The spa at Sweetgrass was hands down one of the best EXPERIENCES I had while VISITING wild dunes for the day. Upon walking in , I was greeted happily by Alyssa, who guided me through a tour of all the amenities and attended to my every need in such a timely manner. Everything was so nicely displayed and the ambience was perfect. I didn’t receive a service but was able to enjoy the amenities day pass for the day and left feeling extremely grateful that genuine customer service is still alive and well. The boutique was also an amazing way to end the day and so beautifully displayed and beautiful products. I will be bring my wife back here soon to ENJOY this 5 star experience again.

Sure wish I had read the reviews. While the amenities may be pretty the rooms are done not giving a thought to there being more than one person. Bathroom separated and Hot. Only one person can get ready at a time as there is not another mirror anywhere and lots of wasted space out in the room, perfect for a wall mirror. Thermostat set to no lower than 68 and we all know how HOT Charleston is. Hard to sleep unless you have your own fan . So we left and went and bought a floor fan and a mirror just to try to get by until we can Leave. Step into and out of the shower is 5 inches (fall hazard) and the beds are so high off the ground that anyone under 5'7 has a difficulty getting in. Parking absolutely horrible and they overbook so that there's no chairs at the pool. The two pools at the ocean were absolutely filthy, bottom of pools were black and the tile around the lip of the pool was black. The adult only pool (heated) was HOT! Like Hot tub hot!. The parking lot is not lighted nor is the path back to the hotel. The path to the Sweetgrass Inn is GRAVEL and not lighted. They are just waiting on a lawsuit for these problems. Trash outside of our room when we checked in was still there when we left. Table beside the elevator had not been cleaned so that kids had written their names in the dust! Day 1 they closed one of the pools for an event. Day 2 they closed the other. No Sign Board saying 'today this pool will be closing at 3 pm" Just walk out and say 'You have to move' so the already overcrowded pools are twice as bad. These pools serve the Boardwalk Inn and all the condos along the boardwalk. The Sweetgrass Inn pools were so very crowded that the convention people were in the Boardwalk pools. They need to send someone down to the pools to hear the feedback everyone is saying. Mgr claimed they are not fully staffed until Memorial Weekend yet they had a convention and 2 weddings in the 4 days we were there. Hyatt Global needs to get a hold of this Managment team and shake it up - it is NOT 4 Star. Wasted 4 days and 80000 points. Disappointed in Hyatt.

I stayed here for a work convention. The resort is well suited to host business conferences. That said, I wouldn’t stay here for a vacation. Although, it seemed as though there were many families staying here for a vacation. As a single individual, I don’t see the value. The resort is expensive. The rooms are expensive and the onsite restaurants are expensive. Also, the hours of the restaurants and coffee shop just didn’t sink up with vacation hours. The food quality was okay, nothing special. Charleston is about 40 minutes away during most of the day. Uber worked great, especially to and from the airport (CHS).

The actual resort is very beautiful and has enough amenities for a short stay. We stayed at the Boardwalk hotel and was very underwhelmed with the rooms, very dated tub was in disrepair shower curtain was a rag at best. Toilet was crooked. Everytime we saw the cleaning staff they were watching videos on their phones instead of cleaning. This Hyatt was definitely a disappointment felt more like a lesser brand hotel chain. Wait staff in the morning was very pleasant but night time server was very disorganized and missed orders at our table.

We stayed for the third year in a row at the Boardwalk in a few weeks ago, and left a bit disappointed. Valet, which had traditionally been complimentary, was now $35 a day. With two small kiddos, it’s a necessity. Coffee in the lobby (super convenient early in the morning when nothing is open) was always complimentary, now we had to walk to buy it. The room itself was hot, seems like there are always issues with the air when we come. Carpet was not vacuumed. Shop hours didn’t align with what was posted online. The restaurants prices were outrageous ($23 for an omelet). Not sure if we’ll be back, but it definitely was more expensive for less this time around.

Good thing they get captive customers due to weddings and events. We will never come or recommend this place. Terrible maintenance issues all over from the homes to the 400/night room we have in the Boardwalk with rust on the door jambs, 1970 decor… |Went for a late breakfast at 11am on a Saturday and we were misdirected but a number of staff to places that had closed for lunch. If you’re in a restaurant, you must know where to send customers to meet their needs. Ate in a number of places and experienced very average food and above average prices. |Hyatt should be ashamed.

Overall very nice, but definitely not worth the money. We were here during a non-peak time and the even at that there was almost no room at the pool or seating areas. This resort is clearly undersized for number of potential guests, especially if your plans are to stay on property. Other than tennis and golf, we could not find any more casual resort activities like volleyball, crochet, or shuffleboard. We stayed at the Sweetwater Hotel, and the number of small kids made for very loud and unruly experience. I would not recommend the hotel for couples looking to get away for a romantic or quite holiday. Parking was infuriating, the size of the self-park lot was small, holding maybe 50 cars, which for the size of this resort is way undersized. The resorts solutions was to valet park at $35/night, which might sit well with some but isn't my preference.

Hotel and all surroundings are wonderful. Only bad experience was with the restaurant manager at breakfast who was extremely rude. As a Globalist Elite Member who spends upwards of 1/2 million every year on hotels, I would expect better treatment other than being treated like a child for asking to sit outdoors and being told we are not playing musical tables. I'm still fuming about this.
