a gem!

J. C.

Yelp
My family and friends love the chocolate sorbet. Staff can be a bit abrupt but guess that's just corona virus stress. We'll keep coming back!

Adam G.

Yelp
They kindly let us try quite a lot of flavors. Winners were the mango sticky rice and the dark chocolate sorbet. Some of the others weren't to our taste but that's the cool thing about being able to try before you buy. It's also a lovely harbor nearby to wander around

Rachel M.

Yelp
Words cannot describe how much I love this place. It is some of the best ice cream you will ever have. If you are fortunate enough to go here when they have their rhubarb crumble ice cream, do yourself a favor and get a big ole scoop of it. They always have a rotating list of creative and homemade flavors, and every time I come in there's something new that I have to try. The Sweet Annie and Sour cream Chocolate flavors are also favorites of mine.

Keara C.

Yelp
Found this place rather by chance on a walk down to the waterfront. Boy are we glad we did! The three of us have arguably never had such good ice cream, and we've tried and reviewed quite a few excellent ice cream places around the state. Not only was every flavor smooth, rich and natural (the "blueberry cobbler" had local wild blueberries, no cloying fake blueberry taste), but the servings were very sizable for the price. "Half scoops" were actually what I'd call regular scoops. I got a chocolate-covered strawberry sorbet, which was essentially pure, fresh strawberry puree, with delicate dark chocolate slivers that melted on my tongue. The most delicious sorbet I've ever had! Last but not least: Freshly made (and superbly tasty and crisp) waffle cones are only $1 (as of this review)!

H L.

Yelp
Unique flavors and every single one is worth it! Pair any flavor with the delicious vinegars AND have a side of nitro cold brew. Seriously, skip dessert anywhere else and come here for ice cream. Mmm....,

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
We have been searching all over the mid coast for exceptional ice cream. We found it here. This creamery will be the reason we drive 50 minutes from home to Belfast. Real. Fresh. Original. Yum.

Doug S.

Yelp
Never a disappointment. New flavors all the time. High quality ingredients. A must stop when you are on the harbor walk.

Aric B.

Yelp
Very, very good! Smooth and light ice cream. Highly recommend. Great range of flavors.
