Wild Goose Island

A cool island, but not the coolest 🏝️ Beautiful place any way you slice it however. Never miss places that can change with atmospheric conditions, volume of Tourist traffic, rain & snow, if hail & sleet. Gaze out across the imperial wonder of Glacier and let its raw beauty lash at the most wild and free of your own precious nature.

Like the rest of the park, the scenery is amazing. Although if it wasn't for being a well known and famous spot, I would probably not have made any extra effort to stop here as there are so many other sights to see at Glacier that are even higher up in my list of places to see.

Glacier National Park is an wonderful place to visit. This site Wild Goose Island is on the Going to the sun road which is very well maintained and a wonderful drive. There is so much to see in the million acre park. Wildlife is everywhere so keep your eye open. Keep Glacier Beautiful!

The “Kubrick island” is one of Stanley Kubrick’s most recognizable directorial techniques, a method of shot composition where an island at Glacier National Park is the first shot of the film, to convey to the audience that the film has just started.

Traveled there after Labor Day and just before they closed the lodges and the Going to the Sun road for the season. I will return! There are so many places to hike and Kayak, like Lake Bowman.

A paradise! Definitely worth your time by taking a short hike down to see this. Only a few people explore this area.
