Excellent food and ambiance. The first waitress we saw was a bit standoffish and I wasn’t sure if we would be welcome, but the one who actually served us was lovely. It’s a pricey location but with excellent food. We had the lobster roll and chowder soup combo. It was Devine. Not too salty. There was a good amount of lobster and the chowder had a good amount of fish. We also had fresh rolls that came with that were melt in your mouth good. The presentation was appetizing. The service was a nice compromise between attentive and allowing us to chat.

Location, is excellent close to the water, enough free parking, decoration and layout. I liked the decoration as it took me back to history. Colours are excellent. The layout need upgrade. The restaurant is small size and tables are close to one another. It was odd to see the chairs are different, they are not the same.however I found it funny and lovely, as I felt I am a guest not in restaurant. Out side seats were nice as well. Cleanliness, the cleaning within expectations. The table was organized well Service, was nice and friendly, although we went late night, but still employee or the owner are respectful and welcoming. The only issue I had, it took them longer time to seated us. Food preparation was within expectations, I liked my order it was tasty and delicious. Prices, we ordered seafood and prices within expectations. Conclusion, I see if I go to PEI, I am positive that I will like to go their again.

Nice restaurant along riverside in Montague PEI. Indoor and Outdoor seating. Always busy. Food was enjoyable - seafood based of course. A little expensive due to cost of seafood costs.

Google
Everything was fantastic! Seafood cooked to perfection, everything fresh and made in house! Right down to the whipped butter and dinner bun. Finished the delicious meal with a delicious Monte Cristo coffee . Service was fast and made great suggestions for GF options. Would definitely come back 💕

Google
View from the patio. $34 for a lobster sandwich shocked me. But it was delicious. And so was the clam chowder. All of their desserts are freshly made in house. The raspberry cheesecake was delicious.

Google
Great food and pleasant service with a very nice atmosphere overlooking the harbour. Highly recommended. The shrimp and scallops were particularly delicious.

Google
Started with fresh bread. Very nice. Had seafood chowder for appi. Have not seen that much seafood on chowder before. Tasted amazing. Then had haddock lunch special with French Onion soup. Haddock was done to perfection with homemade tartar sauce. French Onion soup was more simple...could have used more cheese but it tasted great. Had the bread pudding for dessert. Nice caramel sauce and warm bread. Delicious. Great historic building and beautiful location.

We went here for dinner on a Thursday evening, around 5PM. Both the food and service were good, but nothing special. It seemed a bit expensive for what we got.

Yelp
The service was great and the outdoor seating very nice. The food was great, the seafood tasted very fresh and the mashed potatoes were very good. These were probably the best tasting posters we had on the island!

Yelp
Our second time there. Outside was nice but seating should be adjusted so that everyone gets a nice view. Fresh flower boxes were a very nice touch. The fish tacos were very tasty and well prepared. The side salad was excellent. Dressed, but not overly. Slightly sweet. Delicious! The steak sandwich was very good but not as expected. It was a piece of steak (not shaved as assumed). And it was open faced. Again, not as expecteded but delicious just the same.

Yelp
What a wonderful gem of a restaurant in Montague, P.E.I, Canada. We were staying in a lighthouse for our anniversary in a nearby town. We wanted a nice meal and were lucky to find this place. I wish I could remember our waiter's name. He was fabulous. A young man that was informative, professional and attentive. We started with oysters, and they were huge! Moved to mains of linguine and seafood cioppino, amazing! Hot and so delicious. Finished with a close second to my mom's bread pudding! Make a reservation it is a small intimate place. They do have some outdoor seating.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. Waiter couldn't have been nicer or more unobtrusive while taking care of everything. We sat outside o the deck overlooking the river by the parking lot, beautiful summer evening view. Wy wife and I are live on the Massachusetts shore and know our seafood. The bowls of fish chowder that we had were some of the best, maybe THE best, we ave ever enjoyed. Taste was perfect, chunks of fish, scallop, shrimp and more along with potato and just the right amount of seasoning and rich, creamy goodness. Very filling. But I went on to have a heaping bowl of mussels, also perfect, no grit, really didn't even need the accompanying melted butter. My wife had a delicious salad that was a great complement to the chowder. We heartily recommend this restaurant (and this is a real review!

