Google
Great place! Nice atmosphere. Interesting quick glass show is key for the trip. Recommend to stop by if you’re in Wimberley town.

Google
I visit several times a year and always enjoy viewing and purchasing their seasonal hand blown glass art. Today I added to my pumpkin collection and also a beautiful hummingbird feeder. The staff is welcoming and friendly. It's amazing to watch the blown glass art process live at the studio.

Google
Glassblowing takes a lot of talent, and is it ever on display at Wimberly Glassworks. We visited last September and were blown away (yup, pun) by the finished works in the showroom and the artistry on display in the workshop. I ordered this beautiful 4-leaf clover around St. Patrick’s day and it was delivered a few weeks later - in perfect condition. This is going as a housewarming gift. The beautiful glass candle stays here with us, proudly on display in our living room. Stop in and treat yourself. It’s a great place in a great town. We’ll be back soon!

Google
Nice blown glass factory. Furnace room offers seating area for glass blowing demonstrations. The adjacent display and store area has a nice selection of all kinds of dishes, bowls, platters, globes, light sconces, free form art any many other beautiful items. It was a very delightful experience, and one that deserves repeated visits 😁.

Google
A one hour well explained session of glassworks. It is a very artistic & a learning place.

Google
Super cool place I just happened to stumble upon ! So beautiful and amazing the coolest thing was watching blown away and actually seeing what they do in person that’s literally the first thing that came to mind. Everyone was so nice and inviting !

Google
Today, Wimberley Glassworks hosted the Gourdeous Glass Pumpkin Patch Festival!! Lovely outside seating with live music and drinks available. The gift shop was full of bright and shiny things where I purchased an ornament from their 2022 collection (every year is a different design...uh, oh, I may have just started my collection, lol!) It was so intriguing and memorizing watching the artists create beautiful glass art! I will definitely go back, before the next Pumpkin Festival, to watch the artists work and plan on bringing home a work of art each time! Wonderful event! Great job!

Google
Beautiful place. Loved the demonstrations. No reservation needed. Early birds will have a good start. Buying souvenirs is a good way to support the business. An ancient art yet still mesmerizing. A must visit. And if anyone wants to have something unique made out of glass. They do contracts as well.

Yelp
What a gem of a place to visit so close to San Antonio. The different glass craftsmanship available in the store is amazing. If you're up to it, you can also go in the shop and watch as articles are shaped, formed and made. The craftsman will also come up and explain what and how they do what they do. A great experience and you'll always want to take something home with you.

Yelp
It was a really fun and educational visit to WGW. They demo in the hot toom .. today, making a bowl and a pumpkin. The team is as talented as they are entertaining. The showroom had a little bit for everyone.. lighting, vases, ornaments, hummingbird feeders, jewelry and more.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome experience to see ! Nice informative workers . There happen to be a last min glass blowing of the ornament class and we were able to watch ! I've seen a show on Netflix of glass blowing but seeing it in person is so much more awesome! They have times you're able to go in there and watch them blow glass ! It is very pricey for the product but worth it with all the hard work and talent put into it !

Yelp
This place is pretty awesome! The staff is super friendly and talkative and actually wants you to look at their collection and interact with their glassblowers. Ours was a bit hoarse from many art classes but that was ok, we'd seen blowing before. The gallery had so many very intricate designs to choose from. I really liked the cactus designs. They have a bunch of glass installations outside too. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
This was truly a memorable experience! Watching the glass blower create a stunning piece of art was fascinating, and he was kind enough to explain the entire process to us while answering all of our questions. The gallery was filled with an impressive collection of finished glass pieces available for purchase, with a wide range of prices to fit any budget. I was blown away by the incredible attention to detail and the stunning colors and designs of each piece. I highly recommend visiting Wimberley Glassworks if you're ever in the area. It was an educational and informative experience that I won't soon forget.

Yelp
Wimberly glassworks is areally neat store. They have glass demonstrations and their products are unique and beautiful. I love to receive, and give gifts from this store.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Your classic boutique glass blowing business with unexpected pieces. Pretty neat place, good location, beautiful pieces, wonderful staff...looks like a lot of fun for the locals too. However generally places like these are out of my price range of what I can spend on glassware.
google avatar

Benjamin W.

