We had so much fun! Thank you Wildwood for this free adventure...it's a great to have a fun place for to go with my dog only ten minutes from home! Lots of other adorable and friendly dogs to play with! Large dogs and small dogs have separate places and appropriate sized equipment!

Wildwood Dog Park is an absolute gem for dogs and dog owners! The park is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, offering plenty of room for dogs to run and play. The best part is its proximity to the beach, allowing for a fantastic blend of park and ocean fun. The separate areas for small and large dogs ensure that all pups can enjoy their time safely. There are water stations, shaded areas, and comfortable seating for owners, making it a great spot to relax while your dog has the time of their life. The community here is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall positive experience. If you’re in Wildwood and looking for a great place to take your dog, this park is a must-visit. My dog loves it, and so do I! Highly recommend! It's truly impressive a park like this should be in every town Hats off to Wildwood. Time for the rest of NJ towns to follow suit!!

I’m so grateful Wildwood offers this free attraction. The dog park was amazing. It’s filled with ramps, tunnels, small kiddie pools, everything a dog could ask for! There is also a water hose to wash the sand off you and your pup. The beach was beautiful, spacious and clean. I cannot recommend this place more for your furry friends! The highlight of our trip.

Google
Best dog park ever! It had easy access to parking as well as the beach. The actual dog park was a large gated area directly off the boardwalk. It included shaded areas, places for humans to sit, agility activities, and fresh water. Our Bernese pup loved it. She also loved being able to walk right to the water and meet several new dog friends. The area on the beach was large enough to spend all day there without feeling cramped or coralled. There was a fresh drink booth on the beach not too far from the water, no hotdogs, though. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone wanting to bring their dog to the beach and still enjoy the beach themselves.

Google
Hey there! Have you tried taking the beach taxi yet? It's honestly the best $2 I've ever spent to get down to the beach! And the best part is, they'll pick you up for just $2 as well. Don't forget to bring a bag for shells and your towels. Once you're on the beach, you can also rent chairs and umbrellas, which will make your visit even more amazing! Enjoy your time in the sun.

Google
Such a great place for four legged family. Everyone was super friendly, the dogs had a great time. I will definitely be back. However, I wish they allowed just a little more space on the beach for dogs. But me and Cookie had a BLAST!

This place was awesome for our 3 little girls! They have a separate small dog side which is they only way I'll take them to a park as you never know. My girls had a blast, we went every day that we were in town.

Yelp
WILDWOOD: the Wildwood Dog Park & Beach is really special. A dog park on the beach, there is an impressively large fire hydrant structure that is a perfect landmark to let you know you are there! The dog park is on the sand with various obstacles to keep your pup engaged. There are separate entrances for small dogs and big dogs. Once inside, you can cross from either side through the central gazebo. Dogs can be off-leash in the park. Dogs are also allowed on the regular beach and to swim in the ocean, but must be leashed while on the beach. More details below. There is also a parking lot right on Ocean Ave between East Maple and East Glenwood Avenue for easy access. "Dogs visiting the Wildwoods area are welcome to join their families on the beach to swim in the ocean or visit the dog park. The Wildwood Dog Park & Beach is located between Glenwood and Maple Avenues. The dog park is open daily, and the dog beach is open from dawn to dusk. Use caution and only swim when a lifeguard is present. All rules for the Wildwood Dog Park & Beach are posted at entry and must be followed. Fresh water and clean up bags are available on site. Dogs on the beach must remain leashed, and leashes in the park are optional. Entry to the Wildwood Dog Park & Beach is at the owners risk, please be cautious and courteous to all dogs and visitors. Open Year Round." Glenwood Avenue & The Beach Wildwood, NJ 08260 Also: "Dogs are allowed on Wildwood and Wildwood Crest beaches from October to May, and on the North Wildwood beach at any time except for when lifeguards are present (9:30am-5:30pm), but are not allowed on the Boardwalk at any time. Dogs must be on a leash and owner must pick up and dispose of droppings. A "dog friendly" park and beach is located at Glenwood Ave in Wildwood and clearly marked with a giant fire hydrant sculpture. Hours are from 6 a.m. until dusk. A dog park is located on the east side of the beach at 24th Avenue in North Wildwood, a permit ($10) is required for your dog and hours are 8 a.m. until dusk."

Yelp
Most dog parks are after thoughts but it's obvious that they planned this one well. Being right off the boardwalk it's very accessible, and luckily free to boot. They have both small and large dog enclosures as is customary, and some fun structures for the pups to run around. I also like the small portion of beach they have roped off for dogs and dog friendly folks. I've never seen this at any other swimming beach and I think it's great the city of Wildwood has made beach days accessible to dog owners/carers. If you want your pup to experience the ocean this is a great place to do so, and they can meet lots of other furry friends here as well.

