What a stunning spot! Housed in a beautifully restored 19th‑century bank building, the architecture is absolutely breathtaking and sets the tone for a truly memorable experience. The wine selection is exceptional — over a thousand labels from local Bendigo and Heathcote regions, plus some rare international finds. So thoughtfully curated and perfect for every kind of wine lover. The menu complements the wines beautifully, with a mix of Mediterranean-inspired and tapas-style dishes. Think warm Mt Zero olives, cheese, meats, and delicious bruschetta — perfect for grazing and sharing. And the service? Just lovely. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable — they really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. A gorgeous venue with amazing wines, a great menu, and warm, genuine hospitality. Highly recommend.

Came to Bendigo for the Freda Kahlo exhibition and stopped into Wine Bank for lunch. What a lovely little gem of a place!! Building steeped in history and has a beautiful atmosphere. Staff all very friendly and food was fantastic! We enjoyed the pasta special which was lamb ragu with stracciatelle pasta which was one of the best pasta meal's we have had! As good as any top Italian restaurant in Melbourne! Baked Camembert Cheese was totally indulgent and bruschetta with Onion Jam and Fetta and mushroom and truffle bruschetta absolutely divine! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Bendigo! We will definitely make the trip back from Melbourne!

Great Atmosphere and Even Better Cocktails Loved the relaxed vibe at the Wine Bank. We sat out the front and watched the world go by — such a perfect spot. The highlight? The best spicy Margaritas I’ve ever had, made by Alister. Absolute perfection in a glass. Highly recommend for a laid back afternoon or evening drink

My best friend and I travelled down from Melbourne to Frida Kahlo and stumbled on the Wine Bank unbeknown to us it was the most popular bar in town. We took our seat in front of the bustling bar in front of a fire as there were no seats (obviously so popular) anyway, we watched as our mezcal Margherita was made and it was hands down the best Margherita I have ever had! Then I found out it was her own recipe!! Amazing. Followed by baked Camembert, prawns and charcuterie… wine bank.. we will be back!!!! Thank you

The wine and food are exceptional. It is a lovely atmosphere and the service was great. The staff were very helpful when choosing drinks and food. Their wine list is extensive and top quality at reasonable prices

Unfortunately, we had an unqualified barista on the day we attended who made one of the worst coffees in many a day. The iced coffees and alcohol free beer were very good however. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and I will return and give them a second chance soon.

I never bother writing reviews but I had to. The food was sooooo yummy and the service was awesome. The chef definitely knows what he is doing and my husband and I just couldn't get over how yummy everything was. 10/10.

Yelp
The Wine Bank is exactly that - a wine bar set in an old bank (on view street). The building is impressive both inside and out, with high ceilings and loads of wines. It appears that Wine Bank is targeted to two crowds - those who want to buy a bottle and go through the full list, and a very casual crowd who want to stop in for a cheap drink. Perhaps price sensitivity is an issue for the area, but the wines on pour were nothing special at all. The tacky paper menu and unimpressive by the glass list stop this from being a classy affair or place worth seeking out if you're a wine buff. I'm all for individual expression, but I think the place could really benefit from a work uniform or even just a dress code - another notch that really works against this being some place special. A good spot for a casual drink of sauvignon blanc or cheap champagne, but definitely not somewhere I would recommend to visitors unless you were settling in for a full bottle.

Yelp
What an amazing find in Bendigo! In the area for business, and this was recommended by locals. The wine options are extensive and excellent, but the food is spectacular. We had the gnocchi and confit chicken. Both were perfectly prepared and far exceeded expectations. If you are in the area, dine in-you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We sat down for a wine on Friday evening, with a blue sky evening we decided to sit outdoors, we ordered wood fired pizzas that were cooked In front of us, absolutely fantastic experience, the staff new their wines, and the licensee was amazing with his knowledge of the wines without being over the top Really enjoyed it, and recommend it if you have a good group wanting a start to finish venue , wine, food, wine, more wine and a parting espresso martini..you'll love this place AK

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Good beer on tap. Bar meals at good prices. Restaurant meals ridiculously overpriced.

Yelp
A lovely spot for lunch after a stroll through the gallery. Set in an old bank, the seating on the steps of the venue and on the footpath are highly sought after on a summer's day. Despite having a huge selection of wines for sale in the cellar type set up, the wine list when dining at lunch is only a 1 page affair. Plenty of appetising selections are on the lunch menu - we tried the Sri Lankan curry, chicken and pine nut risotto and barramundi. I would recommend the main size of the curry and pasta as the entree size serve is appropriately named and you may need more food. Or maybe I am an overeater! The barramundi was cooked perfectly but the mango and avocado salsa would have benefitted from a more rustic approach. The desserts on the menu were unavailable so we had to choose from the cakes at the counter. They were perfectly fine but nothing special. Service was friendly.

Yelp
The staff here are very knowledgable and friendly. I can't believe how many wines they have in stock! Although we didn't have anything to eat, the food we saw looked and smelt wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely afternoon tea, complete with wine and cake!

Yelp
A US guest and I dines here last night and we were impressed with both the food, wine and setting. Our Barra was as good as you get and we were able to select and excellent bottle of Balgownie from the extensive wine list made available, so the earlier observation has been acted upon. In all a great spot, the staff were great too.
