"If your biggest grievance with most glamping vacations is the lack of proximity to world-class wineries, Wildhaven Sonoma certainly solves that problem. Nested in the Russian River Valley, it’s the ideal spot to laze in a hammock, cozy up by the campfire, stargaze, and sleep like a log on a memory foam mattress. Need to stock up on sustenance? The on-site shop sells s'more kits and local vino." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Our stay at Wildhaven Sonoma was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the comfort and beauty of the property. The tents were spacious, well-appointed, and incredibly cozy—giving us the perfect balance of nature and luxury. A huge shoutout to Tom, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. I must have asked a thousand questions, and he answered every single one with patience and kindness. His knowledge and hospitality truly made our experience even better. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend Wildhaven Sonoma to anyone looking for a relaxing and unique escape.

Spent the weekend at Wildhaven for my husband’s birthday. It did not disappoint! Our whole stay was nothing but memorable! The tent accommodation with the bunk beds was spacious, clean well equipped and ready by the time we checked in. The no contact checkin was a breeze and made it quick for us to enjoy the place. Plus we got the early check in option too which was a great idea. The toilets and bath were clean and very useful because the bathrooms were heated too. They had a very clean prep area and dining place where we grilled and washed our dishes since they had a number of sinks available for everyone. Not to mention they had free coffee and hot cocoa for the guests. We had the time to enjoy the river by throwing pebbles and dipping our feet in the water. It was too cold to swim but would have been nice if it was summer time. I would definitely recommend this place for families, couples and friends who just want to have a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The quite hours was perfect for a relaxing rest to end a happy day. One for the books! Glad we gave this awesome place a shot!😁

Absolutely amazing!! My girlfriend and I booked a tent at Wildhaven to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Tom had reached out to us the day of checking in to inform us of a recent storm that had passed by the area leaving some debris around the campground, apologizing for the appearance and letting us know some of their staff would be cleaning up around us. To our surprise, the area and facilities were beautifully maintained and taken care of with no complaints on our end!! Checking in was super easy and we were able to park right behind our assigned tent, making it super easy to transport our bags and camping supplies. When we got into the room, we were left a parking pass that had “Happy 5th Anniversary!” written on it. The room was well kept and we were provided with clean sheets, clean towels, a fan, a heater, a clothing rack, a small mirror and new earplugs. The best part of the room was the heated mattress pad that kept us warm throughout sub 30 degree temps. On the patio, there was a table with two chairs that were easy to transport to the lawn area 10 ft away where we sat and roasted marshmallows and cooked dinner at the picnic table. If you didn’t bring your own camp stove, the community kitchen area has 3 propane stoves with plenty of tables along with a coffee and tea table. Well kept bathrooms and showers stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap were conveniently located behind our tent making it easy to access after dark. Fresh coffee and tea were provided in the morning at the camp store giving us a great boost to start our day filled with multiple hikes around Sonoma County. My only complaint was that the tents are located by a road so you could hear cars going by at night but it really didn’t bother us and if it happens to bother anyone, you can use the earplugs provided. At the end of the day, we had a amazing stay at Wildhaven, Sonoma and can see ourselves coming back. If you want an easy peaceful camping trip with plenty of accommodations, this is the place to be!! Thank you Wildhaven for making this anniversary memorable (:

Google
Location was easy to find. We stopped at the kiosk which was a smooth check in with Bethany who was very kind. The rooms were very clean. They had fans, reliable electricity, and heaters. I especially appreciated the heated mattress that was for each side of the bed. The firewood there was amazing. Great access to the river for sunset. A bit loud at night due to the road nearby but nothing we couldn’t sleep through. Coffee in the morning was good. Well stocked store on site with essentials

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Wildhaven Sonoma Glamping and only wished we booked our stay longer! We especially loved how warm and cozy our room was despite how cold it was outside. Everything was super clean including the bathrooms and community area. The staff were all so welcoming and attentive as well. Definitely a memorable experience and we can’t wait to come back again!!

Our friends introduced us to Wildhaven in the Summer of 2022. We had such a great time cooking and eating together, swimming and cruising up and down Russian River, hanging out by campfire, and going for walks, that we have come back each summer since. This was the first year we also stayed in the Autumn/Winter. The location is very easy to drive to, not so long and windy or tiring for the kiddos. It is also gated off with the check-in kiosk and store by the entry, so it feels welcoming and secure. The tents are great - we are a family of 4, so we go for the standard or premium tents with 2 Queen beds. There are also more temperature-controlled cabins, which are pricier, but a great option for the increasingly hot summer and freezing cold winter. The people who live on site and work at Wildhaven are awesome. Wildhaven is lucky to have them. I’ve been able to call in and ask questions of a real person always. Bonus they are great and fun to chat with. The site is dog-friendly (on leash). There’s coffee, tea & hot cocoa every morning at 8 am. I plugged in too many things in our tent and tripped the electricity the first night. We called the emergency line as it was past hours, and Bethany came to the tent and fixed it. Derek, on site manager, came each day and delivered our firewood for cooking, also made sure our bill was correct and generally open and helped us with all questions. There’s also a large grill and picnic area if you don’t want to cook by camp fire. It’s so nice to getaway and feel so welcome. So nice to turn off phones and walk on rocks and grass, look up through the trees and branches and see sky, stars, geese flying overhead, hear owls in the dark early morning, and a chorus of birds after sunrise. The beds have warmers - we slept in 33-34 degree night, warm and toasty in bed. We’ll return - and maybe try their Yosemite location.

Google
First time stay, and it was a great experience. The booking was for a riverside tent, and we had a nice space, the bed was warm and the cot was useful. The fire pit and hammock were nice to have. Everything was clean! The shared toilets and showers were really clean and accessible. Access to the river was convenient and the river is shallow with areas that reach 4-5 feet, the speed is quick and you can relax and let the river carry you. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks and we will visit again!

Yelp
Allison was very accommodating! Stephanie? She was to very accommodating! Very helpful Very informative Very friendly! Clean and kept Very peaceful Beautiful surrounding areas!

