Willy's Wings

I went here every day, multiple times a day (literally - pregnancy cravings... EVERY DAY), when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2000. The owners ran in then and told me if my baby was born a boy, I had to name him Willy, and a girl Wilma because that baby was going to be born a chicken wing. I haven't been in about a decade because I moved to the East Coast, but had to check it out when I visited Denver. It hasn't changed, except I didn't see the owners. I love these wings. They are crunchy on the outside, fall off the bone in the middle, the sauce has a ton of flavor and the Ranch (or Bleu Cheese) was refreshing. We got the hot flavor, and there was barely any heat in our opinion, but they were super tasty. Love the food, love the staff. The building itself also hasn't changed. It's in a very small building that isn't the classiest of places, but it was clean. If you like wings, I suggest you give it a go!

From what we understand from talking to a few people on our trip to Morrison is that Willy’s Wings is a local staple. I will say the wings were cooked perfectly. I live a nice crispy chicken wing and that was the case at Willy’s. We had the two times hot wings and they were not overpowering and a great level of spice. The coleslaw is good just a bit different.

Absolutely one of the best places for wings in Denver and surrounding areas. Not only are the wings super flavorful, they are ALWAYS cooked fresh/made to order. You won’t be disappointed. If you order ahead of time, make sure to give it about 20-25 minutes unless you don’t mind waiting around for your food to be ready.

The one guy is always so angry and upset with life. Ridiculous how he acts. I feel as though if you hate your job quit. Not to mention Thursday an group of us was going here to eat. 6:40pm they locked the doors and closed. Older guy, and bold said they had things to do and they close at 7pm. Remind you, the door sign and the website both say they close at 8. Good food doesn't out weigh terrible service. Just seems like it's always a bother when you order food. Like your disrupting there day.

Great wings, my aunt told me about this place. Perfect location for hot wings, right when you first get into Morrison on your left. Eating outside is always s treat when your in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Very good service with good kick in every bite. And of course a nice walk in Morrison after dinner is always a good thing.

I'm trying to figure out what they had in their buffalo wing sauce aside from Frank's and butter but all in all, we had a great meal and the leftovers got eaten so I'd definitely go back.

I was so excited to find this spot the day before arriving. The lemon pepper wings and extra hot were perfect. Everything hit the spot really. I really came for the fried pickles and they did not disappoint. One of those hometown spots you should really hit when your around.

We were recommended by a local of Denver to go try out this restaurant. We got the lemon pepper and garlic parmesan. It was absolutely some of the best wings I have ever had. They have a notice that it’ll take 15 minutes or so to make and it was worth the wait!

These are the best wings in the front range. We've been to dozens of places and wing joint has the crispiest andmeatiest wing around. Their sauce is a perfect classic Buffalo style. Hit the spot up before you go to a Red Rocks show and you'll be thinking me later.

Ok....the wings are great! I have eaten there for many years and we make this our dinner "go-to" stop after skiing. The bad: the customer service is pathetic and always has been. They make us feel like a stranger every time we walk in....they are just lucky the wings are good. No "hello" or any pleasantry. My boys and I always joke about it before we walk in. We say, "who wants to make a bet WE have to greet them first?" The last time I ordered food an hour before the lobby closed and the lady said "TO GO, RIGHT" hoping I would order and leave. It's sloppy/messy wings...I am not eating in the car! I said I was eating-in and she appeared upset and told me to make it quick as the lobby was closing in AN HOUR. She then reminded me that I only get one free refill with the drink...thanks again! I understand bad customer service from snotty little highschoolers...but this lady is maybe the owner....and it is every time!!! If it is not her, it this skinny older guy that learned his service skills from her! The first time we went there, I showed my boys the Soup-Nazi episode on Seinfeld and they thought it was spot on. The bad part is we will be back there next week after skiing because the wings are so good. Oh, DO NOT ASK FOR CELERY...that might make national news! It is very clear that every meal comes with carrots.

Great wings, great cod, great fried zuchinni. Been going here since the 80s. Nobody has the wings, ambiance like Willie's Wings.

The best wings you will ever eat! Don't let the looks of this establishment steer you away from this amazing place! I am born and raised in Colorado and wings are one of my favorite things to eat. It is safe to say that Willy's Wings has the best wings in Colorado and I have many friends and family who would stand behind that. I typically will only eat boneless wings unless it's from here. The bone in-wings here are insane! They are decently sized with a good amount of meat and the best thing about the wings is that they are fried which makes them super crispy, juicy, and yummy! Please note that it is a small local spot so keep that in mind while waiting for your food.

