One of the best vegan restaurants we've ever been too! Everything was amazing and so so delicious. We got one of each thing from the bakery as well and it was incredible! We'd definitely visit again if we're ever in town!

Wholesome locally sourced wonderful meals. Place is definitely kids friendly although changing station could be provided. Staff was sweet & attentive they didnt mind our daughter toddlering around 🫠 Thank you for serving compassionate food!

Google
Wildflower may be the best restaurant in Arcata! The vegan desserts are to die for! They have new specials everyday and some staples that will have you coming back again and again! Biscuits and Gravy-10/10! Nut burger-10/10. Brie and blueberry pancakes-10/10! Seriously, everything on their menu is outstanding! Owners work there and are the most gracious hosts!

Google
Wonderful vegan/vegetarian food. We ordered the vegan reuben, guac and chips and the dragon bowl. It was amazing, tasty and clearly made with love! They were out of a few items but we didn't mind that. On a side note, our server was super helpful. He offered recommendations on camping and grocery stores and they both turned out great as well.

Google
Let’s say you only have one day in Arcata. You better be going to Wildflower! No matter your dietary preferences, Wildflower has you covered. The menu nearly overwhelmed me because everything is vegetarian/vegan! Staff are friendly and accommodating, and are happy to honor any requests. Specials are always rotating and always delicious. Can’t decide what to try? Our favourites are the Reuben, Super Nachos, and the French Toast!

Google
This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants I’ve been to! Situated in the small town of Arcata it’s right on a busy corner. The food was heavenly! Tried both the Sunrise Immunity Boost Shake and the Carrot Shake. The ingredients were extremely fresh! You do get what you pay for. The Portabella burger was absolutely drool worthy. So flavorful! The Happy Waitress sandwich is vegetarian and very filling. Would highly recommend to all vegans and vegetarians alike! A definite stop if you’re driving through the California coast! Our waitress was helpful and even offered a complimentary sample of their soup of the day while offering!

We preselected to eat here on our honeymoon based on the menu. IT WAS SO GOOD. Service was excellent. Casual laid back comfortable colorful atmosphere. Artwork was delightful. We enjoyed our food so thoroughly. I have some dietary restrictions that were easy to have accommodated without changing the dishes.

Google
I came in with a local friend of mine on a Saturday evening. The place is charming and nice. We ordered the cheese and bread plate and it was awesome with fresh bread, roasted garlic and olive oil, olive tapenade, apple slices, and Brie cheese. I had the mushroom polenta, and wow, it was so good! My friend had the squash tacos that came with a green salad and he devoured it. The server was friendly and attentive. All-in-all, this was a great meal and experience. I would eat here again the next time I'm in town without a thought!

Yelp
Hands down the best lunch and breakfast spot in Humboldt County. Anytime I want to treat myself I go here. I've lived here for eleven years now, and have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered from here. I recommend the breakfast burrito, and the nut burger. I am not a vegetarian and still prefer this to any of the omnivorous spots in town.

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise. My friends and I wound up here after the restaurant we planned on was swamped. Everything we had was delicious. I am a meat eater so I never thought of this place but I did not miss the meat at all. The veggies were perfectly cooked. The sauce was yummy. The dragon green tea latte was heaven.

Yelp
My only regret about my visit to Arcata is not having time for more meals at the Wildflower Cafe - this menu was SO up my alley and I wanted to try everything. The two meals we did enjoy were delicious; the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was pleasant. Will use this as an inspiration for fun things to cook at home!

Yelp
Capping off annual vacay in Patrick's Point with dinner here. Despite staffing miscommunication resulting in the place having to close, Sue graciously cooked two meals for us without a second thought. THIS is why we keep returning every yearHad the beet Alfredo; wife had the Pad Thai. Both absolutely delish! Thank you, Sue! YOU ARE THE BEST! See y'all next year

Yelp
Incredible veggie spot for breakfast, what a find! We shared the açaí bowl and potato hash with gravy and veggies. Also unlimited coffee and wonderful service. A treat on the road!!

Yelp
This place is always closed and I saw some dude that worked there yell at a lady about a salad order. She just walked out. Most of the menu has been the same for 20 years.