Yelp
we enjoyed our stay! contactless check in/out, clean common areas, friendly folks. i will say, i do think the price is quite steep for what is included. would be nice if some firewood/smores were included with the price of the stay. heated mattress made the stay very comfortable.

Yelp
Went here for our anniversary staycation and can't believe I haven't been here sooner. It's so close to san francisco but far away enough where you feel like you're somewhere completely different. We loved how close it was to downtown Healdsburg with wonderful restaurants and wine tasting. We stayed at their newer cabins and it's perfect for 2-3 adults if you get the futon or 2 adults and 2 kids. It has such a comfortable bed with a warming mattress so it kept us warm during the winter. There is also AC during the hot summer months. They also have a small table and plugs and WiFi. So basically everything you need despite being out in nature. We were close to the bathrooms and the showers had running hot water. There was also a common area with picnic tables and bbq grill so you can definitely do a bbq. Each tent/cabin had their own firepit and hammock and picnic table so you can still have your own private campfire. Everything is clean even out in nature. There's parking dedicated for each tent/cabin but also plenty of guest parking too. They even have a shop where you can buy snacks and goods in case you forgot but downtown is also so close. Overall had a wonderful experience and would definitely love to come back! Maybe to their Yosemite location

Yelp
Beautiful place to stay. Very dog friendly, lots of areas to walk along the river. Cabins are nice and very clean and cozy. Nice little store with Coffee and tea in the morning. The staff is very accommodating. Best staff member is Debbie! Friendly and made me feel at home. Debbie is a sweetheart. The bathrooms were clean. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers. We were happy to find bath towels in our cabin! Wonderful place to stay!

Yelp
My friend and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Sonoma County to glamp and I'm so glad that we did! We booked ourselves a 1 night stay through their website. The process was super easy as you just need to choose whether or not you'd like a tent or a cabin. The pricing was also very reasonable. Despite it being cold and rainy outside, our tent was extremely warm and cozy thanks to the portable heater and heated blanket!! The tent also had towels, a mirror, trash bin and a clothing rack. We also thought the fairy lights were super cute! The campsite also has a shared communal kitchen, bathrooms and restrooms! Everything was super clean as well. The camp store also offers lots of wine, goodies, firewood, games and more. Our two favorite ice creams were the saffron pistachio and the plant-based mint chocolate chip (literally to die for). The staff at Wildhaven were all super friendly and welcoming. They did not hesitate to check in on us and they made us feel at home. Overall, this trip was definitely one for the books. I would definitely come back again and recommend to my friends and family!!

Yelp
Excellent experience! Glamping is the way to go! Facilities were clean which is a huge thing when you have little kids! Staff was exceptional! Very friendly, made us feel welcomed! The store is a good touch for last minute things! The quality of campers was fantastic!! Tents were clean and well maintained. Our fairy lights didn't work we were in tent 35 riverside two queens no big deal but would have been cool!!! Too cold to swim, BUT we did fish, we didn't catch anything. All in all this was a great experience and would highly recommend.

Yelp
Got a good night sleep. In the bed pictures Cozy tent. showers with hot water. Bathrooms far as the men's goes something to be desired Super tight. Not very user friendly. 10pm is QT. No Bluetooth speakers do bring headphones.

Yelp
I had a great time celebrating my birthday at Wildhaven. It was my first time glamping and I had a great experience! I did the spring fling deal that was offered online, so I paid for a 2-night stay in a premium tent for a Riverside tent. It came with a bottle of wine, a s'mores kit, and $25 credit to use at the store. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, and the tent itself was very nice and cozy. There is a fan and a heater provided. We were able to cook meals on the grill above the fire pit. A short walk away is the river, but beware of your surroundings on the way there because we came across a (harmless) little snake. The site is next to the highway so it can get noisy from the cars passing by, but we didn't mind. On one of the nights, there was a large group that was being noisy around 12am-1am, (quiet hours is after 10pm), I was able to text a noise complaint to the after hours number and they replied right away to investigate it. I believe there's at least two staff members who stay onsite. Overall I had a great experience here and wouldn't mind doing it again!

Evelyn E.

Yelp
Great glamping experience! The staff were friendly it was kept clean and organized. There's a bed heater and floor heater which was sooo nice for the cold weather. I spent one night here and can't wait to comeback and try the cabin with local activities. Even if you go just for the hike around the premises it's nice! 10/10 bathroom and shower areas were kept spotless. We went when there was just 4-5 people tho

Corey S.

Yelp
Great glamping spot on a river. They have both cabins and tents, pretty decent size, with one or two beds. There is a heater in the room and there are heating pads on the mattress. You have a deck as well as a table and fire pit below. Plenty of bathrooms, private showers and BBQs for cooking. Highly recommend

Rosie B.

Yelp
Instagram is definitely not reality. A glamping reel is what brought us in and while we initially had planned on staying 2-3 nights, we decided to try it out for a night and if we liked it we would try and extend our stay. It was a good call to book only one night. We were thrilled our tent was facing towards the trees and river as we could see all the other tents set up in what appeared to be a parking lot very close to each other. We thought we were really lucky to get the spot we did. Our tents were really hot when we arrived and it smelled of wet rag or wet dog. Some room freshener would go a long way. We thought, well hopefully it will cool down at night and the smell will go away. Thankfully, it did cool off but the smell lingered. We were curious as to why there were ear plugs next to our bed but when night came and it was time to sleep, we understood why there were earplugs. We were quite literally next to a bridge with extremely noisy traffic. It was impossible to get any sleep as the ear plugs were not enough to muffle the noise of heavy trucks and cars passing all night long. We were extremely miserable. We had hoped to get away and thought this was our opportunity to hear wind rustle through the leaves of the trees, the sound of birds and the sound of the river....but all we heard was traffic...loud traffic all night long till morning. We all woke up tired and miserable as were only able to catch a couple hours of sleep: Perhaps it would be better to stay in tents further away from the road...but we could still definitely hear the traffic even as we walked further away. Super disappointing. It definitely wasn't worth the price. For the price we paid, we could have checked into a nice comfortable hotel.

