Google
The food was good at best, seemed a bit overpriced for what they gave me (see photo of club sandwich, that's a $10 sandwich). The atmosphere was fine, the restaurant was extremely clean. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Google
I try to come here every time I’m in the area for the honey stung chicken sandwich- it’s amazing. Great deal for the price! Just the right amount of spicy.

J. P.

Google
They have no real butter. Only prepackaged toxic seed oil spreads which should be illegal. Omelettes are made with only two eggs. Food quality ok. Coffee good. But there are numerous other breakfast options in the area, so I'd try one of those instead

Google
Excellent customer service and great food! I’ve been coming here since I was a student at NCCU in 2016. At the time, their good food and great prices drew me in. I graduated and moved away from Durham for a few years, but started back working in Durham about 5 years ago. I come every now and then for breakfast. The woman who usually takes the morning orders still remembers my name and always greets me with a smile :-)

Google
I got the honey stung chicken sandwich. It's frozen chicken tenders drizzled with honey. The tenders are hard and mainly breading. It's edible but unremarkable.

Google
Stopped in while my car was being serviced. Had the Belgian waffle and coffee. Coffee was just OK and waffle was tough. Even though their website says you can add blueberries, strawberries, or pecans I had to talk them into giving me a dish of only strawberries. Maybe their website isn't up to date.

Google
Service was great. It was quick, efficient, and food was delicious. Thise beer battered fries were crazy. I got a mushroom swiss, added bacon and egg. Burger was insane. Staff was very polite. Nice lunch area.

Heather Miller

Google
Pretty disappointed after reading some of the other reviews and seeing some of the other photos. The food was very bland. We got a Philly with potato salad and Greek pita with macaroni and cheese. There was close to no meat in the Philly mostly onions and peppers. The potato salad tasted like only bacon. Macaroni tasted like nothing and without the tzatziki the pita would’ve had no flavor either. There was no salt or pepper on the table. Spent about 25$ on the Philly with chips and potato salad and was not satisfied at all, the bag of chips was the best part of my meal. The customer service was very nice but we will not return.

Yelp
I haven't been here in quite some time. I normally go to another breakfast place up the street, but decided I just don't visit William's enough! I had the southwest breakfast burrito today. It's huge and delicious! Packed with scrambled eggs, sautéed onions, tomatoes, pork sausage, chopped hash rounds that add a crispness, and melted paper jack cheese, all wrapped up neatly in a warm tortilla. There's also a cup of salsa if you want. This will definitely keep me fueled up for quite a while!! The staff couldn't be more friendly and nice. Don't worry about the location either. The cops come by for breakfast and lunch so always around!

Yelp
The rain and cold helped locate a place with a sandwich and soup. This place hit the spot. Lunch was good! Turkey n swiss on rosemary focaccia bread was delicious. They added just the right amount of mayo with lettuce and tomato. I got the meal with sweet pot fries, this even came with a little side of a cinnamon spread. I didn't wait long and everything was good.

Yelp
Food service and amibiance was nice. The dining area was very clean. I'm looking forward to my next visit here.

Yelp
Highly recommend William's. Don't knock it until you try it. Speaking as someone who stops here for lunch on the regular and has tried several things from the menu, let me save you some time: you want to order the chipotle burger. Best thing on the menu, hands down. With a side of those crispy, delicious fries you're good to go! Also, the service is great and the staff are very friendly.

Yelp
Today I ordered to go for the first time- and their drive up window is extremely convenient. I ordered the Bacon lovers burger and was happy enough with the burger but disappointed that lettuce, tomato, onion, and other condiments cost extra for an already $9 burger. I also got a strawberry salad with a scoop of chicken salad for my dinner. The chicken salad was a generous portion and the salad was fresh and delicious. I'm giving them 4 because of the up charge on extras that even McDonalds puts on their burgers-- but not lower because inside the atmosphere is always pleasant and clean.

Yelp
I ate here on a Monday morning for breakfast. - There was no wait when I walked in. - This place is super cheap. My croissant sandwich with a drink and hash browns was $8! - My breakfast was excellent.

Yelp
I came here to meet my coworkers. The location is in RTP, so it's easily accessible to all especially in the middle of a busy work day. The menu has a variety of options to make everyone happy - waffles, eggs, salads, burgers, sandwiches and chicken gyros. The food is ok. Not bad, but not great. Plenty of room to accommodate a lot of people and good outdoor seating for a nice day. I wouldn't come here on my own, but it's location and diverse menu make it a good option for group meet-ups.

