Behind the Books at Denver International Airport's Speakeasy

"This airport outpost recreates a bookstore-speakeasy experience near Terminal A gate 38, where guests enter through a book-fronted fake door into a cozy bar with views of aircraft and a “take one, leave one” shelf of books. Operated by Mission Yogurt, it closely follows the Highlands original in both hospitality and menu, offering deviled eggs, frog legs, bone marrow and an acclaimed burger with crispy fries dressed with aioli and a malt vinegar gastrique. Breakfast and brunch choices run from Hawaiian bread French toast topped with coconut, pineapple and hot honey to a range of breakfast sandwiches (vegan to bodega-style chopped cheese), plus Colorado staples like a green chili–smothered burrito and cotija-topped chilaquiles. Cocktails (and breakfast booze) are a highlight — guests can order classics like Bloody Marys or Espresso Martinis, or indulge in award-winning specialty drinks such as the Blackberry Sage Smash (made with Woody Creek Rye) and the Great White Buffalo (Zubrowska Bison Grass Vodka, Licor 43, grapefruit, lemon, Chinese five spice) — while nonalcoholic “temperance” riffs like the My Bitter Clementine (Earl Grey, clementine shrub, Giffard Aperitif, lemon) offer creative alcohol-free options. Proprietor Sean Kenyon’s third-generation bartending pedigree and a focus on consoling, attentive service anchor the airport experience." - Cynthia Barnes

We liked it! Been to original W&G a while ago, and found the airport one a cool spot to hide and forget about the upcoming travel. We were happy with pesto pasta and a burger. The latter felt like fast food but in a good way - how fast foods should actually taste - nothing fancy, lots of cheese, just good! Since I am gluten free, they adjusted my fries to avoid malt and gave me an Udi bun which was much better than the Udi I usually buy... (research to be done!). Good drink.

I had the best experience at Williams and Graham at the Denver Airport! I’m a Denver local and have been lucky enough to go to the original location; I’m happy to say that the drinks, service, and atmosphere are just as amazing here as the original! My bartender, Erik, was a joy. He was incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to cocktails and gave me great recommendations. I enjoyed deviled eggs and a DELICIOUS spinach strawberry goat cheese salad. My flight was delayed, so I spent a good amount of time here… and all if it was wonderful. Almost forgot I was at the airport! I can’t wait to come back soon and try more drinks and food and visit Erik!

Google
Words don’t describe how awesome of an oasis and hidden gem Williams and Graham is for a weary traveler. If you want a proper journey to satisfying your taste buds and libation interests, sit at the bar and Eric will be your guide and he will take you where you need to go and leave you satisfied and ready to return for more. Can’t say how much I appreciate the stellar service of all of the staff here including Eric and I’m proud to make this my oasis anytime I pass through Denver international airport. Also r he frog legs are out of this world trust me! You won’t want to order just one order 🐸🥃

Google
Currently sat in the bar now enjoying the fabulous service from our lovely waiter Joe. Nothing is too much for him. The music is fab and has us singing along. We shared a burger and they cut it for us before it even arrived which was a thoughtful touch. The cocktail was lovely and fresh too!

Google
Pricey but worth it! This is a cute and fun idea for an airport. Let’s be real, anything in the Denver airport is going to be overcrowded and you’re gonna get mediocre (at best) service and food. But Williams and Graham is a little hideaway with great vibes, and such good cocktails. Everything for the drinks is made fresh. My bartenders name was Passion and she was truly incredible. Great service provides so much value. I had the deviled eggs and a Pisco sour. Both were great options. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Cute speakeasy in terminal A! We split the burger and deviled eggs and both were excellent! The malt flavor on the vinegar was delicious. The deviled eggs had bacon and green chili on top that added a little something extra. Service was friendly and attentive and helpful when suggesting cocktails from the bar. My only recommendation would be to start stocking Diet Coke for travelers who don’t want to drink!

