Wine & Books Hotels | Lisboa

This may not be the cheapest hotel but it is the best hotel that I have stayed in for years. We stayed for 3 nights and every minute was a joy. We had the most wonderful welcome which was just the start of a faultless experience. Every member of staff was outstanding. Daniella was fabulous in the restaurant, she immediately made us feel welcome and wanted to learn all our names for that extra personal touch. Nothing was too much trouble and she just loved getting us to try all the wonderful goodies served at breakfast. The freshly made pastries were great as was the pumpkin bread which I just loved. I can't say enough about the breakfast, my wife loved the made to order avocado toast dish. I did have dinner in the restaurant one evening which was very good but the star of the show was Duarte who readily made recommendations to our group as well as making us all laugh at every available opportunity. I must not forget to mention the amazing reception staff either, Bruno, Fernando and Mariana are just a few of the stars we met who simply could not do enough to help. I wish I could award more than five stars because everyone at Wine and Books Belem deserve it. I have not even mentioned the superb decor that creates a very special authentic atmosphere. I will leave that for you to discover. I will never stay in another hotel when I return to Lisbon. My recent stay at your hotel was exceptional. The property’s modern design and excellent amenities created a welcoming atmosphere, and every interaction with staff reflected a high standard of service. I’d especially like to recognize Fernando, who provided outstanding assistance and valuable local insights that enhanced my visit. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a wide range of options, and the restaurant team was attentive and courteous. The hotel’s location was ideal—close to local landmarks and convenient for public transportation. Thank you for a wonderful stay; I look forward to returning.

The hotel is absolutely incredible. From the cleaning staff member I had the pleasure of meeting (Solange) to the restaurant team and reception (Fernando), everyone made us feel truly welcome. It genuinely feels like home. What an amazing experience. Located in the Belém area of Lisbon, it’s the perfect place to stay - warm, elegant, and unforgettable.

We only stayed one night at Wine & Books in Lisbon at the end of our trip, but wished we could have stayed longer! Overall, we were very impressed and loved our stay. The hotel's location is in a great neighborhood with beautiful views. It is also close to restaurants, shops, and other amenities. Both the hotel and room were exceptionally clean and thoughtfully designed. The staff was excellent, and helped pre-check our bags early so we could sightsee. The bed was large and comfortable, the room lighting was perfect, and the bathroom was stunning. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant (Tasca da Memória) - both very solid. We booked massages at the spa, which was relaxing, followed by a stop at the Turkish bath, sauna, and contrast shower. The only (minor) downsides were A) the rainfall shower, which was difficult to avoid spraying water everywhere, and B) the lack of counter/desk space in the room (could have used a console table or media bench under TV).

My husband I were looking for a eco-friendly hotel for the last three days in Portugal and our first time in Lisbon. What a treat! I read the reviews on the Wine & Books Hotel and they were superb! |There is a decadent feel to the hotel and I do love the resistance to any plastic use! The room was beautifully presented and I mentioned that it was our honeymoon and had a little treat await us when we arrived. The view was lovely and we realised we were a little out of the central area of Lisbon which was heaven.|Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, granolas, pastel de natas, cooked breakfasts and more. Dinner was delicious with knowledgable staff on the wine menu, Miguel and Silvia just had the best best energy and always friendly. The staff overall were attentive, nothing was too much and a comfortable super king size bed. The shower was something to get used to as is was a feature in the room, nothing my ego didn't get over. |It was quiet, the room excellently clean and great value for money. Overall, highly recommend and we would definitely visit again!

The hotel is ideally placed and beautifully furnished. The beds are comfortable and the supplies are plentiful. The people really make the place what it is; they are welcoming, helpful and kind. If you get Mariana or Antonio at reception, you're in for a treat.They are both wonderful. For the price, this place is amazing!

Wine and books went above and beyond to ensure a lovely experience for our 2 night stay - from early check in and breakfast to the cleanliness of the rooms / facilities we so enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and well kept amenities (gym is amazing!) The king size bed guaranteed a great sleep and the hotel is conveniently located near multiple landmarks, museums (we recommend the Maritime!) and the outdoor maritime walk along the water. Must visit pasties de belem for breakfast. 10/10 hotel experience!!

My wife and I had such a lovely time here. The hotel itself is wonderful - a small, intimate footprint, but very comfortable, with luxurious amenities. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that feels fairly consistent for Lisbon. It's in a slightly quieter part of town, but a 5 minute walk to Belem and a short cab to more of the popular tourist destinations. It felt more neighborly than many of the other alternatives, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The service was stellar. Fernando is the most pleasant man and went above and beyond to ensure the quality of our stay. He was very thoughtful and incredibly helpful - the very definition of what it means to be hospitable. We would stay here again for the service alone - the hotel is just the cherry on top.