Yelp
Stopped going here 2 yrs ago due to ordering and them closing when i came to pick up the order, finally got my salad, 2yrs later today ordered a salad and when i got there, they claimed i didn't order it, as i was showing them the bank transaction where i had been charged for the salad, they finally found it. Not sure i will return. plus parking sucks!!!

Yelp
"Tasty, large-portion breakfasts near 54-55 corner in Durham" I came here on a weekday morning with a friend. It's May 2021, so "late COVID times"-- the restaurant did still require masks indoors based on the sign, and the staff and (few present) customers were compliant. One goes to the counter to order and then can sit. They have multiple outdoor tables, which was nice especially in the good weather. Both my friend and I ordered the spinach omelette. It came with a cup of fruit and some toast. I'm pleased to report the dish was EXCELLENT. The omelette was large, and spinach tasted fresh. The cup of fruit included hearty wedges of pineapple, cantaloupe, etc., as well as grapes-- clearly something they prepared and beyond the typical. I was also quite pleased with the service-- they were kind, speedy, and responsive. Even though we sat outside and it was counter service, they brought us the food, and even came back to check on us later and clear our table. Setting was great-- it's a spacious bright interior, and multiple small outdoor tables. Lots of easy parking, too. I recommend-- would happily come back if in this part of town!

Yelp
Love this place!! It's like a hidden gem on this side of Durham. Locally owned with delicious variety of menu options. I personally recommend the chicken salad, the chipotle chicken panini, and their burgers are so great with the *best* crispy fries on the side! Lunch gets super busy so plan accordingly!!

Aida C.

Yelp
Love Williams food and friendly atmosphere. I was surprised to find it almost empty today at breakfast.

Yelp
CALL YOUR ORDER IN!! 5stars for the food is amazing. 4stars overall because the time it takes to receive the food is always slow. The foods amazing but again the time it takes to prepare the food stinks. I only get 30 minutes for lunch. On average I wait 12 minutes for my food. That's not good when I only have 30 minutes. With the amount of cooks back there cooking it shouldn't take that long. Again the food is so good just slow cooking times. Call your order in if you can. That will take this issue from the equation.

Yelp
Love that they have a daily special and a drive through. Very yummy and friendly. Have been going for years and only have pleasant interactions. Nice "fast food".

Yelp
Breakfast here on a weekday morning. Order and pay at the counter, gather your beverages (and silverware!) and they bring it to your chosen table when it's ready. How very European! I went with the Western Omelet and it was a very big portion with tons of sausage and bacon. I ate less than half of this monster. For side, I chose the hash brown rounds, which are a similar concept to the ones at Burger King. Not that there's anything wrong with this, just be prepared for what you're getting. A huge meal, a very good price and a nice little restaurant. I'm a fan!

Yelp
Came in for lunch today with some coworkers. It was a slower process than usual getting our orders taken, but overall things were good. I love the honey stung chicken and opted for that today. I must say I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese that I ordered as a side. My colleague stated it had some spruce to it, and I would have to agree. It definitely was not your traditional Mac and cheese which I found disappointing and will not be ordering that again.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my lunch at William's and look forward to returning to try more items. I had the chipotle chicken panini, and the chicken had a nice chargrilled flavor and the fries were really tasty. My husband enjoyed his club sandwich as well. The portions are large, such that I easily could have split a sandwich with my husband. I also appreciate that they serve Cheerwine. The only negatives was that it took a long time for our order to be prepared, and while I noticed the employees being friendly to some of the customers, they weren't particularly warm to us. They had a couple of people working in the kitchen, which is visible from the dining room, and a couple of other employees behind the counter but none of them seemed to be moving with any sort of speed. So, a good place for a casual, not-so-quick bite!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Service was friendly and fast. Approach the counter, order, pay and they deliver to your table. We went for simple breakfast. It was fine. Grits were too cheesy for my husband's taste. I had the breakfast croissant - large size, flaky.
google avatar

Janina L.

Yelp
Listen!!! This is one of my favorite places for lunch . I love the pitas and my daughter favorite is the tuna on croissant .

Dan R.

Yelp
Wow, went to Williams for the first time today! Great burger and onion rings; super 1/2 BLT and Caesar salad. Very busy at lunchtime but staff are efficient and very pleasant. We will be returning here on a regular basis for lunch. Recommend highly!

Yelp
The breakfast here is pretty good. If you have a big appetite, get the pancakes. They give you 4 large and thick fluffy pancakes, with a meat and a side. It was way too much for me to eat, I could barely get through one. The hash rounds are good and so was the sausage. I've been here for breakfast and lunch and it doesn't disappoint. This is a nice diner-type place to grab a quick bite.

