Didn't stay there- just drove up for the day. Weather was great, but conditions were icy and lifts were crowded. Kids snowboard and we set by the fire place that was very nice. Fast food was ridiculously expensive- fastfood burger, fries and drink for almost 40 dollars 💸 they know you are a captive audience- so they have no shame. Tables were dirty and floors slippery. Disappointing overall.

Google
Beautiful area but there’s not much to do. Not what I would call affordable food and drinks. The ski area is very nice and the lodge and outdoor base area are very nice with plenty of outdoor seating and fire pits. I did not find any what I describe expert terrain but that’s no problem just be aware if that’s what you’re looking for. The negatives are exactly what you would think you’d expect at a New York Club. High prices and snooty people.

Will Fitzpatrick

Google
Windham is our favorite mountain this year. Too bad it’s coming off the icon pass. People are nice despite all New Yorkers, it feels like hunter soaks up all the trash. Good trails and lots of challenge. Always great music and DJs at the bottom. Parking system is one of the best drop off pick up zones we’ve been to

Ray

Google
Last season seasons bar restaurant added a great lunch item called chicken schwarma. It was grilled chicken with rice and grilled vegetables for $26.00, it was great, very delicious. This season it was $29.00 and all that was on the plate was a scoop of rice and some shredded chicken, with no vegetables for $29.00. Quite a difference from last season. I’ll definitely not be going there for lunch again and buying drinks and food.

Google
Complete rip-off. This place price gouges you for everything, you can no longer pay with cash. Everything must be paid with a credit card and a mandatory 10% tip is automatically charged for everything you buy, including a bottle of water. The mountain isn't that great anyway. I will never come here again. Go to Belleayre or Hunter.

Google
Windham is what’s wrong with the modern day ski industry. We are being priced out and it’s not normal! The common skier cannot keep up with “skiflation.” I’m insulted by the ticket and food prices. And good luck parking if you aren’t a member. I can’t believe I thought Deer Valley was bad… this place takes the cake. Only giving 2 stars because of fast lifts. Support public mountains and ski somewhere else.

Jennifer Corcoran

Google
It seems like they gave the lodge a facelift, require reservations for IKON pass holders, and raised prices to create some facade of a "luxury" experience, when in reality this is a smallish mountain in the middle of nowhere. Why is it so expensive? To pay for a shuttle bus that brings you 500ft? Conditions were a little icy but that's the east for ya! As a beginner I did appreciate the fun easy trails, but after 2 days here I am starting to get bored and will likely not go through the trouble of booking a reservation again to come back. Service was inconsistent - some employees were friendly and some made me feel like I was annoying them by asking basic questions. Not allowed to bring outside food in the cafeteria and this meal was $43!?

Andrew Murphy

Google
Whoever does the pricing for this mountain needs a serious reality check. As someone who has grown up skiing the north east, out west, and even in Europe this place is a joke. Save your money and drive an extra hour north where conditions are better and tickets are significantly cheaper. Congrats Windham you take the award for the most overpriced mid tier mountain in all of America 😁👍

Yelp
Great skiing in march, every trail is open and the snow is soft and perfect, groomed trails, element trails, jumps, sightseeing thru the house trail. Fresh sushi for lunch, fiddle head on tap at the umbrella bar. Live music, drinks, good wine, more fiddlehead, full bar scene, keep bumping into people from our ct town, Music, snow, food, wine and song, can't ask for more

Yelp
For someone who snowboards at the Poconos and NJ mountains, Windham mountain trumps them all! We were honestly very impressed with the slopes and amount of trails, and the cleanliness of the mountain. The food court is overpriced but that's typically expected at these mountains. Definitely have a little treat at the Waffle Cabin near the bunny slopes. Lift tickets here are pretty expensive for a resort that closes at 4pm which is the only downside. We stayed at the condo advertised on the website which had a buy 2 nights stay the third free promotion as well as discounted lift tickets. Weekends are about $130 and weekdays are $60.

Yelp
I'm loving all the upgrades! Great local mountain with good snow making, shuttle service, decent free parking (a relief after the shit show that is Camelback) and a cute lodge/bar/restaurant/ect. Seasons has improved dramatically and the bartenders are fabulous! High speed lifts, varied terrain and not too many people on weekdays (forget about Saturdays). I will definitely be back! Only complaint is that Chin Chin is only for members. We would have loved to have lunch and drinks there!

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I can only speak on the Windham tubing park but it was amazing. All of the kids that work there are teens or very early 20's and they are all super cool and kind. It's very rare to find an environment seemingly ran by kids who run it smoothly. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great little resort with many big resort features: large cafeteria with ample space for eating and regrouping, reasonably priced hot food, BBQ on weekends, taco and mac 'n cheese trucks on weekends, sizable shop with all the gear and accessories you could need, wifi at the lodge, a cute bar tent you can ski right up to (with friendly staff!), fire pits, and plenty of outdoor perches. Really fun place for skiing/snowboarding as a family. We went on a Thursday and a Friday just after the area got some snow, so conditions were good and it was not crowded.