Stop what you're doing and give them a try! Tucked away in the small town of Morrison a few minutes from Red Rock is this plainly decorated but pumping out delicious wings! We tried three different flavors (bbq, lemon pepper, and buffalo), and they were all amazing. The wings were cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy. Please don't neglect your tastebuds by not giving them a try!

Great wings!!! Big and meaty, very crispy, very good flavor!!! Love that they have corn nuggets! Love that they have funnel cakes! These all were awesome. Ambiance is small town vibe with patio. Quick, friendly service. Will be returning as I am in the area often!

4.5 stars. Garlic parmesan wings were outstanding - crisp and flavorful. Hot wings were good too - just regular buffalo sauce I think. The place doesn't look like much, but I don't think it really needs to. You go there to sit down and have some good wings.

Food was so yummy great wings! Nice and crispy even after they put the sauce on they are nice sized wings also! Not the small ones you get other wing places! Customer service was awesome also! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out! The deep fried mushrooms were excellent also! Yum yum all around yummy You have the choice of sitting indoors or outside! Great experience

Hands down the best wings in CO...I get them extra crispy. I've gone here for over 40 years and have never had anything but great wings every time.

excellent wings and fries here at willy's per usual... but you might eat on the patio or take your order to-go to avoid the sometimes unfriendly and unpleasant atmosphere of their cramped dining room. expect long waits and only wings on busy game days, 50/50 chance fries are on offer. if you can definitely try their onion rings and fried zucchini! staff are WONDERFUL when they aren't busy. easy to tell when the busyness gets to them however- they'll be clearly annoyed and have a "done with this" demeanor.

The Catfish ... Amazing as always! Every time we come through Denver Willys is a must!

Been getting wings at Willy's for years. Our food choices of decent takeout is very limited. Wings are tasty and they offer a great variety of wings.

Upping my review score to 5. Customer service has drastically improved this past year or so. I no longer feel like calling in to place an order is met with hostility...even though they SAY to call in your order early. :-) Wings are always great. i *highly* recommend preheating your over and dropping them in for another 5 minutes to crisp em up a bit. I like them better that way.

These are the best wings I've ever had! Everything is good here. The wings, fries, corn dogs...everything! Seems like a lot of people get wings to go, but I prefer sitting at the restaurant and eating inside or the patio it's such a great location. I love this place!

I am from upstate NY and confirm that Willy's Wings in Morrison is TO DIE FOR. These are hands down THE best chicken wings in all of Colorado. Arguably the best wings west of the Mississippi and even more so, arguably some of the best wings I've ever had. And I know all the best spots back home in Western NY. I am not kidding, this place will blow your mind. Insane wings. Incredible food. Been open since the 80's and that is really saying something for Denver, let alone the small town of Morrison. Cannot wait to be back for the hundredth time.

Upon walking in to the restaurant I was greeted with nothing but a frown and rude attitude from the cashier. Not only did she not let us know that the meal that I paid for FULL PRICE was a lunch special for $10 cheaper, but she also made sure to let us know their "99" other rules. No outside water, only 1 REFILL on their drinks they charge almost $5 for , no moving tables after sitting, etc. felt like I was in school again and couldn't even relax after almost paying $30 for a 10 wing meal. Although the wings were still good, I will not be coming here again solely because of the customer service.

I served an LDS mission in Colorado and tried Willy's Wings for the first time a few years ago during that time. Since then, Willy's has become a road trip staple when traveling through Colorado. My husband and I are moving to CO springs next week and we will be making frequent visits to Willy's. This last visit was no different, the Wings were delicious, the prices are good, the service was very good and the waitress was helpful, and the location is perfect being right next to Red Rocks park. It is a MUST GO.

Hole in the wall...but who cares! Love finding these gems! I had my two little ones with me and we were on a scouting mission. We all got hungry and I asked them what they wanted -- one said McDonald's and the other said wings! Doh...wings it is. Walked in, greeted nicely -- ordered two lunch specials, got our drinks and sat down. Wings came out fairly quick and pipin' hot! Lunch specials also come with fries so the kiddos were super happy! I ordered naked wings for them and I got hot. Definitely need to go up a level next time. Wifee was jealous that she missed out so I guess we gotta come back!