Yelp
This was such a fun weekend getaway. The staff were organized and had our tent and cabins ready earlier than expected. Bathrooms are shared and there's a nice grill and food prep/outdoor kitchen area where they supply soap, sponges and grilling tools. Bathrooms were shared/clean and showers were private. We got to stay in the tent one night and the cabin the next night so here is my comparison: Tent: Pros- true camping feel, it had electricity and a heater and fan. Also having a window right by the bed was great to have the breeze. Cons: Fairly hot since we were here on a Saturday in August, but just hang out in the shaded river areas and you'll be fine. Not a lot of furniture other than the bed- room if you wanna bring an outdoor chair. You can't really lock anything up- maybe bring a lock for your tent or keep items in the car if you're in and out like we were and wanting some extra security in a highly populated area. Cabin: Pros: Air-conditioned! It was lovely, also had a futon and cafe table and chairs inside. Insulated from temp and noise of course- this made a huge difference in the heat. Locking door with key code so no fumbling with keys. Cons: it's so comfy u might stay inside more than you intended!

Yelp
Best glamping experience I could have had! Friends and I got the riverside tents over the Fourth of July weekend and had the best time. Location is perfect as it felt like I was far away but it's only an hour drive from San Francisco and less than 10 mins from charming downtown Healdsburg. The tent was clean and really nice- from the usb outlets, to the lamps, to the comfy (heated) beds and rug. Really felt like luxury in a tent kind of way! Each tent came with a picnic table and campfire pit. My kids and friends kids really enjoyed the open space to ride their scooters and run around. The weather was perfect too! I was so happy with the amenities and can't wait to go back. (Also- pro tip: get a whole pie from Noble Pie in downtown Healdsburg and you will be happy the whole camping trip!)

Samantha F.

Yelp
Best girls trip ever! Perfect accommodations for those who aren't avid campers. We slept in warm, soft beds and had bathrooms and an outdoor kitchen steps away from our site. Can't wait to come back!

Monica S.

Yelp
First time "glamping," and I can say: I get it. Comfortable, warm, heated bed in a roomy "tent," group picnic areas, lots of space for kiddos to ride their bikes, clean bathrooms and showers, a kitchen sink for dishes, a well curated "mini market" of staples and treats, trails and rivers to explore, lots of nearby restaurants, and for the grown ups, ample wine tasting. This made for an easy, comfortable trip for our family and several others in our group. As much as we like old school camping, this spot made for a perfect balance of outdoor fun and indoor ease.

Devi B.

Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to visit Wildhaven Sonoma for a quick glamping experience. The location is conveniently close to the freeway, providing easy access to various amenities such as food and wine. Alternatively, one can choose to stay for a unique glamping adventure. The Sonoma area offers an incredible time with its wineries, and a highly recommended spot for a wine tour is the Jordan Vineyard, which is in close proximity to the glamping site. Healdsburg is also nearby, offering excellent restaurants and more wine experiences. As for the site itself, it is relatively compact, featuring some tents with a riverside view. There are a few steps to access the riverside, and a small hike to the water adds to the amazing experience. Definitely, a place to have fun and not to be missed!

Camila D.

Yelp
We came here two times . We came with our friends and it was a lovely experience . The kids enjoyed the river and we had barbecue , but since the tents are close to each other the others were complaining from the kids but we came to have fun so I would recommend to call in advance to pick tents next to your friends

Ashika M.

Yelp
Wildhaven itself was beautiful. Cozy tents and warm beds with heating individual heating pads, heater, fan, two lamps and decorative string lights. I felt like the best part was coming to a tent that was ready for you and all you really need to worry about is what you're going to eat. The staff were all really friendly. This location also has a mini store that sells ice, firewood, wine and more. Every morning the store offers complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The site is also located really close to vineyards, restaurants and Safeway which is really nice. The location is just beautiful. The river is majestic with fishes. Be sure to check out the river at sunrise and sunset. Here are some things I did wish I knew about prior to booking. You are closer to road than you are to the river. You can hear cars all the time. I tried using the ear plugs at night but they weren't comfortable after a few hours of using them. Where the camp ground is at you cannot see or hear the river. The camp grounds has quiet time, but you can still hear people talking and kids being kids during the 'quiet time'. Also, your neighbors are super close to you. I would say that this would be more of place for younger families. The weekend we stayed there were a lot of kids with their motorized bikes. There are three grills on the property for about 50 tents to use, I would recommend bringing your own grill. The bathrooms and showers were clean when they were tended too however after a few hours, the people staying wouldn't clean up after themselves; ie: toilet paper and covers on the ground, not flushing, sink with toothpaste spit all over it, shower stalls flooded - even with signs asking to keep the shower curtain closed, I think it's common sense to pick up after yourself. If you have a dog that sheds, bring your own bedsheets just incase. They charge a fee for dog hair. Overall, it's a beautiful spot. I do recommend this place for families with young kids. It might not be the most nature friendly spot though. You aren't getting that crispy nature morning smell, not too much to explore or hike. The river once again is beautiful and probably is the star of the show.

Yelp
We celebrated our 9 year anniversary with Wildhaven and we absolutely loved it! This review is long overdue because we came in September but hey, better late than never. We happened to come during the weekend of a really big bay area rainstorm which was unfortunate but we made the best of it. Love - We are huge fans of the fact that they are dog friendly! We brought our senior pup along with us and it was nice to glamp with him by our side. Tent - our tent was nice and clean and had all the amenities we needed. Omg and upon entering they even made us a happy Anniversary card which was the sweetest. We still have it to this day. Everything else was either a 10 minute drive or even just a walk to the Wildhaven store which was super convenient. Prior to arrival, I had also ordered the smores kit and firewood that we picked up. Water tube rentals - My husband and I decided to try this out so we rented. He was the only one to go into the water because it was way too cold for me and our pup, but it looked like he had a great time floating down that river. Bathrooms - There are bathrooms and showers on the camp site. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are for the most part. You can't avoid all the bugs when you're outside and among nature. The water was really cold when I had showered. Events - During our stay the first night, there was live music in their events tent and it was a really nice and intimate setting. We had the chance to see other friendly glampers. Food - Prior to the storm, we were able to cook everything via campfire which was super fun. We made steak and campfire bread, fire roasted veggies and smores which we paired with wine from the local winery. However once it got rainy, we moved to cooking on their onsite gas stoves which took awhile to work, but did the job. We gave up for lunch and decided to go out and grab a meal from Bravas. Overall, I highly recommend coming here! Hopefully on a weekend with nice weather but even in the rain my husband, pup, and I had such a great memorable experience.