Yelp
i ordered from this place and my order was not what I asked for. I called in my order and picked it up. When I saw that it was not what I asked for I called back and told them. The person who answered the phone was rude and argued with me about my order, plus told me my order was perfect when it clearly was not. This person hung up the phone with out attending to the issue about my food. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. DID I SAY NEVER!

Kim D.

Yelp
I ordered a burger med well with the special sauce "ON THE SIDE" add mayo, mustard, ketchup. Was told that is what the special sauce was a mixture of. I told them I STILL wanted it on the side with the other condiments on the burger. The burger was well done, no condiments were on the burger and the sauce on the side was not there. I called to let them know that my order was wrong and the woman that answered the phone was rude and asked in the most undesirable tone " what do you want me to do ma'am" I told her I wanted my order done right. I was offered a $3.00 off next order, however that does NOATHING for me! Its the poor customer service that will keep me from returning!

Yelp
Just missed breakfast last weekend and opted for some lunch items. Bacon cheeseburgers with fries and a Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The burger was decent, not fresh ground but stacked with fresh toppings of bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion (I like having a salad on my burger!) my daughter loved her Buffalo chicken sandwich, the chicken breast was ample, nicely coated and cooked with a good amount of the sauce. Fries were crispy and seasoned well but a lot went to waste since the sandwiches were so filling. This day they had issues with their credit card machine, hubby had to go to an ATM. Hopefully not a regular occurrence here.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Second time eating in. The decor can be updated as it is not pretty to look at but it's clean enough to eat inside. Food was nice and hot. They brought it to our table. Big sized portions.

Yelp
Every other Tuesday, "Tasty Treat Tuesday" is what my coworkers and I wake up looking forward to. This week, my office catered hundreds of parfaits for our staff, courtesy of Williams Gourmet Kitchen. Prior to this, I had never heard of the establishment. The parfaits were plentiful and had just the right amount of granola and fruit. What's also striking is that WGK uses real yogurt and not the super sugary kind. It was delicious. Looking forward to visiting the actual restaurant and trying more of their menu out!

Yelp
I discovered this gem because of how close it was to my previous job and it is amazing. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. Their breakfast is SO good. Their lunch is amazinggggg. I love their salads and Mac n cheese. They're really busy during the week but food comes out super quick. You get a good amount and their prices are great. Highly recommend this place to others!

Yelp
Cafe Chicken Salad - $6.99 for house made chicken salad with alfalfa sprouts, green leaf lettuce, and vine ripe tomatoes on a buttery croissant. Huge sandwich! Have to really squish the sandwich in order to bite into it all! I like sandwiches that include alfalfa sprouts - they look like weeds but it's a unique addition that makes sandwiches more fun to eat. Everything in it tasted very fresh. The croissant was not too buttery but still soft. The chicken part of it is a spread, much like the kind that comes in a can at Costco, resembling a tuna sandwich. Red Velvet Cupcake - delicious, moist, and bigger than the size of my fist! French Toast - 3 slices of cinnamon swirls toast with powdered sugar and choice of hickory smoked bacon or sausage. Looks burnt and maybe tastes burnt as well (I'm not sure since my aunt ordered this and I didn't try any). Unattractive. Plus the slices are on the thin side, especially considering it's supposed to be French Toast. This place is located right off the highway with a decent amount of parking in the lot. It's a hot spot for police - in fact, there's a sign that describes their support of the police force in the area [and you thought police only eat donuts with coffee!]. Orders are made much like at a McDonald's, in which you choose an item off the overhead menu and it is ready in a short amount of time. Biggest difference is that it's much cleaner than a typical fast food place, and the items are not nearly as tiny, greasy, and unhealthy.
google avatar

Tamara S.

Yelp
Not really that good. I came here because of the 4 star rating and reviews and left severely disappointed. I ordered the honey stung chicken sandwich but what I got was what tasted like a chicken flavored funnel cake. Way too sweet and very soggy. The fries had a slight taste of staleness with a hint of cardboard. I threw away my entire meal after 3 bites. The only redeeming factor about this place is the staff. The food is blah.
google avatar

Yelp
I've frequented this place when we lived in Durham and my wife and I decided to go there for breakfast before heading back to Wilmington. The food and service were as good as I remember; the staff were friendly and helpful in making choices. Good food in a diner style seating area.
google avatar

Briana H. K.

