What a fun liquor store to visit. It’s right on fifth Avenue, which is the main drag in the gaslamp district of San Diego, which should tell you something. I think this store may be more of a tourist spot than anything.
The prices will knock your socks off for specialty bottles of booze, and the prices are prominently displayed so that told me too that this is a fantasy experience more than a serious shop for buying
So for those who exclaim that prices are way too high, this is not your average liquor store. In fact, while we were browsing, not buying! We heard people come in and say the states and countries they were from, and no one seemed to be from the local area.
If you’re in the market for a very hard to find liquor, Pappy Van Winkle whiskey let’s say, the Wine Bank probably has it — for a steep price
That said, this is a fun store to visit to look around at the interesting collection of bottles they have. For example, just the tequilas take up an entire long wall of the store from floor to ceiling. The array is mind-boggling.
We asked a question or two of the man behind the counter, and I have to say his knowledge was encyclopedic when it came to answering our questions. Very impressive.
We had a good time looking around at the decorative bottles I am trying to find the most expensive bottles in the store. They have bottles of wine downstairs that cost upwards of $15,000. And they have bottles of whiskey for $8000 etc..