Google
Hear me out... Denver Airport has to be top 10 in the US. There's a speakeasy in the Airport.... It opens up around 7am. You can get breakfast with a drink. Service was amazing and helpful. Food and drinks was fantastic.

Google
What a fun spot to sneak away from the hustle and bustle of a busy airport for a relaxing vibe. Fun food choices, high-end cocktails, and comfortable seating. It's a small seating but you'll be seated when you arrive and place your name on the list. Check it out when you arrive early or have a long layover in DEN!

Yelp
Cool concept, great music/vibe, fun drink menu, food available, quality service. Will be back!

Yelp
Had a delay and have wanted to check this place out, did not disappoint. The team was great... props to Sam S, Passion and Nate!

Yelp
All the magic of a speakeasy, but the warmth and hospitality of Cheers. Travis is the man. * Great conversation * All staff was amazing warm, welcoming, and had me laughing. Cocktails: BlackBerry Sage Smash - legit cocktail Pour Lenore - stand out. Unique flavors and well balanced Food looked amazing.

Yelp
Airport travelers -- STOP AND READ THIS! If you're flying through here, do yourself a favor and find Sam G and Travis. Hands down the best bartenders in the entire airport. Honestly? Sam G might be the best in the whole city. He asked what I liked, crafted a custom drink on the spot, and it was unreal -- truly one-of-a-kind. Then he asked my name and decided to call it "The Auston." I'm 40 years old and this is the first drink ever named after me... bucket-list moment unlocked. Food: I ordered the Chorizo Breakfast Hoagie and it was insanely delicious. Loaded with flavor, slight toast to the bread, perfectly balanced, and destined to knock me right out on this flight in the best way. Atmosphere: Come on... it's a speakeasy in the airport. What more do you need? Skip the other spots. I'll walk terminals on terminals just to come back here. Absolute gem.

Yelp
I had only a short wait outside then was brought in to stand at the waiting bar. I barely put my backpack down before they moved me to my seat at the bar. It's a small establishment but nice finishing and mood. The music was great for the 90s baby in me (LOL). Bobby the bartender remembered my name and was kind and attentive. I told him things I like to drink and he made the best Bee's Knees I've had in a long time. I wanted to just chill and read so he knew my vibe while he could tell others wanted to chitchat more. Just a good dude. They had a special of wings that night off menu that smelled good but I got the gnocchi...green chili gnocchi that was a little crispy. It was so good and could definitely cost more than they charge. All the hosts and staff were great.

Yelp
I felt so at home in this cozy, calm bar. I was fully expecting a long wait due to the hectic holiday travel weekend, but wandering by, I could only see a handful of people waiting. I put my name down, and was called in within 15 minutes. From the hostess to the staff person who walked me to my seat, to Erik tending the bar, the staff truly made the experience feel like I wasn't 8 hours into a travel day. They were personable, friendly, and it felt like they cared that you were enjoying yourself. They were conscientious of my time, and even confirmed when my boarding time and how far my gate was. There was even an area to tuck your bags so they weren't tripping hazards. I stopped myself at one cocktail (Spanish Revival, chefs kiss - so refreshing, citrusy, aromatic, and utterly unexpected at an airport, though expect airport prices) and one dish (Big Sauce Green Chili Gnocchi - flavorful, gnocchi were deliciously chewy, and I would've been happy with the chili in a bowl all on its own). The dishes around me also looked really well done; you probably can't make a bad choice at Williams & Graham. I hope my luck holds out and I can find myself back here soon.

Yelp
I was sitting in the airport when I saw this amazing looking bookshelf, and of course me being the nosy character that I am walked right over and realized that it was a speakeasy. This was my first time going into a speakeasy, and I love the fact that they greeted me by name. I got a drink, which was really tasty and I definitely encourage you to check it out.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Friends and I are big fans of the original location so this was a must try for me. The drinks are priced as expected and taste equally as good! The service was decent, but make sure you leave enough time for your cocktails to be made and drank since they are craft cocktails. I enjoyed an espresso martini and it was delicious!! Overall, I was happy with the experience and will return!

