The Essential Guide to Mount Rainier National Park

"Owned by Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, a mountaineering legend who holds the record for the fastest base camp-to-summit ascent of Everest, the seasonal Wildberry Restaurant brings Himalayan cuisine to the high Cascades. Fuel up on pork-stuffed momos (dumplings), savory stews, and thali plates made by chef Fulamu, Lhakpa’s wife and the co-owner of the restaurant, as well as comforting American classics like grilled cheese sandwiches and big burgers." - Zoe Baillargeon Zoe Baillargeon Zoe Baillargeon is a freelance writer and creative copywriter who specializes in travel, tourism, and food journalism. Good food, fast service, and a convenient spot for a hungry post-park visit. Our party of four was seated right away with the option to sit indoors or outdoors. Orders were taken promptly, and hot food arrived within minutes. A note for first-timers: some special items like the Thali come with rice only (-no bread or extras) so manage expectations if you’re used to buffets or free refills in the greater Seattle area. Still, the location, friendly service, and tasty dishes make it worth the visit.

Lunch 10/7/25: we thoroughly enjoyed our traditional Nepali lunch: pork mono, and the lentil soup. The pork mono sauce was a great addition to the meal. Service was very prompt. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are visiting Mt. Rainier

“Wait.. you mean that guy has the Guiness World Record for fastest Mt. Everest climb?” Yep, your waiter is going to be fast, friendly and maybe even that guy. Food simple and delicious. Don’t miss it.

Google
It's an authentic Himalayan cuisine experience. The menu is very simple but done very well. There's the typical American fare, but please go for the Himalayan specials. Seriously, don't come all the way here for the burger. Go for the Thali, Stew, and momo. It's more subtle than Indian cuisine but it's delicious in its own way. You can imagine if you were hiking a cold snowy mountain, these would definitely be the type of food you'd want to warm your body and soul. It's not fancy, it's just... Homely. The staff are very nice and it's a well oiled machinery. Food comes out fairly quickly. Ample parking available. They also sell Nepal made hats and other souvenirs. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area.

Google
Perfect if you're staying locally. The young gentleman who took our order was incredibly efficient and straight to the point. We sat outside which was nice going into the evening. Went for the summit burger which safe to say I undestimated! Thanks for the great evening.

Google
Came in after a long drive and day at Mt Rainier. Location is great, food comes out fast. My husband had the dumplings and I had the tenders. The couple next to us had burgers and they looked amazing. We were trying to take our time but they keep asking if we were done. Its a small place inside with plenty of seats outside. The menu is limited but sufficient to grab a good dinner after hiking all day. Drinks are limited and so is dessert. The pie was not great (maybe it was our piece) and that was disappointing

Google
Food was amazing! We got the Sherpa stew and the chicken thali. Portions were perfect and food was warm, comforting and delicious! The story of the owners time being a Sherpa on Everest was also very impressive. Highly recommend trying them out on your way to or from Paradise!

Was staying across the street at Alexander’s lodge. This is one of the only decent options nearby. So decided to give a try. They have indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. The server helped is get a table quickly. Ordered a few things. It took some time for the order because the restaurant was packed. 1. Fish and Chips: These were decent tasting and the fries were nice and crunchy. 2. Veg Thali: It came with chole (chickpea curry), rice and dal (lentil soup). Everything was tasty. 3. Dal (lentil soup): Kids basically ate this with a side of rice and they liked it. Overall the food and service were good.

Yelp
This restaurant is super unique bc they serve Himalayan food along with classic American foods. We come here every time we visit mt rainier since it's close to the entrance to Paradise. The food is flavorful and cooked to perfection. During previous visits, we've ordered onion rings and burgers which were fantastic. Service is quick and they have lots of infographics on the wall! Pork momo: 5/5 Chicken thali: 5/5