Yelp
This place is *glorious*. SO beautiful. You step in and the bright colors in the gallery just overwhelm you with joy; it's hard to describe. That, and everything feels so well designed, all the infographics and marketing. You really can just walk in and watch them blow glass. It's not a class or anything; they just narrate what they're doing on and off. And the glassblowers are super nice. Oh, if you're going to sit there for a while sunglasses aren't a bad idea. The furnace is like staring at the sun. (I just didn't look straight at it.) Someday when I'm obscenely rich I'll come back and buy some lighting here!

C.w H.

Yelp
Great place and staff was super helpful and very knowledgeable. The selection was great and prices were sooooo cheap

Dulce B.

Yelp
Nice unique place, art all over such a great experience, and the class to see how the make their glasses is awesome

Yelp
I guess there were duplicate listings at some point, so I've pasted my original from the closed page below. Since that posted visit I have purchased a cobalt tree ornament in-store for my ma's (2018?) xmas gift, a trio of colorful eggs shipped straight to her for Easter, and I just finished ordering a blown glass pumpkin (shipping to her rural address again) for her upcoming autumn birthday. The eggs arrived perfectly sound and I have every expectation the pumpkin will too.* I like they take care with the protective packaging as much as they do every detail in the store and studio. They're nice people offering unique, quality products and I order from them with confidence. * it did arrive safe! ------ (Originally posted ca 2017) I've been a fan a long time. Beautiful pieces in a lot of different styles over the years and I wish I could buy them all. You will find tableware, jewelry, vases, night lights, ornaments, window accents, hummingbird feeders, and soooo many lighting fixtures. You will see portraits of huge contract pieces installed for giant corporations who can afford to impress (and you can certainly spend as much as you want on some beautiful smaller works) but that is balanced with affordable ($30 or less) pieces in the gallery and free demonstrations to visitors. I've also been to some of their open houses in the past; they just seem like excellent members of the hill country community. Owner is super friendly (of course he is; he's originally Canadian) and free with the dad-quality jokes. Think about this--not only does he have the AC bill to pay, he also pays to keep the two thousand degree furnace running in the next room and smiles while he tans in its heat, taking familiar questions from strangers. That's some next-level zen. If you attend a free glassblowing demonstration in summer, I recommend getting some cold water at the desk (it's only a buck) for your small kids and elders. I'm healthy and under fifty but wasn't dressed for the heat and was starting to get woozy. It is art, entrepreneurship, history, education, entertainment, and definitely worth a visit if you find yourself driving on old RR12.

Yelp
Came here for a demo, and the employees were super friendly and great at explaining the different steps of the process. This is a beautiful shop/gallery and definitely worth checking out on your trip to Wimberley!
google avatar

Tonya M.

Yelp
This place has gorgeous glass works and a glass blowing demonstration while you are there. I love blown glass. Definitely not cheap but gorgeous works of art to take home. None of Tim's pieces are sold wholesale and all of the pieces are one of a kind each piece comes out different each time a piece is blown. It takes almost 2 days for a piece to be created. Mine is the one in the picture.
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
Excellent! Highly recommend. The demonstration was very informative. The showroom was spectacular!

Yelp
I was entertaining company from California when we just happened to be passing by, this company went out of its way to accommodate my friend from California and give him a one in a lifetime experience. Love these guys!!

Yelp
Down a long and winding road i found myself at Wimberley Glassworks. This art studio and store can be found in a somewhat modern building structure. When you 1st walk in you will see the show room with many amazing glass art pieces. You will find anything from lighting fixtures to little pendants to add to a necklace. It's amazing to see the process to complete a blown glass piece of art. They do a great job of explaining each step. I really fell this is a great place to take a family with teens/ preteens. They show the customers all the steps that goes in to making a piece of glass art. I will admit I found myself a little shocked at the prices of these art pieces until I realized how much work went in to them. If your in the area and have an interest in this art form it is worth stopping by.