Yelp
A Little Slice of Heaven in Alexander Valley! Glamping has been on our Wishlist for a few years. My husband had to be in California for family reasons, so we took advantage of this opportunity since we live in Boston. We booked a night at the last minute, just so we had a destination and it was a bed to drive to. Since this was our first time Glamping, we were not quite prepared for it to rain. We were so grateful that we chose one of the 2 brand new cabins - because we had heat! So we relaxed on the comfy teak chairs on the front porch for awhile. Then we snuggled up, turned on the heated mattress pad and enjoyed the luxurious bedding in our spotless cabin in the woods. Funny thing, I told my husband the day before that we did not have our own bathroom - you should have seen the look on his face. Happy to report that the bathrooms are very clean, and we both loved their shampoo so much we would love to buy some! Granted it is dark at night so bring a flashlight. It was refreshing to brush our teeth at the outdoor sinks. TIP: We should have gone into their adorable store BEFORE we drove to Healdsburg to bring back dinner. Their store is stocked with the essentials for Glamping - frozen upscale burritos (micro in store), gourmet ice cream & s'mores kits! Of course they have ice, wine and souvenirs & munchies too. The rain did not stop us from walking to the river, steps away. It must be awesome during the summer for swimming and tubing. Outdoor showers near the river entrance on the grass are a nice touch as well. Tons of fun for family and friends with cornhole and other games. Unfortunately we did not get to build a fire, but next time! Thank you to all the staff for making this a delightful experience.

Adrian S.

Yelp
The place was amazing. Bathrooms were clean. The property was well maintained a small convenience store complimentary coffee in the morning and the easy walk to the river. The yurts themselves were under trees, so it kept them cool during parts of the day. Something that I really enjoyed was that there was a heating pad on the mattresses in case it gets too cold at night on top of the space heater you made for a really cozy night

Joanna T.

Yelp
Wildhaven Sonoma is a remarkable place located only an hour and 20 min from Oakland. It is the perfect balance of outdoors and comfort. My family and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived although we read fabulous reviews on Yelp. Our tent cabin was in the middle row with two queen beds. The room was clean, had towels for the shower, a heater, and lights. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by one of the staff who went over the grounds, rules, and answered our questions. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with paper towels and toilet paper. The individual showers with hot water (yes, I said hot water!) was wonderful. Each site has a bbq pit but there is also a section with gas grills, picnic tables, and sinks with dish soap to wash your dishes. The camp ground also has a cute store where you can buy wine, ice cream, snacks, games, s'mores kits, and Wildhaven Sonoma clothing. They provide free coffee and hot chocolate in the morning which is a nice treat. The bonus is the river where you can rent inner tubes and enjoy going down stream. My family loved it! Be warned that if you go all the way down, it's a good walk back to the campsite. Definitely worth it, however. We did it twice! The owner is lovely and took the time to talk with us. In the early evening, a local artist performed under the events tent which was a nice treat and a great way to meet others. There is the sound of cars on the freeway at night but earplugs are provided and it's not that bad. If you're lucky, you will be there when it rains, like us. The rain sound was soothing and our tent cabins were built well to withstand the rain. We will definitely be back and are planning trip with extended family so they can also experience this fabulous place.

Yelp
What a remarkable, unique experience! My girlfriend, myself, and our pup came here on a quiet, chilly, Tuesday afternoon. Since it was a weekday, there was only a couple other families staying here which was nice. Our tent was very clean and comfortable. I like that the bed they provide was heated which was a nice touch. Even though it was quite cold outside at night, I felt like a toasted marshmallow laying in that bed. I slept like a log through the night. They also provide ear plugs, in case you are a light sleeper. I am a light sleeper and brought my own high-quality ear plugs and slept fine. The bathrooms have flushable toilets and clean showers with HOT water. Yes, hot water. Just wait a few minutes for it to turn hot, then you're good to go. They provide communal hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is more than one shower. Just in case the one in front is occupied, make sure you look behind the small shower house and there's a couple there. I almost missed them. Our favorite feature was the fire pit. We will be more prepared next time to make a fire (candle lighters) since it was tricky to get it started with matches. But, once it got going, it was warm and cozy. We brought our pup, and he enjoyed the short walk past the bridge that has a nice overlook of the river. We also enjoyed cooking our simple dinner over the fire pit and gas grill. We made hot dogs, chicken and veggie skewers. I recommend planning your meals ahead of time and packing accordingly. We didn't get to try the river tubing, but it's okay. We'll make sure to try it next time! Looks fun! Such a relaxing camping experience without the fuss. F*ck having to pitch a tent and possibly having a meltdown doing it. Lol. "Glamping" is the way to go.

Lily Elizabeth J.

Yelp
We had an amazing weekend at Wildhaven Sonoma. Our group had 12 families with a bunch of teenage kids. Everyone had a great time. The grown ups loved the fact that no one had to pitch tents. They loved the heated mattresses, the clean bathrooms and hot showers. The kitchen and event tent were really good options for our group to get together, chat or play cards. The BBQ grill and stove made cooking easy for the group. Kids and grown ups equally loved the river and tubing. The water wasn't cold and the river was shallow enough in most sections along the campsite that we didn't have to worry about the kids and could let them just have fun. Todd did an amazing job helping us with booking options. He managed to find tents for all of us in the same section so we could all be together. Derek, the camp site host helped our group manage quiet time expectations. The event tent was far enough from the tent that we could gather there as a group and not disturb the rest of the campers. The tubes for rent at the store was the right kind of fun of our group needed. Everyone at the store were extremely helpful Bethany did an amazing job coordinating with me on check in day to make sure we had everything ready for our group. The wine tasting event and live music Saturday evening added that extra bit of fun and grandeur. Thank you to the entire team.