Yelp
Cool little "speakeasy" in the airport! We only had to wait a few minutes before a table was ready. We ordered a couple cocktails and the malt fries to share. Blackberry sage smash was very tasty. Our waitress was very easy going and attentive. Good to have especially at the airport!

Yelp
When I told my daughter that I was going to attend the National Safety Congress tradeshow in Denver, she sent me a reel / IG story about a speakeasy in the Denver International Airport. I must have watched it a couple of times to make sure I knew how to get there and was planning to visit upon flying back home. I had a great visit to Denver, finally attended the NSC, and we got to DEN early, but the guys wanted to go to the Amex lounge. - Boo and way overpriced, especially as I was a guest, and it cost $50 for me to sit there. When the fellas noticed that they had to get going, I replied, " Why? Our flight isn't until later", to which they said, " You're not on the same flight with us to Seattle?" I played the role and said that I must have made a mistake in booking my return flight, all the while knowing that I had just enough time to book it from Terminal C, take the train to Terminal A, and hustle my way to Gate 38. I said goodbye to the fellas and started my journey to Williams & Graham. I found the bookstore with a very nice young woman situated behind an enormous cash register from days long past. I patiently waited until she was done talking to a guest on the phone, and she took my name down, and I was hopeful that she was going to press a couple of the big buttons on the cashier for some magical moment, but that did not happen. I sat in one of those horrible airport chairs and waited for my name to be called. About 10 minutes later, she called my name, asked what book I wanted to read, and before I got the chance to reply, she pulled one book and opened the door to the bar space. So cool. It was private, had nice lighting, and a friendly atmosphere. What I really liked was the dedicated space for luggage and bags. One thing I really dislike about having a drink at a bar, pub, or restaurant is the lack of bag storage. Not an issue here. Bobby was very friendly and professional. I was torn between two drinks and was recommended to have the Spanish Revival. That was an excellent recommendation, so much so that the young woman to my left saw me leave my body in a moment of bliss when I tasted it that she ordered one for herself. There were some interesting items on the menu, but the All-Day Breakfast caught my eye, and when I read vegan breakfast sandwich, the ticket was punched and I was all-in. I enjoyed the Spanish Revival and my vegan breakfast sandwich, and quite honestly, the entire Williams & Graham experience was 10/10 off the charts good. It was a fitting end to a work trip and worth every penny. Not sure when I will connect through Denver next, but when I do, I will factor in some additional layover time for a Williams & Graham visit.
google avatar

Keilani S.

Yelp
This was my 3rd or 4th time at DEN on a layover and each time I passed by this speakeasy, the wait was way too long for my layover time. This time, I had a 3 hr layover so I decided to get added to the waitlist which took about 30 mins. Decided to try the bone marrow since that's pretty unique to have at an airport. It was pretty good with the fries as well and very filling. The espresso martini was also excellent. Sat at the bar and service was pretty friendly. Idk if I'd come again though because of the wait for seating.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been to the original Williams and Graham and love the concept. The idea of a speakeasy at the airport sounds fun UNTIL the host/hostess makes you wait for a while to be seated even though there is plenty of seating inside. I don't know if it is part of their plan, but people need to get on a plane. They don't have all day to wait to get in to a speakeasy that takes a while to make craft cocktails. Our flight was delayed and so we figured we had time to check out the new location. I walked up to the host stand and the lady asked how large our party was, what everyone's name's were and when our flight was leaving. She said it would be a 10 minute wait, I said no problem since my friends were down the walkway at the Sky Bar. I told her I was going to grab them and be back in 10 minutes. We arrived and she made up wait another 10-15 before escorting us in. Not sure why they make people wait, but the airport isn't the place for it. She sat us in a booth that was rather small. If we were asked we would have preferred to sit at the bar, which had plenty of space. Our server came over and asked for our IDs. We handed them to her and asked why they don't card at the door. She said it is the law to be carded by the actual person serving you. If that was the case then every bar downtown Denver is out of compliance because the bouncer/host always cards before letting you in, but whatever. We each ordered our cocktails. It took a bit for them to be made. There was only 1 bartender that I saw and craft cocktails take a while to make. All of our drinks arrived and were gorgeous and delicious. The price is a bit high, but I get it, you are also paying for the ambiance. All in all, I think it is a cute idea. Just not sure how often I would be going due to time.