Yelp
If you don't want to feel like you're melting, then do yourself a favor and come here when it's either cold or at least cooler outside! That's exactly what my family & I did and we were thankful for it. The owner and his assistant were great - there was a lot to learn and watch in the glass-making arena. They did keep it interesting by talking to the audience (the area they work in has a seating/viewing space) and at the time I last went there were plans displayed for their next projects. If you do happen to go in the warmer temps, there are signs posted that bottled water is available for purchase. After the exhibition, everyone is shuffled into the store area to browse and/or purchase some of their works. Pretty pricey too of course but exceptionally beautiful. Did you find the betta (fish) btw?

Yelp
Gorgeous gallery and excellent spot to learn about how high-end glassblowing works. Definite recommend on Highway 12 up towards Wimberley. I found the displays of glass art to be excellent, and I've seen many galleries with glasswork product, from Santa Fe to Laguna Beach. Be sure to take the time to watch one of the many demonstrations of the art by the glassblowers. Pro Tip: stop by the cashier to get a $1 bottle of icy cold water, as it can get hot in the demo room! If there's any shortcoming with the gallery, it's just that you have to be pretty well heeled to take home one of their works of art. I don't blame them for the price point - the artistry is top-notch! Definite recommend!

Yelp
We stopped by on a whim and did not regret it! The demo was so cool to watch and he gave just enough history to interest you, but not enough to bore you. The demo was free and definitely worth the drive. We left with a couple pieces and wished we would have gotten a couple more. Super cool place!
google avatar

Martie E.

Yelp
Love, love this place. The day we stopped here we were the only customers. Even so everyone had their masks on. We went back and watched a light fixture being made - absolutely amazing! We chatted with the artisans for several minutes after they finished the piece they were creating. Very courteous, informative, and answered all our questions. We purchased gifts for ourselves & our children and asked them to package and mail the gifts to our kids. Well they have all received their hand blown glass gifts and all arrived safely with NO cracks, chips or breakage! The shipping charge was very reasonable, too. Can hardly wait to return!
google avatar

Mary J.

Yelp
Oh my goodness!! So awesome!! We are totally impressed by talent these artist have. The work is beautiful and they are so friendly. Don't forget your mask the artist can't wear one so don't forget to help them stay healthy.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must stop on your drive through the hill country. The owner is so nice and loves his work...it shows. He does demonstrations often and doesn't charge for that but he really should because it's very interesting and entertaining. The glass pieces a beautiful bit a bit in the expensive side. Everything about the place is nice. Highly recommend!

Aryn B.

Yelp
What a treat to spend a bit of time with true craftsmen. Don't miss the demo--in addition to being insanely knowledgeable, it's evident the artisans love what they do. Of course, the works are incredible. But even better if you watch them in action!
google avatar

Maureen K.

Yelp
We've visited glass blowers all over the country and have never seen more beautiful art glass. Tim DeJong, the "head gaffer" (and I believe the owner), gives a running commentary as he blows the most amazing pieces - all well out of my price range. An interesting tidbit - it costs $650 an hour to run the room with the furnaces where the magic happens. Another learning - glass has a memory. It remembers the shape where it's been heated and chilled. Who knew!
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
This place was fantastic!! The prices were reasonable, but the viewing of the glass workshop was free and the people patiently answered every question I could think of. There was even a scavenger hunt for the children to do! Great memory making fun 10/10 I plan on coming back in October for their pumpkins.

Yelp
Great place unique style defiantly a place to get custom glass work done it is unbelievably beautiful