Yelp
This is a great place to eat. Beautiful patio with lovely scenery. History in the building. Attentive staff. Good Menu. Even better food. Everything was delicous. My husband and I loved the lobster rolls which were filled with chunky lobster meat and matched with a lovely chowder. The fresh oysters we wished we would have had a second helping on. Kiddo loved the fish burger. Second kiddo gobbled up her fish cakes. Desserts were amazing. We don't order desserts usually but after we say them pass by tables we couldn't resist. Kiddos loved the chocolate mouse and cheese cake. After trying a bit I would agree. they certainly don't skimp on ingrediants or flavour here. My husband and I split the blueberry dessert and I wished I ordered my own. It was so rich, so balanced in flavours with the sauce I could have easily eaten two. If you are driving by, do yourself a favour and stop her for a bite to eat. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Incredibly nice servers, but they must be understaffed. We sat for a half hour with our menus closed waiting to order. Then the food took over an hour. One of us enjoyed the dish of the day. fish and vegetables. One of us made the mistake of ordering the chicken carbonara. There was nothing carbonara about if. It was basically the same alfredo-like pasta and sauce as the other dishes on the menu but with chicken. Disappointing.

Yelp
I count 18 items on the menu that I would like to have, and I've already enjoyed 5 or more of them. I've liked this place since at least 2000. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they forget something, just ask.

Yelp
Went for lunch and had the lobster quiche special. Had side of mash potatoes and carrots. Everything was very delicious. Even the carrots were top notch. My wife had the fish cakes, and those were great too. The service was prompt. Cool, we were on the patio next to a maple tree that they'd built the deck around. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The service was poor to mediocre for a well-established restaurant. For example, we had to ask for additional butter for the rolls. One butter for eight rolls was not sufficient by any means. We had to ask for ice for our water twice before it arrived. We had to ask for salt and pepper for our meals. And then the tea was served with no cream\milk or sugar. The meal was fine but it was just hard to believe that all these details are missing by a well-established restaurant and an experienced server. Unfortunately, this lack of attention to detail makes it difficult to recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Very average food but great service. We ordered the lobster stuffed mushroom caps, seared haddock, lobster and scallop bake and the cranberry chicken. The only thing worth the order was the losbter stuffed mushroom caps. PEI definitely has many other restaurants to choose from, I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place on our way back from Georgetown. It's a cozy restaurant with a nice patio facing the water which is a plus. The menu offers fresh, home cooked meals and the bread that's served, the softest melt in your mouth bread I've had in a while. I ordered the lobsters lunch, chilled with two healthy sides. But save room for dessert- every thing is baked in house, perfect single portion size and not too sweet. The owner who served us was friendly and attentive, just really pleasant. This is a hidden gem that you gotta visit.

Yelp
The scallops and shrimp were fresh and grilled to perfection. The accompanying vegetables were el dante and flavorful. The food was served piping hot. Dessert was a warm rhubarb crisp and ice cream which was delicious. Coffee was fresh and served hot. There was a lovely harbour view from my table on the deck though at times the bugs were a distraction. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Because we visited in the early part of the season wasn't sure if there hours but last reservation is 7:30pm 11-4 they serve lunch 4-7:45 they area supper. Made a reservation for 6:45 and arrived and seated fine. Just 4 other tables present when we arrived. We both ordered the lobster supper which comes with tea or coffee appitizer (soup or mussels ) 11/4pnd lobster veggies, fresh bread, potatoes, choice of dessert. First experience with eating a whole lobster for either of us. Was unique and tasty. By the time we were done we were very full. We were the last guest to leave the restaurant but never felt rushed or ignored. Service was great.

Yelp
Great service, and fantastic food, with a beautiful view of the Montague River and marina. We ate on the patio next to the massive maple tree that grows right out of the deck. The house chicken panini was great, with a well dressed ceasar salad. Others enjoyed the seafood chowder (described as amazing!), chicken penne pasta, and lobster roll. Desert was fantastic with a unique take on pecan pie, an amazing blueberry cake with local berries, and some raspberry cheesecake. A great find in this quaint little town on the island!

