On the Grid : Will Rogers Beach

"Will Rogers Beach is located at the intersection of Temescal Canyon and PCH, and is just a few minutes north of Santa Monica. It's definitely worth the drive because the plentiful and easy parking gets you on and off the sand faster than any of the other nightmarish options in Los Angeles proper. It's also probably the most pristine beach in the city with lots of space and not too many people. There are also volleyball nets, a waterside cafe, and a popular biking and running path. The southern most area on the beach has been dubbed "Ginger Rogers Beach" and has long been known as gay friendly. It's just across the street from the handful of decent restaurants and bars on West Channel Road convenient for post-beach sustenance." - No Style Studio

The 26 Best Things to Do in Los Angeles

"A mostly flat, leg-friendly ride along the coastline, the Strand is 22 miles each way, and easily doable in a day. With the Pacific breeze against your face, it's one of the most pleasant rides with some beautiful views along the way. You'll pass by Dockweiler Beach in Vista del Mar, famous for its hang gliders, and Manhattan Beach, where you can post up and watch the surfers as they ride the waves. You can start and end your ride at Santa Monica Pier, which is worth a visit in and of itself, and afterward have a bite to eat at one of Santa Monica's many seafood restaurants." - Maxwell Williams

I had such a great time at this beach. It was my first time there and I loved it. The first thing I appreciated was the parking. We paid $15 and had no issues whatsoever finding a space. What's also great is that parking is right off the beach so you dont have to worry about having a long walk from your car. Then, the beach was clean and not too crowded at all and we were there on a Saturday. It was incredibly chill. My friends and I were able to relax and enjoy our time there. I look forward to going back.

The best beach near Santa Monica if you want the Pacific Ocean away from craziness of the pier. To discover great places like this, follow us on instagram @gemislist

Going to beach one day or 2 days, you will only know how it looks in that day. I saw a lot crazy things on this beach! I saw the beach suddenly became red in May around 11:00am when I was walking on the beach. I was thinking someone’s period dropped off in the ocean? it is ofc not the reason. Then I searched online. It was because the red algae in the ocean turned the whole ocean from its normal color (which is dirty blue usually in this area) to kinda period color. Then another day I was walking on the beach, I saw few dolphins that were 5 feet away from the shore. I set my beach umbrellas, wine table, and lights here with friends, and listened to ocean at night. I watched lots of incredible sunsets, and sunrises in different time at all seasons. A lot times, I bike here. Will Rodger’s beach is amazing because it carries so many memories of me. I am glad I saw the ocean’s protection happening here by growing more beach plants on this area this year.

Google
A perfect place for a walk along the shore, running or biking. There is plenty of paid parking, but there is also free parking along the Temescal Canyon Rd temporarily closed due to the fires.

This beach is one of my favorites. I love coming here to relax. While it is getting busier, it’s still manageable. The beach itself is nice, although now there are vendors walking up and down selling items, which I would prefer to avoid. I do not recommend using the bathrooms here. They are not very clean, and I would advise against letting little kids go in alone—this is my rule pretty much everywhere these days. One night, when we entered the ladies' room, a rather large man walked out of a stall, which felt sketchy. During my last visit, there was no toilet paper in the stalls, but some ladies inside were handing it out. While this could be seen as a kind gesture, it gave me bad vibes, so we decided to go to a gas station in Palisades instead. I wasn't willing to trust anyone handing out toilet paper in a public restroom. If you come here, I suggest bringing your own toilet paper and toilet seat covers.

Amazing place to play some beach volleyball for intermediate + players. Very gay friendly beach. There is a parking lot that in front of the beach. Costs about $9.

Google
First time visiting this beach. We found it more enjoyable over others for several reasons. The entire area was well-kept/sanitary, convenient wash off area/bathrooms, easy beach access, cheap parking, more sunny weather given it’s further from mountainside haze/fog, and neat view of Santa Monica Pier from a distance. The only minor gripe we experienced was much of the shallow water/shore areas were VERY rocky until you get out a little ways.

I’ve noticed it’s a pretty clean beach. Beautiful too! 🩵

Yelp
I love this place, and now my children also like it and enjoyed their vacation. We will come here many more times, and maybe it will become a family tradition. You can just walk around here and enjoy the beautiful view. There is plenty of parking, so there is no problem to leave the car.

Yelp
Currently closed due to fires. This beach is in the evacuation zone. Hopefully they can reopen soon!