Yelp
Such a delight! Put this place #1 on the list! Jay was so kind, helping me pick between the menu on what to order, giving great recommendations! I went in boarder-line breakfast/ lunch so i decided to get a chia tea latte w/ almond milk- mmmmmhh SO GOOD! At first I was apprehensive to order the southwest Asian bowl, then it came out and I'm so glad I made that choice! I honestly have never had something like it for breakfast before and it was absolutely mind blowing with flavor! I picked Jay's brain on different places to go around the town since Im just visiting for work and he was a wealth of knowledge for recommendations! I appreciated the friendly exchange and my time there. I typically travel, dine and experience everything solo so it was really nice to feel like I had company even though I was the only customer in there at that time. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Every single time, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food always seems delicious. The last time we went I was impressed with the burger but not so much the salad. The atmosphere is calming due to the small size of the restaurant. I highly appreciate the light fixtures it adds to the ambience of the restaurant. What a truly appreciate is that they brought back dinners on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 6:30 PM prior they were only serving during lunch. Now they are offering sit down dinner, but usually during lunch, they offered pay-as-you-go, where you order food and sit at your own table. The nice thing about pay-as-you-go is that you're able to grab any of your to go boxes, utensils, water, and sauces on the cart otherwise during dinner, you can get that I'll hand it to you by a waiter. During dinner they do have an extensive menu wilhich includes a wide variety of mimosas such as coconut mango :-9 and kambucha blue blossom mimosa. Next time I plan to order different dishes for a varied review.

Yelp
I hope this message reaches the owner. I love your food and have been a customer for almost 11 years. This morning I had the worst experience trying to place an order over the phone. I have an event all day on Wednesday, with out of town coworkers and CPH campus students and faculty, and I wanted to have Wildflower to offer them for lunch. I asked to place the order over the phone and pay this afternoon in person or place the order and pay today in person. The lady on the phone said that it wasn't possible to place a lunch order for 11 meals before Wednesday because you couldn't guarantee ingredients available for then... she threw "catering" and when i asked about it she said "yeah that's what I'm saying" while going over the ingredient uncertainty problem. She asked me "can't you just call on Wednesday to place the order" i can't because my event starts at 8 am. When I suggested if we could set an alarm to pretend i place my order on Wednesday she laughed at me and she said she had a line of customers and she could call me back if I wanted to "chat" about it. I am very disappointed for the treatment and because we won't have wildflower sandwiches on Wednesday:(

Yelp
Had a couple of good meals here. Really liked that the menu choices were unusual and mostly relatively healthy. My favorite of the three entrees I tried was the nut burger. Admittedly a bit hard to eat (messy), but in a way that was part of the enjoyment, too! It's quite soft and moist, and while obviously nothing like a meat burger, still very satisfying and delicious. I added avocado and grilled mushrooms, along with some of the available condiments (especially the house hot sauce - delish!). I also really liked the Wicked Thai Peanut Stir-Fry (with brown rice instead of Soba noodles). I'm a sucker for good peanut sauce, and the blend of the sauce, veggies, and brown rice was so appealing. The third entree I tried was the Falafel Wrap. The wrap was big, thick, and filled with veggie goodness, and quite tasty. The taste of the Falafel pretty much was swallowed up by all the other ingredients, so I can't even say I tasted it. But I saw the falafal, so I know they were there. Service was very friendly, and relatively quick (took about 15 minutes to get our food, even during lunch rush).

Yelp
Wonderful place to stop on your way up to Oregon. Friendly place with lots of wonderful vegan, gluten-free or vegetarian options .. wow! And the price is right. I live in Southern California, where the restaurant prices are through the roof. It was nice to be in a small town where you can get affordable home cooked, gluten-free meals. I would definitely make this a stop if you are heading up north. 10 1/2 stars for me. ;) I ordered eggs and lentil hash... so good!!! Yum!! The lemon poppyseed GF cookie was good but could be better..
google avatar

Yelp
A true Arcata treasure! Huge portions for the price, and the food is so dang pretty - it's so bright and colorful that you can't wait to dig in. And it tasted great!

Maya C.

Yelp
Creative whole organic beautifully composed delicious food. My favorite place to eat hands down. Nourishing
google avatar

Gaby I.

Yelp
Vegan food, huge portions, low quality food. Acai bowl is soupy, you can fish for granola -literally one needs to try to find granola lol. Matcha comes in huge mug but lacks the good matcha taste.
google avatar

Kiran D.