Yelp
This is a really intriguing Nepalese/American restaurant located right outside the west end of Mt. Rainier National Park. It's owned by a famous Sherpa, who has a small section of the restaurant as kind of a museum to display his accomplishments and allow guests to purchase merch. The restaurant offers free wifi, which was unexpected! I thought it would be empty when we visited for linner at 3PM, but they actually had a decent number of customers inside. Chicken Thali ($22.99) - Quite an array of small dishes comes with this meal. Firstly a bit of lentil dahl, taking inspiration from the link with India. Flavorful with turmeric, allium, curry, cumin, and other spices, smooth and easy to eat. There's a kind of carrot and pea slaw, quite spicy actually, and also pleasingly piquant. Fresh veggies fill another side tray, and finally we run into the main two dishes. Firstly, perfectly cooked basmati rice, moist but with a nice tender yet firm texture. There's then boneless chicken thigh chunks in a very flavorful gravy that seems to be tomato based and seasoned very well. This is stewed, so it's a bit dry, but the gravy and rice make a great accompaniment. (4/5) Sherpa Stew ($15.99) - Very vegetal and meaty tasty stew. It's a thick stew with tons of ingredients packed inside, including carrot, onion, and celery hand chopped into larger chunks. They veggies are softened but not mushy at all and instead still have a bit of a body. There are also green beans to round out the veggies, and then for the meat a good number of beef chunks. The soup is thickened into almost a gravy. I think it's mirepoix and tomato based, but I'm not certain. Regardless of ingredients, it's very flavorful. Overall, it's a very hearty homestyle stew, which seems especially great for after a long winter hike. (4/5) Pork Momo ($15.99) - These seem to be homemade dumplings, with a thicker chewy wrapper, not doughy, and with a great pleating technique that ensures an even cook throughout. The filling is a compact, dense meatball, juicy, with the flavor of cumin, pork, and aromatics. The momos are served with a tomato chutney that also seems to be homemade. It's blended but still a bit chunky. It tastes a bit like garlic, full of balanced umami, without any of the strong acidity from fresh tomatoes. The momo pleats catch the sauce perfectly when dipped in upside down. (4/5) Wildberry Restaurant was certainly a fun place to stop by for linner after hiking near Mt. Rainier! Considering that it's one of the very few restaurants in the area, it seems like a no brainer to visit for some good grub. Bathrooms - Two rooms that require code, which can be found on the back of the drink menu.

Yelp
Delicious Nepalese & American restaurant just minutes outside Mt. Rainer park! We stopped here just before closing after a day at Mt. Rainer, and were seated right away. We sat outside on their large covered patio. Service was very fast and the food was good - I got the Chicken Thali. The chicken was tender in a delicious curry, and the lentil soup that came with was perfect for a cool rainy day. Would recommend for anyone stoping for dinner on the way out of the park!

Yelp
At the outskirts of Mt. Rainier national park, is this gem of a place. They are always packed and parking is hard. I feel like we got the last spot of the day and ordered in the last 35 mins before it closes. In $73, we got: - pork momos - 5/5- 8 pcs with yummy dipping sauce (contains sesame). Loved the good quality meat and flavorful dipping sauce. - chicken thali - 4/5- it comes with rice, yellow lentil soup, salad, pickle and chicken curry. The chicken curry and pickles were the best. I wish they reduced quantity of rice and added a roti/ bread as an option - berry pie and ice cream - 5/5- the pie was warm and gooey and it paired perfectly with the vanilla scoop ice cream. Huge portion size. Definitely to share! - chicken burger - 4.5/5- organic good quality chicken breast with yummy toppings. It was amazing. Only thing missing was good hot sauce to go with it. It comes with fries. Loved it!! Service was friendly and quick. Outdoor seating was pleasant.

Yelp
Restaurant outside of Rainier National Park that serves burgers and Nepali food. The place is usually packed during meal times and is owned by a Sherpa mountaineer who has submitted Mount Everest many times. He even holds a world record. Service was prompt and efficient but not quite friendly. The food was a bit costly since it is in a semi-remote area but pretty good tasting. I recommend getting rice with the Sherpa stew for a filling hearty meal. I had leftovers. The chicken thali comes with some pickled and raw vegetables, rice, and lentil soup. The soup was good. The chicken was ok.

Yelp
Had a great time and was amazed by the quality of the food. Everything we tried was delicious! And the story that is presented of the history of the owner was equally interesting.