Yelp
I am NOT into camping and I went during the hottest time this summer...I'm still alive and writing review... so say no more...Recommended! Site, restrooms, showers are very clean. The creek is a bit fungal...but what can they do...fight the nature and lose?

My girlfriend booked this place for her birthday and I must say it was a very amazing experience, despite the heat and flies, we enjoyed the peacefulness of this place. We stayed here at the peak of some crazy heatwave in California in June, so when we got there it was a whopping 100 something degrees so keep this in mind when booking. When it is hot outside, your tents will be hot inside as well. They have a very small fan inside the tent and we made sure to ask for another one since there was 4 of us in total and the heat was very uncomfortable. We arrived right at check-in time which was 3PM and yes it was very hot but don't be deceived by the heat in the afternoon, it got very chilly at night so just be prepared, PLS BRING A JACKET ESPECIALLY FOR THE KIDS that way you can enjoy your bonfire without freezing. We had tent #4 (which I personally think was a perfect spot, it had the perfect amount of shade, decent walk to the river and bathroom. This tent is literally the 1st set of tents you see after the check-in shack) which had 2 beds and was very spacious for 4 adults and 1 kid. We also had a hammock included in our reservation (not all tents have a hammock) as well as a fire pit and a picnic table. The tent provided you with a bath towel along with a face towel. Blankets and pillows are also included. One thing that really annoyed us was the amount of flies around so I am not sure if there's something you can use to get rid of the flies but what did help was when we started our bonfire, the flies went away almost immediately. The camp site provides you with 3 propane powered grill by the common area section of the site which of course is first come first serve. It also comes with grilling utensils (tong and fork). We brought our own propane powered portable stove because we had korean bbq our first night. You are not allowed to bring rice cooker, so please check their website for list you can and cannot bring. We did use their grill on our 2nd day, just make sure to clean up after yourself. Their restrooms are impeccably clean. They have a full bathroom(shower & toilet together) and they have showers only and as well as toilets only, so plenty of options. RIVER- bring your own inner tube. The river is easily accessible from the campsite. I highly recommend buying some water sandals, the river is very rocky. The water is also cold but it's very perfect when it's very hot in the afternoon. Some section of the water is ankle deep and some area is neck deep so you just have to find your perfect area. Bring camping chairs or umbrellas when you go to the river, its honestly very relaxing. QUIET TIME: I am very glad we did not have anyone staying on either side of our tent. We all work grave yard so we are used to being up in the middle of the night which we were all nights we were there but we made sure we were not loud which yes is very hard but we tried our very best and thank god no one complained. When they said that quiet time is at 10PM every literally went to bed at 10PM. So do keep this in mind. STORE ON-SITE- the store on site has ice and wood for bonfire. Bring your charcoal if you want to cook using your fire pit, I am not sure if they had charcoal available in store. They had a variety of items in the store, from wine bottles to basic necessities. Their downtown is about 10 mins away so don't worry if you forget something, you can easily drive to their downtown and buy whatever you need. Things I wish I brought with me: -Outdoor lamp for night time -Small Blanket -Mosquito repellant -Extra camping chairs FOR DOG OWNERS: If your dog doesn't do well in the cold or heat please plan ahead and bring the appropriate things to make sure they are comfortable. We had a pug with us and due to the heat, we had to check her in at a doggy day care(they had one at their downtown, which was very cheap) for the day. Even when it's cold, make sure your dog has a blanket. LOL moments: You know we're not campers because we did not secure our food well at night and a raccoon ransacked our campsite our first night. It ate the dog food and some meat we had left so yeah just make sure you store your food properly lol..... CONS: Cars from the road can be easily heard from the campsite. Power went out our first night at around 11:30PM which means no charging and no light at the campsite just the restrooms which was powered by the generators which can also be loud. I highly recommend going on a weekday it is honestly less crowded. We stayed from Wednesday to Friday. They campsite was probably about 40% occupied and then of course as it got close to the weekend people were checking in more. ACTIVITIES: Boat rides, jet skies, wineries are all easily available to book and is only about a 20 min drive. We did horse back riding before we went home on our last day. Will I go back, absolutely and this time I will bring my family. It's honestly an amazing experience and I would love to try it out again.

Yelp
Very much a glamping experience! The grounds are well kept and actually pretty small so it feels like a small community and not crowded at all and the tents are very comfortable with amenities you normally wouldn't find outside of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and we absolutely their little camp pup and cat! Their bathrooms are super clean most of the time and this was the thing I worry about the most when camping! Check-in was easy too and our tent was ready early so we were able to check in at an earlier time(they allow you to be on the grounds starting at 1pm on your check in day). I also loved that there were dedicated parking spaces right behind your tent. Of course we went on the hottest weekend ever when they issued an excessive heat warning, but the location allowed us to drive over to the downtown area to escape the heat a bit or drive around and enjoy the wine country sights. The store is a nice amenity too and I like that you don't really have to carry cash and you can just charge it to the booking. It's stocked with ice, desserts(even a birthday cake!), alcohol, games you can rent, etc. they had a complimentary wine tasting one day during our stay and they have complimentary hot beverages every morning. I do wish we stayed a little longer into the weekend(we checked in on thurs and out sat) because we missed the yoga and the live music. A couple things to note..the tents are pretty close so you do hear everything and it's nice that they have the quiet hrs that almost every night we were there ppl adhere to. Since it got a little cooler later on in the day, we kinda wished we had more time to do louder activities later on in the night, but totally understand why the quiet hours are enforced. I was also a bit deterred to let my kids swim in the river due to the blue-green algae they advised us about during the orientation. They said they did test recently, but warned some areas may have it. My daughter has eczema so I was afraid she might come in contact with it so we ended up not going in the river. The rest of my family did though :) Overall, a pleasant stay besides the excessive heat and blue-green algae! Hopefully we can come back when it's cooler and the algae is not in bloom.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Took my 5 year old son and we both had a blast. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff who helped with all questions we had. The cabin was clean, comfortable and we didn't want to leave. River access is directly across from the cabins, and my son could easily float and play safely. Thanks for a great time!