Yelp
This is a very convenient place for family vacations, and this beach is easy to get to. It is relatively clean and the beach residents are friendly. Our family loves to spend their weekends here. There is also a regular beach volleyball court and campground next to it.

Yelp
Will Rogers is a wonderful beach. And it's such a long beach with several different parking lots that even on the hottest of Los Angeles days you should have no problem finding a little spot on the sand all to yourself (though I will say if you're not their in the morning, there's a chance you might have to park along the street which isn't ideal. There are several snack shacks and restrooms scattered throughout the beach, but you can also obviously bring your own food (no glass!) so if you're on a budget, you can spend an entire day here for next to nothing. The beach itself is dog friendly, but on a leash. And it's also very family friendly. We came here with my 3 kids and everyone had a blast. I only wish I had dusted off my skimboard as the shoreline here would've been great for some of that before the beach got too crowded. In all, we spent about 5 hours here & only left because we had other things we needed to get to. I could've easily spent several more hours soaking up the sun.

Yelp
Great beach for a weekend beach day. Never too crowded and parking lots are generally not full and accessible. This is my go to beach for the warmer days in LA.
google avatar

Yelp
Close to Santa Monica with a wholly different vibe. Quieter, cleaner, lots of families. It's what I remember going to the beach was like a long time ago (like 50 years ago. Or 60). The lifeguards are attentive and nice. There's plenty of space to put down your blanket and it's never a far walk from the car to the water. Paid parking. That's okay.
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Come on a Thursday in November - there's nobody here!! Clean public bathrooms, $7 parking, handicapped walkway almost to the water. Short walk to the shoreline from the parking lot. Small cafe with ice cream, hot dogs, etc. at reasonable prices. Dogs on leashes are allowed :)
google avatar

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced. None of the lifeguards wore a mask. All visitors are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. There are no hand sanitizers available. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This beach currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here at this beach yesterday, I asked if they allowed pets onto the beach, and they do not allow pets onto the beach UNLESS it's a service animal. They will fine you if you do bring a pet onto the beach. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive, and it isn't free. During the summer, parking is $15 for the whole day. During the winter, parking is $9. Each parking spot is a bit small, so be careful where you park. They do take credit cards. No cash over $20 is accepted. Beach & Staff: The beach itself is very clean, neat, and tidy, The staff/lifeguards here are very kind, friendly, and chill. I decided to remove one star because the bathrooms were dirty AF and had absolutely no toilet paper anywhere in sight in all of the stalls.
google avatar

Yelp
This beach has plenty of volleyball courts that are close to the ocean as well as bathrooms. Parking is $15 on the weekends and many of the towers connect to each other so you can just go into one and drive around. Not too crowded on a weekend in September.
google avatar

Marsha S.

Yelp
Not to crowded , away from all the crazy crowds, away from the crazy noise , good parking and available restrooms
google avatar

Yelp
Yes, it's a very nice beach. Quiet not too much traffic. Easy-going parking is very close. They even put those hard floor mats on the sand so you can walk with cards, carriages other things of that nature. Oh, and I forgot to say the water looks green not blue.
google avatar

Yelp
We always come to Will Rogers Beach because it's always been clean but this last visit today was disgusting. The bathrooms were locked up and they had a bunch of porter potty that haven't been cleaned at all. There was NO toilet paper or water to shower or wash hands. poop and pads everywhere . It was DISGUSTING

Yelp
Parking lot along with usual street parking. Snack shop, ................ pretty clean, strong waves , good times :)

Yelp
I love going to the beach, this is one of the perks of living in LA. But we stayed away from any beach for months during the pandemic. The one we like to go has lots of people roaming the streets around which normally we like, it's fun and lively, near cafes and restaurants. But this year that wouldn't work. So, I did my research (Yelp included) and found Will Rogers State Beach. It's closer to the city, a plus and I read that it's not that crowded. Off we went, first time in a weekend. The beach is right off PCH in Pacific Palisades going up to Santa Monica. There are signs and a big parking lot. We paid $15 for the weekend day. Next time we went on a weekday, it was a tad cheaper $9. There are nice guys who work there and take the money from or the card. Very helpful, I paid cash. The beach is big, wide, clean. It's not crowded, like Zuma (before COVID was crazy), but there are people around. At least everyone stays away, preserving the social distancing. So, no one sat next to us, everyone respected the 6ft rule. You do hear music from people, but that's everywhere on a beach. The bathrooms are easy to find and some of the nicest and cleanest I've been inside - So Cal area. No crowds in there, plenty of toilet paper and soap. There's also a cafe if you get hungry, need a snack, a drink, a burger. Cute, lines aren't crazy. The beach is pretty nice, you can see the pier in Santa Monica in the distance. Depends where you situate yourself you might not see the shore, it's a tad strange, my only complaint. We've seen tiger sharks in the water (harmless) and dolphins further away swimming in the ocean. Also, plenty of pelicans. So, bring a snack, a drink, sun protective lotion and enjoy the cool beach where they shot "Baywatch" the TV show. For us it was a nice respite this summer and part of our staycation!