Yelp
came by after a long day of hiking and got seated right away. service was super friendly and the food came out fast. we had the fish and fries, samosas, and a burger with onion rings, everything hit the spot. if we're back in mount rainier, we'd definitely stop by again.

Yelp
This place popped up when I was searching for nearby restaurants with vegan options, so my friends and I dined here after a long day at Mount Rainier National Park. There was a little bit of a line, so we barely inched in before they stopped taking customers. First impressions is that this definitely has a mom and pop feel. We sat in a rather crowded patio, undoubtedly most of the diners were tourists much like us. The service was fairly prompt, and the food was decent. I will say that my Vegetarian Thali could have had a tad more salt, but I felt pretty nourished satiated. I think my companions felt similarly about their dishes. We were happy to have a little mix of vegetables and fresh ingredients after dining on snacks all day long. I only realized this upon leaving and looking at the restaurant website a week later, but this place is owned by well known sherpa (Lhakpa Gelu - he holds record for fastest ascent of Mount Everest) and his wife. They have a little nook displaying his mountaineering equipment and certificates and news stories documenting his amazing feat.

Yelp
Great food! Super easy to get a table and the wait for service was short. The service was helpful and wonderful. The food was hot and delicious and plentiful. So glad we stopped here!

Yelp
Great service and friendly staff. Salad was decent but their blackberry pie, WOW! Delicious! Cute little cafe right outside Mt Rainer!

Yelp
We stopped here for a meal after our hike in Rainier National Park, and it was the perfect spot for it. Close to the Southwest entrance with delicious food, comfortable seating, and good service. We had the pork momo and chicken thali with the samosas for an appetizer. Everything was fresh and tested great! If we're ever back in the area we'll certainly stop by again
google avatar

Mihir M.

Yelp
Very close to the Longmire visitor center before entering the park, this restaurant has a variety of American, Nepali and vegetarian food. Parking was overflowed to the street. Seating was in a shared table though they have smaller tables as well. There is indoor & outdoor seating. Food came relatively quickly. There is a lot of history here with memorabilia of treks to Mt Everest & Mt Rainier. For vegetarians, there is a Thali & samosas. The staff were quite busy & did not talk much- they were clearly working hard & fast, but you can get a good meal here.

Yelp
I did not like the food and he was nice to change it but started speaking his dialect with other staff right after. People should know that this is rude. I got the fish and chips and it was okay.

Yelp
This is a neat little place just a mile from the entrance to Mount Rainier national Park. It is owned by a Sherpa who set climbing records at Mount Everest, and has a display of his gear inside. The food was standard, but pretty tasty. The wife's veggie thali had a lot of flavor to it, as did my pork Momos. And the Marion blackberry pie, which is homemade, was a delicious dessert.

Yelp
Sadly had a pretty negative experience here recently. We'd been excited to see this option near Mount Rainier national Park and we came around 6:30 on a busy weekend. the restaurant was active, but definitely not full. The staff member that sat us was very brusque, and put us at a table inside. There seemed to be a nice outdoor patio area so I asked if there was a table available outside - she kind of snapped at me and I couldn't totally understand her, but I think she said big tables outside? I understand if there wasn't space for us due to restaurant constraints, but didn't appreciate feeling chastised for asking. As others have mentioned, the price is on some of the food is high, but I get that they are operating in a region with not that many other options. We ordered a burger and the veggie thali, which to their credit came out quickly and was decent. While we were waiting, the table next to us was telling us that they had also asked if there were available tables outside, but had been directed inside, whereas we saw many active couples being sat outside almost right after we walked in. Noticing that a few two times had left, we asked if we could move outside while waiting for our food, to a different staff. Member responded 'your food is coming soon' - which is fine, but shouldn't really affect where we sit? All of the interactions made us feel pretty unwelcome there, and we basically ate our food ASAP and left. We were thinking about trying some dessert but didn't really wanna stay. The last thing that felt oversold was that Vitale is listed as coming with some vegetables, and there was literally one single baby carrot, and one broccoli floret on the plate. We wouldn't recommend this to others.