Yelp
What I loved about Wild Haven was that it allowed us to be one with nature and still had the confort of a home. Each tent has a heater and a few electrical outlet to charge your phone and basic necessities. Even though it was rainy and wet outside, we were able to stay dry, warn, and toasty. You know I'm very susceptible to cold, but I didn't feel that when I was inside the tent. Our bed also came with nobs that heated up the bed ! We brought miniature poodle who slept like a baby (old man, 11 years old). This is a dog friendly camping area, but make sure to read the disclosure they provide! We hung out by the Russian river. Please note that there are no active lifeguard. So please tread carefully at your own risk. I'd recommend going down with a few friends. Go during mornings and afternoon time. Avoid heading down there when it rains, it does get muddy and slippery. We made a fire to make s'mores, but let me tell you what won my heart. The communal bbq grills . I threw drumsticks and corn on the grill and let it cook. On the side, there was a burner where we used a pan to stir fry some soon. Super convenient. Definitely will be coming back here again.

Yelp
This place wins the "close but not cigar" award. Our cabin was nice and comfortable; highly recommend the "riverside" locations since the rest are in an area that feels more like a crowded parking lot than the great outdoors. My biggest issue with this place is the inadequate bathrooms and showers. Not enough of them to accommodate the amount of people and missing any creature comforts associated with "glamping." Very bare bones. Not even a trash can in the shower area. Other challenge if this place is the location; the main beach area is directly under a major road. I was hoping for a more immersive nature experience at the gorgeous Russian river and less traffic noise.

Yelp
glamping [lampiNG] NOUN a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping. When I was a little girl, we camped more times than I can count. My dad always seemed to find the most remote, off-the-beaten-path spot where we'd wash dishes in the stream, build our own designated bathroom, cook everything over the fire, and just have the best time enjoying nature. To me, that's what camping was all about. But then I grew up and *I* was the one responsible to recreate the magic. Camping in general AND taking 4 kids is a LOT of work. They are adults now and I still love camping but no longer want to go through the checklists of preparation to make it happen. Cue: GLAMPING I appreciated the customer service from Wildhaven as my plans changed last-minute and they were very understanding! Their flexibility set the initial stage for our positive experience. Website was easy to navigate and quite informative. Read the FAQs! I'm a local and still found myself looking at the "plan your visit/nearby activities" section. We really do live in a great area! Hubby and I arrived for our anniversary getaway, got checked in, then the host came and gave an overview of Wildhaven. Nice touch! Because it was 45* in January AND a Wednesday, we had the whole place to ourselves. (It was sold out for the weekend so don't let that fool you!) We booked a riverfront site and it was such a beautiful spot! No cars or tents to block our view. After a tour, we lazed in the hammocks, enjoyed wine by the fire, toasted marshmallows, hiked down to the water, grilled up dinner, and waited for night to fall. So relaxing! And SO VERY cold outside for this California girl. LOL The heated mattress pad was definitely on HIGH. Comfortable beds, snuggly pillows/blankets and a space heater were all greatly appreciated! This was not my childhood camping and I was glad! I'll concur with the others in that the Highway is riiiiiight there and traffic seemed nonstop. I'm not a light sleeper and it didn't cause an issue but hubby had a bit harder of a time. In the morning, we woke and stumbled over to the store for our coffee which was just delicious and very appreciated! Tea and hot chocolate were options as well. The communal kitchen has 3 barbecues with side burners but make sure to bring your skillets, utensils, napkins, plates, etc. Sinks with sponges and dish soap made clean up a breeze. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. I'll be the first to admit I was lulled into thinking glamping = "hotel" vs. "camping" and didn't come as prepared as I should have. I forgot minor things like salt/pepper, wine glasses, vessels for leftovers, etc. It all worked out but again, it IS actual camping so be prepared. The whole Wildhaven team did their best to make this experience as pleasant as possible. I wish them all success in their pursuit to make this glamping spot a true wine country destination.

Yelp
We had a great time here. The staff was nice. Bathroom was a little far. It's kinda like a parking lot situated next to nature so kinda interesting but overall nice experience.

Yelp
My husband and I came here on our last night in California. We spent the week in San Fran and then of course wanted to check out beautiful Sonoma before we left. They have a couple different options that you can choose from, we kind of booked a little late so we need up with the tent that had two beds in there, and it was the best thing that we could have done to end our trip. You could buy firewood, they have board games you could play. They had outdoor kitchen that was available with grills. The bathrooms were very nice, but waking up at 1:30am and having to go was not so fun but we managed. All of the beds have a heated mattress pad that was absolutely needed and kept us so warm. The tents were great, it had a heater that was inside, there was electric outlets to charge your phone. It was a great experience and everyone should try it out. Each tent had its own fire pit right in front, and some even had hammocks. Great walk to the river.

Yelp
4.5 My first time glamping but such a great experience! Some Tips before going: - Plan ahead for your meals in case you want to cook onsite. Each tent comes with it's own picnic table and firepit and there's 3 communal gas grills to use. We brought a butane gas stove with a pot for hot pot. Everything else we were planning to use the grill. - If you're planning to cook, make sure you bring utensils - tongs, forks, plates, bowls, etc. Otherwise, there's plenty of restaurants in the nearby town of Healdsburg. Things to pack: - Flashlight and any portable light sources (there's no light when you're outside your tent) - Flip flops for the shower - Umbrella & waterproof jacket if you're going in the Fall like I did - Regular toiletries like shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, etc. They only provide towels and hand soap. - They provide both a heater and fan in the tent. The heater was plenty warm during the night and I didn't need an extra blanket! The biggest thing to note is that the campsite is off the main road. No matter where your tent is, you'll still hear cars all throughout the night. I wouldn't recommend coming if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise, an awesome chill time!

Yelp
I had the most wonderful experience Wildhaven Sonoma! The tents, restrooms, kitchen area and amenities were so tidy, the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, and the camp grounds were so stunning. We even came during a rainy weekend and had an absolute blast. I can't wait for summertime to float down the river, and have the opportunity to do more outdoor activities. Thank you Wildhaven!

Kayle B.