Yelp
Haven't been here in quite some time but was able to finally get a mid week day trip in. Great mountain! Got here early so parking wasn't an issue but I remember not liking the set up being so far from the base of you come later in the morning. Mountain itself was sweet though, lots of cool terrain and the parks were well done. I would t mind coming back again mid week when it's quiet like it was today.

Yelp
Slopes There are a total of around 53 trails on this mountain. When I went in early March there were still 5 ski lifts open and about 43 trails opened. There are a variety of different slopes and trails to go on from the bunny hill to double black diamond. With that being said with many variety the trails are medium size as well! There is nothing to complain about the slopes here and lots of space to ski/snowboard! Price The price when it gets around March it tends to fall and there are cheaper prices for the ski lifts since it's closer to the end of the season so that's something to look out for. Parking The parking space isn't so big. If your going on a packed weekend/day I was go a little earlier to make sure you claim your parking space. Customer service The customer service here is great! Someone accidentally took my skis and I went straight to guest services. They made me fill out a form for the lost item and they've arranged for me to use their rentals until my skis were found. This process went so smoothly and was handled with great care!

Yelp
Please ask them to find another place to ruin. Their development plan will change the landscape of this beautiful mountain forever by OVER Developing such a beautiful place.you can see by the social media comments some of which they have turned off. Basically anything that doesn't shine a flattering light on their (cloudy new vision) that their  greed and selfishness.is affecting the town and the people that have enjoyed the mountain for generations .please just go away and leave this little mountain and community alone.(Or better yet embrace what Windham mountain truly is improve it with out taking it away from everyone.)im sure you get paid well to do what you do.but try to also not be dehumanized and really look at what this is doing to the good People who are trying so hard to fight for what they love but do not have the resources to stand up to such a Goliath."The new vision is blurry"Reopen the bike park and skiing  to all . embrace the community.I know this will more than likely fall on deaf ears but this is all we have. HOPE ....hope that there will be power in numbers and just maybe if enough people are heard someone will listen and stand up for us.5 stars are for the great employees of Windham mountain.

Yelp
While working in hospitality, especially at night, it is always hard to find some time to get away and treat yourself to something nice; which is why I took my family and me to enjoy Windham Mountain Club when I finally got the chance. Except, the service here was so bad that there was no way I could've enjoyed spending time there. I tried my best to book a ski trip that was at its fullest potential: rentals, private instructor, snow tubing. I accidentally booked the wrong date for a private instructor and realized it too late but took accountability for it. I would never try to make anyone else's life miserable or difficult, as I understand what it is like to deal with difficult customers since, again, I work in the hospitality industry as well. I arrived at the Ski & Ride School building, where I spoke with Oscar and that's when we both realized my mistake. He proceeded to call the front desk and you can already hear the nasty attitude from the other person on the other side of the phone call. Oscar explains the situation to her and she just goes on and says: "What the hell am I supposed to do with that?" Oscar then told me that I could go to the front desk where they would help me get a gift card for the amount of the private lessons. After we had left the Ski & Ride School building, my family and I decided to just try and teach ourselves how to snowboard. After we finished snowboarding, I stopped by the front desk to retrieve the gift card. Nicky, the one with dark hair, glasses, wrinkles, and a bad attitude, if you see her, you'd know. She just goes "Oh so you're the one I was waiting hours for." Then when she handed over the gift card, I asked if it was a part of their policy to call customers or not if their appointments for the private instructor ended up being a no-show or late. She then proceeded to say in a backhanded manner, "No we don't do that because customers usually double-check and confirm their information." I don't know what her problem is. It's not like I was told to go to the front desk immediately. They close at 4 PM. We arrived at the mountain at 1:30 PM. You would still have to work the remaining 2.5 hours regardless of whether I show up immediately after speaking with the Ski & Ride School or not. In hospitality, I am accustomed to facilities checking up on customers; I do it while working. It's not like I was blaming them for missing the appointment. I took full accountability for my mistake and was just wondering about their policies. Nothing is worse than coming out of a consecutive 32-hour long shift, then driving 3 hours and trying to enjoy time with your family, just for an employee to ruin your day by sneaking in disses and comments with a bad attitude. I truly think Windham Mountain Club should go through intensive hospitality re-training. Even though I have a gift card to use, I'm only using it to stay at any of the hotels it works with. I will never come back to Windham Mountain Club after the experience I had with the front desk. In addition, the Food Hall Kitchen closes 2 hours before (3 PM) closing (5 PM). It doesn't mention that on their website so plan ahead and just eat somewhere else.

