"While South Africa isn’t known for its sushi, you can easily satisfy your craving in Cape Town at Willoughby & Co. The menu at this waterfront restaurant is encyclopedic—there’s everything from Boston clam chowder and spaghetti marinara to prawn curry and teriyaki chicken ramen, but sushi is the star. Try the chili-seared tuna sashimi or the tuna roll with caviar sesame seeds."
"Willoughby’s has been in the V&A Waterfront for decades, right in the middle of the action, which makes for great post-retail-therapy sushi refueling. Come here for reliable, consistent, flapping-fresh fish—whether you spring for the Cajun-style calamari, fish-and-chips, seared sashimi, spicy and creamy rock shrimp, or 4x4 California rolls, you really can’t go wrong." - Jane Broughton
What an excellent find during our visit of V&A!
I would highly recommend if you love sushi and/or freshly prepared sea food. Our server was amazing and really went out of her way to recommend to us the best meals. The juice too was fresh and the sushi was fantastic.
We also loved the deli inside which was stocked with condiments and fish from all over the world. Perhaps not so important, but I personally liked that they had live tv where I could follow F1.

We had a celebration lunch at Willoughby & Co. and it was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed some sushi and seafood, and every dish was fresh and delicious. The service from Joel was lovely & friendly, attentive and kind. They even brought us complimentary wine while we waited, which was such a generous touch. The whole experience felt special and made our celebration truly memorable.

Outstanding sushi, we enjoyed every bit of it. The chicken teriyaki was also delicious. The mille feuille dessert is also totally worth it.

The food is amazing, and the staff is always friendly and professional. I just wish it weren't so noisy, and that we didn't have to sit so close to other diners.

This is the best sushi restaurant in Cape Town, without a doubt. It’s my absolute favourite and somewhere I always make a point of visiting whenever I’m here. The quality is incredible, fresh, beautifully prepared sushi with excellent value for money. The hot dishes are just as good, which makes it even better. Consistently amazing every time.