Yelp
This place is, hands down, one of my favorite places to visit when I am on my way to Wimberley. Every visit is a new experience. The place is huge, and it draws the attention of tourists on their way to shop in Wimberley, so I normally like to go during the early hours to miss the throngs of tourists, sometimes piling in from tour buses. Plus, during the heat of the summer, it's a little more bearable to go early. Tim DeJong, the head gaffer, is one of the most incredible people I've ever met. He's very personable and quite funny. He and the other glassblowers give "demonstrations" with very interesting commentary as they blow beautiful pieces of artwork. (I use quotations because they are not just demonstrating, but making the actual art that goes into the gallery, or a commissioned piece.) And it is artwork. Gorgeous artwork. And you just have to keep that in mind while you're perusing all the wonderful pieces. It's artwork. Not just a vase or a lampshade. It's artwork. The demonstrations typically last around 30 minutes, I think. But it's really hard for me to judge time when I am so mesmerized by the process. They usually take a 30 minute break in between each glassblowing demo. I love all the little tidbits of knowledge Tim DeJong drops when he is blowing glass. And he makes it look so effortless and easy. It's really a treat to watch all the glassblowing demonstrations. It's hot watching them blow glass. It gets quite hot in the summer, too, so wear shorts there. But, fortunately, they keep it a super cool temperature in the gallery where all their artwork is displayed. So don't drive past this place. Stop on in. You won't regret it. It's awe-inspiring.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Owner is super nice. We got there late to a demonstration but he stayed and talked to us about some of his past and present commercial projects. Their work is beautiful! Definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Lindsay J.

Yelp
The glass is just beautiful here. If I were rich, I would deck out my house with their stuff. The quality and beauty are phenomenal, and everything is very unique. The only downfall is cost...you must pay for beauty. I wish they would add more items at a lower price point to the inventory, I'd love to have more pieces in my home.
google avatar

Steven R.

Yelp
We arrived in time to see some of the artists at work. Intriguing. And amazing - particularly if you've never seen glass artists at work. Be prepared that the viewing area is quite warm.
google avatar

Vickie P.

Yelp
Beautiful works of art and they aren't fragile. We arrived for free beer day. so got a great show on glass blowing and had a beer in the "cool" back area.
google avatar

Sarah I.

Yelp
You can't miss this building--it has a bright yellow tower. The gallery is full of gorgeous hand-blown glass pieces: vases, lampshades, platters, hummingbird feeders, paperweights, jewelry, pitchers, goblets, sculptures, etc. They're all very pretty to look at (and expensive to buy) but the best part (and free!) is sitting in the studio and watching the glassblowing process. When I came in, they were halfway through making a pendant lampshade. Two men were working on it and gave explanations about what they were doing and why. It's fascinating--I would have stayed longer but they broke for lunch. Photography is allowed, but you'll need a long lens to get close enough. Glassblowing is a daily occurrence except on Tuesdays. Don't come on Tuesday!
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. it was so fascinating and educating. love that you can choose from very exquisite pieces, to very simple pieces.
google avatar

J M S.

Yelp
You'll be glad you stopped in. Make sure you stay and take in a demonstration.
google avatar

Yelp
When you're in Wimberley, if you only get here occasionally, you *must* visit WGW. This is the whole process of an art form, from ideation, through production, to consumption - and what consumption... Shoppers can choose from simple key fobs and cufflinks all the way to multi-fixture lighting sculptures - at price points across the spectrum. The glass blowing demonstrations are always interesting - the artisans and interns are eager for the public to understand their craft. The retail folks are also happy to answer any questions. The artists at WGW are also happy to customize anything for you, if you're willing to wait a bit. I commissioned four beautiful shades for a home remodel here in Wimberley - couldn't be happier with how they turned out, and that they're now such an example of local art, in my home. Wimberley is *such* an artist's community... As stated by another reviewer, don't go on Tuesdays if you want to see glass blowing.
google avatar

Shannon D.

Yelp
We live in Wimberley and Wimberley Glassworks is a must see on our itinerary when we show our out of town guests the sights. The glassblowing demonstration is fascinating. As mentioned by others, the pieces are expensive, but all are hand blown, unique pieces of art and gorgeous. You won't buy something here, only to get home and find a "made in China" sticker on the bottom. I hope you will visit Wimberley Glassworks and then continue on RR 12 to the Village of Wimberley. Yes, the Memorial Day flood this year (2015) was major, but the stores and restaurants are open for business and Wimberley was just named a Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts! Come get your art on!

Chris B.

Yelp
We stopped in on a whip on our way out of town. We lucked out and caught a "glass blowing" session just as it was starting. Super cool stuff! Much more interesting than I had anticipated. Would love to go back! Blown glass is not cheap FYI!
google avatar

Mallory G.