Yelp
Thank you, Will Rogers State Beach and the Pacific Ocean for comforting me... If you've ever got some mental/emotional stuff going on, I highly recommend a 6 mile, round-trip run/jog start from Will Rogers State Beach to the Santa Monica Pier (it's 3 miles from Will Rogers to SaMo Pier). Then afterwards, listen to the waves crash, watch the sunset and soak your feet/legs in the cool ocean water -feels amazing! Since the weather has been warmer lately, Will Rogers State Beach is a bit crowded. Although, fewer people than Venice and Santa Monica, in comparison though. Much less homeless folks around Will Rogers too. Has a snack bar, paid parking lot and NOTE: if you park along Temescal Canyon, it's free. Restrooms are decent -ladies room has about 4-5 stalls. Lifeguard on duty and people bring their dogs on this beach too.

Jacklin J.

Yelp
The parking is cheaper and their bathrooms were open. Overall, it's a nice beach, not too crowded and we will go back again.

Yelp
My first time at this beach for my 3 mile walk and I have to admit that I enjoyed it! Not as busy as Santa Monica but this close by. I parked on Temecula (free street parking) and walked across the PCH. When I want a quite walk on the beach in the morning, this is where I'll go.

Yelp
03/17/2017 Heal the Bay beach clean-up on this wonderful Saturday. About 1100 people came to help clean this beach. Surprisingly enough, 3 car tires were brought back from different volunteers collecting trash. More than 300 pounds of trash had been collected. There were these two older ladies who reported something but did not pick up what they saw. Anything dangerous and/or sharp volunteers should not touch or pick up. So they reported a used condom in the parking lot nearby the Will Rogers State Beach sign. I wouldn't touch that neither. 01/18/2020 Coming back here with Heal the Bay, Nuthin' But Sand beach cleanup event once again. Volunteers have found vape devices in the sand. Still finding cigarette butts and styrofoam pieces. Two more car tires were found too. One was brought in to be included in the weight count. The other tire was being held hostage by the rocks as it is stuck underneath. That's how powerful the pounding surf could become. So be very careful climbing the rocks. Most of the trash found nearby the beach club nearby. There was a syringe found but was not recovered.

Yelp
Our favorite beach! We come here at least once a week during the summer. The main reason is because lots of people don't know about this little gem. We pay for parking then drive all the way down to the end where there aren't that many people. It's always clean and groomed well. The sand is soft. Has a little swing set for the kids to play. The waves are always nice and mellow. Beach cafe to order food from. Ice cream man , fruit man, and another cart full of towels, chairs, boogie boards, and beach toys to purchase from. I've been to annenberg and santa monica pier. Nothing compares to Will Rogers. It's perfect.

Yelp
The park entrance is perhaps the greatest failure in California civil engineering I have experienced in my 33 years living all over the state. Will Rogers State Beach is on a beautiful stretch of land and the water is relatively clean. However, getting into the paid parking lot is awful. When driving North into the lot(from Los Angeles) the single stop light works only sometimes... Family and I waited in the left hand turn line for 45 minutes. As several other cars left the line, we inched forward and noticed that the light for turning left was getting skipped every single cycle. This was incredibly frustrating, so we left the line, drove through the light and then made a super illegal u-turn to be able to enter via the South bound queue. Once in the gate, other vehicles started cutting in and backing up traffic. The staff at the entrance used their hands to direct cars and did not address any disgruntled park-visitors complaints verbally. When we arrived to pay, the 3 entry lines seemed to be using the same credit card reader in one of the kiosks. So, the staff here having nothing to work with, and are dealing with people who are already frustrated with a poorly functioning stop light. After finally getting into the parking, we drove for a quite a while to meet our friends, and everything was great after that. I guess, I am just curious why there are not a) multiple entries for such a long parking(must be at least 1 mile long) and b) multiple card reads here LOL. The current (single) entrance encourages unsafe driving behavior and creates bad vibes for the poor staff to deal with. Please do better California

