Wilpattu Tree House Hotel

Stayed at Wilpattu House Hotel for 7 days and honestly loved it. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the place is surrounded by nature and located right in front of the national park — I even saw Brown Hornbills right outside my room, which is very rare. Perfect if you want to relax, and you don’t have to travel far or line up early just to get into the morning safari. What really impressed me was the service. I’ve traveled a lot, but it’s rare to find a hotel that remembers your preferences without even needing to ask. The food was also amazing — you can really tell they put their heart into the cooking. The ingredients were fresh and very healthy (which I really appreciated after spending the whole day sitting in a jeep). Definitely recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay at Wilpattu Tree House! The rooms are super nice and comfy, offering a genuine treehouse vibe. The food was absolutely delicious! every meal was a treat. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly; they took care of arranging our safari seamlessly and even provided a packed breakfast that was both thoughtful and tasty. The location is perfect, situated right next to Wilpattu National Park. It is very quiet and peaceful, making it the ideal spot to relax and watch the sunset in the evening. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm and quiet getaway with a taste of authentic Sri Lankan food!👌🏻

An unforgettable stay right on the edge of Wilpattu National Park. The tree house offers a perfect blend of nature, privacy, and comfort, making it ideal for anyone looking to truly disconnect and experience the wilderness. Waking up to birdsong, fresh air, and views of untouched forest was a highlight. The accommodation is simple yet thoughtfully designed, clean, and well maintained, allowing you to feel close to nature without compromising basic comforts. Evenings around the campfire under a starlit sky were truly special. The hosts and staff were extremely warm and attentive, always ready to help while respecting privacy. The food was freshly prepared, delicious, and well suited for a relaxed jungle stay. Its proximity to Wilpattu made safari arrangements easy and convenient. Highly recommended for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a peaceful, off-the-grid experience near Wilpattu.

This is the third time that I visited Tree house. The main reason is that it’s a walking distance to the Wilpattu park entrance. The rest are cherries on top . The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The tree house like structure is calming and serene. Sampath and Nelson along with the rest of the crew are friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. You get the feeling of a family run hotel. As always there is room for improvement but they are not major. A bit more care to ensure small things like adequate number of towels to match the number of guests could help. But this was fixed very quickly when we asked. I will be back.

We had the most amazing time! We couldn’t be closer to the safari park, had the most amazing sunset and lovely room. The highlight however were the people- everyone went above and beyond, so kind and welcoming. Plus great cooking! Best stay in Sri Lanka!!

Our stay at Tree House Hotel Wilpattu was incredible! From the authentic Sri Lankan dishes to the warm smiles, it was local hospitality at its finest. Nelson and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—they are true ambassadors for Sri Lankan tourism. Being so close to the Wilpattu National Park entrance made our safari trip seamless. If you want a real taste of Sri Lanka, this is the place to be.

This is a great experience. The accomodation is quite basic but its all about the location. When you gst up for a 5.30am start for the park to be first in line for when it opens at 6am. Also sitting on the verandah listening to the crickets and sounds of the jungle. We had our food brought up to us to enjoy this unique experience more. BtW food was good and quite some choice.|I recommend asking for extra sheets for the bed and extra toilet rolls upfront.

A beautiful tree house apartment. Very well kept and equipped rooms.||We saw lots of wildlife from our balcony, due to the very close location to the national park. |The staff and especially Nelson were incredibly kind and couldn't do enough for us, we are very grateful 🙏 ❤️
