Wine & Books Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In Lisbon’s Ajuda neighborhood, Wine & Books Lisboa looks out toward the dome of Igreja da Memória and the rooftops beyond. Inside, it is all polished surfaces, warm light, and nods to Portuguese culture, from the wine list to the library shelves. There are just 24 rooms, each finished with intricate details and plenty of natural light. Views alternate between tiled rooftops and grand baroque façades. Downstairs, the wine bar serves regional picks and sharp takes on petiscos, best enjoyed with a book, or a friend, or both. It is an easy fit for travelers who want to feel Lisbon without chasing it." - Tablet Hotels

My recent stay at your hotel was exceptional. The property’s modern design and excellent amenities created a welcoming atmosphere, and every interaction with staff reflected a high standard of service. I’d especially like to recognize Fernando, who provided outstanding assistance and valuable local insights that enhanced my visit. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a wide range of options, and the restaurant team was attentive and courteous. The hotel’s location was ideal—close to local landmarks and convenient for public transportation. Thank you for a wonderful stay; I look forward to returning.

My husband I were looking for a eco-friendly hotel for the last three days in Portugal and our first time in Lisbon. What a treat! I read the reviews on the Wine & Books Hotel and they were superb! |There is a decadent feel to the hotel and I do love the resistance to any plastic use! The room was beautifully presented and I mentioned that it was our honeymoon and had a little treat await us when we arrived. The view was lovely and we realised we were a little out of the central area of Lisbon which was heaven.|Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, granolas, pastel de natas, cooked breakfasts and more. Dinner was delicious with knowledgable staff on the wine menu, Miguel and Silvia just had the best best energy and always friendly. The staff overall were attentive, nothing was too much and a comfortable super king size bed. The shower was something to get used to as is was a feature in the room, nothing my ego didn't get over. |It was quiet, the room excellently clean and great value for money. Overall, highly recommend and we would definitely visit again!

My wife and I had such a lovely time here. The hotel itself is wonderful - a small, intimate footprint, but very comfortable, with luxurious amenities. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that feels fairly consistent for Lisbon. It's in a slightly quieter part of town, but a 5 minute walk to Belem and a short cab to more of the popular tourist destinations. It felt more neighborly than many of the other alternatives, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The service was stellar. Fernando is the most pleasant man and went above and beyond to ensure the quality of our stay. He was very thoughtful and incredibly helpful - the very definition of what it means to be hospitable. We would stay here again for the service alone - the hotel is just the cherry on top.

We only stayed one night at Wine & Books in Lisbon at the end of our trip, but wished we could have stayed longer! Overall, we were very impressed and loved our stay. The hotel's location is in a great neighborhood with beautiful views. It is also close to restaurants, shops, and other amenities. Both the hotel and room were exceptionally clean and thoughtfully designed. The staff was excellent, and helped pre-check our bags early so we could sightsee. The bed was large and comfortable, the room lighting was perfect, and the bathroom was stunning. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant (Tasca da Memória) - both very solid. We booked massages at the spa, which was relaxing, followed by a stop at the Turkish bath, sauna, and contrast shower. The only (minor) downsides were A) the rainfall shower, which was difficult to avoid spraying water everywhere, and B) the lack of counter/desk space in the room (could have used a console table or media bench under TV).

This charming, sumptuous hotel is on the west side of Lisbon. I think it is the ideal location to enjoy the various charms Lisboa has to offer. It's near many of the foremost tourist locations, but a 10minute cab ride (very cheap) to the busy parts of town around the popular Time Out food market. This means that if you want a little peace and quite, you can escape the hordes. The food and wine are of a very good standard. Very well executed traditional food, done in a modern sophisticated way. The wine list is who's who of Portuguese wine.

Absolutely great hospitality (Adalberto and the rest of the team - sorry, I’m not the best when it comes to the names, but everyone was very kind and helpful), perfect breakfast and a beautiful view. Sitting at the balcony after whole day of enjoying Lisbon was a great experience. Adalberto booked us a table at Guelra Restaurant which was 10/10! At first I was a bit sceptical about the location, but later on I understood that this was a perfect choice for us. Next to the boat trips and Jeronimos Monastery, quiet neighborhood, some great coffee, pastel de nata/de belem and a local wine spots. A great place to relax after a noisy and crowded center. Thank you for upgrading our room (birthday trip) The hotel is eco friendly. It also has a mini, but well equipped fitness centre a spa (although this is a very small area, without water to drink and option to relax. Sauna, steam bath and three showers (cold-warm-hot water), but no relax zone. What I don’t understand - it is obligatory to wear a swimming suit - and that is not eco/healthy at all ;) but it doesn’t change my opinion about the hotel - we had a wonderful time and we’ll come back! Next on the list: Sintra.

This was the most beautiful hotel, it was a living work of art. The staff were incredibly helpful, very attentive and always greeted you with a smile. It’s a little bit away from the city center but very close to the Palace, the Monastery and other historical sites. You can easily catch public transportation into the city and Uber is very inexpensive. The hotel restaurant was a five star experience. Make sure you add the breakfast option onto your stay.

Wine & Books Hotel is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed space that made my stay feel both luxurious and welcoming. The attention to detail in the rooms, the ambiance throughout the hotel, and the overall cleanliness truly exceeded my expectations. It’s a place that blends comfort and style effortlessly and the location is just as impressive. However, my experience at the restaurant did not reflect the same level of service. I encountered delays in receiving assistance, and when my food finally arrived, it was not quite what I ordered. While the staff were polite, the dining experience lacked the efficiency and care I experienced elsewhere in the hotel. That said, the hotel itself is absolutely worth a visit. I hope the restaurant service improves, as it would elevate an already wonderful stay into an exceptional one. I’d still recommend Wine & Books for anyone looking for a quiet, elegant, and well-curated hotel experience in the city.