Yelp
We had to take a walk after eating, it was so good. Seafood linguine was delicious and the chicken stir fry was very good. The homemade bread pudding was the best we've ever had. Our waiter was very personable and we enjoyed our conversation with him. If you in Montegue, PEI, don't pass by.

Yelp
I wish I could give a more thorough review, but we never got that far. Stopped in for lunch when we were passing through Montague. We waited, like the sign said near the door, to be seated. At least 3 different waiters walked by us without so much as acknowledging our presence. After over 10 minutes finally one of the waiters told us they were cleaning off a table and we could be seated soon. Once it was cleared, they told us to have a seat (didn't actually seat us, we had to just wander into the dining room and guess which table, not a big deal but a little weird). We sat down with menus and waited and waited for any waiter to come by but no one ever did, not even just to fill our water glasses. Two different waiters went around to the other tables but we, again, were completely ignored. Finally I thought a waiter was coming by for us, but no. She started cleaning up the table behind us instead. There was no one waiting to be seated and there were only four other tables with customers, so I'm not really sure why it was so slow. After an additional 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over, we decided we were too hungry to wait and got up and left. I can't speak to the food because we weren't able to order, but the service was absolutely terrible. I can only imagine what it's like when it's actually crowded. Definitely would never recommend this place, unless you enjoy waiting for long periods for no reason, being ignored by the waitstaff, and wasting your time. Edit: My friend also told me when she used the bathroom it was out of toilet paper and paper towels so she had to use the decorative curtains covering the bottom of the sink to dry her hands. It's a small place, so there's really no excuse.

Yelp
It was good. However they're closing at the end of the week so they were out of cod and ran out of lobster.

Yelp
A great little place beside the river with a screened in verandah and a super view of the harbour . There was a lobster special when we were there at a reasonable price and it looked great. We had the soup du jour. ..a carrot garlic which was superb , matched with a seafood fettuccine that could match any big city fare. Save room for the deserts!

Yelp
Kelly and I had an excellent meal here. Kelly had the seafood bubbly bake and I had the scallops and shrimp fish. To start we had the scallops and mandarin salad, the dressing on the salad was very good. Kelly main had lots of seafood pieces with a great broth and cheesy mixture. My scallops and shrimp were very good too, both were cooked perfectly . Veg was also very good on both plates the cut and presentation reminded me of an excellent home cooked touch. Wait staff were very good and attentive.

Yelp
Great food! Great view! Amazing service. I had the haddock burger and it was so good! Finally a place that doesn't deep fry and batter everything! Highly recommend this place.

Mariana N.

Yelp
This was the first meal we had when we got to PEI and it was just amazing! Now in retrospect I see how much of a good deal the lobster lunch was. It was succulent for lack of a better word. The chowder and mussels are also highly recommended. Seriously... Those mussels...mmmmm.

Yelp
We were lured in by the lovely location and wonderful deck. Celebrating our honeymoon we were ready to splurge on some fine wine and what we hoped would be tasty and well prepared seafood at Windows on the Water. There was only one other couple on the deck. We were promptly seated. We waited five minutes. Out waitress walked by twice. Another couple was seated . The first couple had their order taken. I cough the eye of our waitress. The second couple had their drink order taken. Another table was seated. The second table has their food order tharen. I caught our waitresses eye again- she acknowledged. Another table arrived and so on and so on until the table that arrived after us received their food. Our drinks order had not been taken after 27 minutes. We quietly left without even a comment from the staff. Fortunately there are several other pleasant establishments nearby Windows on the Water with timely service and good food that were happy to take our money for the week.

Yelp
Great food and great service!! They went out of their way to accommodate us and a very active two year old.

Greg P.

Yelp
Definitely get a reservation for a table on the deck. You get a beautiful view of the bay/harbor. Dinner was good, dessert - delicious, service - friendly and attentive. Little pricey but a good treat once in a while.

Taylor C.

Yelp
The service was very very slow, on what was their last day of the season. The mussels were good, but dry. The haddock "burger" was ok, but nothing to write home about. It came on a huge bun, which was unnecessary. I upgraded my side dish to a cup of the seafood chowder, which again, was just ok(I lived on the Cape for many years and know what good chowder is supposed to taste like). My brother had the bruschetta, which was ok, but soggy with too many tomatoes. His chicken panini good, but not great. Overall the meal was just ok, and took a long time.