Yelp
Fun fact- apparently I was the first to review Windham 14yrs ago... Windham really impressed me over the pandemic years. They had a great outdoor food setup and somehow kept staff friendly and lifts moving decently smooth. This is a lovely family Mtn and great for beginners to intermediates. The woods here are fun when they get enough POW! See you on the lifts

Yelp
If I could leave no stars I would. I honestly don't know how this place gets so hyped up. This may be the worst mountain I've ever skied, and that's including mountain creek. The most narrow runs, staff are assholes, conditions suck, and everyone who goes here are pompous d-bags. What pisses me off the most is the people running this place, the owner, the board, the president. How in the hell do you justify charging 165 bucks for a lift ticket, when Belleayre (which is a better mountain 100x times over and right down the street) charges 85-99? And better yet, Hunter, WHICH IS OWNED BY VAIL, charges 105-115. It is absolutely mind boggling that they could get away with this. Especially for a mountain of their caliber with only 50 trails, and every single time you go there it's more ice than hunter or whiteface. I honestly don't even know how they got on the IKON pass with this caliber mountain. I mean seriously, you look down whilst on the ski lift and it's absolutely mind boggling when you think what the price is. You can ski Vermont resorts and Colorado resorts for less than what they charge. Like WHAT??? The best part is though, for all us Ikon pass holders, if you try to make a reservation, most of the time you'll see you can't, but yet 9/10 times when I see that no reservations available notification, I go on windham's website and see they are still selling tickets for that day. It's absolutely distasteful and disgraceful because at the end of the day, the only thing this place cares about is money, not servicing their customers, not how well they're mountain is groomed, just stuffing their pockets. I would love to sit down with the owner of this place and pick his brain, but it might lower my IQ in the process. Complete joke of an operation. Someone needs to file a class action lawsuit on behalf of ikon pass holders. Randy Frankel, Steven Starker, Dick Jordan, Stu Bereleson, are all crooks. I've caddied for guys like this my whole life, complete jokes of human beings. Much better off going to belleayre down the block, I'd even go to mountain creek or big snow before I ever give this place one nickel ever again.

Yelp
The food at the new cin cin mid mountain lodge is so good. The view of the mountain is stunning the restaurant is beautiful and you can take the lift up without skis

Ivan V.

Yelp
The one star is for the ski school. I asked to meet my child for lunch - I waited patiently at the agreed upon time, my kid isn't anywhere to be found. The front desk help looks around the ni parent area and can't find him 3 times. Eventually I found him as he was leaving already having had lunch. I would complain in person but there is literally no one here now to complain to. Zero customer service or competence here.

Yelp
This is a mountain that is close to the tri-state area, has some decent terrain, and excellent grooming and snowmaking. They really have good facilities. The problem is, it is just so close to New York City and other major population centers. It is setup in a way way there is just one very confined base, and not much in the way of spreading out the masses. My point is THE CROWDS are just horrific. I've been here on Saturdays in February in the past few years, and both times it is just not fun. I can understand waiting 10-15 minutes for a life once a while, but this is just non stop, from 9am through the end of the day. I am spoiled I think, I just don't enjoy skiing when you spend far more time in line than you do on the slopes or even moving on a chairlift. I know it is a complex situation, but I feel like they should fine some way to limit the Ikon passes and how many tickets they sell on these busy days. I'd never go back on a weekend again, just not worth the money. Weekdays? That's another story. For a weekend, I'm better off driving a bit further to Mass or southern Vermont, where the crowds are more manageable.

Yelp
**Tubing Only** The weather was warm so they didn't have all the tubing runs open but it didn't really matter because they only had 3 staff pushing people off. Plus they whipped the tubes to turn them and it hurt one of the kids necks. They oversold the tickets for the few staff that had. Kids waited 20 minutes for a single ride. Then more folks showed up so for an hour of waiting they got 2 runs. Not worth $35 each. Bathrooms were disgusting and not usable.

Yelp
My friends and I took a weekend trip up to Windham to ski/snowboard and it was our first time in Windham. Three people in our group signed up to take a group lesson since they had never skied before. Their lesson package included their ski, helmet, boots and pole rental. I was impressed with the organization of the ski and snowboard rental process. There were tons of employees to help along the way and they were super efficient in getting people in and out. I did not take a lesson so my rentals were $51 and my lift ticket was $94, which I purchased online before I got there. I believe it is more expensive to purchase your lift ticket the day of. They tell you to place your lift ticket in your left hand pocket; it automatically gets scanned before getting onto the lifts. We arrived around 9am on a Saturday morning and it was packed; next time, I would probably try to arrive earlier. I thought that all of the trails were well groomed. There were many lessons on the trails throughout the morning and tons of instructors in green and red jackets. Each time, we would wait 5-10 minutes to get on the lift. My friends said the instructors in their group lesson were very accommodating and friendly. It did start to rain around noon and it definitely cleared out. Overall, I had a great time at Windham and were impressed with the organization of the rentals and the friendliness of the staff! I will definitely be back and would recommend it!