Yelp
Food: a mixed bag. The Sherpa stew was tasty and comforting. I ordered rice with it, which made it more filling after a long hike. My boyfriend's Summit burger was gross--three nasty, previously frozen patties. The fries that came with it were decent. Service: a bit slow and inattentive. I asked for some more hot water for tea, and it never arrived. Ambiance: the interior smells moldy, so we sat outside. The seats are super uncomfortable out there. All and all, this is an "okay" place. There aren't many options in the area, so it's better than nothing. If you stick with the Nepalese dishes, you'll likely be pleased.

Yelp
We stayed in Ashford for 4 nights to see Mount Rainier so we got to sample most, if not all, restaurants that are available in this small town. Out of the 4 we tried, Wildberry was my second favorite. I got the pork momos and they were so comforting, especially after a long day at Mount Rainier. The ground pork was really tasty and I liked that the dumpling skin wasn't too soft from being steamed. The sauce that came with the dish was a little thin, but it still added flavor. The fries were also pretty spot on as they had a nice crispy texture and a good amount of seasoning. Unfortunately, I found their blackberry pie to be way too sour, which makes me question their ripeness. We got it with vanilla ice cream, and it was an absolute necessity to have sugar to balance out the sourness. Despite the good food, the service wasn't the friendliest, which was pretty in line with the overall customer service we got during our trip to Mount Rainier. The hostess was a little unfriendly and hostile when she greeted us, but at least our server was pleasant. Compared to other restaurants in the area, I preferred the food at Wildberry over Paradise Village Restaurant and Rainier Basecamp Bar and Grill.

Yelp
Surprisingly solid experience. Quick service, food prepared fast, and lovely tent-covered outdoor seating. Enjoyed the samosas and the Caesar salad. The hamburger was solid and great seasoned fries. Only slight disappointment was the crust on the marionberey/blackberry pie, and that it was $9 a slice.

Greg D.

Yelp
Food was amazingly delicious. Chicken thali and the Marion + black berry pie a la mode. Chef's kiss. Really cool ambiance with the Everest alpinist who works in the restaurant. Great service and staff.

Yelp
Service sucks. They are rude food is just ok. Poor menu. Barely spoke English. We kept telling them fries he kept saying pie. It's like oh my gosh this is insane French fries. My wife finally had a point on the menu then he said. Like oh.

Yelp
Enjoyed Nepalese food here, awesome food selection in an area with limited variety. Recommended

Yelp
Yummy food, fast service - we definitely went for the Nepali specialties and it was fresh and very flavorful!

Yelp
We loved the Chicken Thali! The staff were so welcoming and we really enjoyed our dining experience. It was a bit pricey for what you get and it wasn't amazing but I think it is good for the area (we come from Houston so our standards for food is pretty high). Overall, I would recommend dining here and would come here again!
google avatar

Pranjali S.

Yelp
This is the only desi food option in Ashford and they only have like 4 options - samosa, chicken/veggie Thali, momos, Himalayan stew. They used to have more options in the past as per my friend, but I guess they have streamlined their menu now. We didn't have any of the non-desi food, so this review is not for that. The Thali was good, but it only comes with rice, dal and some veggies. There is no roti/naan option. The chicken curry was very good. I just wish the Thali had more options. The stew was good too but it was a little bland for me. The samosas were fine. The food isn't bad for sure, but it isn't the best out there. They definitely have the monopoly on desi food in the area. Service and ambiance are fine, nothing exceptional to write home about.

Yelp
We arrived late--7:30pm--on a Monday after hiking up to Carter Falls and back along the Wonderland Trail in the late afternoon, so we were tired and hungry; but we knew they'd be closing soon (8pm). We were seated right away and quickly determined we'd try the Nepali & Himalayan dishes: papadum as an appetizer to share four ways, chicken thali (ordered by 2 of us), and Himalayan stew with sides of basmati rice (ordered by the other 2). We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes, which were shared among the 4 of us. They were piping hot, just a little spicy, and very filling. After slowing down, and wanting to leave room for the legendary Marion blackberry pie, we got the last of our leftovers to go. Then we devoured a piece of the phenomenal pie with a heavenly flaky crust and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We enjoyed a display about the owner's climbs of many of the world's tall peaks, including Everest (Guinness World Record for fastest climb), Denali, Mt. Rainier (95 ascents), and others. I would describe the ambiance as busy and bustling--we did not expect a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The focus seemed to be on delivering food to their many guests as quickly as possible. And at that they are quite successful!