We had some friends in town and one of them wanted to have Rocky Mountain Oysters, so, we found ourselves here. There was no indoor seating, and just a handful of tables outside, which we were lucky enough to snag one of. We ordered two lunch specials of hot wings and honey BBQ wings, cheese sticks, Rocky Mountain Oysters, and fried pickles. I'd recommend if you're getting cheese sticks, eat them first unless you like them firmer, because they come out hot and melty. The wings were good. They have a few flavors like honey BBQ, mild, med, hot, x hot, xxhot and teriyaki. I'll say that the hot wings were not that hot. I'd put them at a medium, so if I go back I'd get either x or xx hot. To make the flavor a little more interesting, I dipped my hot wings in the honey BBQ sauce, and that made up for it. So we had rocky mountain oysters. If you don't know what they are, then you can look it up. It was my first time having them, and they were... pretty decent! They were very unoffensive, and had a consistency reminiscent of conch, but tenderer. I'm not sure what is customary for eating them, but I dipped mine in cocktail sauce because they're "oysters"? I'd have them again. I can't say they are my favorite thing to eat, but I've never had the opportunity before (nor had I sought it out). Willy's is a great place to get some wings. It's right across the street from Bear Creek, so you can eat by the riverside if you wanted, and the views from the patio are good. The service was fast, all of our food was hot, but if you like hot wings, get x or xx.

Me and my buddies had just gotten done white water rafting and our guide recommended the place to us. There was a hour wait but the label of "Best Wings in Denver" had my attention and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint one bit. During our wait, we stopped over at Farmhouse and grabbed a few beers and their owners were tremendous people. Sat out with us, suggested some area brews and we just talked about life. Our order of wings arrived roughly 45 mins later and the gracious owners of Farmhouse let us eat at their place. As i tasted the wings, i knew that we'd came to the right spot. As i got through my 4th wing, Willie's had crept into my all time Top 5 and trust me, it's not 5th. I'm a southerner from Mississippi. Trust me, I know food. I personally had to tell the manager there that he did us a favor by serving us and the next time I'm in Denver, it'll be my first stop.

Wings were very average. Owner is a complete crybaby and had absolutely 0 customer service skills. What happened to "the customer is always right"??? Many better resturaunts and FAR better service in Morrison. Will not be back.

They're delicious. If you're the guy who gets the hottest wings at every place and you're usually underwhelmed with the heat.... Yea you might want to be careful here. I got the XX Hot and dude.... they're hot! Maybe try the regular hot. Usually my wife can keep up with me, she didn't try these after tasting the sauce. SPICY. Can't wait to be a wimp and try their other sauces, for now, please pray for me and my bathroom activities.

The bone in wings with spicy bbq sauce were great. Boneless was meh. The xx spicy was not very spicy at all so gotta up their game there. Fries and poppers were aight. Food came pretty quick. Had some beers next door while we waited, which was convenient.

Delicious! Their hot sauce is great with their catfish. Homemade it seems. The catfish did seem a little on the skinny side but were fried perfectly.

Thought we'd call in a to go order on our way home. Half hour wait and when we received our order we decided to eat a few wings and fries at the restaurant. We had about a 15-20 minute ride home and didn't want cold fries. The fact that you berated me for not telling you we were eating a little bit there so you could have given us the proper "eat in" box was bulls@#t. I spent almost $50 and you're gonna give me sh#t cause I'm eating out of my to go box? Ridiculous! Won't see me again. You'll be like Jimmies Wings soon. Closed is what you'll be.

Went to Willy's for a quick snacks. We tried the Rocky Mountain Oysters and chicken wings. It's crunchy and taste good. Place is small. They have outdoor seating and dine-in too.

I was disappointed based on the good reviews on Yelp. The wings were fine, but the medium buffalo sauce just tasted like vinegar. The french fries were mediocre - standard Sysco-type frozen fries with no seasoning. And, the blue cheese was sort of weird; almost like they started to make ranch and switched it over.

Finally decided to give this place a try - glad I did! I got the lunch special 10 X hot wings & small fry. The X Hot was perfect amount of heat for me. Wings were crispy, delicious, and came out pretty quick. Cashier was friendly as well.