Yelp
COVID NIGHTMARE Review of Windham Mountain Pending review Headed to Windham today ( Friday, not even a weekend) hoping to take advantage of the new snow! COVID protocols are basically non-existent in practice. There are signs and rules posted but more than half of the people are not masked and packed into lift lines that are overcrowded and not distanced. I left after one run because it was a COVID nightmare. Windham needs to take some responsibility and enforce the mask up rules or don't say you have them. I was in Sugarloaf Maine the week prior and they did a fantastic job with enforcement and line distancing. It can be done well, but it's not happening at Windham. It is a mystery to me how so many people refuse to do the simplest thing to keep everyone safe and enjoying the slopes. The culture at this place is toxic.

Yelp
I am staying at whisper creek this week. Overall it has been a good experience but the pricing has increased exponentially. The nice restaurant upstairs has been replaced with a niche restaurant not catering to kids although cin cin has been added at the top and is a nice addition. My kids have really been enjoying the ski school as well. The only complaint I really have is that we made a reservation at tavern 23 online over a month ago. We drove by the other day and I called to see why it was dark and the response was "oh it closed several months ago and we don't know why you can still make reservations online." I asked if they could make another reservation for me somewhere else since I didn't have one for my family and they were unwilling to help. Luckily I was able to make a reservation last minute at a place downtown for my family. Had I not driven by my family would have gone there with my two small kids only to find out it was closed. Something should have been done to help me since you still have the site up and I found out that several others had gone there this week with a reservation only to find out it was closed.

Rob M.

Yelp
Awful. Only 2 runs in an hour so we left. Overcrowded. Staff allowing people to cut lines. Honestly, could have found a hill behind a department store that would have been more fun. Don't waste your money.

Yelp
The mountain itself is better than Hunter but this place went downhill for me. They can not handle the crowd they sell out to first of all. It's the most packed I've ever seen any mountain and total chaos in the lodge, as well as the lifts and customer service. Parking is atrocious and my car was backed into bc other cars were parked in areas not meant for parking. We spent the entire day and only got on 3 trails bc they close at 4. Ticket prices were incredibly high for the experience you should have in the short day you're faced with. I know weekends are always crowded for they are not equipped to manage it at all.

Yelp
Windham Mountain review mid season It's been a tough year for all ski areas in the NE this season - cold one day, springlike temps the next, then wind and rain. Seems the only weather we're not getting enough of is; snow. So that's when having a plan, an approach, a philosophy to achieve the best results possible, when so much is unknowable, is critical. I give kudos to Windham Mountain and three cheers to their snow makers, groomers and mountain team for providing consistently good skiing since opening with just two trails right after Thanksgiving. I think this year, Windham Mountain really shines! So far this year, I have not hit one rock or pebble (and virtually no brown spots), and all trails had decent base - indeed, their approach early on was to focus on base depth and not width. Other hills that went for full coverage lost more terrain when the rains came. Windham also blew many 'whales', those huge mounds of snow (sometimes 20' high - or more!), on the just about every cold night they had and it's served them well; these whales 'bank' the snow, allowing the pile's moisture to drain out over a few days, then when needed, they can groom it out to corduroy, and because it's less wet to begin with, the result is a better, softer and longer lasting surface. Also - it's super fun to ski those big mounds! At this point in the season, weekends are busy, so the early bird gets the worm - I usually show up for first chair and am done by 11am, when the crowds are swelling up. Mid week, it's all yours - I haven't waited at all in any line during the week since November. One complaint is that there continues to be issues with some lifts. For the most part they work fine, but when you get stuck on a lift - or the crowds are building because of a mechanical issue on another lift, it tends to stick with you. On the other hand, Windham Mountain has some great lifties that make waiting your turn much more enjoyable. Just don't have Will throw the yellow flag at you! (if you go out of turn!) The addition of the "Parachute Bar" on the patio, is a great place to meet, though I prefer to go upstairs to Season's bar where I can get my Guinness. The vibe here is very much a family-friendly mountain, though seems friendly all around. I've made friends on the lift and met clients here as well. When I invite guests here to ski, I don't have to worry about being embarrassed by facilities that are run-down, dirty or uninviting or by rude staff. I see the General Manager and President, Chip Seamans out and on the hill often - last time he was at one of the lifts observing the training of a new liftie. When they have First Tracks up and running (closed during pandemic), he's sometimes with us skiing at warp speed at 7am along with the rest of the hard cores. So, my complaints are minimal to the overall skiing experience at Windham Mountain, which has been a great place to ski, hang out with friends and have a nice day. PS; I have over 50 days of skiing so far this year, (as of 2/22/22 - over 30 at Windham Mountain.)

Yelp
The mountain itself is one of the best close mountains you can get to from NYC. I'd highly reccomend a day trip with either Urban Sherpa or OvRide. They include discounted lift tickets and rentals and remove the hassle of driving out of the city. DEMO SHOP: The demo shop deserves a 5 star rating. I got my first pair of skis there this year and couldn't have been happier with the service I received from Greg and his recommendations. He helped me walk through the difficult process of selecting skis, was very professional, knowledgeable, and not trying to just sell me something--which I've found to be rare out most ski stores.

