"Best for a digital detox "Sometimes you just need to disconnect, and Willka T’ika is one of the most incredible spots in the world to do so. Located in Peru’s Sacred Valley of the Incas, near Machu Picchu and other ancient ruins, the 26-room boutique hotel is surrounded by the Andes mountains and was created in part to honor Pachamama, the Andean deity who represents Mother Earth. With such a strong focus on nature, it should come as no surprise that Willka T’ika doesn’t have TVs or phones in the rooms, and only offers Wi-Fi in designated areas—perfect for a soul-reviving digital detox. And while the property has been a staple in wellness circles since it opened in 1995, they launched a new seven-day “Essential Wellness” program earlier this year, designed to help you restore your body, mind, and soul during difficult pandemic times. Each day of the program targets one of the seven chakras, or energy centers, of the human body through traditional Andean healing ceremonies, vegetarian farm-to-table meals, immunity-boosting juices and teas, yoga, breathtaking hikes, and time spent in their beloved Seven Chakra Gardens. Don’t miss the coca leaf reading with Layka, a traditional Andean healer who’s been with the property for more than 20 years."

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Willka T’ika. I came with my husband and two (young adult) children, and we all loved it. The gardens are gorgeous, and the rooms are spacious, clean, private, and well appointed — while also blending very well with the natural environment. It was really cosy and very comfortable.||And the food! All vegetarian, all delicious, and really varied. My favorite was the pumpkin soup, which incorporated local spices and was so flavorful.||We did yoga together in the mornings, and the teacher was really knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. It was challenging and we felt great after each class.||And best of all was the staff. Everyone was warm and friendly, seemed to take a genuine interest in us, and really care that we have a good experience.||Willka T’ika was really special for us, and gave us a terrific home base to spend quality time together as a family and also as a launching point to explore the Sacred Valley. We are grateful to all the staff there!

My family and I had an incredible stay at Willka T’ika. The retreat’s location is truly remarkable as it offers breathtaking 360-degree mountain views. It’s also ideally situated as a midpoint for exploring the region, whether you’re hiking to Machu Picchu or visiting the charming town of Pisac and its ancient ruins.||The accommodations were outstanding. Our rooms were extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, and perfectly complemented the beauty of the surrounding gardens and exterior. I especially enjoyed the walks to and from my room, passing through the lush greenery and vibrant flowers.||The food was a main highlight of our stay. Breakfasts were fresh and delicious, featuring fruits and vegetables hand-picked from the retreat’s own garden. It was a special treat to enjoy tea brewed from freshly harvested herbs. Dinners were equally delightful, and desserts were a treat. ||Above all, the hospitality at Willka T’ika was exceptional! The hosts were incredibly attentive and accommodating, ensuring we felt welcome throughout our visit.||I wholeheartedly recommend Willka T’ika to anyone seeking a beautiful, peaceful, and immersive experience in the Sacred Valley.

This retreat is absolutely magical. The hospitality, food, rooms, gardens, and overall ambience made our visit tremendously unforgettable. Delicious vegetarian breakfast and dinner are included and allowed us to taste fresh offerings from the on-site gardens - which are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. In the dining room, we ate with other travelers, which was an absolute treat. We met lovely people. Also in the dining area, there was always hot water and herbs from the garden available for authentic tea. The rooms are fantastic, including wonderful showers. The rooms are clean and roomy. We stayed during the South American winter, and every night the staff placed two hot water bottles in our sheets. What a treat! Speaking of the staff, they were professional, polite, and effective. We were fortunate enough to experience the outdoor hot water baths with Jasmine and eucalyptus leaves. They were unforgettable. I really can't say enough about what a wonderful place Willka T'ika is.

The 7 day wellness retreat at Willka T’ika is an amazing experience that allows you to connect with nature and your inner self. From my room’s window I could see the mountains and the beautiful gardens designed with care and love by Carol, the owner of Willka T’ika. The hotel is minutes away from extraordinary Inca’s ruins, and is surrounded by the magical nature of the Sacred Valley. I highly recommend Willka T’ika for a relaxing stay, either if your are at the Sacred Valley for tourism or if you are looking for a wellness retreat.

100 stars if I could. What a magical experience it was to stay here!! The staff makes you feel a part of the family and are so attentive to details and each individual’s needs. The beautiful gardens, flavorful food, and incredible services Willka T’ika has to offer is other worldly. I especially recommend the Solar Bath and Hot Stone Massage. I feel grateful for my experience there! Definitely check out their shop above the dining room! All proceeds support the children’s fund + you can be decked out in beautiful Peruvian clothes/jewlery, etc.

WT is a second-generation family-owned and -operated business, but unlike many places that fit that description, it is a cosmopolitan oasis in a rural setting. After passing through a very unassuming driveway, the grounds dazzle you with a series of interconnected gardens, each more impressive than the last. The rooms are inspired and sometimes whimsical, and tap a creative well for most of the guests, who come together for communal meals that provide the opportunity to meet others without feeling intrusive. The food is excellent - don't be misled by the vegetarian label - dishes are savory, creative and filling. Every touch, from the high-grade Peruvian coffee every morning to the freshly picked herbs you use to infuse your teas, is a thoughtful and elegant approach to feeling care for by the staff, many of whom (having worked for the same family for over two decades) are extremely skilled professionals in a hospitality industry that can feel very uneven at other places in the country. Having built a culture of loyal and visitor-oriented wellness means that you will feel genuinely cared for by staff that you will come to know on a first-name basis. Staff arranged trips to Machu Picchu, trekking and visits to the ruins in nearby PIsac, and a hike to the salt mines, which were walkable from WT. You can come here without necessarily having a spiritual agenda and come away with a lovely and truly reinvigorating experience.
