Wilson's Retreat

The hotel and room were lovely. The location is fine, though it’s definitely better suited for those seeking peace and quiet rather than nightlife, as it’s in a calmer part of the island. We arranged a private boat snorkeling trip through the staff, and they were extremely efficient in securing someone for us right away. Breakfast was decent, though there’s room for improvement. The only real downside was that someone clearly went through our backpacks. When we raised this with the manager, they denied it, but several things were obviously out of place. After we mentioned it, housekeeping standards noticeably improved the next day — the room was spotless, the dirty spoons had been replaced, new sealed water bottles were provided, and everything was tidied far more thoroughly than before.

Wonderful hotel! The staff is incredibly friendly, the menu is excellent, and the prices are unbeatable. The location is right on the sea in a fantastic spot—you are in the north area, which is very quiet. It is even possible to see turtles just in front of the hotel

Easily a 1,000,000/10 for us. The resort is situated on the quieter northern side of the island with a beautiful private beach. we kayaked, swam and snorkelled to our hearts content and saw so much marine life, including sea turtles just a few meters from the beach. We really enjoyed the relaxed feel of the area. Just only a short stroll away is sunset yoga where we took a couple of yoga lessons with a sea view taught by our instructor (also called yoga) who was the the best on the island in my opinion. Our villa was large and excellently appointed, perfect for an authentic island experience. The outside bathroom and shower was spacious and adds to the experience. Food and drink also great, but what made our stay extra special were the team led by the hotel manager Yudha. They were attentive and just generally lovely people. A special thank you and mention must go to to Yudha, who when we realised that we had left a bag behind at the hotel, arranged with the fast ferry company, Eka Jaya, to have it delivered safely to the port at Pandang Bai where able to pick it up. The communication and effort throughout our dilemma was so appreciated. We will be back as soon as we can. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Spent a week in a one room pool villa and could not recommend more highly. Rooms are very comfortable, and well appointed. The rest of the resort relaxing and well looked after. Snorkeling with turtles straight in front of the hotel before breakfast is something that I suspect not many resorts around the world can match. One special call out is for the resort staff, who in our experience were, without exception helpful, friendly, professional and fun. I'm going to start with the positives. The staff was excellent, very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. A particular shout out to Yudha for his help and guidance. The restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners that we ate there. This was out first stop outside of three weeks in Bali so maybe our expectations were unreasonably high but the room was more like a motel room that a suite. The AC struggled to keep the room reasonably cool but the staff gave us a standing fan which helped. There was no chair in the room two hassocks and a low table. There wasn't really enough shelf space to unpack our suitcases and there were four hangers on an open clothes bar. The mosquito net was small and circular instead of square and the size of the bed so the netting hung in from the sides up against you as you slept. It was always a crap shoot as to whether the toilet was going to evacuate its contents, sometimes efficiently, sometimes after multiple flushes sometimes not at all. Our room was near the front of the property and there is a path leading down the middle of the units you needed to have your drapes closed unless you really wanted to get friendly with the neighbors. In the edition of Lonely Planet that I have this hotel has a star which is why we booked it. The staff was great the layout and amenities of the rooms not so much for what we paid and what we experienced elsewhere on our trip to Indonesia. That's why this is an "average" review.

We had a 4 night stay in the family pool|Villa. Beautiful villa, friendly staff (nothing was too much trouble). Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard.|Restaurant food was lovely and well priced.|A real highlight was the snorkeling right out the front where we saw many turtles.|Would love to visit again.

Wow, what an extreme surprise we had as we entered our booked villa at Wilson’s. Architecture is a dream to observe and the design combined with the private pool and lounge area is simply unbeatable. Service is wonderful as well as the sunset and we all agree that this is the most fab stay during our Indonesia trip so far. Congrats to the entire team for an amazing achievement in terms of exciting customer! A big wow!
