The 6 Best Hostels in Cusco (Updated 2025)

"If you want to enjoy Cusco's nightlife, this is the party choice — there's always something going on from bar parties to cultural experiences like cooking classes and salsa lessons, plus panoramic views from the bar. I noticed several common areas and a co-working space, and while the uphill walk from the city center can be taxing at altitude, most dorms have pod-style beds with reading lights, outlets, privacy curtains (in some rooms), and large lockers; the dorms are located separately from the bar so you can still get a decent night's sleep if you don't join the festivities." - Matthew Kepnes

One of the best hostels I've been to. Definitely the place to be if you're a solo traveller! If you're a female solo traveller I'd heavily suggest booking a only female dorm, the beds are amazing, very spacious and they come with a tent to have much needed privacy after long travel days. The room I was in was very quiet even with people partying outside. Hot showers, beautiful view of the city from the bar, and amazing memories. Much better than other party hostels in Cusco :)

Rooms are quiet and beds are comfy with a pod style bunk bed feels private and keeps the light out. The views from the bar are unmatched. A great courtyard with beanbags and sun beds for a relaxing day in the sun. If you are doing a trek they have a big bag storage room while you are away for a few days.

I had an amazing stay! The vibe was great, the place was clean and full of energy. A big shoutout to Angeli — she was incredibly helpful, always friendly and willing to assist with anything we needed. Her attitude really made the experience even better. I’d absolutely come back without a doubt!

Rooms are clean and all bunks have curtains and lights. Bathrooms are clean too! There are lots of events on which is great and the staff are very friendly. The bar/restaurant staff are very welcoming. George also makes very good cocktails! Location wise, it’s only a 10 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas and the view from the bar is incredible. It’s at the top of a massive hill though so I would take a taxi/uber back when exploring to avoid the hill when you’re getting used to the altitude!

this place is the bomb. it was my favorite hostel i stayed in while traveling! shower was so warm, everything was clean, and they moped our dorm floors while i was there. it’s VERY social and they have a restaurant that turns into a lively bar right on campus. the food at the restaurant wasn’t anything glamorous but still good! beds were VERY comfy. WE LOVE YURI!! we befriended him at the front desk and he answered any questions we had and was very helpful. he’s so nice and funny too! when we came back for our gear after our machu picchu hike, we were sad he wasn’t at the front desk. i would stay at wild rover everywhere i go!

Fun experience, as all hostels you need to put yourself out there to have a good time. Rafa the bar manager is a crowd leader, knows how to create a good vibe. Rooms are above average for a 20 bed door but nothing luxurious.

Awesome hostel, this def a party hostel but the views and great and the food at the restaurant isn't bad either. Overall, my experience was great. If you are walking everywhere just make sure you know that it is a little bit uphill from plaza de armas

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hostel is full of all the worst types of people you will come across travelling. Selfish and inconsiderate. In our 4 bed dorm we had people having sex for 3 hours even though we shouted at them to stop and then one of them preceded to throw up over my bag. No apology from them.||I had to leave in the morning and the hostel had no solution to washing my clothes meaning I had to take sick cover clothes with me and because it’s the weekend I cannot get them washed. We had our nights ruined as we had no sleep, clothes covered in vomit and the room stank. I am livid. It took two hours of negations for us to get a refund and the culprit faced no repercussions.||I have stayed in many hostels across the world and never had anything like this happen before. It was a disgrace. Do not stay here if you value a good night sleep and want your belongings to not be covered in vomit!!!