Yelp
Went here with a lot of fear as I'd never ski before. Met Joanne and my heart was out at ease. She talked me thru my fears. Thank you Joanne

Yelp
Although Windham and nearby Hunter Mountain both provide good verticals (1,600 feet) relatively close to NYC, I think Windham has the slight advantage of the two mountains for these reasons: - More "top to bottom" runs. Assuming you can ski any terrain, there are many more ways down from the Windham summit. Windham also has another mountain peak (East Peak) that services an additional five trails, with a speedy lift ride right back to the top via detachable hi-speed quad lift "G." - Wider runs. Not trying to knock Hunter, but many of the runs off Hunter's summit chairlift are narrow and steep with switchbacks. Combine this with beginner skiers taking big turns, and the fact that there's only a few ways down, and you've got crowded, icy trails by mid-day. At Hunter, I usually stick to Hunter West since it's an experts only area and not as many people hit those runs. Windham has plenty of wide intermediate runs off summit lifts "A" (detachable quad) and "F" (fixed grip triple), in addition to the nice double-blacks if you head right off either of the summit chairs. - Less bottlenecking at the base. With two ways to ride from base to summit, my friends and I will often split up and ride in the Singles line, or opt for the slower fixed grip triple lift (lift F) to get to the top. Even though the ride itself might be slower, almost all the people flock to the hi-speed detachable lift (lift A), so you can pretty much ski right onto the fixed grip triple. I'd argue that the combined wait/ride time from bottom to top is actually SHORTER if you jump onto the fixed grip triple. Lastly, a quick tip, especially for intermediates: Upper/Lower Whistler and Warpath tend to crowd up towards the afternoon since they're the easiest runs to access off the summit chairlifts. If you're seeking less traveled runs and/or better, snow, take Wall Street to Lower Wolverine, Lower Wheelchair, Warm Up Park, or Lower Wipeout. All four are considered "intermediate," but since the runs that feed directly into them are all double-black (expert) runs, they tend to be less trafficked.

Yelp
I visited quite a few ski resorts in the NY-NJ-PA areas this 2013-2014 season and Windham mountain ski resort is one of my favorites. We stayed for a few days in a nearby affiliated hotel during the holiday season. Upon arriving at the resort you will have to register yourself in the computer (personal information, ski level, etc.) so you will not have to register yourself every time you visit (some other resorts are still doing the manual registration and I found this to be very time consuming). The rental procedure is systematic and you are up and about in no time at all. The base lodge has 3 levels, the cafeteria area on 2nd level can be crowded and if you want to spend a little bit more I recommend eating at the bar grill and restaurant on the 3rd level. There are enough ski trails for every ski level but not enough express ski lifts to get you quickly to the top of the mountain. All in all definitely a great experience and will come back next year.

Yelp
My wife, 2 daughters an I spent several days skiing at Windham 3 years ago but hadn't been since due to the pandemic. I took my daughter there this week for a one day overnight ski outing. Overall, it wasn't bad, Almost all artificial snow but enough cover on enough trails to be fun. A bit icy in places, but that's to be expected. The resort itself was clean and reasonably staffed overall. I gave a low rating due to two issues, both having to do with their customer friendliness, or lack thereof. First, their website went down for "maintenance."while I was in the process of renting equipment a few days earlier. The note gave no clue as to when the site would be back up, so I had to keep checking needlessly until the next day when it finally came back. The second issue was much worse. We got stuck on a lift for almost an hour, and our chair was stopped right in the middle of 4 or 5 snow blowers going full tilt. The roar was deafening, and periodically we would get snow directed at us. There were no announcements whatsoever regarding what we should expect. 15 minutes in I called the main number and after lots of hold time finally got someone and asked that they at least turn off the snow blowers. She said she'd send someone. It never happened. When we finally got off, there were two staffers giving out passes for "a coffee or a hot chocolate." When I asked why they hadn't responded to the request to turn off the blowers one of them replied, "It's complicated. Be happy you're alive and of the lift." That's an "A" grade for how treat customers right there (not!). And a coffee for our ordeal, and taking an hour out of our day, felt like a slap in the face. Frankly, all they had to do was apologize and give even a $10 certificate for food or the gift shop and people would have been happy. It's a shame because the physical resort and mountain are reasonably good.

L M.

Yelp
ZERO enforcement of mask wearing and social distancing. If I get COVID, it's because of this resort since it's the only place where I wasn't able to safely socially distance. My family left after 30 minutes because we felt so uncomfortable and the entire situation seemed SUPER risky. Your employee PULLED HER MASK DOWN TO SPEAK TO ME. WTF is wrong with you guys? You wanna get shut down, because that's what it looks like.

Yelp
Personally I thought this was a great mountain to Ski. But the customer service on this mountain blew me away how rude/ inappropriate they were. One person that really stuck out to me was the lift F scanner was Kurt G. I was at the mountain with my daughter and I was getting some weird looks from Kurt and he was scooping out my daughter. Every single time I would go on the lift he would give my daughter a little feel. Not just once but a bunch of times. WINDHAM NEEDS TO ACT NOW.