Yelp
Coffee was great, food was good but not worth the price, and pastry was bland. Service was excellent and it's in a very convenient location. Overall had a good time, just wish I didn't pay as much as I did.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch recently, walk up counter service. Theres a small counter to sit and a handful of tables and chairs. Been in the location for years now, quiet and unassuming from the outside. The young man running the register was friendly and professional. Order, pay and grab yourself a seat. Silverware, napkins and condiments are on the table center room opposite wall from the counter. Your food will be brought out to you, it was maybe ten minutes? I ordered the Fiesta Bowl with avocado and a cold ginger brew in the bottle. This is a great lunch, a filling and full flavored meal that hit the mark on all levels for me. Being vegetarian leaning the bowl was a great combination of crunchy, tangy, spicy, sweet, salty, savory in one meal with a nice balance of protein and carbs. Loaded with brown rice, blue corn chips, beans, corn, tomatoes, green onions, pickled jalapenos, black olives, leafy greens, crema and I added some avocado. It was delicious. If you are looking for a good vegetarian and vegan meal, this is a must stop. 4.5 Stars - rounded up for the great bowl 00837

Yelp
I LOVE this place!! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and the climate is relaxed. I have taken their baked goods to work when it was my turn to provide the morning treats and my coworkers RAVE about the scones. Wildflower also makes the best reuben sandwich ever surpassing my old favorite from the Carnegie Deli in NYC. And...it is VEGAN!! Treat yourself to a memorable meal in Arcata, CA and stop by here for lunch!!
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
We loved the food, juice and pastries at this place. Very friendly service and good vibes. Our only stink is that the Rueben doesn't taste at all like a Reuben. Great sandwich as a standalone tho.
google avatar

Cara R.

Yelp
Delicious food, cute space, employees were a little rude at first but got better (I'm not a morning person either). Would definitely come back though. I decided to get their cornbread breakfast and it was delicious! Lots of flavor and huge portion plus they've got a bunch of hot sauces to accompany it since I like a bit of spice. Also had a matcha, which was delicious as well. Everything came out super quickly too. It's not a huge space so might need to be prepared to wait a bit for a table or take it to go.
google avatar

Jill R.

Yelp
We loved our experience here. I'm gluten and dairy free and it was so nice to be able to eat delicious food in Arcata!

Julie S.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Would definitely return. The vegan pastry was especially delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to the weekend evening service. Wholesome dinner foods and kombucha on tap. Delicious
google avatar

Amelia W.

Yelp
Great find! The Ruben sandwich was incredible. My friend really like the mushroom soup and the bean burrito
google avatar

Sam Z.

Yelp
I enjoyed my vegan pancake, it was just what I wanted, and very filling. The golden milk was a little sweeter than I expected, but still good. My partner had the cornbread thing, and felt it needed a little more spice, but otherwise enjoyed it. Portions were large. Service and ambiance were minimal late morning on a weekday, it was quiet and we had the place basically all to ourselves.
google avatar

Jack H.

Yelp
Always fresh and tasty. Cant go wrong here, This is food that warms your soul and makes you feel good!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I had what appeared to be hair in my food and the server who has been working for "16 years" Told me it was normal and threw out the pancake before I could take a photo or offer me a solution. She also ran off in the middle of me talking to take another customer who just got in his coffee. So rude and unprofessional and when I asked her why she threw it away before a solution. She said "don't talk to me like that". I ate here yesterday and had great service/food so we came all the way back from Eureka to have breakfast but she ruined my experience. That's why I gave 2 starts bc yesterday was a better experience.
google avatar

Margo S.

Yelp
This was so yummy!! The coffee was great as well as the Golden Milk. I had the Açaí Bowl and it was perfect! My husband had the breakfast sandwich and absolutely loved it. So happy to find such a yummy place to eat.

Lily B.

Yelp
While I was on a trip up the coast of California, I kept coming back to this cafe. This was the best restaurant on my trip. Better than anything I had in LA or Carmel-By-The-Sea. I highly recommend the vegan biscuits with almond gravy. If you are here on a weekend, they have special dinners that are curated by the chefs. The staff is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Even if you aren't a vegetarian or vegan, you'll enjoy the food here.

