Windtower Building (Individually Owned and Operated Suites, not a Hotel)

Very old building, I’m staying at an Airbnb here and the unit is nice. However, the building itself does not reflect that. The sound proofing is terrible, I can hear thudding footsteps upstairs quite easily and even voices from the hallways through the walls. I understand all units are privately owned, but this is not about the unit but the quality of the building itself. Think twice before booking an Airbnb in this specific building.

Windtower Lodge & Suites in Canmore is in a fantastic, central location—perfect for exploring the town and nearby natural attractions. The room itself was a bit smaller than expected, and navigating the different building codes for the doors took some getting used to. That said, the stay was still enjoyable. The lodge has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the convenience of its location made adventures around Canmore easy and stress-free. Overall, a solid choice for a comfortable stay in the heart of the Rockies.

Each unit is individually owned but my review is for the building itself. The location is great. We enjoyed the included parking spot. However, the building has a super weird vibe. Cabinets in the lobby are chained shut. The once upon a time jacuzzi is all fenced off with some really weird orange plastic fence. The building has a really strong smell that seeps into your air bnb. The lobby feels dirty and outdated. There were Christmas decorations up in July and someone sells sushi out of their unit…. It was just odd. There is an indoor garbage room that you have to throw your trash into and it smells so so so awful. It was just weird. I would not go back.

This private condo rental for us felt super secure. It was close enough to downtown, but not so close, there are tons of people everywhere you are trying to be. Lovely trail in back of property helps keep folks off the busy streets while providing access.

Well I actually didn’t get a chance to stay here. The operator gave so much grief over my licensed service dog. Telling me where he can and can not go, and that they would have to clean an extra hour after, and the room is small for a dog (only me traveling). He was rude and disrespectful and this place is not welcoming or inclusive for disabilities.

The room was disgusting. Tiny. Extremely hot. And in the tiny space available, they installed air conditioning. I'm amazed that Airbnb would collaborate with a place like this.

Each spot is individually owned. Be sure to check all the specifics of what is included in your booking. Ideal location for access to downtown and the mountains. Appreciated the underground parking.