Yelp
Such wonderful artwork! I was in awe when I walked in. But we quickly had to walk to the back to see the glass blowing demonstration! I suggest calling ahead to see when they are demonstrating. And in the glass blowing room it is scorching hot! So expect to sweat. It makes sense, they are melting glass... Afterwards you get to shop even more in the gallery. Most of the lamps are made to order. You pick which color variation you want, type of lamp and shape of lamp you want. They also have smaller items that are more affordable such as hummingbird feeders, jewelry and iced tea glasses. When I owe a house near WImberley I can't wait to order one of their amazing chandeliers to decorate my house.

Yelp
Such an amazing place along with Very nice amazing Staff. Took an awesome class and got to help create a flower along with my group of friends. Cant wait to go back. This was an awesome experience something that i have always wanted to do.

S C.

Yelp
My family wanted to visit Wimberley and we passed by the glass works. We just browsed and took photos of the gallery and glass blowing demonstrations when the owner, Tim, asked for my dad's camera during the demonstration. We weren't too sure whether photography was allowed so we were worried, but he took the camera and started taking really close photos of the graffers and glass before returning the camera to us. It was unexpected but a fun trip. We'd definitely go again.

Paul N.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing! I have seen glass blowing done before, but they took it to a whole new level! When you walk in you are instantly greeted by a barrage of beautiful glass works. In the back of the store you can go and watch them actually create beautiful works of art from start to finish. They do these FREE shows all throughout the day, and if you miss one you can hang around for a few minutes for the next show. All the pieces in the main room are for sale, and all are reasonably priced. Everyone was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My wife and I walked in expecting to just look around, but it was all so incredible and beautiful that we couldn't wait to buy something if for no other reason than to support such amazing people! We will be back to visit next time we are in town! It's a definite MUST SEE if you are in town!
google avatar

Carmela S.

Yelp
I loved the glass blowing demonstration! The guys were very informative and super funny! I will definitely see it again every time I go to Wimberley! The pieces they make are for sale in their store that is attached to the demonstration area. They are a bit pricey but if you sit through the demonstration you will know why, because there is a ton of time and effort involved in this! It is something you rarely get to see and I would definitely advise anyone to stop in and watch!
google avatar

Teresa T.

Yelp
They have beautiful handmade glass lamps and ornaments. We received a large three light table lamp as a gift from here and love it! Been twice just to watch them make things and on a cold winter day it has been a good way to kill an hour or two.

Will K.

Yelp
Great art glass! And get live demonstration of glass blowing too. Friendly helpful staff. Although this specialty glass is higher end--in quality and pricing--it is well worth a stop in to see the selection of some amazing glass art pieces and lighting fixtures. But hold on to the kids!...or keep them away! A must see in Wimberly!
google avatar

Jim C.

Yelp
Love watching the glass blowing demonstrations. We have gone several times and there always seems to be something new and interesting. Their glass us expensive but each piece is custom made and different from the others.

Allison S.

Yelp
Enjoyed the 15 minute presentation on glass blowing and was thrilled to purchase some items to remember my trip. The presentation is also good for children.

Chris B.

Yelp
This place had very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The glasswork demonstration was very cool and best of all was FREE. They do have alot of their glasswork for sale, but most of them are for lighting and although very beautiful, range from $500-$3000!!!! You may be able to get some earrings, a necklace, glass rose or keychains for under $50. We didnt spend a dime, but enjoyed the experience. I'd definitely recommend if in the area or just passing by.
google avatar

Jade B.

Yelp
if you're near wimberley and have some time to spare, you have to visit wimberley glass works. they have demonstrations of the process it takes to shape a piece of molten glass into a vase. very interesting to say the least! the demonstrations are free as well.

Jason K.

Yelp
What a great place! Beautiful work, and the staff is very friendly. The demonstrations are fascinating to watch. SIgn up for their email newsletter so you know about their occasional "open house" nights, when they stay open later and have drinks and snacks available. Warning: those drinks have a tendencey to open wallets! Or maybe I have a glass addiction. It's hard to say.
