It’s hard for me to describe how much I hated my experience here despite the 3 stars. When I arrived, I couldn’t find my group. I looked around me at the nearby tables (which were taken) for a menu, QR code, or something with a beer list, but couldn’t find anything obvious so I got in line at the bar. The bar didn’t have any visible menus except right at the counter where the bartender was taking orders. I waited my turn and approached the bartender, informing him that I couldn’t find a menu or QR code before arriving at the bar. The bartender told me that there are QR codes at the tables (more on that later). I started scanning the menu in front of me and had a hard time interpreting it, because I’m a simpleton and don’t know what things like “honeysuckle and hay” tastes like. After not even 5 seconds (I didn’t make it through reading half the description of the first beer), rather than offer help, suggestions, or explain the concept of the brewery, the bartender asked me to step out of the line. Note that there were two adjacent lines, so they would have been able to keep people flowing. I hastily ordered the top-most beer on the menu I had barely started reading but saw the word “sour”, took my $12 tiny pour in a stemmed glass, and found my group. After sitting down, I finally found the menu at a table, which was simply a QR code in a small faux leather booklet that looked much like what the final bill comes out in. And unfortunately the experience didn’t get better because the music was so loud that I could barely hold a conversation with the people sitting right next to me, and I left the place with my ears ringing and my voice hoarse.
1 star because of the service, price, and extremely loud music
3 stars because the interior design was beautiful, the the sour beer tasted great, and they know how to move an ordering line quickly, I guess
If you like beer in fancy glasses, know what kind of barrel you want your beer to have been aged in, and like describing beer in obscure terms, then this is your place.
If you want to just drink a no-nonsense reasonably priced beer, maybe get some help from a friendly bartender, and be able to hold a conversation with your friends, you should steer clear.
