After hearing so much about Willoughby, I finally decided to brave the queue. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. While waiting, I felt overlooked and uncomfortable, as though I didn’t quite fit the mold of the regular clientele.
Once seated, we waited 15 minutes before our server, Kevin, arrived without any introduction or welcome. He took our order silently and never returned to check in. Our table also remained uncleared for quite some time.
Maybe he was having a bad day?! I’m so sorry?!
The sushi was decent, but certainly not on par with the hype. Overall, the experience felt more about maintaining a status image than providing memorable service or food. I don’t plan on returning.
Our 4 year old had queen prawns, it was very basic with minimal flavour, and the wedges were dry.
My husband and I both had 5x5.. nice.