Hanna H.

Yelp
Amazing local restaurant, delicious food! The owner has had incredible accomplishments and his climbing gear is displayed in store! It's so cool!! Family run. Absolute must visit in ashford

Yelp
Delicious curry chicken, rice, soup, and vegetables in a lovely patio setting. Family-owned. Authentic Nepalese food. Everything was hot, fresh, real foods. Whole ingredients. Healthy. Fast service.

Yelp
After a long day at Mt Rainier, we found this Indian restaurant just outside and were excited to have some comfort food. Unfortunately, the food was really mediocre. Outdoor seating was really nice. Service was alright.

Yelp
A charming little place. Great service from the waiter. We got the Sherpa stew and the pork momo. A bit pricey for what it was but no real complaints.

Yelp
I've eaten at Wildberry probably six times, a factor of living close to the restaurant. They're only open during the summer and summer adjacent months (May-October) and have an assortment of both Nepalese and American foods available. I've frequently ordered their Thali, an assortment of Nepalese menu items centered around your main dish choice (chicken, mushroom, or lentils) and rice. Every time I get the Thali, I wish I liked it better - it's served on a tray with a variety of items so it's novel and fun, but there's nothing special about the taste and I'm surprised at how much they charge for it. I'm ashamed to admit but I find their burger the best item on the menu. For appetizers I often opt for the Samosas (which I like better than the Pappadum), and the Momos are good as well. Inside you'll find a bar, some seating, and a cool display of the owner's mountain climbing gear while outside they set up a large tent with more tables. It's a casual spot with a majority of their clientele either going to, or coming from the park. There is often a wait around dinner time on the weekends with people coming down from the mountain looking for a meal - particularly in peak summer.

Yelp
Neema was so sweet and kind. Great service both times we went and the food was amazing! Thank you again!

Yelp
We had no idea what to expect as the menu looked like it was a catchall for all the foods (they offer burgers, fish and chips but also Nepalese food) to satisfy those passing through Ashford... We were pleasantly surprised! I'll admit I was bummed there weren't any vegetarian momo's but there was plenty here for everyone to enjoy. For our first "real meal" after camping for two nights, this was an over-the-top treat for sure!! The patio was nice and open, totally welcoming large groups. Our party of 9 had plenty of space to grub here and the owner really made us feel like we were guests in his home. Super sweet & friendly man! Here's what we ordered: Fish & Chips: pretty standard but the battered fries are actually the star here. We ordered extra fries after trying these! Sherpa Stew: 4 people in our group ordered this. There were no leftovers. Needless to say this is a must try! Samosa (vegan/vegetarian): Super flavorful and fried to perfection. Served with house-made tomato chutney which we ended up asking for more so we could eat with everything else we ordered. Yes, the fries were dipped in this as well! Mushroom Thali (vegan/vegetarian): My cousin ordered this one and found the chunky mushrooms a bit offputting. She was expecting pre-sauteed and slightly cooked down mushrooms vs the chunky and less cooked style. She polished off the lentil soup though. If you're into chunky, not-so-cooked down mushrooms, this is for you! Chickpea Thali(vegan/vegetarian): I ordered this. The chickpea stew/curry wasn't as flavorful as some I've tried but this could also be attributed to the difference of how Indian curry is made vs Nepalese stew. Still tasty and satisfying but I did wish it had more oomph. The lentil soup was super good tho! I didn't touch the pickles included more bc I personally don't like that tart flavor that is predominantly found in that kind of pickle (sorry I don't know what that flavor is called... it's very specific to Indian pickles tho). Not for me but the veg looked fresh and would be tasty for someone who enjoys that flavor. Chicken Thali: Forgot to get feedback on this one. There weren't any leftovers if that counts for anything! *note on the Thali: This didn't come with any breads (roti/naan/papadum) so the rice:curry/soup ratio was a bit overwhelming. Not a bad thing, just something to note. Burger: Standard. Probably would advise ordering something more special if you're adventurous. If not, this burger will not disappoint! Papadum x 2: flavorful & crispy. Since I'm from Fremont, CA (blessed with an abundance of Indian restaurants) this is a familiar side dish. We broke these chips and enjoyed them with everything we ordered also, and it comes with that tomato chutney too! Mango Lassi: Cousin ordered this and got super full off its decadence. A must try! Marionberry pie (vegan): I was ready not to indulge in dessert since most restaurants typically do not offer anything vegan-friendly (and I'm ok with that). To my surprise, this pie was actually vegan since the restaurant uses vegetable shortening to make their pie crust. We ordered a whole pie which was more than enough for our group. The kitchen cut the pie into 8 even slices for our table. Since we had 9 in our group, the owner came back with a butter knife so we could make extra slices. He insisted on cutting the pie for us. The entire exchange was really funny as it reminded me of being at a relatives' house for dinner, and they're wanting to be a good host and not letting you lift a finger. I absolutely enjoyed our meal here. The service was fantastic although the owner's speech was a bit difficult to understand so be ready to have your listening ears on. The portions were generous and the pricing reasonable. If we ever find our way back to Ashford, we'll be sure to come back here for another meal.

