Lovely, but a bit difficult to navigate from this trailhead (for me; my brother-in-law and sister, though initially confused by the trailhead map, managed to direct us just fine).
I sank up to my calves in mud at least once - 'boggy' is an inadequate description. There were a couple of areas where the 'bogginess' was surmounted by the park service with tiny boardwalks. Most of the trail was absolutely fine, even a bit dusty.
Our group of 10 saw absolutely nobody else on this hike. We did it with 6 kids, who managed just fine. If I ever come back to Alaska? I'd like to mtb this.
Edit: we drove into the trailhead Google Maps recommended, the one by Flat Top Mountain (which looked so unfun...am I the only person who enjoys rolling hills, gentle inclines, and unmuddied/undusty shoes?!)