Yelp
Moving from Hawaii.. my standards for beaches are pretty high! And I've been having fun exploring all the different shore beaches and boardwalks in Jersey... so naturally, as a dog mom, wanted to check out some dog friendly beaches to bring my lil puppers too! Wildwood beaches certainly did not disappoint! Parking There was parking available right at the address listed 3000 Boardwalk. Was plentiful in the afternoon on a weekday.. but I cannot speak for parking situations during peak hours during the weekend. But parking was convenient and right at the entrance to the dog beach! And it was only $5! Again this was weekday prices so no clue what they are on weekends! Dog park Nice set up for the dog park! You can find it as you enter the dog beach area and you can't miss the HUGE fire hydrant! There are 2 different areas for small and bigger dogs to separate by size. And tons of water to help keep your doggies hydrated. My dog is boujee tho and wouldn't drink out of it haha.. but it's there! Lots of obstacles to let your puppers run free with other puppers. It was clean and all the other owners there were friendly and respectful. Watched their own dogs in case anybody got a little irritated which is good. Only wish there was a little bit more areas for shade.. but it's the beach sooo not a huge deal. It's right next to the boardwalk so you can go under there to take a break from the sun! Dog Beach Beach is great as well! Sand is super soft. You're suppose to keep your dog on the leash even when you go into the water. I think that rule sucks lol... I'm used to Hawaii with being more free and not having too many rules.. but it is what it is! We let ours run free because he's well behaved and nobody said anything. None the less.. a really nice beach! Will definitely be coming back to check out more stuff such as some of the food establishments that allow puppers also!

Yelp
Best dog park on the Jersey Shore! Plenty of dog obstacles, running water and water bowls, small plastic doggy pool for cooling down, and a gazebo for owners.

Gretchen S.

Yelp
Such a nice place for my pup to play. There are two sections, one for big dogs and another for smaller pups. It was off season so she had the park almost to herself.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Such a cute idea!! They have 2 sides for different size dogs ! The view camt be beat! The beach has lots of obstacle course like items for dogs of all sizes. They have a nice gazebo for people sitting and gives you shade

Donna P.

Yelp
Maple Ave on the beach. Well maintained dog park. Dogs are allowed to run free in the fenced area. Entry under the boardwalk from Maple Ave and walk out onto the sand. There is a huge sign marking where to enter. Two fenced in areas to accommodate small and large dogs. Faucet to give dogs water. Various climbing areas. Benches to sit and a gazebo for shade. Lighted area. Both areas are exposed to sun so go early or later in the day as summer it is hot with no breeze. Really a great place to take your best friend.

Jacqueline R.

Yelp
My small dog had a great time. Nice to have something for her to do. A little too hot when we went but there was a small area of shade.

Jaime C.

Yelp
Love this beach. You can bring your dog as long as its on a leash. The dog can even go in the water. They also rent umbrellas just in case you forgot your own. A couple of volleyball courts nearby are a huge bonus.

Long N.

Yelp
Such a fun day at the dog beach. So packed even on a Monday! But the sun was out the water was warm. Can't complain in any capacity. Only complaint is how small the area is. Wish they would extend it a couple more blocks so it's just not the length of a block. Parking was easy to find and we definitely will be back!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Being a competitive swimmer most of my life, I hoped that my dog would be a little water bug. Unfortunately- she's not a huge fan of the water otherwise if she was I would be here every weekend with her. Wildwood is known for its long beaches and this is a great use of all the space. In the back near the boardwalk is a dog park- perfect for the pups who love the sand but don't love the water. It is separated into two sections, one for little dogs and one for big dogs. Inside, there are toys and different things for the dogs to explore. However, be really careful when people are letting their dogs in and out- there is only one gate. (I'm a fan of when dog parks have the double gates so there's no slip outs) If you have a land dog who dreams of being a sea dog, then being allowed to bring them into the ocean is perfect! The water is a short(ish) walk from the park area. Make sure you keep your dog on a leash, and be on the look out for sandbars to swim out to with your dog.

Eva S.

Yelp
Love love love this place!!!! Thank you wildwood for letting our dogs have a great vacation also!

Amy F.