Yelp
Clean, plenty of parking along PCH on a weekday. Great views of the Santa Monica mountains and the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Great stretch of beach between Malibu and Santa Monica with a nice biking /walking/jogging path that leads you to Malibu or Santa Monica piers. Life guard stations that are usually manned and paid parking (around $10-$12 on weekdays to use the lot. Volleyball courts right next to parking lot and a set of restrooms and outdoor shower. Easy walking distance to nearby strip snack bars and restaurants or right across highway #1 is Patrick's Roadhouse serving a lot of grub. Plus a circle K also across from it. Also known as "Ginger Rogers" beach near lifeguard tower #18 so it's a mix of Families, couples and boy couples sunbathing but everyone is very nice and respectful. Nice because this part of the beach is also patrolled by the lifeguard, police and fire frequently.

Yelp
Been coming here pre-Covid and during. It is my favorite spot because A. Easy to find parking. $5 on weekdays and $15 on weekends. B. Do not have to walk far and haul all our stuff. Parking and beach is super close. C. People follow social distancing and stick in their own areas, even when in the water. D. Not rocky at all, good for kids when they boogie board. E. Fun to watch people fish, I have seen a tiger shark, don't worry, it was catch and release. Will probably check it out again this weekend.
google avatar

Alice A.

Yelp
Not a huge fan of this beach in terms of toddler friendliness. It's a nice big clean beach, running parallel along the PCH between Santa Monica and Malibu. Pretty busy during the weekday with middle class white moms and kids, as well as tourists. However, spots that include restrooms aren't marked well. Plenty of parking and it's around $9 cash for the day. There are slopes which go from the parking lot to the beach (good for carts and strollers), however I found the beach at the bottom of Temecula a bit dangerous for little ones. When the tide is in, the beach bank is super steep and the water deep. Def not safe for toddlers; you'd probably want a flatter beach with baby waves.
google avatar

Brittney M.

Yelp
It was fun! Don't Be afraid to walk! Plenty of Trash receptacles to keep It clean! Don't leave your trash please! Had a good time!

Yelp
The pier and the beach was beautiful. Loved it and would want to visit again. There wasn't much people and loved the peace and quietness.

Yelp
Although I was never a fan of, "Baywatch"; I realize that it was a pop-culture highlight for many folks. If you were a fan of the show and curious about where many scenes were filmed... then search no further: Will Rogers Beach. Will Rogers Beach, located in between Santa Monica and closer to the Pacific Palisades border off the PCH; is named after the famous actor due to his late-wife donating acres of land to the state of California. How does this beach stack up? Will Rogers beach pops up a few miles away from the tourist epicenter of the Santa Monica Pier and the post-card views that the tourists eat up. Rather, Will Rogers Beach is 3 miles of ocean front but mostly in a sandy setting with a few volleyball nets, lifeguard stands, and a small cafe/bathroom area. Basically it is a a flat area with not "much to see". There IS a rocky alcove-jetty perfect for walking out on especially while the waves are crashing on the rocks; but that's about it. That being said, Will Rogers Beach is perfect for a jog, stroll, or a more relaxing visit to the ocean that eschews the huge crowds of people. If you have social anxiety or just prefer to be at a lesser-populated beach; then Will Rogers is perfect for you. Another highlight? This beach is very clean. There isn't any trash piled up, human effects like graffiti, or too many birds (if you aren't a fan of sea gulls, then you will prefer this). This adds to the relaxing and "get-away"-feeling of Will Rogers. I suggest going to Will Rogers Beach at sunset. The colors and sunset are remarkable and your photo-taking skills will be amplified perfect for a photoshoot or social media. Even despite being a 'bland' beach, Will Rogers Beach can still take your breath away. Parking is available in a large lot immediately on the beach. I am unsure if it varies with the season but it was $4/car during February. Will Rogers isn't a fancy-schmancy beach and honestly there isn't too much to say about it. However, it is a nice respite for those wanting to spend some time listening to the ocean instead of listening to tourists. Will Rogers is a solid choice for a beach visit.