Yelp
This is a lovely little cafe, when I stopped by I got a green machine juice and vegan French toast. The juice was tart, slightly sweet and it was freshly made! The French toast had plenty of cinnamon just the way I like it. It was soo good I love the nuts on it, it adds good flavor + crunch. I got my food to go and it was very quick to be prepared. The cashier was kind, I asked where a good spot to eat outside was because I am visiting town. They recommended the lovely park at the end of 14th St, if you get your food to go I recommend eating it here. Eating their vegan French toast surrounded by redwood forest is my new religion.

Randy M.

Yelp
It's been awhile and I thought I must stop in @ see faces? Good food great ambiance!!!

Yelp
Back for the 2nd time in 4 days. Everything was delicious and filling. Tasty and vegan.

Yelp
Very great service and huge amazing french toast! Would definitely come back again, stopped on way traveling down PCH.

Yelp
I absolutely love it here!! So many options!! Sweet and savory. Organic and healthy. Yummy. Just amazing always!!

Yelp
Fantastic classic vegan and vegetarian food, with local seasonal menu items. We enjoyed the tagine, the falafel burger and the latkes recently for a weekend dinner, and every bite was delicious! Also the desserts... always great-the raspberry brownies, thumbprint cookies--The vibe is casual and cosy, and the staff are very friendly. They are open for Breakfast and lunch, and dinner on Fri/Sat nights I think (check first).

Yelp
I'd give 10 stars if I could. I loved everything about this darling restaurant. In addition to the fabulous menu - and I am vegan, so fabulous vegan food anywhere near Eureka is not easy to find - the decor and atmosphere is so inviting and enjoyable. From the colors of the walls, to the artwork - to the beautiful chalk drawing - right down to the Fiestaware - every detail is attended to. There is a vase of wildflowers on every table. And the staff is so friendly - it is a wonderful place to dine. We had the Tempah Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich (a TLT) and mock tuna wrap - the drinks are also outstanding. We will be back. I don't have pictures of the food because this is not a place to whip out your phone. We just didn't think of it. It was gorgeous food, that's all I can say.

Yelp
Peanut Stir Fry Noodles: good spice level and fresh broccoli, the soba noodles were pretty mushy and the tempeh was really dry. Would have been better with fried tofu Sandwich and potato dish: both were really solid and the fresh veggies were great The food is fresh and the cafe is cute! I'd come again but order something other than the peanut noodles.

Nancy N.

Yelp
Very good tastey veg food and great baked goods service is good friendly very simple Ambiance but pleasant

Yelp
Oh how I love Wildflower. This place is an Arcata institution. Been coming here for decades. Delicious and nutritious vegetarian food. My favorite for breakfast is the wildflower potatoes. For lunch I often get the Thai peanut noodles. Their tofu tahini sauce awesome and you can find it in local stores as well.

Nicole S.

Yelp
We 1000% recommend this adorable restaurant. I ordered the Humboldt hash which was loaded with so much flavor, healthy & colorful and my boyfriend ordered the omelet. The eggs were so fluffy and the toast was delicious. We each ordered a fresh juice and a coffee and latte. I highly recommend all of it!! The best part was Sarafina. She was so inviting and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave great recommendations on the food as well as hikes and places to go on our trip. She is exactly bow customer service should be Her energy was amazing and it was a wonderful way to start our day!! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Love the Ruben, the baked goods, the smoothies, the vegan French toast and the people. Thank you, Wildflower for existing!

Yelp
This vegetarian restaurant is very good with tasty food. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the delicious food here. This restaurant was so good that we had to eat here twice in a three day period. My favorite is the Portabella Burger ($11.50). This has a giant juicy cooked to perfection portabella mushroom in a hamburger bun with lettuce, tomato, etc. It also includes a side (salad with delicious dressing, or the side-of-the-day). Don't forget to add the grilled onions (50 cents additional)! Delicious. The Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie ($7.55) is made with vegan vanilla yogurt (so my lactose intolerant son could enjoy it) and strawberries and bananas. Tasty and dairy free. There are so many great items on their menu. Next time I'm in the area, I will try something other than the Portabella Burger (but it was soooooo good). My wife and son enjoyed the items they chose, but did I tell you about the Portabella...... (Only inside seating...)
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
The raspberry thumbprint cookie was SO delicious. The T.L.T was also really good and the bread was soft. I got a matcha latte and accidentally ordered it hot, the staff was super nice and made it iced for me without any questions. Staff is very nice. The store is very cute and I loved the decor. Would absolutely come back.