Yelp
I always loved this place. The food is great! A local favorite. It's pretty packed during the lunch. The ranch is homemade and the cupcakes are from Favor Desserts right down the street and they are YUMMY!!! Get one for your to go dessert. My favorite dish is the honey stung chicken. It's savory sweet chicken sandwich and a must add - BACON! The brioche buns are great! Beware, the food does take a while to be prepped and served. If you don't want to wait call ahead and order. You also have the ability to order online. Happy hour is from 2-4pm Monday - Friday - buy a sandwich and get fries and a drink for $1.49! Can't beat that deal. Prices are not too steep. Average $7.50 for a chicken sandwich. Average $6.50 for a huge breakfast plate. The breakfast platter is great! Tasty and you get large portions. Over all this is a great local stop is you are in the Durham area, close to Southpoint right off of the highway.

Yelp
Stopped by this hidden gem for lunch. Great chicken sandwiches and oh so yummy sweet potato fries with an amazing addicting cinnamon-infused dip for the fries.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
The food here is pretty good, it's a little pricey but the portions are decent. The hours are only for breakfast and lunch, so check hours before going. I recommend the chipotle chicken panini with the battered fries! The staff that takes orders always looks like they're not happy to be at work or have an attitude. Outside of that, I recommend trying this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I try to visit William's Gourmet anytime I am in the area. They have a fantastic selection of delicious choices for lunch and my all time favorite is the Carolina Club Sandwich and the Cesar Salad. The Strawberry Pecan salad is a close second. The absolute don't miss item on the menu is there Red Velvet Cupcakes. They are the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. The staff is incredibly friendly. The restaurant is always clean and they follow appropriate Covid protocols.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't discovered this place sooner! Conveniently located at the intersection of 54 & 55, it's become a quick favorite breakfast spot for me! I've only ever had my orders to go, but always find the takeout to be good. The food does take about 15 minutes to make and comes out nice and hot. They offer online ordering, but I think it's easier to call in because the online system doesn't list all the possible options the restaurant offers. The food options here are vast, it's unlikely you won't find something you'll like! For breakfast I really like the sandwiches, I prefer it on a croissant. They can put it on a bagel too if you like, although they won't tell you that outright. The croissant is nice and flaky, bacon is crispy, sausage pattys are juicy, cheese is melty/gooey. The grits are surprisingly good too. It's not the cheapest option around especially with so many fast food joints around but I think it's worth it!
google avatar

Todd M.

Yelp
Cold greasy potatoes, bread that was supposed to be toast and a greasy omelet. Never again.
google avatar

Immanuel J.

Yelp
What a little gem. Nestled on busy 54/55 is a freestanding restaurant that combines a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with high end, yummy lunch fare. I was impressed with the appearance of the food. It looked like something off Pinterest. Beautiful buns, mounted-high burgers, and burgeoning meat fills your tray. I had the Southwest Chicken Philly. Amazing! Chicken, jalapeños, and American cheese packed between a fresh hoagie roll. I had to take half of it home. Great food, simple and satisfying atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Great for lunch! My first time and I got the Perfect Pairing: I got the Carolina Club & Santa Fe Club. It was very tasty!

Yelp
Finally decided to drop by this place after years of driving by. Looking for a breakfast joint that wasn't a chain and this seemed to fit the bill. It's a nice, bright, open space. You order at the counter and they give you a number to place at your table. The service was very nice. Maybe not the newest and shiniest space, but fits the atmosphere of a casual restaurant. They do breakfast thru dinner. Ordered the farmer's platter to get a good sample of their food. Was pleasantly surprised by the portion and first bites. Although you only get one pancake, its diameter is larger than a knife. Happy to see 3-4 full strips of bacon and sausage links. Sausage cooked through and just right with a bit of a snap. Then tried the hash which surprisingly came out as nuggets. So less "scattered" like Waffle House and more "nugget" like McDonalds. It was good and gave it a nice crunch. Bacon was also crispy without being burnt. Sadly the last two parts of the meal failed to sustain the flavors and pleasing texture of the first part of the meal. The eggs were bland and more chewy. The pancake was denser than I'd like. Overall a decent breakfast spot that delivers above the usual chains but also comes with a slightly higher price.
google avatar

Simone T.

Yelp
My friends and I came here and we got the black and blue, chicken and tuna burgers. They were just okay. My tuna burger had way too much sauce. There was slaw, mayo and sweet soy sauce, and it just completely overpowered the tuna. My friends said that they wouldn't come back again given that they can get a same quality burger elsewhere. The fries were good, but I wouldn't come back. There were also a lot of flies everywhere, which grossed me out.