Yelp
My fav mountain to go and ski! I would recommend to come if you a beginner like me. They have more green trails than others. Also, the people who work there are always happy. The process go get your rentals is very easy and fast. It won't take you longer. They offer a good and healthy variety of food for lunch. In my case, I always get ramen. It's a great place and beautiful environment specially for kids.

Yelp

Yelp
. I'm editing this because I went to use this voucher on a rare powder day and it was one of the best days of my season.

Yelp
I recently brought my son to Windham for the bike park and got him a lesson as well as one of the brand new bikes they have for rent. I trailed him and his coach named Chris Valente who could not have been anymore helpful. Chris V was able to explain not only techniques for the terrain but was also extremely informed about the bike and how to use it properly. We are looking forward to more lessons and coming back very soon.

Yelp
Mother nature has not been forthcoming with the white stuff in the 2015/16 season but these folks have been putting forth an heroic effort with snow making and grooming. Also, I tried the sushi in the cafeteria and it was pretty decent, a nice alternative to my usual choice of chilli and fries.

Yelp
After skiing for years on the west coast, I moved to New York and learned to snowboard. And Windham is where it all started. Like most of the better area mountains (I'm looking at you, Hunter), Windham gets crazy packed on good powder, good weather days. However, the lift lines are speedy, and the runs aren't too heavily traveled. With 53 trails and 12 lifts (2 high-speed quads), Windham is a great local mountain with a vertical of 1600 feet, and the highest peak at 3,100 feet. Over the last 5 years I've been going to Windham, they've expanded their offerings across the board, including their Learn to Ski/Ride program and adding new trails. They've recently renovated their entire upstairs bar area and even added a spa for those non-skiiers and riders of the group. I learned to snowboard with Snowboard instructor Betsy Rich, who is not only inspiring but a great teacher to learn from. Even after five years, we still go out on runs together in her free time when she's not teaching, and I had a great experience with their LTR program all-in-all. While their rentals facility is speedy and smooth, not all LTR boards are created equal. However, they do offer "high-performance" packages for an extra $10-$15 so if you are an avid skier / rider, you can opt in so you'll enjoy your day more on the slopes. Even their cafeteria food gets and their bar drinks get high marks from me. Early morning? Coffeeshop downstairs, and breakfast sandwiches in the cafeteria. Negatives: There are ALWAYS long lines at the upstairs bars for apres-ski, and they never seem to get any better. I was just a few weeks ago, and with two bartenders at each bar, there was literally a 30 minute wait just to get one drink. In this way they appear to be understaffed a bit in that area. Also, the parking lot fills up QUICKLY in the mornings. So if you aren't coming in on a bus, keep this in mind on good weather/good powder days if you want to park closer in. Some fun trivia about Windham: Every run at Windham starts with a "W" - e.g. Whisper, Wanderer, Wedel, Whiskey Jack, Wolverine, and Why not to name a few. Overall, Windham is an exceptional local mountain to the New York area, with many local NYC companies and groups offering weekly (and sometimes daily) trips up to WIndham during the high-season. Everything in concentrated in the one main lodge, including the rental facility (though they do have a mid-mountain lodge that I really have never visited much), and it really has a homey, wintery lodge feel. I look forward to coming back year after year, and I'm sure to be back again soon.

Yelp
The mountain itself was great, lines were short, trails were nicely groomed. The only problem I had was with one of the lift operators on lift F. One of the lift operators by the name of Kurt G was inappropriately interacting and touching my four year old daughter while waiting for the chairlift. Never in a million years would I think something like this would happen... this is completely unacceptable. The fun and happy day on the slopes, quickly turned into a frightening scene. My daughter was shaken up, frightened, and still traumatized til this day. I will never return to Windham Mountain again unless this lift operator is not there.

Yelp
my ass kissed the ice, my knees kissed the ice, I french kissed the ski lift at one point in my beginner's escapade into this snow park. My instructor, Bob, and my ski lift coordinator Brian, gave me some great tips, and they kept encouraging me on, never gave up on me as I planted my knees, my butt cheeks, my palms, my face, and my elbows into the hard, hard snow on this day. And, for that?? I'm thankful. You guys and the rest of your friendly staff turned this 4 star resort into a 5 star resort. I had a great time. I'll be back. I bowled a strike over a crowd of little impressionable children, I knocked the pearly white dentures out of this one lady with my ski pole, and I spanked my future baby-momma with my ski poles, half accident, half mischievious behavour... As you begin to master your technique, after fall, after fall, after fall, you'll get the hang of it and begin to enjoy it. At first I was afraid of the speed down the little bunny hill, after a fair amount of lumps & bruising, I came to enjoy the speed, shifting weight from leg to leg, turning around the slower folks, skinning the cones, and pulling out a pizza to slow down. French fries, and pizzas is how they teach toddlers around here. I love it!