Yelp
This was a great find! My family has vacationed in Cape May every summer for the last 10+ years but this is the first time we vacationed with our dogs. We looked for all dog related activities in the area and came across the Wildwood Dog Beach. From Cape May, the dog beach is about a 20-25 minute drive. We found street parking right near the entrance of the dog beach which was perfect. Our dogs loved to run around the beach. There are a couple of benches around for people and even a covered seating area overlooking both small and large dog parks. After letting the dogs play off leash in the covered area, we put them back on their leashes and walked down to the water. The distance from the play area to the ocean is a longer walk but well worth it for the dogs to splash around. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the shore!

Richie H.

Yelp
We came here after the Labor Day holiday - very little people here as well as dogs, but we preferred it that way as our dog is pretty shy and timid. There's a big and small dog area with a few obstacle courses. We prefer this dog beach area over the Somers point one: 1. This is truly by the beach while the other one is closer inland. 2. Somers point is a bit rockier and the waves were a bit rougher (probably timing?) 3. The beach area is huge for you and your dog to run around!

Alissa W.

Yelp
Took our dog on vacation, not a lot of dog friendly areas in Jersey but this place was amazing. Wish there was more like this!

Jill B.

Yelp
First time we took our pup to the beach, and he loved it!!! So much room and seemed very well-kept.

Erika M.

Yelp
It moved from where it was last year, just a single block over! It's very popular in the summer. We usually stay the weekend during the last weekend of August and there's tons of dogs playing around! Before the beach, there's an enclosed area that dogs can play in - one area for big dogs (usually greater than 25 lbs) and a small dog area. We have a westie and he loves playing in the sand! You can also walk down to the water where there's a designated area for dogs.

Rozina V.

Yelp
So glad we found a beach area that our whole family can enjoy. We went on a Wednesday, parked in a lot on Poplar for $6 for the day. Dog park has 2 areas, one for large breed and the other for small breed, plenty of room for them to run around, dog toys and water's available. Beach was very clean, all the dogs were on their leash, got a bit crowded by noon but it was still more than enough space for us to enjoy!

Marisa F.

Yelp
Obsessed with the wildwood dog beach. It's so nice to have a beach in the area to bring your dog so they're not sitting at home all day. Also super close to Pig Dog, which is dog friendly at the end of the pier.

Chris M.

Yelp
Great idea by the parks dept to devote a section of beach for those of us with dogs. We came on vacation with our dog, and have had to leave her in the camper for most of it. It is a far walk from the "play area" up the the water, however the play area is right up next to the boardwalk. The sand in between can get really hot (I think it's sad that most people make a big deal out of the sand burning their feet, but don't take into consideration that it's hot on their dogs feet as well). The play area has toys, and water and bowls, as well as bags, and receptacles Tom lean up after your dog. The water is a "guarded" area, and it seems that quite a few locals without dogs go there as well. It seemed less crowded than the "non-dog" areas. There are two parking lots right up next to the boardwalk. One on Poplar and one on Magnolia. One was $5 the other was $6 for all day. If you are going with the whole family, it's worth it!

Brian M.

Yelp
Love that Wildwood offers this! A great spot to go with the family and our pups! If Parking, avoid the small lot next to the boardwalk on Poplar. The old couple that runs the lot, that is essentially their driveway are extremely grumpy and particular in how you park your car. Also threatened to charge us the evening rate as we pulled out of the lot literally 30 seconds past 6pm.

Jason Z.

Yelp
The sole reason we decided to visit Wildwood was because of this Dog Beach, and our dog loved it! To access the Dog Beach, you have to cross under the boardwalk - which can be muddy if it rained recently. There's a fenced in area on the beach for dogs to run around in off leash. The small dog side and big dog side are well sized, and there's even a sitting area overlooking both sides of the dog park. We also took our dog (on leash only) down to the ocean. There's a specific section marked just for the dogs. Our 65 pound dog has never seen the ocean before. At first she was terrified by the thunderous crash of the waves. She then saw a small 10 pound dog jump fearlessly into the ocean, and our dog decided to run into the ocean as well. Remember to keep your dog on a leash!

Kerri S.

Yelp
We were visiting from long island new York and this was such a beautiful stop to our trip! We have nothing like this back in NY, and wish we did! We brought our 3 year old shiba inu and he had the best time. The park is immaculate and we'll kept. The dog owners we met were super friendly. And you can not beat the views! There Resort great obstacles and a side for large and small dogs. We wish this was closer! Beautiful park, would definatly return!

Lindsay H.

Yelp
One of my new favorite places at Wildwood! So glad to see that dogs are being more welcomed, which allows families to stay longer and bring their ENTIRE family (even those with paws)! One of my favorite spots to stop at on a daily boardwalk walk. Very clean, equipped with some toys and decorated with a large fire hydrant!