Yelp
A friend had told me about this establishment, and luckily I had a trip planned a month later and was able to check it out. When I arrived, I was told there'd be a 45-minute wait--fortunately, that turned into just 10 minutes. Everyone I encountered was friendly and accommodating. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which was tasty, though a bit on the pricey side--but hey, it's the airport, so that's expected. I also tried the French onion soup, but I wasn't a fan. It had some sort of protein in it that tasted off and overly salty. I brought it to their attention, and while they did offer to replace it, the menu was so limited that there wasn't anything else I wanted. Surprisingly, they didn't comp it or offer anything to make up for it, which was disappointing. It's located next to gate A38 at DIA. As for the ambiance--it's marketed as a speakeasy, so I expected a 1920s Prohibition vibe. Instead, the staff was dressed in Hawaiian shirts. Ha! *** One plus: they do offer a military discount, which is always appreciated.

Yelp
One of the coolest airport spots I've ever seen. You put your name down for a 15-20 min wait, possibly longer at times, and they open the bookshelf for you to enter a dimly lit, adults only, fine dining and drinking establishment. Service and setting was unbelievable. Must've had 5 people help me. Chorizo Mac and cheese was excellent.
google avatar

Derek W.

Yelp
Williams and Graham is a unique Speakeasy in the Denver International Airport, Concourse A near Gate 36. We only had to wait a few minutes and we were taken back behind the bookcase to a great booth with plenty of room. The interior is very Speakeasyesk...dimly lit with smaller laps throughout. We did not have any food although there are plenty of options - we had drinks. I ordered the Pour Lenore which was delicious! The drinks are typical of the prohibition era but with unique twists I have not seen at other speakeasy's. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a cool environment within the airport!

Yelp
Nice quiet bar hidden in terminal A. Looks like a bookstore! Great espresso martini and salad. Highly recommend seeking out this gem if in Denver Airport
google avatar

Amber N.

Yelp
Randomly came across this fun establishment during a layover. Had to wait less than 5 minutes. Digging the speakeasy at the airport. Excellent selection of drinks. If you have time to kill, check it out!
google avatar

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Stopped while waiting for our flight to board. Right next to gate A38. Our bartender Passion was wonderful. Made the perfect dirty martini with a huge green olive garnish. My husband had the Mac and cheese and said it was okay. I had the French Onion soup that was delicious. Lots of shredded beef and onions.
google avatar

Yelp
Worth the wait and could not recommend Williams & Graham in the airport enough! Was on the hunt for some good food, good drinks, and a place to hang out while waiting for my red eye and sure enough, Williams & Graham fit the bill. Ended up only waiting about 35 minutes for 2 and what a cool interior. Loved the bookcase entrance and the vibes inside. Our server was incredible. Not only was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu, their recommendations were spot on. The cocktails are spectacular here but the star of the show in my opinion was the bone marrow. Bone marrow in the airport? For a reasonable price? The gnocchi were also so tasty and loved the brussel sprouts. Quite a unique experience at an airport speakeasy and would go back in a heartbeat!

Malcolm M.