Yelp
Solid mountain with an awesome staff. Although the resort is catered more for skiing, I still enjoyed snowboarding here. Here are some highlights: -Very friendly and knowledgeable staff -many runs and options for all levels -well groomed -good school, I took a lesson and learned some new moves -solid food options and prices, even for the drinks If I had one recommendation, make the lifts faster. The current setting/setup is slow on a few that I used.

Yelp
Thanks to Emilio Ski Shop (http://www.emiliosskishop.com) my wife and I took a day trip to Wyndham on a Saturday. Two packed coach buses departing at 6:30 AM took skiing and snowboarding hopefuls to Wyndham Mountain around 9 AM. Getting rentals for my wife consumed another hour of time. We also got the all day $5 bucket rental since the lockers ran out. We spend the day taking it easy; (since it was the first time on the slope this season) we stayed on the lower east side of the mountain and only tried three trails: Wonderama, Lower Wipeout and Warm Up. Since I was out of shape I took a couple of bad spills. It was crowded and some parts of the trails were icy and treacherous. When we were done, we put our equipment away and went upstairs and got a seat at the bar (singular, getting seats was difficult). Service wasn't great since everyone wanted to drink. Note: it was disturbing seeing children at the bar (even though their tired parents were standing, it was weird). Bartenders "X-ray" and Nicholas poured us our Blue Moon and served us a burger and lamb/beef gyro. The entrees were not so good. Nicholas told us afterwards that only the chicken (sliders) sandwich and sloppy joe were the only decent items on the menu... Thanks for nothing. At least we scored a few free beers due to their accounting errors (too busy attending to a crowded bar). We were happy to get back on bus at 4 PM and get back to the city. It was another hour getting to the Bronx. Overall we would do it again. IFHTP 1

Yelp
My experience at Windham Mountain Resort was a pleasurable one. Our group of five had one avid skier and four newbies. We opted for a 2-hour private lesson and were surprised at how efficient and informative (and funny) our instructor Larry was. Each of us was able to significantly improve our skiing ability within the two hours and some of us even advanced to the lift and more slopes. While the private lessons are definitely much more expensive, we all thought that it was a good use of money and as beginners we needed the dedicated one-on-one time to be able to pick up the skills so quickly. The mountain can get quite crowded during the day and the lodge gets packed with people so get ready to wait. It took us about an hour to get our rentals all squared away and check into our lesson. All the employees are incredibly friendly and willing to help in any way possible whether from helping you put your boot on to helping you get on/off the lift. I would recommend skipping the cafeteria (the food is terrible and crowded) and splurging at the restaurant Seasons upstairs. The food quality is much improved and you will get a table and space without having to fight for it. Pricing wise, the mountain is expensive, but skiing in general isn't an inexpensive activity so this can be expected. Rentals (ski, boots, and helmet) are $45 each. The lift ticket is $75. And private lesson varies based on the length of time and number of people. There is a beginners package which bundles rentals, lift ticket, and lessons for $100 for the day but the lesson can be in a large class (20-40 people) of all ages and varying beginner ability. If you have some experience and would to freshen up or a reminder lesson on the skills, this is probably a good choice for you. If you need a lot of help, I would definitely suggest paying for the private lessons. Overall, we all had a great experience on Windham mountain and cannot wait to come back again next season!

Yelp
I've skied Windham for the better part of a decade and it continues to be dependable. It's slightly more obscure than Hunter (though not as obscure as Belleayre). That means shorter lines for lifts. Also, the blue trails here are a bit more fun than what you get at Hunter (Belt Parkway and some dinky trails that are often closed for lack of snow). Everything from the summit is fast and long. The food options are more limited than Hunter's, but suffice. It's also a bit cheaper for midweek skiing, in general. Windham has more of the classically rustic, alpine feel and slightly less of the "closest-mountain-to-the-city" vibe. A bit less snowmaking than its better known neighbor, but enough for a full day of fun.

Yelp
Being that it was a holiday weekend, we knew all the resorts were going to be crowded, so we decided to go to Windham thinking it would be less crazy than Hunter. WRONG! However, despite the crowds, we still had an great time. - Parking - get here early if you want a decent spot. Didn't arrive until 11:30 and we circled around all the lots until we found a spot (created our own) along the road. About 15- 20 min walk to the lodge. Not bad. - Lift tickets - save 10% if purchase tickets on their website by 12pm the day before you use it. I didn't purchase in time and paid the full day price of $85 valid 8-8pm. $75 ticket is valid 8-4pm. - School - I heard this place has a really great ski/snowboarding school for kids, offering half day or full day packages. You can drop them off and go. Not many resorts offer this type of program. - The mountain - there are 2 peaks and 50 trails or so. Good amount of blue trails, which I prefer. For beginners there is a great section of green trails. The mountain is very family friendly. Saw lots of families skiing together. There is night skiing available but only a couple lifts are operating during that time. - Lifts - I liked the high speed quad that brings you to the top. During peak hours, the wait for the lift was about 25 min. But the single line goes fast. Take that and meet friends at the top. What I appreciated most is the gentle dismount from the lift. No steep decline = no crashing. - Conditions - because of all the recent snowstorms, the conditions were wonderful, almost west coast like! Nice packed powdery snow. However, there were some unexpected and unintended moguls. Snowboarding through moguls is not fun. The trails could have been groomed a bit more. Overall, great conditions. - Food - didn't eat in the cafeteria or restaurants as I ate a big breakfast and packed snacks. However, I did have a Belgium waffle from the Waffle Cabin outside. Yummy. This mountain is about 2.5 hrs from Northern NJ. It's a little further than Hunter but the crowds here are friendlier and I enjoyed the long trails here a bit more. Overall, had a fun day on the slopes.