This pandemic has created a take out monster. My wife and I were on another quest to find some good wings. We decided to branch out a little and head towards Morrison. One of the best decisions we have made so far. Willy's wings is a stand out in my wing list. We ended up ordering 50 wings consisting of Honey BBQ and Buffalo. As well as a side of fries. Onto the food! The wings were absolutely amazing. Crispy, juicy and meaty. The buffalo had the right amount of spice and was generous in the amount. This was the same for the Honey BBQ. Astonishingly, this didn't overpower the overall wing taste as some sauces do. There was distinct taste of sauce and meat, both of which combined well with each other. The fries were an absolute delight. Crispy and fresh. It took about 20 minutes to get home and they were not soggy at all! Overall, Willy's Wings was an amazing recommendation. They have an amazing Tuesday special and I plan on coming back to try more flavors!

This place has the best wings around. The vibes are amazing. Family owned, Stacy is a gem and she is super sweet. Even offered to bring my food out to me when it was ready. Everything is fresh. Clean place too and great parking.

Fantastic wings, hidden gem downtown Morrison, easy to access right off c470. Biggest downfall- the staff is so hit or miss. If you walk in past 715pm, get ready to be told "takeout only", which is fine, just be nicer about it. The staff can either be super nice, friendly, or super cold and can't even say thank you back. I understand staffing is tough right now so it doesn't bother me as much but it might for others. Enjoy the wings. They are a must have!

Enjoyed our wings. Will come back. Wish we'd tried it sooner. They were doing a lot of orders on a football game day, so plan accordingly. Wings were made to order and yummy.

We tried the lunch special which included 10 chicken wings. We chose lemon pepper flavor. The wings themselves were great. The accompanying french fries were chubby and not very crisp. There are a lot of signs like "no dogs on the patio," " no outside food or drink allowed," "Bathrooms are for customers only." Those are all reasonable requests from an owner, but some of the signs were scribbled by hand and it seemed like there were lots of rules about eating here and a somewhat negative vibe about the place. The inside is claustrophobic. We ate on the patio, which was fairly nice. A refill on your soda will cost you an extra dollar. Despite the flaws mentioned and the average rating, fans of chicken wings will probably still continue to come here as the wings are unusually good.

Great wings & jalapeño poppers! Highly recommend giving them a try. I love Morrison such a great community.

The fried catfish was pretty good. Fries were standard fare, crispy and hot but nothing to write home about. The wings were average. The fried corn balls were meh. Looked like canned corn mixed with some batter and then deep fried. We ate them but wouldn't get them again. It's a little bit grungy and dated on the inside, but hey it has a functioning bathroom and both indoor and outdoor seating.

Great option in Morrison. Been around for a very long time because it's tasty. So many sauce choices. We do extra hot! Good fries too!

Wings were fat af, sauces were fire. Coulda used a ice cold beer with them but they don't serve beer, only downfall.

Overall great restaurant, the wings were amazing. Staff was helpful and not to expensive for wings. 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely be going back here.

This place makes some good wings. Their Garlic Parmesan wings were fantastic. The Teriyaki ones were okay... the sauce did not taste homemade at all. The chicken and batter was delicious, and so were their fries! The service wasn't very friendly though so that detracted from the experience a bit.

I so wanted to give this place 5 stars based on all the great reviews but I just can't. We have lived up here many years and never tried this place but based on the reviews we figured it must be amazing. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our order. Maybe we should have ordered actual bone in wings. However, we ordered boneless wings with two different sauces, onion rings and the fried fish. The fries with the fish tasted and actually looked like the frozen bags of fries you get from Sam's or Costco. The fried fish looked like it was from a frozen bag as well. I would not say this is freshly made but it's probably what you get for the price. The boneless wings seem like ground up processed chicken. The onion rings also seem like they may be from a frozen bag as well. Overall, we were very disappointed to pay $50 for basic food.

Wings, wings, wings and wings. I know, I know, it initially doesn't look like much on the outside but the wings here are absolutely top notch. I was referred here after seeing "tasty's top wings in Colorado" list. This spot made it for best "flats." Boy they weren't kidding. You can order wings by the handful, or the plate full. I went with 20 to split with bbq sauce and teriyaki. Slightly crispy on the outside, moist chicken on the inside. Way messy, exactly what you expect out of wings! If you are ever around the Morrison area for a Red Rocks concert and craving some wings, do yourself a favor and check out this spot!