Yelp
Our meal was a welcome treat after a full day of hiking in the park. We tried several of the Himalayan meals including the Sherpa stew, chicken thali, and pork momo. All of them were delicious! The service was quick and courteous and we enjoyed reading all the history of the owners amazing climbing feats!

Yelp
Great service, food and very near the Nisqually Entrance of Mt Rainier NP. We enjoyed trying new dishes. My husband especially loved the blackberry pie!

Yelp
Food service came out fast and was delish! If you're in the area and hungry--this is the place to go! There aren't many food options outside Rainier and our housing was a four minute walk. Initially, we were pretty sad to not see lots of food places besides American cuisine. This spot has both. For those feeling grilled cheese, fries, burgers--they have on one side and on the other they have a Himalayan menu. We got the pork momo, stew, and chicken thali...and their homemade Marionberry pie with ice cream! The momo came with a cold tomato like dip and it tastes like East Asian pork dumplings with a curry twist. The stew was full of vegetables like carrots green beans celery and potatoes plus beef--it has a unique flavor--that tastes hearty and distinct. The chicken thali tasted more authentic to Indian food with basmati rice, aachar, and ofc red onion. We asked for more sauce and more red onion and together with the chicken it was amazing! You need the combo :) there is indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of seating. We were seated quickly and lots of Himalayan decor.

Yelp
Wildberry is the only restaurant in Ashford that is reliable, has variety in their menu, and has good food. We stopped here on the way to Mount Rainier, and got the chicken thalis as well as the wildberry pie. We were surprised to see Nepali food out there, and even a little skeptical as to how the food would taste, but were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the meal after a long day. Although it wasn't the best Nepali food we had, it was way beyond my expectations! The pie itself is the reason I'd give 5 stars :-) They gave us a big slice, full of berry, super flaky, and served with ice cream. It was simply the best. Enough said. Definitely give this a try. After a long day of driving or hiking, it is exactly what you need!