Yelp
Wildhaven Sonoma was exactly what I needed for my pandemic birthday celebration. If you're not sure about camping, try glamping here. Our riverside tent was cozy enough despite the unusually chilly weather and was helped by the heat warming mattress-peak coziness was achieved. The staff were lovely. The campgrounds itself is spacious and there are tons of little plc The package we selected came with s'mores, but the sweetest touch was placing us in tent 35 for my 35th birthday. I can't wait to visit again with my husband, by myself, and with friends.

Yelp
We spent one day/night at wildhaven sonoma to celebrate my birthday and absolutely loved it. The tents are very cool. Bathroom/shower is clean. The bed is very comfortable and heated :) I love the outdoor campfire, a wonderful gathering point. Shoutout to Tony very nice and helpful. Will definitely go back!

Kica A.

Yelp
My only complaint is for the heat - being outside at 90 degrees is a very bad idea. Other than that it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful, it's a great location, and the tents and restrooms were comfortable. Very highly recommend - just go in cooler weather.

Yelp
My husband and I Glamp'd at Wildhaven from Friday 9/30-Sun 10/2, and we had a blast. I was worried about the freeway, kid noises, and tents being close by-- but it did not bother me at all (and I'm sensitive to noises). They provide really great earplugs and the only thing I heard was my husband's snoring-- but that's another story. If you're looking for absolute silence, this is not for you. Yes, you'll hear cars during the day and at night if you don't use the earplugs, and yes you may hear your neighboring tent here and there-- but you just have to come with an open mind and choose to have fun regardless or you can knit pick the little things and be a negative Nancy-- your choice. LOVE: The proactive communication from what to pack a week before you arrive to the day of text of arrival, I was so impressed!!!!! The friendly service, the very clean bathrooms/showers/sinks with warm water, the comfortable bed, the concert (NICK, YOURE AMAZING!!), wine tasting, the store (board games to borrow for family fun, water, swag, beer, wine, s'mores, cheese, water, gelato bars, etc), tube rentals (free air pump if you bring your own tube), you can buy ice &wood (~$13) on-site, easy access to the River to float down and hike back up on (highly recommend water shoes/sandals), how close Big Johns Market was and it had everything there, nearby hiking area, surrounded by wineries, and a casino a few minutes away if that's your jam. Minor Opportunities to make it even that much better: some sort of shelving/drawers in the tent, food lockers for coolers (apparently there's raccoons, but we left our cooler out-- no issue), enforce a no speaker usage (I swear this was a policy on the website, but no one enforced it)-- I didn't mind it, but there were some music selections with profanity and strong percussion that I can see how it would disrupt the whole area. Im not a fan of speakers in nature, but if someone played the guitar around the camp fire, I think that would be more acceptable. Other than that, our weekend was pretty epic. Thank you Wildhaven, we'll be back again. Shout out to Jordan for coming to our tent and giving us an orientation and taking a picture for us, Red for helping us build our fire in the dark and giving us pointers, Nick Foxer for an epic concert-- impressed with his vocal range and how he engaged the crowd the whole time, Jeremy with Kokomo Winery for the lovely wine tasting experience and charming personality, and the lovely lady in the store who was very kind. THANK YOU!

Yelp
Saw a lot of ads on IG so had to try this place out for glamping. Here's my feedback based on a 1 night stay on Sunday 11/20: Pros - Clean, well sanitized, bathrooms and wash stations were well kept - Comfortable bed towards the firmer side which we prefer, heated mattress can get very warm Cons - Very loud, didn't mind the street noise from the cars, but the winery fans that kept blowing all night was like having a helicopter hovering right above your tent. Earplugs didn't help much, ended up sleeping with my noise cancelling AirPods - Heater inside the tent barely worked, it was set to maximum 82 but felt like our inside was very similar to outdoor ambient of mid 30s, maybe 40 at best. Body was warm from the bed but face was freezing - One of our lamps didn't work, we told the person working at the store right away and she said she would check if they have another one we can use, or swing by our site to let us know there wasn't one available. She never stopped by. Later the on-site surveillance person stopped by and asked how we were doing - we told him the same thing and he responded that he wasn't able to help. Apparently they have a big stash of broken lamps so they'd need to check one by one. Hopefully they fix it for the next people that use site 21 - Check in was supposed to be 3-7pm, but we got calls and told us if we planned to check in after 5:45 that we needed to notify them separately so they can accommodate. One would assume they needed to be notified after 7 only - Their store is supposed to stay open till 6, but when we went at 5:40 they were already closed. Lights out, doors closed, no one even at the check in booth. Quite early for a camp site tbh. - Coffee / tea / hot chocolates were only available 9-11am. Are they waiting for everyone to check out then offer the complimentary drinks? Lol this is very late for camp folks as many would likely get up by sunrise considering quiet hours start at 10pm. Overall we had an ok experience. FYI we were charged $27 for 2 packs of firewood, so consider bringing your own in. Also, you can bring in your own charcoal to use in the fire pit and grill some food with (not stated otherwise). We would come back sometime in the warmer summer months before fall harvest season to enjoy more of the amenities including river activities, and maybe we would find a date that had live music.

Yelp
Two friends and I stayed a couple of nights while we attended a retreat at The Bishop's Ranch on the other side of Healdsburg. We came in late and left early each day so our experiences were just in tents and WC. We each had our own tent. I was the youngest of us at nearly 70, and the eldest nearly 80. Two of us are seasoned campers, the other pretty urban. It was wet and rainy so this was a real test of comfort! As soon as many reviews say, the tents are immaculately clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Heated sleeping pads! Ample space. Nice details. We brought our own duvets and were glad of that. One thing... the space heater controls were confusing. The top button on mine with w little crescent moon is the on and off switch. I would stay here again if attending another retreat at the Ranch. Maybe with enough time and good weather to enjoy the river.