Yelp
We were looking for an easy place to get some vegetarian fare and were really excited to find Wildflower Cafe & Bakery. Whatever your food restriction, they can accommodate you. They probably cater to the university set, so were very quiet when we visited in June. Even on a Sunday afternoon, we were able to get in and order without any problem. While they don't have much of a kid's menu, there were a bunch of options that were kid-friendly; mine loved the waffles. I'm a sucker for a portabella burger, and This one was AMAZING! I'd go back again and again just for that.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute place, super helpful workers! DRAGONBOWL: the dragon bowl comes with "A bed of raw spinach topped with soba noodles, grilled veggies, and a ginger-lime sauce. Topped with green onions, gomasio and cilantro" (taken directly from their menu) and I decided to add some additional protein in the form of tofu! I loved the way this looked - super green, lots of different textures, really saucy and flavorful. The dish itself after eating it was a bit too salty to my liking and had a lot of similar textures. I wish there was a crunch (ooh imagine if the tofu was baked until crisp or something). If I'm in the area again I'd definitely like to try something else on their menu! I really appreciate that it was all vegetarian food ^_^

Yelp
Now if I was a Humboldt State Lumberjack, I'd probably be here all the time for all my non-dorm meals. It's the kind of earthy place I probably should have patronized as a Cal Bear instead of all the pizza and burgers I devoured in my youth in Berkeley. I came here when it popped up as a highly rated vegetarian-friendly option near the Holiday Inn Express I was staying at in nearby McKinleyville. It was certainly popular with the locals, so I was lucky to snag a small table. After a morning spent ambling around the Trees of Mystery and traipsing around Wedding Rock at Patrick's Point in the fog - I was feeling famished since I skipped the make-it-your-damn-self waffle back at the hotel. In a healthy yet hefty mood, I first ordered the $9.50 Hummus Platter which was quite a plateful of goodness with the freshly mashed hummus in one bowl, a creamy olive tapenade in a ramekin, quite a few soft pita wedges, and a bounty of raw crunchy veggies (photo: http://bit.ly/2mSxpSL). No complaints there, and it could have fed two starving undergrads easily. But I wasn't finished as I ordered the $8 Steamed Veggies & Brown Rice served with Tofu Tahini in a ramekin (photo: http://bit.ly/2mSuCsN). The mix of cauliflower, broccoli florets, carrots, green beans, and red cabbage probably made it somewhat indistinguishable from the first plate except it was warm and satisfying. Yep, I could have been a painfully shy student here back in the days after the Gold Rush. Go Lumberjacks! FOOD - 4 stars...healthy plainspoken dishes well turned AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars..somewhere between hippie and hipster which reflects Arcata as a whole SERVICE - 4 stars...low-key and attentive TOTAL - 4 stars...eat plenty while getting good vibes here RELATED - Taking an adventure in this part of Northern California? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2A1YVjy

Yelp
This is a great grocery store. As a tourist to the Arcata - Humboldt Bay Area, I have quickly fallen for this place. Something about a small university town like Arcata where you have professors and students sacrificing to better themselves really brings a great sense of community together. The people and the vibe are great, all the food we have had in town has been fresh and high quality. Definitely making this an annual trip.
google avatar

Keira L.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Tempe tacos!! I initially thought two tacos would not be enough for me, but I was very satisfied. My tacos came with blue tortilla chips and salsa, also delicious! Best part was the melted cheese on the bottom

Denise B.

Yelp
We stopped back in on our road trip and we are happy we did. The food is out of this world. The tuna wrap did not disappoint and we tried some new things like the fettuccine and the pancakes. Both were so good! I think I'd get the pancakes next time along with the tuna wrap. The pancakes are the best vegan pancakes I've ever had! The fettuccine was also delicious. It was a large portion and the sauce is very tasty. We will be back!I forgot to add that if you like peanut butter, get their peanut butter pie for dessert! We got it both times and oh my gosh it's delicious.

Yelp
we were on a family vacation with our three kids seven and under, and we discovered this lovely gem. We loved it so much, we had two meals there as well as taking some extra treats home with us.