Yelp
A True Gem of Authenticity and Delight! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wildberry Restaurant, nestled just before the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park, and I must say it was an absolute delight. This charming eatery proved to be a true gem, offering a delightful blend of authentic Nepalese cultural foods and mouthwatering American favorites. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambiance instantly made me feel at home. The restaurant's decor beautifully reflected the rich Nepalese heritage, creating an immersive cultural experience that truly enhanced the dining journey. The menu at Wildberry Restaurant is a culinary adventure in itself. The authentic Nepalese dishes are prepared with great care and attention to detail, showcasing the flavors and spices that make this cuisine so special. Each bite was an explosion of tantalizing flavors, transporting me to the heart of Nepal. The dishes we tried were the Sherpa Stew and the Chicken Thali. For Desert we selected the homemade Marion Berry Pie A La mode. THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The selection of local brewed bears are a delight as well. Not to be outdone, the American favorites on the menu were equally impressive. Whether it was a perfectly grilled burger or a classic Caesar salad, every dish was executed with finesse, ensuring that even the most discerning palates would be satisfied. The menu truly caters to all tastes, making it a fantastic choice for groups with diverse preferences. What truly sets Wildberry Restaurant apart is the exceptional service provided by the friendly and attentive staff. The waitstaff exuded genuine warmth and hospitality, making my dining experience even more memorable. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences further showcased the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the location of Wildberry Restaurant is unbeatable. Being situated just before the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park allows for a perfect pre or post-adventure meal. Whether you're fueling up before an exciting day of exploration or winding down after an exhilarating hike, this restaurant is a convenient and rewarding stop. Overall, I cannot recommend Wildberry Restaurant highly enough. It is a true gem that seamlessly blends authentic Nepalese cultural foods with American favorites. The culinary experience, combined with the warm ambiance and exceptional service, creates a memorable dining experience that will leave you wanting to return time and time again. If you're in the area, don't miss the opportunity to savor the flavors and hospitality that Wildberry Restaurant has to offer!

Yelp
One of the best places to dine in the area! My review is a bit late, as I went to Mt. Rainer last October, and the place closed down during the winter. So, I waited until they are open again to finish my review. My bf and I came here after a long rainy, windy, hiking day at Mt. Rainier. We yelped for a place for dinner (not much choice really) and went to Wildberry. I also recently went to Nepal (well, the end of 2019), so I was pleasantly surprised to see a Nepalese restaurant in the middle of Mt. Rainier, I might, it is random but at the same time, not really random. The staff are so nice and the food is so delicious! It brought back so much fond memories as I was eating my food. I also learned that the owner used to be a guide for hikers in Nepal, at Mt Everest, and he moved here and became a guide at Mt. Rainier. Inside the restaurant he kept and displayed all of his mountaineering gears, it is so cool! I highly recommend this place, not only will you get a wonderful authentic Nepalese meal, but you can also learn more about mountaineering!

Yelp
Super friendly and fast service! Fun fact, the owner of the restaurant has summitted Mount Everest 15 times and holds the record for fastest summit! We tried the momo, fish and chips, burger, and marionberry pie. Everything was absolutely delicious and so perfect after a long day of hiking!

Yelp
TL;DR: authentic Tibetan food, unexpected around a National park! Delicious, family-run restaurant! Also, the owner has the world record for fastest time to summit Mt Everest (highest in the world)!!! AMBIANCE: We walked in after a long day of hiking and totally hungry. The restaurant immediately gives a family-feel kind of vibe, where the family members are serving orders and taking care of the front of house assigning tables between running food. I was immediately drawn to the back corner of the restaurant, where there was a display with hiking gear, showcasing the owner's Guinness world record for summiting Mt. Everest in just under 11 hours! Insane! And... he even took our order! He's also summited Mt Rainier 95 times. It was almost like a museum there and it was very interesting to see. SERVICE: The service is attentive and friendly, giving a family vibe! FOOD: As someone who loves food and usually has to set her expectations pretty low for any sort of decent meal in a National park, I was impressed by the variety of dishes in such a remote location! Thinking back on it, the most memorable part was seeing the owner's travels. But I loved being able to have some comforting curry after a long day of hiking! It definitely hit the spot. They also have burgers and non-Asian dishes, but I really appreciated that I could get something to eat at a National park that was a little different!

Yelp
A MUST when visiting Mt. Rainer--your trip to the mountain isn't complete until you've ended your day with dinner here. A local family-owned business with delicious food with fast service. Vegan options available. TIP! You have to get a slice of the huckleberry pie (also vegan.) Yum!

Yelp
This is a family-run business owned by a former Mt. Everest Sherpa. The menu includes many Himalayan dishes and some American fare. The food was tasty and the service was good.

Yelp
So busy but we were able to eat at the bar. The Daal soup was the best I'd ever had. So delicious! The Himalayan Thali was so very satisfying after a day of hiking. It hit the spot! The vegan berry pie should always be ordered! Tasty! So well prepared. Great service!