Yelp
If i could give 6 stars i would. The drinks were amazing, the staff was as professional as they come, and the ambiance really made my stay at the denver airport memorable. From the host stand to the exit door, a fantastic, 11/10 experience. Thank you Mr. Host (i didnt catch your name im sorry), eric, and grace for a wonderful layover. If you have 20 mins to spare, its well worth it. Tip your bartender!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Sam G makes a perfect Manhattan! Perfect pit stop at DIA for a breakfast of champions :)
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! Got the bone marrow and goat cheese salad and both were delicious. The drinks were okay; nothing to write home about but I'd come back solely for the food. A little on the pricey end but if you have some time to kill before your next flight, this is the way to go! They also limit the number of people inside; unlike other restaurants in the airport so it's definitely a more relaxing enjoyable setting
google avatar

Yelp
Zelda was amazing! If you are lucky enough to get her, you will not be disappointed with her high caliber presence and service. Highly recommend sneakin' through the wall of books.

Yelp
Outstanding Service !Bobby & Erik Deserve a Raise! If you're lucky enough to have Bobby and Erik behind the bar, you're in for a great night. From the moment we sat down, they made the entire experience feel personal remembering names, drink preferences, and keeping the energy fun without missing a beat. Bobby mixes a drink like a true professional balanced, smooth, and always served with a smile. Erik brings that effortless charisma and keeps the whole bar laughing while still delivering flawless cocktails at lightning speed. Together they're a powerhouse duo the perfect mix of skill, personality, and genuine hospitality. They don't just serve drinks; they create an experience. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every pour and every interaction. Can't recommend them enough they make this place the spot to be.
google avatar

Trent W.

Yelp
By far the best airport bar I've been to. Such a thoughtful and curated menu and liquor selection. Erik was top notch in service and mixing. The rum punch and Negronis he made were INCREDIBLE. He took his time with each guest finding out what they liked and made the experience so personable. 10/10
google avatar

Joe U.

Yelp
I've been coming to the DEN Williams & Graham since the week they opened, and it has NEVER disappointed. I get excited for a flight because I know if I get to the airport early enough, I can get a fantastic cocktail AND the best Bone Marrow in town. There is no drink in the menu that hasn't been fantastic, and as a rum guy I can't recommend the Queen's Park Swizzle highly enough. That being said, Erick the bartender makes a rum punch with Plantaray Cut and Dry coconut Rum that should ABSOLUTELY be on the regular menu. It is amazing. If "coconut rum" makes you think of Malibu, I get it - this is t that. It's toasty and subtle and delicious. If he is here, you gotta ask for it! Honestly there are cocktails for every pallate, and the bartenders (especially Erick) are always there to make sure you get something fantastic. A+++ - I plan my travel with extra W&G time built in for a reason!

Yelp
Hell yes, best find in an airport in a while. Outpost of a popular downtown cocktail spot, great vibe hidden behind some book shelves. Zina, our server, was fantastic and made a mean cocktail. Burger and breakfast sandwich were killer too
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
Awesome hidden spot in the Denver Airport! Great drinks, good food, and a cool 1920s vibe. Perfect place to chill before or after your flight. Nathan was an amazing bartender -- super friendly and knows his stuff. Quiet, relaxed, and definitely worth a stop!
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
Bobby was the best! He's a world traveler and has the humor and wit to go with it! This is the best airport experience I've ever had!
google avatar

Rob A.

Yelp
Sam G killed it. Killer cocktails and chill vibe. Also, music was great. Weezer, Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala... so good
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Nathan is amazing at attentive. Food is goodbut too spendy in my opinion. (But it's the airport so that's expected.)

Scott G.

Yelp
My go to for breakfast now despite not on my concourse. Wow! Right next to the train. Great service and food. Wickedly good. I just had the breakfast meats and they were spectacular! Bartenders were on it and friendly, this is NOT HMS airport food. Real fresh and quality stuff here. Ambiance is magical. A must visit.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
We visited the location in DIA and we were there while our 30th anniversary trip to Iceland was delayed for an "indeterminate amount of time". This place was exactly what we needed. Joe turned out spirits around in a matter of minutes. The dinks were amazing, the music was seriously second to none - we would have stayed for a Joe and the music alone the drinks and food were an added bonus! Thanks for everything Joe!
google avatar

MJ M.

