"This rustic barn turned tasting room, museum and shop highlights Tasmania 'sapple- andcider-producing heritage, while also serving as the home of Willie Smith’s Organic Cider and Charles Oats Distilling. It offers a delicious food menu, too, featuring the stars of southern Tasmanian produce (Huon cold-smoked salmon, Spring Bay mussels, Summer Hill bread) plus cider pairings. A hive of activity year-round, the Apple Shed really heats up in the Austral winter, when you can sip spiced cider (Willie Smith’s Original plus ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and pimento) during live music on Fridays as well as the first Sunday of the month. Better yet, come for the Huon Valley Mid Winter Festival: a pagan-inspired weekend of music, merriment, and wassailing—scaring nasties out of the orchard to ensure a bumper autumn crop."
A gorgeous family-run business that only serves ciders but the best apple pie in town!!!
We came for breakfast and ordered the Smashed Avo and Cinnamon French Toast. Both were as good as their apple pie, especially the French toast. We loved everything about them.
And their tonic tea, served hot, was so refreshing!
You must visit if you are in Grove.

The traditional cider is my favourite!

Fast friendly service, great for tourists and seems popular with locals also.
My fav was the original cider but I enjoyed the whole paddle and a dark and stormy cocktail.
Grab a bargain by ordering the toastie, apple pie and cider tasting paddle deal👌

Cool place. We enjoyed a few hours on Saturday. Live music. Spacious. Nice outdoor setting . Enough place to keep kids busy.
Food tasty except the ribs. They were a bit too dry to my taste, but we still enjoyed it. I loved the non alcohol cider and the pie.

This was a huge highlight of our trip around Tassie! We wanted to do a bit of "apple tourism" and decided to go out of our way to visit this spot. The barn itself is such a cosy, warm space that feels steeped in tradition. My partner had the tasting paddle with limited-release ciders, all yummy (Kingston Black being our fave), and I had the non-alc which was very worthwhile too. The food was honestly incredible - we loved the Korean fried chicken with its warmly spiced gochujang, and the roasted cauli with its super tasty basil dressing. Ended up buying a bunch of cider to take home too!

The kitchen must be small as we were told that the food would be a 45 minute wait. The meals were good though you could only order a steak medium well. They have lots of drinks and specials.

Yelp
Good location. New owners? Food choices pretty standard. Cider a plenty good outside dining. Pretty typical sort of tourist and local place

Yelp
Enjoyed a quick visit to Willie Smith's today I had a paddle four four different ciders and it since it was a rainy day I had their potato leek soup which was a daily special.
I talked with another couple while I was there and they had a beet salad and a baked potato and apple pie, all of the food coming out of the kitchen going to other tables looked absolutely delicious
And they have a little apple history area with hundreds of varieties of apples which are grown in the area.
There is a huge area to set outside which looks wonderful on a sunny day.
Willie Smith's is set in the middle of beautiful Huon Valley It's a track they are from Hobart I had a driver but totally beautiful part of the world.

Yelp
You got to stop here, hipster vibe, great food, service excellent, and lovely selection of bevies! You won't regret it, the only draw back is so damn good, you may have to wait for a table, don't worry, they will give you a buzzer while you wait in the beer garden and sample a tester or two.....

Yelp
We took a random drive and ended up at this place where we shared a flight of cider, explored the secret apple garden, visited the apple museum and enjoyed the scenery looking at the mountains sipping on cider on the patio.
I think the outdoor area would be a very nice place to hold a larger event!

Yelp
What an absolute gem! We stumbled upon this place because the sushi place we wanted to visit was closed. It's located in a remote area off the main road and easy to spot. It was an accident that we found this destination but it was one of the highlights of my trip. Such sweet people working here, and the food is amazingly affordable compared to the rest of Tassie and Australia. The lamb was well cooked, potatoes were soooooooooo perfect - fluffy on the inside, crispy and flavorful with a wonderful red sauce on the side. The apple cider samplers and beers were light, crisp, and refreshing. I cannot rave enough about this place. When Tassie becomes more inhabited or more toured, I bet you this place will blow up! For now though, it's got a decent amount of people visiting, but it's not jam packed. Great place for lounging as well, and the decor is so fun to just observe. COME HERE!!!!!!

Yelp
What a great spot. We shared a cider tasting paddle and enjoyed apple pie and ice cream, and the toffee apple pudding with cream. So delicious!