Yelp
Love the slopes here! The lanes are very wide so it gives you lots of space to board and the management is pretty darn friendly. If there is one thing I would say it could improve is the quality of their rentals.. I went through 4 pairs of boots until I found one that didn't drill into my leg on the side. The guys at the center I'll set up your board to your preference. Also, maybe you should call in advance to know if the bar will be open late.. As the slopes class at 4pm, mostly everyone wants to chill at legends bar upstairs with a drink and talk pow pow stuff... But it seems that some Sundays events go on and last call for drinks are at 3:30... Which most people will not be able to enjoy cause we are still trying to get out last run in by that time... This and Hunter mountain have been my favorites of the east coast so far... But I am a newbie so don't take my word for it!

Yelp
I prefer Windham Mountain Skiing to the other local area Mountain Hunter. It was a holiday weekend so the place was packed, food was pricey but I guess this day and age it's par for the course. The staff was warm and friendly.

Yelp
I didn't stay here but I did go skiing and this review is solely based on that. It isn't as busy as others I have gone to, so check in was good and effortless. I did think there wasn't a lot of order as far as keeping the center clear especially since accidents are prone to happen. The lifts are a bit basic. But here is the kicker! You really don't need to purchase a lift ticket. They don't even check. I ended up losing mine because I fell, but I never needed it and no one asked. So I told like two other friends and you know the rest. Anyway, it was nice. Solid 3 stars

Yelp
Today was my second visit to Windham, which is about 2 1/4 hours from the NY metro area and 20 or so minutes north-west of Hunter mountain. Parking is plentiful. From the lot to the right of the entrance, you can walk up to and then hop on a conveyor belt that will take you the rest of the way to the base lodge. I saw some shuttles, but it didn't seem worth the effort given how close I was already. Food service is good also. There's plenty of food and seating at the base of the mountain as well as some up top. Good sized fire places as well, and a fire pit outside at the base of the mountain. There's a little waffle house at the base for those with a sweet tooth. As far as skiing goes, I'd say that the double blacks that I skied offer up a good challenge to the advanced intermediate to expert skier, especially the un-groomed, deeply moguled trails. Mind you, none of the trails are terribly long. Terrain parks are aplenty too, for those looking to do some playing. Feel like just cruising? There are plenty of opportunities on the beginner's and intermediate trails. A favorite trail of mine on this trip was Upper Wolverine. With the slope, amount of powder we had, and just the right amount of grooming, it was challenging and fun for my skill level, which I'd rate at advanced intermediate. So at the end of the day, given Windham, Belleayre and Hunter as options close to one another, I'd rank Windham and Belleayre as on par to each other. For some more advanced expert skiing, I'd recommend hitting the double blacks at Hunter.

Yelp
The hubs and I had a fun, positive experience snow tubing! The staff was friendly for the most part - aside from this psychopath named Cassidy working the tube line (throwing the tubes in when people get off the lift). I witnessed her straight-up take some kid out with a tube because she wasn't watching where she was tossing them. She then went on to yell at the little girl for getting in the way. Her parents weren't around, but I noticed and would love to hear back from management on that one. Completely unacceptable behavior.

Yelp
Not a bad mountain but they can't handle the crowds. Older lifts. No lift capacity. My advice - skip it. Ski elsewhere. However, I hurt myself and their ski patrol was awesome!

Yelp
MTB in May 2019. 2 trails... new 6 person chair started running using some kind of front wheel latch behind the chair for 3 bikes. Nice idea but zero maintenance from 2018 trails. Great for winter sports not good for summer.. Fast forward to Sept 14, 2019. We hoped for trail improvements. None what so ever other than building a wooden bridge on the easy trail. Place was empty. They have a huge canvas to make flowing trails and and huge runs... Nothing... no berms jumps are made by rain or locals with shovels. Going up the chair we realized the mountain needed all new plumbing for snow making. rotten pipes everywhere. Excavation and more excavation. Total waste of a days trip. I hope they get the snow making done on time. Such a beautiful location with no assets.. such a shame.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing. I was here for about a week and I loved every second of every moment in this resort. The slopes here were pretty icy but they can be fixed with more snow. Another thing I love is the food options, I recommend the Waffle Cabin. Overall it was a perfect experience.