Leilani M.

Yelp
The worst Belgian waffle ever! Dense. Heavy and gummy. Two dried up link sausages. Had to throw it away. Ordered fresh fruit with my waffle and it smelled like insect repellent. Also threw away. Just horrible
google avatar

Miles K.

Yelp
I think it would be helpful if they clarify it on their site that they do not serve the breakfast menu all day. Neither their hours or menu pages mention that they stop serving breakfast at 10:30AM. Food is still good hence still 3 stars. But if there was an option to give 2.5 stars, I would have done that.
google avatar

Jamane Y.

Yelp
Love the sandwiches. Turkey, Swiss on rosemary focaccia bread was fantastic. The Carolina Club was great too. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Christina G.

Yelp
My second visit, and yeah, I'm just not crazy about it. Did a turkey number the first time around, and last week I tried the chicken salad croissant. Bland. Boring. But loaded with beansprouts (which were the best part). Had to order the side separately, which will cost you another .99cents. The thing that's saving it from a "seen better" rating is the staff and --believe it or not-- the atmosphere. The folks that work there seem to always be friendly and in a pleasant mood. And on last visit, I was really digging the local artwork adorning all the walls. The outdoor seating isn't bad either. I'd say it has surprising character for a restaurant that looks like it's a reincarnation of Boston Market on the outside.

Yelp
Willim's is such a solid diner in our neighborhood. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all consistently great: food is well made and so flavorful. I've come during the workday and it gets busy but the wait is never ridiculously long. I have been really impressed with the quality of food and the prices are great!
google avatar

Lynn C.

Yelp
Have been here once before for breakfast and today for lunch. Follow the Yelp advice and beat the rush by getting there before 1130. I got the phill you cheese steak that was loaded with mean and cheese on a tasty sub roll along with their delicious fries. I struggled to eat it all but I did and it was great. Breakfast is good too. Basic but tasty and reasonable priced. Great hidden neighborhood gem.
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
How do you make butter better? At William's Gourmet Kitchen they add brown sugar and serve with some thin sweet potato fries - I recommend that you try them. I have not had a bad lunch here yet after several visits in the past few months. Williams has a simple dining area that does not seat tables more than four easily and this place gets packed for lunch. Place your order at the counter, get a number, find a seat and your food will come to the table. You will find sandwiches, wraps, burgers, soups and salads on the menu. The choices are healthy, fresh and delicious. There is always a special wrap or sandwich on the chalkboard worth checking out. Williams also serves breakfast, the Greek omelet is great.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
Whatever it was I had here - a turkey club, a chicken salad sandwich, honestly I don't even remember - was just fine. The real draw is the incredibly awesome retro "Eat Here" sign, about which Kevin K. waxed poetic for a solid five minutes, no exaggeration. Mike. V. eats here with disturbing regularity, and built up expectations about the "awesome" story behind that sign... which turned out to merely be that the owners recovered it from someone who was gonna throw it out anyway. Their trash, our treasure.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on the way to the RDU airport on our way back to California! Delightful! Seems to be a chain but it's not! I got the turkey Reuben Wednesday special and modified it a little bit. That was no problem! The sandwich was full of flavor and very filling for $6.99. My mom and sister both got the Perfect Pair dish with half and half sandwich and salad. One was chicken salad sandwich and Caesar salad and the other was a honey ham sandwich and southwest salad. There was plenty of food for them too! We came around 1:30 and it seemed to be on the thick of a lunch rush despite being later! We had no trouble, as we walked right in and ordered!! We loved the food and would come back here! Great value!

Yelp
My first time at this restaurant recommended by a friend and most likely, I'll not return. Their menu is interesting, but nothing really gourmet about it. Similar to most lunch places around town. Some nice salad and sandwich options, but definitely not gourmet. I found the people taking orders at the front counter to be rude and lacked basic customer service skills. After the people in front of me placed their order, I walked up to the register to place my order and the woman looked at me and without saying a word just walked away. There was a line of people behind me and no one behind the counter seemed in a hurry or to be bothered to provide service or any direction (it was early lunch time). Finally, I looked past the large cookie display to see a woman standing behind a register. I asked her if I could place an order and she simply said, 'Yes'. Why in the world would she not have looked for guests waiting to order and said something? Really lame counter service. The food arrived in a timely manner and was beautifully presented. I ordered a salad, but it was no better or worse than any other chain restaurant I've visited. Not impressed, definitely not gourmet - I would not make this a high priority to dine at this restaurant again.