Yelp
To some it's just water, to me it's where I regain my sanity. So without further ado let's begin this bloody review. Southern California has many wonderful beaches and WRSB is one of them. It's my home beach because of its magnificent view of the SM mountains, Malibu and the Pacific Ocean. Will Rogers State Beach is a beach park on the Santa Monica Bay, at the Pacific coast of Southern California. Located in Pacific Palisades, the beach is owned by the California Department of Parks and Recreation; however, it is managed and maintained by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors. It's one and three-quarters mile along the shore. The beach features swimming and skin diving. Facilities include volleyball courts, playground, as well as a bike path and walkway. Furthermore, a number of movies and TV shows have been filmed at this beach. I have seen a couple of movie celebrities in the past few years. Anyway, the beach has a whitish sand and is well kept by the state parks staff. Plenty of trash bins. Similarly, a plethora of life guard tower stations with on duty life guards. Parking lots are available for a fee. I avoid parking on a certain lot because of fear of being carjacked. Overall, I always enjoyed going to this beach and I highly recommend you go visit.

Yelp
This is my second favorite beach in LA. El matador is number one, but lemme tell you about A beauty! The beach is much cleaner than Venice and Santa Monica. Crowded on weekends, but that is any beach. Parking lots along the beach that cost $$ or find parking somewhere along one of the streets off the PCH. The waves at this beach are not for surfing or body boarding! Go to deeper into Malibu if you want that. The waves are light and breezy, perfect for swimming. Food?! I believe there is a snack bar somewhere. I'd recommend bringing your own food. There's a grocery store right on the PCH at Sunset. No dogs allowed, as far as I know, but people being em anyway. Bring your dog at your own risk. Crowd is your usual beach crowd. Families, parties, young folk, old, tourists, locals, everyone.

Suely K.

Yelp
A day at the beach with the boys and finding These little blue wheelchair ramps was amazing and made me so happy. We were able to set up our blue tent at the end of the walkway and easily bring the wheelchair closer to the water! We are so Thankful for it! Pls support and provide more of these in all our beaches! Make all our beaches wheelchair accessible!!!

Yelp
fun beach, Plenty of space, and they keep it pretty clean, bathrooms, and lifeguards throughout

Yelp
It's quiet. Cozy setting. It's peaceful but busy. Always someone running. Walking. Or biking but quiet. I love this beach. I'm new to LA this is my go to spot..

Yelp
I came here on a Friday! Parking costs $9 flat. It's not that crowded, plenty of parking spaces. I loved here since it's really chill and quiet! It's a little bit farer than Santa Monica beach, but it's much less people here. You may enjoy the sunshine, the sand and the ocean with your friends or families. Also, we saw so many dolphins jumping off the water really close, super cool!

H S.

Yelp
Parking was only $7 and during the summer, what a deal! Anyway, started coming here rather than crowded Santa Monica. There are sections where you can have the water all to yourself. Aside from one naked man by the showers (he eventually did put some shorts on) the rest of the visitors seemed normal. They also have a good amount of manned lifeguard stations along the beach.
google avatar

Will L.

Yelp
I love this beach. I love going to a spot right across from the Getty Villa. It's almost never crowded and has some great scenery, a lot of big rocks. And you can make a day of it by first visiting the Getty and then walking across the PCH to the beach. FYI- you can park for free on the PCH!!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Great beach. Immediately off the bike path & PCH it has tons of parking and a large pay lot. It's nice & wide but not too wide, like parts of Santa Monica where you have to walk a ways to get close to the shoreline. There's a small cafe right at the base of Temescal Canyon and also restrooms. It's wheel chair accessible as well. They installed a ramp and they lay down these large blue pieces of plastic in a T shape from the base of the ramp out into the sand. You can wheel strollers, bicycles, wheel chairs or coolers on these and it prevents sinking into the sand. We usually hit the beach after a lengthy bike ride so it's nice not to have to haul the bike through the sand. Although I will say I've been seeing these floating walkways at a lot of the beaches in SoCal. This beach also has 2 lifeguard stands- typically one is manned so if you have kids at least you know there's another set of eyes. Although not the most scenic beach in Los Angeles, it's still lovely. I wish they'd remove the ugly chain link fence near the lifeguard station by the jetties but I think it's a precautionary fence used as a deterrent for boneheads falling onto the jetty below. Another reason I love this beach is it's great for photos. We did our holiday card portraits here and in fall, there was hardly anyone here. With the Santa Monica mountains as a backdrop it's quite a view. Great beach.

