"After a long day of hiking in Big Bend National Park or a float down the Rio Grande River, there’s no better place to hang your hat than one of Willow House’s concrete casitas. A true labor of love, the proprietor spent years sourcing building materials that complimented the desert terrain and added personal touches, like works of art by her grandfather and dishes by a local ceramicist. Listen to the coyotes howl as you enjoy a Ranch Water on your private patio or stake out a hanging bed for a front-row seat to the magic that is the Milky Way. If you don’t feel up to cooking, the nearby Starlight Theater Restaurant & Saloon has cozy booths and award-winning chili (which, if you know anything about Terlingua’s annual cook off, is saying something)." - Tommie Ethington

This vacation rental far exceeded our expectations. The entire property had a pleasant aroma, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The pictures don't do it justice - the actual space is even more beautiful. The main house was perfectly designed for cooking and relaxation. We loved the thoughtful touches, including a cozy fireplace, a selection of books, and a curated music collection. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials and more. The pool was a highlight, with cool and clean water that was perfect for refreshing dips. The interior design struck a great balance between curated and minimalist, adding to the property's charm. We'll definitely be coming back!

This Casita hotel is incredible! Each Casita's porch faces the desert, making each very private. Small, but beautiful rooms appointed with nice bedding and decorated to fit in to the desert. There is a main house guests can use that has a full kitchen and BBQ grill. There is also two outdoor showers guests may use. Our only disappointment with our room was that the mattress was very soft and not supported well. Would have also loved more comfortable outdoor chairs to watch the night sky with. Other than that, fabulous, and will definitely be back!

This place far exceeded our expectations. The pictures don’t do the property enough justice. In the main house, everything for cooking and relaxing was well thought out. All the cooking essentials are there, plus some. The pool was surprisingly cool and the water smelled…pleasant…. The interior design feels curated yet minimalistic. We will definitely be coming back

We traveled with 24 members of our extended family and spent 3 magical days at Willow House. The design of the casitas and the main house is perfection with luxury amenities and surrounded by the beauty of the desert. We cooked and ate meals together, did yoga in the morning and hiked at Big Bend National Park in the afternoon and after sharing a fantastic homemade meal under the stars each evening, finished our day sitting around the fire pit until it was time for bed. Our stay was restorative, fun and will always be a special place for our family!

When we booked I had hopes of it meeting our expectations which it did. I did have a few concerns with the home. We couldn’t check in after 4 which is fine because hotels normally check in at 3. When we arrived to our destination it was super pitched black we couldn’t find our casita. We had to use our flashlights from our phones to find our house. Also we couldn’t find any parking so we just parked where we thought would be ok to park. We decided to go out for some dinner and I had turned up our heater up due to it being super cold when we got back from dinner it was super chilly inside our home and it was never warm inside. Overall I think it is overpriced pricey for it being just a small house with no kitchen inside the little home. Next time I will be staying elsewhere. You can find better deals with a kitchen inside and a air conditioner that works well!

The Willow House is a desert oasis in every sense of the word. My daughter and I stayed for one night during a trip to Big Bend and we were completely blown away by the beauty and tranquility of Willow House. Our room was serene, the bed was soft, the shower was hot -- everything was exactly as it should be. The Main House was also spectacular! A huge shared kitchen and multiple dining areas + hang-out zones. The attention to detail was incredible. They have truly thought of everything! The pool felt amazing after a long day of hiking, and stargazing from the hammock bed was a definitely a highlight of our trip. I also want to mention the excellent communication. When I reached out to see if we could check in an hour early, Molly quickly replied and let us know that it was a busy day for the housekeeping staff but we were welcome to use any of the common spaces. Our only regret was that we couldn't move in.

Willow House is one of the most magical experiences of my life. My partner and I went on a Texas trip--stopping in Marfa and then driving to Willow House and had the most amazing time. We stayed in the proprietors casita, which was one of the most well-designed, warm and beautiful places we have ever stayed. In fact, the place is so gorgeous that we asked to be put in touch with the designer/owner so that we could hopefully work with her as we build our own home. The hotel managers were lovely and gave us incredible recommendations. Sitting outside in the morning and looking at the terrain with a cup of coffee is unparalleled. The pool area is gorgeous. Lastly, the communal hang out room/kitchen is not only gorgeous but also has a friendly vibe. We had the best time at Willow House and would absolutely 100% return.

I had the pleasure of spending a week at Willow House as an artist in residency this summer. It was absolutely fantastic. I would explore Big Bend national park in the morning and work on my art practice the rest of the day. All of us artists gathered in the main house for happy hour and dinner. It was the perfect blend of alone time and camaraderie that this property encourages. The pool was amazing too! It was perfect for lounging in the afternoons. I can’t wait to go back - Terlingua has so much to explore. The natural beauty of course, but also a quirky culture and incredible history and prehistory. Thank you Willow House for giving artists the opportunity to create in your space!

Yelp
The view is breathtaking and I'm glad they added the little pool to the property. It's actually pretty deep. This was a great way for me to recharge from work cause I was over it.

Yelp
I went to a wedding at Willow House and it was beautiful. The casitas are well appointed and well designed, and the view is incredible. In rough and tumble Terlingua, Willow House feels more like Marfa, and the vistas look out into Big Bend, with tons of ocotillos and lots of open space. Really beautiful place and a good setting for a wedding. I didn't get to stay here, but the rooms looked really nice - a much fancier respite from the desert than other hotels in Terlingua.

Yelp
I never experienced such a cool stay before. This place is definitely in the middle of nowhere near Big Bend. I highly recommend anyone staying here. My spouse and I went with another couple and truly fell in love with the room and outdoor desert. The compound has I think ten rooms or maybe more and then a huge common area with a huge kitchen. They have large bbq to share. I loved the fire pit area. We got really lucky and had the owners sister staying at one of the rooms. She had tons of friends and I think was celebrating a birthday. They had the cutest little pup that just free ranged around the compound. They were all so kind and offered their food to us. The manager gave us such amazing recommendations for hiking spots in Big Bend Park. The two guys who own Reese's bros bbq were apart of the group and they cooked up some good food. They offered us some and I fell in love with the butter tortillas! The rooms itself were very clean and the sheets were such a nice linen material. All of the product were high quality. We fell in love with the shampoo and conditioner so we went home and bought the same brand. If you are looking for a nice luxury stay under the stars this is the place to be!