Yelp
This visit was during the weekend of 7/16-7/18. Pros: The overall campgrounds, restrooms and other facilities were well maintained. The tent my wife and I stayed in was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a convenience store but with very limited inventory. The site is like 10 minutes away from the city where there are a few full service stores you can purchase any items you may need. Friendly staff will initially greet you at the entrance and give you an overview of the campsite and answer any questions you may have. Cons: If you are light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The tents are probably like 20 feet apart but since they are tents (thick cloth), you can very well hear everything around you. There is a busy highway (which is posted on their website), probably 50 feet away from the last row of tents (where we stayed) but traffic tends to dwindle around 10pm. There are courtesy ear plugs in your tent for a reason. During our stay, there was a group that sounded like teens or young adults that were noisy up until 1am. Posted "Quiet Time is 10am". I felt there wasn't any staff that addressed this group at the time. Conclusion: Will I go back? Probably, but only with a group and only if I can reserve at the farthest row away from the highway (which is the river area). Is it worth the money? During peak season, I would say no. I'm not sure how much would it be for non-peak months or if it would be much cheaper. If alcohol helps you sleep well, then by all means bring some.

Yelp
Cute glamping spot right next to the russian river, with backyard access to a private swimming hole of the river. Up to 2 dogs are allowed for an extra $30/day, per dog. The place is fairly new so the tents and buildings are still nice and clean. Plenty of showers and bathrooms to use. Showers are nice, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. Towels are provided for every human as well. As far as my stay has been, it seems like they clean the bathrooms and showers daily. The bad thing is that the showers easily leak water onto the floor of the shower/bathroom structures so they are sometimes flooded, so you'll be walking in puddles inside. I worry that there may be a mold/mildew problem in the future because of the poor ventilation in some of those structures. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They have complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings at the general store. The store is small but neat, with ice cream popsicles, ice, small bday cakes, Wildhaven clothing, snacks, and drinks. Their craft beer/alcohol selection is actually pretty decent, with great choices from local breweries. The river access is great, walk a minute and you're there. The bad thing is that spots by the river are limited. I walked along both sides of the river to find better and more private little spots but there are only a few decent ones. The water is pretty shallow for the most part. Mostly rocky beach. There is also a lot of spots with algae on the shore so if you have a dog, you have to be careful where you play. Not a lot of hiking options within this spot. If you're here to float down the river, it's not a bad place to start. Or if you're willing to drive out to town, there are a couple other nicer river beaches / access points. You can cook here with the grills provided or with your own grill, or you can be like us and be lazy this time and just drive 10 min into town to try out Healdsburg's famous restaurant scene. Nice place to chill and relax overall! I wanted to update the review to give them 5 stars because of how attentive they are when you tell them about the things they need to be fixed. Easily reachable by text. When sinks were clogged, they responded in less than an hour and fixed them up. Staff members would ask to make sure there's enough of things and if they need to be refilled.

Yelp
An experience to remember! We booked during the weekdays right before Mother's Day weekend. The rate was a bit cheaper and there was hardly anyone else tenting near us. The goods: + Beautiful location among trees and walking distance to the Russian River + Week day visit meant only one small group near us by the river. It was otherwise empty. + Spacious tent to fit a family of 4. Comfortable bed with heating pad. Cots for the kiddos and wifi to access music that lulled them to sleep. + Dedicated fire pit for grilling or roasting marshmallows. We bought the s'mores pack from the on site market but I'd recommend bringing your own to save $$. + Dedicated picnic table, hammock and porch furnishings. + Hella clean bathrooms with real flushable toilets. Beautiful showers and accessible types too. + Quiet hours + Community grill area No bads, no uglies. No, really. I loved it here.

Yelp
If it wasn't for COVID, I don't know if I would've thought I'd go glamping. 3 of us came and appreciate all the emails of reminders and thoroughness of their site. We had the premium river view 2 queen tent, and I definitely recommend that if you check this place out. Your own hammock, picnic table, bbq pit, no car in front of you, and direct access to the river. Beautiful grounds and workers are really friendly. We were lucky coming at an off peak weekday time as there were only 3 other tents occupied during our 2 day trip. We really enjoyed our time here, but a couple of cons as people ask if I recommend this place. The yelp reviews talk about the road traffic noise...for a light sleeper like me, it is loud. They do provide earplugs but they've never done well for me. The twinkle light addition in the tent is great, but there's gaps at the top of the tent that attract bugs like mad! The bathroom/shower situation, there's a total of 3 (toilets for men and women, 3 shower stalls) and a handicap stall. When this place is packed I imagine the waits to be a bit. For us, it was great and really clean. The pros is they have a store with firewood, ice, basic necessities you need. The mattresses are heated if you'd like on each side of the bed. It is quiet and serene here. A nice getaway and close to the wineries, stores, and restaurants.

Woody C.

Yelp
well worth the drive! Comfortable accommodations, clean facilities, and courteous and welcoming Staff. The private river access and the quiet campsite made for a very pleasurable vacay. This could very well be an annual event.

Marty X.

Yelp
Ok - I haven't stayed here - so this is more about the dog fee. $30 per night per dog seems excessive. With my 2 small dogs - a tent that is $99 per night goes up to $159 - yikes - that is a 66% increase!

Veronica V.

Yelp
I am beyond impressed with this glamping site. The tents are roomy with comfortable beds, the bathrooms are clean and well stocked, and river access was so convenient. Best glamping spot I have ever been to and cannot recommend enough. We had a tent with a broken zipper which the very helpful and friendly staff tried to fix for us but it really just needed more than a quick fix. Parking was very convenient, right behind our tent.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem! My young daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed what was our first visit (with many more to come) during spring break week. I can't get over how EASY of an experience we had. Wildhaven provides the tent, the grill/fire pit, bedding, interior lighting), a fan, portable heater, and basic toiletries in their super clean and private showers. You can buy firewood and s'mores kits there. They have a store on site for incidentals and the best part was private access to a river that was surprisingly warm for early April and safe for kids; particularly those who can swim. Their quiet hours are strictly enforced (thank you) and the property is kept very clean. Dogs are allowed and the hosts are very accessible if you have questions. Thank you Isabella for help with the reservation (and the cooler bag) and Eric for helping us out with a lantern (do not forget to bring one). The hospitality was world class. Above all, thank you to the owners for making the experience affordable despite its location in the $$$$ Alexander Valley - something that is becoming more and more rare these days.