McKenzie K.

Yelp
Quiet little gem of a beach near Santa Monica $9 to park Beautiful view of the ocean and coastline Can see Santa Monica pier about 6miles away Nice access to bike path to cruise down to Santa Monica and Venice A clean and low key spot
google avatar

William G.

Yelp
This beach is located along PCH, where Temescal Canyon Road emds. Parking is plenty within the lots, but can also be found up and down TCR. Be sure to get here early, as weekends and holidays make it a bit harder to find a close spot. This place served as my starting point for my long sand runs back in the day. This route was my weekend training before I joined the military. If endurance is your game, the sand runs at this beach will definitely get you fit. This beach is also a good spot to chill. Just bring your favorite blanket, and enjoy the California sun. Keep this beach clean, and keep it classy.

Yelp
Went their on a Sunday after noon not to crowded very nice not to far from Santa Monica and the Parking was cheep love that
google avatar

Yelp
Nice beach. Not rocky at all. Like the fact that there were bathrooms and showers. Raking was $9.00 on weekdays
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Beautiful clean beach with volleyball courts, and a small parking lot conveniently close to the beach. Unfortunately if I would've waited three minutes I could've saved $4 on parking. Also, the payment machine does not give back change. Make sure to bring collar bills.
google avatar

Elysse T.

Yelp
I love this beach. Mostly because it's a LOT less crowded than Santa Monica Beach/Pier and only a few minutes away. We usually love going to Malibu, but the Palisades are a good "in between" when we have a late start and there is a ton of traffic. We love to set up our beach tent, bring snacks, and just lounge all day and listen to the waves. Parking is less than $10 and they take card- which is sooo worth it for a hassle free beach day in LA.

Yelp
Beautiful!!! I am greatly missing this spot during this 2nd Polar Vortex which has descended upon my residence in Milwaukee, WI. The -30 wind chills makes me miss the 80 degrees and plentiful sunshine I experienced while at this State Beach in October 2013. I visited mid-day on a weekday and there were very few other visitors. It felt very private. The beach was clean and full of life. There were dolphins jumping in the distance, flocks of birds, an intertidal/rocky zone with sea anemones, barnacles, and other marvelous creatures. It really fulfilled the ecologist/zoologist in me. Parking cost $8, which I didn't feel was outrageous for a tourist. Since it is directly off a state highway, I didn't see any other parking options. Bathroom facilities were decent... it was nice to rinse the sand off in the outdoor shower area. I do recall the bathrooms had no soap or any way to dry hands... I suppose if you are at the beach then it is assumed you have a beach towel but I still found it odd. It's Cali, anything goes here :) I do hope to return one day and relax on the soft, squishy sand and soak up that warm sunshine.

Yelp
Such a great little beach away from all the crowds. Our family loves driving just a little north to get here and it's worth it. They have a large parking lot ($9) and we usually make a left at the entrance and head allllll the way to the end. There are even less people there and more parking. Plus there is an exit at that end so you don't have to funnel back to the entrance. The waters do have a bit more rocks but if you're just going to lay out it's not an issue. There are also restrooms available which make for a more pleasant experience. It's never too busy and you get a nice mix of families and people just hanging out. There are also volleyball courts just a little ways down. The lifeguards are also very visible at all times!

Yelp
If you are looking for a place that isn't as expensive to park as well as not crowded as Santa Monica or Malibu beaches, Will Rogers State Beach is a great option. I came on a Friday mid day after soccer game with one of my best friends and we found it to be less crowded and very calm compared to other local beaches. The best thing we found great was that the beach was very clean and well-maintained. Ill be back for sure :)

Yelp
Kind of a well kept secret beach in LA. Will Rogers State Beach is just a little north of Santa Monica but vastly different. It's clean, quiet, and much more peaceful. I came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon and there weren't too many people around. Parking at the lot is $9, which is a bit much, but it's worth getting away from the crowd and enjoying a nice clean beach.

Yelp
Nice dog friendly beach. Parking is $9. Not too far of a walk to the shoreline. Clean beach with restrooms.

Yelp
Whole beach wreaks like gasoline.... insane amount of tar in the sand. Got stuck to our skin and was hard to get off..... could've gone to Venice for this shiz.