Ruth A.

Yelp
We specifically chose Wildwood to visit since Wildwood is the rare beach to have a dog friendly space and we didn't want to leave out our dogs from our vacay. The dog park is right by the boardwalk; you are allowed to walk on the boardwalk with your dogs to reach the dog park or you can walk below it as well. The dog park is very spacious; there is a small dog and large dog sections and there is also a fenced patio in the middle to watch both areas. There is also poop bags and water bowls available as well. We went after it rained so the dog park was pretty muddy, but you're by the water so your dog is bound to get wet and dirty! My only complaint is that to reach the ocean water, you have to cross like literally half a mile of sand from the dog park. And with all our stuff in one hand and our dogs' leash in the other, it was super long. But I loved how there were a lot of dogs (leashed) playing in the water and my pup enjoyed spending hours in the waves.

Kim M.

Yelp
I cannot say how happy I am wildwood is becoming more dog friendly! This place is the bees knees! My dog loves swimming and playing with the other dogs and then resting in the sand when he is all worn out. There is a water station and doggy duty bags throughout. The beach is kept clean and all of the owners know their dogs and follow the rules. Every time I'm down we bring buster!!

Terry K.

Yelp
This is for the dog park, which is located by the boardwalk. F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! This is off-leash, separated by big and little dogs, fun place for pups. Plenty of space for dogs to run, climb and play. Several mounds in the sand, tunnels, different surfaces, a giant piece of fire hose connected to a pole that my two pups just loved, plenty of benches in the sand and a gazebo for those trying to avoid the sun. Plenty of dogs to keep your pup busy. Mine sleep like rocks after a visit!

Suzanne T.

Yelp
I was so excited to bring my dog to the dog beach! The dog park part of the beach has two fenced in areas - one for small and one for big dogs. Each of the areas have plenty of fresh water, shade, toys, etc. The dog beach was extremely clean and the other dogs and families were friendly. Plenty of Frisbee and ball tossing and lots of barking from every kind and size dog you could think of but nobody minded. It was a great experience.

Angie K.

Yelp
I love it! The beach is open from 6 AM until dusk, and street parking starts at 8 AM. Beach is open year round (not just off season)! We entered through the Poplar Ave entrance, but you can also enter through the Magnolia Ave entrance. Dogs are required to be on leash. There are plenty of doggy bags and a water station. The owners are pretty nice here, and dogs we encountered were friendly. Plenty of space for play!

Danette M.

Yelp
The beach was clean, everyone was courteous and my puppy had fun experiencing the ocean. The little park on the beach was inviting as well. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone with a dog who enjoys being around other dogs.

Scott S.

Yelp
I am a dog lover, however at this time I do not have a dog. Yes this is a good idea but poorly managed. No one oversees this beach. Dogs are beyond this beach and people let their dogs run at dog beach and adjacent. Dogs are to be hooked at all times but many do not. People do not clean up from them either. I sit at the Poplar Ave beach and don't appreciate people and their casual ownership. Sorry

Mandy M.

Yelp
Great idea, but terrible flies and not enough space. My boyfriend and I took our dogs to the dog beach this past weekend and had a miserable experience. We paid $15 to park in the lot on Maple Street. It is a bit expensive but paying the premium is worth the convenience (plus it's only half price if you come back later in the day). Our dogs did not play in the park area, but it looked nice from afar. There were no other dogs in the park area. The dog beach is only a block, and it was overly crowded this past weekend. Everyone was very respectful with their dogs, but it's nice to have a little extra space with your pet. There wasn't much space for the dogs to play in the water without running into one another. We were able to enjoy the beach most of the day Saturday without being bothered by flies, but had to cut our day short once they started bothering our dogs. Then, when we arrived Sunday morning, a woman leaving the parking lot warned us that the flies were terrible that day. We decided to give the beach a try anyways, but left within the first 15 minutes because our dogs were each surrounded by about 40 flies. The flies were a nuisance but we also experienced painful bites! Once we finally made it back to the car, we realized both of our dogs were COVERED IN WELTS. There were 4 other dog owners back at their cars complaining that they were also leaving because of the flies. Overall, the idea of a dog beach is wonderful but the flies were so bad that we could not enjoy it. Unless you have a fly repellent for your dogs, I would not suggest visiting this location.

Denise V.

Yelp
Kudos to Wildwood for this fantastic dog beach. We have been coming here for over 20 years and I was so excited to find this amazing gated off-leash area for dogs now!! It's fantastic! They even have a water hose! Thank you wildwood for caring about our four legged friends!!