Yelp
Erik and Sam were the best bartenders. They made the most fantastic cocktails catered to our tastes. Erik especially made us feel very welcome and I've recommended this WG to all my family traveling tomorrow. I'll for sure come back.
google avatar

Byron S.

Yelp
Hear me out... Denver Airport has to be top 10 in the US. There's a speakeasy in the Airport.... It opens up around 7am. You can get breakfast with a drink. It's a low key vibe, that make you forget you're in a Airport. Service was amazing and helpful. Food and drinks was fantastic.
google avatar

Linzie D.

Yelp
We frequent the W&G LoHi location often so we had high expectations and the airport location did not disappoint! Definitely the best bar in terminal A, if not the whole airport, and I'd recommend to anyone! It's not often you get a speakeasy in an airport, and this one is fantastic. Amazing food options, fantastic drink options, and the entire staff is so friendly and attentive! Marina was our server and she was the best! So friendly, fun and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again!!

Michele M.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Nathan and Larry were amazing, great espresso martini, fun atmosphere. Worth the stop!

Cassidy D.

Yelp
Sam G and Erik are amazing! Great service before my flight. Would recommend before a flight!

Eric L.

Yelp
Just had breakfast and a drink here. Nate, Sam, and Passion were my bartenders and they were great. They were always watching the customers and constantly asking if we needed anything. I had the Irish coffee and Aloha French toast. Drinks were delicious and food was good. Nice spot to relax without buying an airline lounge membership. Can get a little noisy at times from other patrons. Would recommend for a spot to grab a drink that is close to gates.

April T.

Yelp
Erik was friendly, funny, attentive, and makes a delightfully spooky espresso martini! Fantastic experience, great ambiance, caring, knowledgeable staff and will be back next time I fly out of concourse A at DIA!! 10/10

Laura K.

Yelp
A hidden gem everyone should experience if given the opportunity. From start to finish, everything was absolutely top-notch. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and my server, Erik, was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The food arrived quickly and was nothing short of amazing. Even the music hit all the right notes. You truly can't go wrong here--don't hesitate, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
What a fun place with a great vibe! Joe took care of us & was amazing. You won't regret finding this hidden gem.

Liliana M.

Yelp
We stopped by during a layover and our bartender Erik was amazing! He recommended a fantastic cocktail and was super friendly and attentive. The vibe of the place is great and the food is good as well - we shared the burger and fries. Thanks for a great experience!

Brian R.

Yelp
Erik is an immediately welcoming presence. He is more than willing to recommend food and cocktails from the menu as well as making recommendations based on your taste. This was my first visit to W&G and it has made a lasting impression. I will be sure to return next time I am in DIA. Erik deserves a raise and his take on rum punch should absolutely be on the menu!

Jeff G.

Yelp
We were on a pretty short timeline. The queue was a bit long, but not terrible. Eric took care of us in an extremely timely manner. My wife wanted a scotch - peaty and preferably islay. His suggestion NAILED it! She left so happy. Now, me? I can be a bit eccentric and snobby when it comes to my Martini.... Sapphire up - old school - plenty of vermouth, stirred, two olives. Again he crushed it!! It is a cool place, comfortable and just plane groovy. Next time we have a decent layover, this will be our stop.... even if we are not going to be in concourse A. He'll, I might well make sure we have a longer layover to ensure we can make it and try the food, too!!

Alex P.

Yelp
Erik made great drinks and our flight being delayed didn't matter. 10/10. Loved the burger.
google avatar

Bobby H.

Yelp
A great time while on delay!! The bartenders are so attentive and made my otherwise bad day into a fantastic one! So do yourself a favor and go sit at their bar! Erik is the Best!

Yelp
Cool gem.. good drinks, food, and atmosphere. And Allison was a pleasure to be served by.
